We've wanted to try S&S for a little while now. Heard great reviews and gave it a go during a holiday weekend. Had a reservation for 6:00 and by 6:30 every table and bar seat was taken. They also have HH on Saturdays! Nice perk. What we snagged: -Brussels (Very good. Crispy and well cooked bacon) -Mussels in a white wine sauce. VERY flavorful. We were about 1/3 of the way done and found and long black hair. Not great, but manger came right over and apologized. Took it off the bill and offered for another. We were good with just taking it off the bill. -Black Cod. Best dish of the night. Had a noddle crispy dish on the side. Fish was cooked perfectly. -Lobster Ravioli. Good, but nothing crazy. Snagged a few drinks: Baklava Old Fashion and Espresso Martini. Both amazing. Very well done. Overall, we'd come back for a HH or a quick dinner. Good food. Inconsistent service. Cute spot that was packed on a Sat night at 8pm. I had called to make a same day reservation and they were very accommodating. Ordered mezza, calamari and octopus for apps. All three dishes were really flavorful. For dinner we tried the sea bass, lobster ravioli, burger, beet salad and brussel sprouts. The sea bass and burger had rave reviews. The lobster crawfish dish and brussel sprouts were pretty standar fair. Will likely not order the beet salad next time. The kitchen is made from scratch so orders for apps and dinner were taken upfront. Service could be better. Went as a group of 3 on a Wednesday night at 6 for dinner. We couldn't get a reservation online but really wanted to try it so we walked-in and literally got the last seats in the whole place, at the bar. The bartenders were nice and meant very well but the service was slow. You could tell that they were overwhelmed. It took a while to get anything, drinks or food but the place was buzzing, nicely lit and cool decor so we didn't mind. For drinks, I heard great things from those I went with about the baklava old fashioned, smoked and regular as well as the pomberry cosmo. These were the most popular drinks being made by the bartenders that night. I had the el diablo which was also incredible. For food, the chicken pot pie and the salmon were favored. I ordered the lamb shank, which wasn't bad. I didn't feel heavy by the end although it was a lot of meat. They brought us a dessert on the house (so nice of them) and it was also good, not too sweet. I would recommend just make sure you get a reservation if you want a dinner spot. This restaurant is a breath of fresh air for Conshohocken. With most restaurants in conshy being owned by the same 3 food groups, there isn't much variety. We decided to try Salt & Stone recently since it was a new spot and this place did not disappoint. Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted by none other than the owners. Zara & Dimitri (not great with names but I think that's what they said) were very welcoming and patient as I inquired about all the work they've done with the interior. It looks a lot nicer inside than the previous restaurant. Now the important part. The food. Absolutely incredible. I am still disappointed I didn't try this place earlier. We started with the goat cheese lollipops (amazing), Mezze, and calimari (high quality). After the first bite, I knew we were in for a great dinner. For the main course, I ordered the Rigatoni & my wife ordered the pork chop. Both were top notch. I love a good old fashioned and I enjoy other people's takes on this. Theirs was something different with a pistachio rim. It did not disappoint. These folks know what they're doing and I'm still thinking about that meal over a week later. read more

I came here about 2 months ago with a party of 5 and we had a great time. The staff was very accommodating and our server frequently checked in on us. The apps/side we ordered were the fried calamari, fried brussels sprouts, roasted mushrooms and baked ham & mac and cheese. All were delicious and would order any of those again. My entree was the pork chop. Unfortunately I could not eat the mashed potatoes so I swapped it with green beans. The pork chop was delicious! The outside with just slightly charred but not enough to give it that charred taste. I want to say it was the seasoning that was charred. The menu had some tempting options, but I think they really need to revamp their happy hour selections, the current items just aren't the ones I'd personally choose to highlight from their menu. For this reason, I would personally chose one of the many other Conshy restaurants to spend happy hour with. Service was also a major letdown. Even though the restaurant was nearly empty, everything moved at a snail's pace. Drinks took quite a while to come out (though once they arrived, they were actually pretty good), and our server seemed disengaged the whole time. As for the food, it was definitely hit or miss per item. The vodka sauce pasta was really delicious and great portion. The truffle fries were another standout and the sauce it came with was delicious. The happy hour veggie flatbread was underwhelming and tasted more like an afterthought than a featured item. The mussels, sadly, were the biggest disappointment, they didn't taste fresh (almost tasted spoiled), they completely wreaked which immediately turned me off, and the flavor completely missed the mark. We weren't even brought out a shell-bowl for the mussels which I thought was odd. By the end of the meal, I couldn't help but feel like I spent more than the quality justified. Great addition to the Conshy scene. We started with a goat cheese lollipops. I could've eaten 10 of them. Next we had the gnocchi, which were perfectly pillowy and penne with vodka sauce, which my friend inhaled. Finished with a very generous slice of baklava with vanilla ice cream. I had a Greek white wine to go with all of this, which was really good. The cocktails look yummy too. It did get a bit loud in there, but not enough to be a dealbreaker. I'm definitely going back and look forward to sitting at the bar next time for happy hour. And for anyone worried that the cigar bar above the restaurant would permeate... it does not... at all. read more

Finally got a chance to try Salt and Stone in Conshocken. What a treat. The menu has many interesting entrees plus some yummy looking standard fare. I was there early so I could take advantage of the happy hour. I had the house white which was a Grüner Veltliner, slightly fruity. I loved it. I chose the Kakavia, which is a very different seafood dish with a fabulous broth. Truly amazing. My only suggestion would be to serve it with bread since the broth was too good to leave. Nikki at the bar took care of me. She was friendly , helpful and gave me excellent service(and some bread ) Can't wait to go back and try something else! read more

The ambiance is nice. The service was good. The food was very mediocre especially based on the price of some of the entrees (Ours was $43x2) The roasted beet salad was very disappointing. Chicken pot pie was mediocre at best chicken was dry and the biscuit on top was burnt and just ok. Waiter did tell us this was just an ok dish.Not a traditional version of chicken pot pie.Our appetizers were very good. A flatbed and mac/cheese were very tasty. I had a steak that was tasty but overcooked. I asked for medium it was medium well. My husband had the Pork chop which was delicious probably the best thing of the 3 entrée. The cocktails looked amazing and I can see going back sitting at the bar and having apps. The space is comfortable and well designed, with inviting seating and a pleasant overall ambiance. The food, however, was inconsistent. The hummus was served with far too little pita to reasonably finish it, while the mac and cheese stood out in a better way, with good texture and an appealing cheese pull. The chicken teriyaki was poorly executed, featuring dry chicken covered in an overly sweet sauce, and the beans mixed throughout were an unpleasant addition. The scallops had decent flavor but were noticeably undercooked; we were later told this is their standard medium-rare preparation, which should be clearly noted on the menu if shellfish is intentionally served nearly raw. Service was a strong point, as the staff was friendly and attentive, and a manager or owner stopped by our table to check in, which was appreciated. read more

I heard this place has good food. Atmosphere isn't great, but we didn't have dinner plans so I made a reservation for 8:30 pm on a Friday. I made this reservation literally minutes before 8:00 pm the same day. When my date was taking too long to get ready I called and told them I couldn't make it but that we would walk in later. They explained that I agreed to a fine if I cancelled within 24 hours (a totally fair practice) to which I explained I just made the res like 20 minutes ago. They said the policy is non negotiable, despite my cancellation not changing anything for the night. They probably hadn't even set up a table yet when I called. All that to say, even if the food is decent (and maybe it is), do not go here. Don't give cheap, money grabbing owners like this your money. Real Scrooge vibes from that experience. Heartless misers don't deserve your hard earned money. Conshy has plenty of good restaurants, as does Philly. Go somewhere better with owners that dont hide behind strict policies to steal money. read more

Patricia was fantastic managing multiple tables at the same time by still giving us adequate service. Food was fantastic. Gave it 4 stars. It could easily be 5 with a little more attention to the food. First time visit on a Saturday early evening. Did my due diligence beforehand and found the reviews very positive. Sat at the bar and was served marvelously by Kim the bartender. She made a wonderful Manhattan that made it hard to drink in moderation. Her service was fantastic. I'm a foodie so I dove in the menu.... Hummus....perfect and I'm a hummus snob. Wings...so so and poverpriced. Rigatoni...good as any high end Italian restaurant. Lamb Shank...good...but did not live up to all the hype. Seemed way too precooked. Sat on a bed rice soaked in a heavy unappealing jus....No onions, carrots, etc you would normally see with a good braised shank. This is supposed to be your signature. Treat it as such...Suggestion - Don't cook it too early in the week, and ditch the rice. Serve it over soft a flavorful bed of couscous... Although the shank was somewhat disappointing... I decided after a hard days work that my brother and I would try out this new place in Conshy named Salt & Stone on E. Fayette St. and it did not dissapoint! First, the service was impeccable, we didn't realize that this was their opening day and you wouls haven't been able to tell. Our guide for the evening was Arijana M. She had a great personality and smile. She helped with a strong selection of their very interesting "smoked" cocktail list. I had the gin cocktail and my friend had the Bacardi rum cocktail. He had his smoked. Arijana brought over the drinks and handed my brother his with a disc on top and said "push the button!" When he did it started infusing his cocktail with a flavored smoke. SO COOL! Arijana then took us on a trip of the new menu describing the cuisine styles, the concept and her favs. We decided to share 4 dishes (2 were Arijana's fav's) to get a lay of ther land. We had the octopus starter which was out of this world, the octopus was charred & perfectly cooked. We also had the hummus plate, beet and feta salad and finally the wasabi caesar. We made a reservation from their website on new years. It was not posted on their website or on the reversion service that they were doing a very very shortened version of their main menu. My wife is vegetarian and after viewing the menu we realized that they not only cut the menu into a quarter of what it is online but also up charged everything about $6. So there was nothing for her on there , and we would be paying a lot more for the same things we would have wanted. Server was very kind and understanding about the situation. I understand it is on the Instagram but that is not where a majority of people go to view menus. For someone with restrictions, you go to the website to view and book. Very misleading and by the time we figured it out as we sat it was too late to book anywhere else. Shitty experience, hope to try again when they can properly communicate things. Not everyone goes right to Instagram...I'd say a majority don't go there at all or social media in general you have a website for a reason read more

We just experienced this place for the first time. We are Conshy natives and have always been worried about trying anything new opening Conshy. Kim, Matt, Aiden are Absolutely fantastic, we were worried this would be just another bar opening under the cigar bar that wouldn't survive. Boy were we wrong, the espresso martinis that Matt made were amazing even better than the daisy and anything fishtown Philadelphia could offer. The bartender Kim was so careful with allergies in our party and was so knowledgeable. And finally Aidan was so great at making sure everything regarding glassware was in the most specular position.
