    Beet salad

Good food. Inconsistent service. Cute spot that was packed on a Sat night at 8pm. I had called to make a same day reservation and they were very accommodating. Ordered mezza, calamari and octopus for apps. All three dishes were really flavorful. For dinner we tried the sea bass, lobster ravioli, burger, beet salad and brussel sprouts. The sea bass and burger had rave reviews. The lobster crawfish dish and brussel sprouts were pretty standar fair. Will likely not order the beet salad next time. The kitchen is made from scratch so orders for apps and dinner were taken upfront. Service could be better. When we walked in at the front desk there was an extended heated discussion about a take out order between staff while we stood their to be checked in. Throughout the night service was very li

Went as a group of 3 on a Wednesday night at 6 for dinner. We couldn't get a reservation online but really wanted to try it so we walked-in and literally got the last seats in the whole place, at the bar. The bartenders were nice and meant very well but the service was slow. You could tell that they were overwhelmed. It took a while to get anything, drinks or food but the place was buzzing, nicely lit and cool decor so we didn't mind. For drinks, I heard great things from those I went with about the baklava old fashioned, smoked and regular as well as the pomberry cosmo. These were the most popular drinks being made by the bartenders that night. I had the el diablo which was also incredible. For food, the chicken pot pie and the salmon were favored. I ordered the lamb shank, which wasn't bad. I didn't feel heavy by the end although it was a lot of meat. They brought us a dessert on the house (so nice of them) and it was also good, not too sweet. I would recommend just make sure you get a reservation if you want a dinner spot. By time we left around 9:30 it was starting to slow down so if you're planning to go for drinks I would go then.

Grilled pork chop with green beans and collard greens

I came here about 2 months ago with a party of 5 and we had a great time. The staff was very accommodating and our server frequently checked in on us. The apps/side we ordered were the fried calamari, fried brussels sprouts, roasted mushrooms and baked ham & mac and cheese. All were delicious and would order any of those again. My entree was the pork chop. Unfortunately I could not eat the mashed potatoes so I swapped it with green beans. The pork chop was delicious! The outside with just slightly charred but not enough to give it that charred taste. I want to say it was the seasoning that was charred. The inside was cooked perfectly and would 100% come back to get the pork chop again. Highly recommend and glad to have another great restaurant in Conshy

For starters, one of the funniest things I think I've ever said while having a meal was with a friend when I stated "omg everything I am eating and drinking. Today is tickling my palette!" and this is a perfect way to describe my experience today at the rabbit hole. For starters, the environment is incredible. I feel like I literally stepped into a super fancy Alice in Wonderland film! The decor is gorgeous, from the deep purple velvet barstools, to the dark green textured wallpaper and the royal rabbit artwork on the walls, it's so fabulously done I had to take a video and send it to my daughter! Then there's the drink menu, I cannot describe how clever these drink combinations are. We tried the mad queens elixir and the queens garden and they had the most delicious and unique flavor combinations. You just have to try them! The Food selections, and as our waiter informed us, they change regularly. They are unique and delicious and served homemade to our table. We had a very short wait time for me to order food, and it arrived at the table in large portions and we couldn't even finish everything we were so full!! We tried the sampler of dips and breads and a spicy flatbread.... But just looking over the menu there were so many different things to try. We have to come back for the next trip sooner than later. Our final event to report for the night was as we were getting ready to pay the check. A fabulous woman came up to our table and asked if we would like to stay for the trivia night. We were pleasantly surprised, and the event is on Wednesdays from 7 PM to 9 PM the place, filled up very quickly in anticipation of this event. And the crowd was fun and vibrant as was the woman who officiated. The game itself was so much fun, and it really did put the cherry on the Sunday for our entire experience! Our waiter was wonderful, offering us recommendations and gave us amazing service. And the last thing we heard from was the woman who was announcing the trivia game telling us she would love for us to come back that we were so much fun. That little extra special kind word really just made this such a great culinary experience and overall great memory. I highly highly suggest if you live in this area, this should be your local go to. And if you're a visitor that's coming in for a short day, this place is definitely worth coming in and patroning! 5 stars Rabbit Hole!!

I've never heard of this place which is surprising because as I said it's right up my alley. It's not on the Main Street and instead nestled in the neighborhood a few blocks away which might explain why. The cocktails are non-traditional and certainly interesting, but I quite enjoyed them. For those who want to be less adventurous, they have a big wine list. The food was very good, albeit a bit pricey for what we got. My fiancé and I shared the tomato soup and grilled cheese for an appetizer and I gotta say that was probably the best part of the meal. My pizza and my fiancé's French dip sandwich were good but nothing to write home about. Our waitress was great! Very attentive and nice, always asking if we needed anything. Overall I will definitely be back here at some point. The only thing I gotta ding the place for is the prices. It's a little bit too steep. Our check for what we got should have been like $30-$40 less. But, then again it is Conshohocken and that's somewhat normal.

Was there earlier this month for a retirement party of 50+ people with lots of different tastes and dietary restrictions, but Hook & Ladder had us all covered. My table and I tried the generously sized charcuterie board, Brussels sprouts, mushroom soup (soooo good!!), and for my entree, I ordered the braised beef rib (also excellent). We had a lot of salmon orders at the table, too, and every plate was empty before the dessert menus came around -- I didn't try the crème brûlée or bread pudding, but they both looked like a nice end to a great meal. The staff had a bit of a hard time keeping up with drink orders and refills, but we're a pretty heavy drinking crowd with a lot of different tastes, so that's no surprise. They were friendly and timely in clearing plates and silverware though, and the bartenders were friendly and swift. It's not easy accommodating such a large group, so I can see us coming back here for future big events. I can also see how it would be a good place to celebrate any kind of special occasion with a smaller crowd, too.

Our table was pre-set with silverware wrapped in cloth napkins, water glasses filled and appetizer plates. My appetizer plate looked like it went through the dishwasher but had lots of crusty food stuck on it. It was gross. I cannot believe that plate made it to the table for a patron to see. The person setting the table had to be blind. Also, my water had a partical or small bug. I was concerned about the cleanliness of the place. I didn't want to ruin it for the others so I let it go. A big $90 disappointment!! The pork sandwich looked like a can of wet dog food put on top of a hoagie roll! In Philadelphia, when you order a pork sandwich with provolone, broccoli rabe, and long hots you do not expect to get what you see in this photo! It was so wet that bun was soggy all the way through. Worse than cafeteria food. The tomato/burrata sandwich was about 5-inches tall and there was no way to get it in your mouth. The cucumber was sliced too thick and the mound of arugula centered on top of the tomato like a dome pushed everything up and over the sides. It might have been a great sandwich if it had been one thin layer of tomato, one thin layer of burrata, one thin layer of pickled onion, one thin layer of arugula, and one thin layer of cucumber, with pesto on a delicious ciabatta roll but it wasn't. What is it with restaurants who think things have to be supersized and over-stuffed?! In this case, everything slid off the sandwich and it could not be put back together. They should have called it a Humpty-Dumpty. Just trying to eat it was embarrassing and super messy. Didn't care for the mac & cheese at all. It was too runny and I did not care for the flavor. The menu was not specific enough to know what they put in it to make it taste the way it did. I have made mac & cheese with all types of cheese and love them all but you can never go wrong with good old plain mac & cheese with no fancy flavorings. They served it with a spoon for a reason - you couldn't eat it with a fork! The cheese sauce fell right between the tines when I tried. Great ambiance and the service is always adequate. I have had better food here so I hope they improve these 3 dishes before I return. I don't fancy spending $90 for lunch that I can't eat.
