If you look at my review history you will see that I'm pretty lenient on reviews, but I have to be honest when I have a less than at least mediocre experience. I went here on a Wednesday night with some friends around 6:55pm. Upon first entering, the place was packed so I knew there would be a wait. No problem. Both the Flyers and Sixers were playing so it's to be expected. The hostess told us 25-30 minutes. Not a problem. 35 minutes went by and I went to check on our status and she told us there were still 2 people ahead. Not great but ok. 50 minutes go by and I check again. Still 1 person ahead of us. We were finally sat after 60 minutes around 7:55pm. I'm sorry I know it's just an estimate but you cannot say it's going to be 25-30 minutes and it will ends up being 60 minutes. That's double the time. I don't have a problem with a 60 minute wait on a busy night but you need to make that clear up front. We probably would have went somewhere else if we had known that from the beginning. So already not off to a great start. We started with some appetizers (Wings, Nachos, and Cheesesteak Rolls). All of these were pretty good and this definitely where this place shines. Another pro is that they have a TV at every table so that's pretty cool. Unfortunately that's where the pro's to this restaurant end. I ordered the crab cake sandwich as my meal. I can say without a doubt that it was the worst crab cake I've ever had. It was extremely dry and overcooked. What's worse is that it was supposed to come with a spicy aioli which would have helped the dryness at least. That was nowhere to be seen on the sandwich. My friend ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. He was also was unsatisfied and stated it was dry. The menu stated it was supposed to come with slaw on it, but it was just shredded cabbage, there was no slaw to it. My other two friends ordered some more wings and that's definitely the route I wish I had gone. Lastly, our waitress didn't clear off anything on our table throughout our meal so we were having to play Tetris with the empty appetizer plates and our entrees. Overall I can't recommend this place for anything other than grabbing a pint and some wings while watching the game. Wait was too long, entrees were terrible, and waitress was inattentive. read more

Had a client in town for an event that ended Saturday and decided to stop here for dinner. Not a very good first impression. We were seated outside. We ordered calamari as an appetizer; I ordered the Smoked Brisket French Dip sandwich and upgraded to onion rings vs. fries; my client ordered the Jambalaya with a Caesar Salad. Neither of us had drinks. Two servers attended to our table. The calamari and and Caesar salad were served first. Calamari was served with a jelly like Asian tangy sauce which was awful. We did requested marinara--which took 10+ minutes to arrive. Caesar salad was served with no dressing--had to flag down the server for that. Smoked Brisket French dip was really not good. The smoked beef is an interesting concept but regular roast beef would be much better. The guy who delivered the food to the table dropped 2 of the onion rings on the ground and didn't bother to replace them. I requested a second cup of Au jus because the small solo cup is barely enough for 1/2 the sandwich. Never received the second Au jus, yet I was charged $1.00 for it on the bill! My client said the Jambalaya was too thick and the beef inside was smoked. Maybe the same beef as my sandwich. I am sure this place is best for watching Eagles, Flyers and Phillies and eating bar food. Would be hard pressed to return here. read more

Love the Boathouse, have been visiting for over 30 years. I had an all American burger today and it was fantastic. 10 ounces of what I believe tasted like sirloin and delicious bacon accompanied by fresh hot fries. It was difficult not ordering wings but the burger and the Buffalo chicken salad hit the mark. Definitely recommend the burger or the wings with hot honey garlic sauce , the best. Following a tournament game at the nearby Proving Grounds, we rolled in on Sunday evening. The weather being near perfect helped us enjoy a sizable table in a sidewalk chalet. Expectations are good pub type fare, and a couple IPAs. Flanigan's hits perfectly in that category. The wings really are worth an outing. The roast beef panini was a hit with the post game 15 yo who will take or leave fries, but these he commented on how good they are. Salads, chic Caesar and Buffalo chic both fresh and ample. I've given this restaurant too many chances. The hostesses are always difficult about seating. The food is always hit or miss. We went for an Eagles game recently and took a shot after their first touchdown. A bit later the Eagles scored again and we asked for another round and the waitress Maddy told us we needed to wait a little bit because it would be a long game - such a weird buzzkill for absolutely no reason. Boathouse is our first choice for local sports bar with great bar food, wide selection of beers and cocktails. I love the variety of beers on tap including lots of local beers. The bottle shop is very convenient and I did not realize they also have wine to purchase! I ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap and vegetable of the day. I was expecting canned green beans, no... these were super fresh, crisp and delicious. Not to mention garlicky. The burger with mushrooms and onions was delicious as well. One of the few restaurants open later on a Sunday night. Although it was late, the service was great. The fish and chips were delicious. A large serving of fish and the fries were hot. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because it was more of a bar atmosphere than a restaurant and there were lots of loud customers hollering at the bar. read more

We love the ambiance, the beer list and drinks are all fantastic. So 5 out of 5 for decor, private tv's at the table and overall esthetic. It went left when we ordered the wings. Eight wings was $13 and they looked more like chicken drumsticks. We ordered them extra crispy but they were not crispy due to the size and barely any sauce. This was my first visit here, and I will definitely come back! When my friend and I sat outside, it felt like we were at the beach, because of how the seating was outside and just the vibes in general. Kaitlynn was our waitress, and she did a great job! She was funny and attentive, and did a great job of getting you to order more drinks! LOL! Their food and drink menu had many options to choose from and their portions were decently sized. The Nashville chicken sandwich I had was just okay. It is made with dark meat, which I'm not a fan of, neither the choice of bread (ciabatta). It was great portions which is a good value. I've been going to Flanigan's Boathouse since 1993 when I worked down the street in Conshohocken. It's now almost 30 years later, and I live in North Carolina, but when I'm in the area (at least once a year), I always make a trip to "The Boathouse." Back in the day, they used to sell a tuna steak sandwich that was absolutely huge, perfectly cooked, and surprisingly reasonably priced. It was my go to. That hasn't been around for a while, but that's ok. (Please bring back the tuna steak sandwich.) I ate there recently, and was really, really impressed with the food. I don't know if anything has changed in the past few years or not, but were the food has always been at least decent, on this last visit, it was noticeably better. The New England clam chowder was probably the best version of that I've ever had in a restaurant. That's a must have for me at any restaurant that sells it, and this once was spectacular. I'm getting that next time for sure, although I'd really like to try the French onion soup as well. For the first time, I tried their cheesesteak. Now, I can't get a good cheesesteak in North Carolina, and I know everyone in the Philly area either makes a good version of this sandwich, or they don't stay in business long. The Boathouse's version was everything I ever wanted in a cheesesteak. It's almost dauntingly large, on a perfect, chewy roll, with lots of tasty beef, onions, and cheese. So even though The Boathouse is a little piece of comfort food nostalgia for me, their food and service is really solid, and I plan on being a (semi) regular for the next 30 years. read more

Nice location, decor, staff and crowd. This is the mixed bunch you expect to find in CONCHEY! This restaurant has something for everyone especially if you are a sports fan. There are plenty TV's throughout and one in each booth. During the NFL season you can get Bud Light aluminum can $3 a pop. You can also order food and beer to go. I started with the French Onion Soup it was delicious, slightly salty but that could be from the plentiful amount of cheese. YUMMY! Next up the crab dip a great presentation but meh, nothing special! It was served with nicely crisp house made chips lightly dusted with old bay seasoning. You could taste the texture of the crab and it's slight flavor but it was mostly filler. The best wings around and the sweet potato fries with warm maple syrup for dipping are the perfect combination. The servers are super efficient and just so friendly. In one visit we had our 6 and 4 year old grandsons and they took them Over to the huge fish tank and even pulled a chair over so they could see. They go the extra mile for sure. Don't let the previously unassuming entrance fool you, Boat House stands out as one of the best bars in the Philadelphia suburbs. They have done an amazing job of getting creative in light of COVID restrictions and the new outdoor setup is incredible. The booths have individual TVs and the larger tables are situated with a great view of big screen TVs. Once you make your way inside things are as great as they've ever been as the bar gives off a welcoming vibe for anything from a post-work happy hour to a kickball pregame. No matter where you sit you will be treated to great service, good beer, and better food. The staff are always attentive. The beer is constantly rotating to highlight local breweries and classic favorites. They do a great job of offering a menu for any taste without trying to stretch themselves too thin. Their wings are what keep people coming back but their specials are also worth stopping in for. Whether it is the tried and true favorites or the excitement of trying something new, Boat House is the definition of a one stop shop. read more

We came here for their Wing It Wednesday. It is a great deal, getting 10 wings with every pitcher of beer for $10, and for 10 wings for a bottle of wine for $20. The Boathouse definitely has some of the best wings in Conshohocken with some of the best flavors to choose from as well. It was a chilly night, so everyone at the table ordered the French Onion soup to start. It was delicious. It came with a couple of pieces of overly toasted bread with almost burnt pieces of garlic on it. It went along perfectly with the soup. I wish I had more. For the wings, we got Thai peanut and standard buffalo. Both were good, but I probably wouldn't order the Thai peanut again. I wasn't such a fan of the unique flavor. Have tried this restaurant before and enjoyed the food so I decided to bring my friend who was visiting from Mexico. We ordered drinks and our server asked for our IDs where my friend presented her Mexican passport. The server said she could not accept it and went to talk to her manager where we were told that they wouldn't accept any form of ID if it was not from the US. I loved the Boathouse when I was there to drink and do Wing-it Wednesdays with friends and I wasn't disappointed when I came back with my husband and toddler. The Boathouse is also a go-to when we're in the area with any other family! Over the last couple of decades, I've probably been here 25+ times and it's always consistent: the food is great and there's always a big selection of beer. Oh, and the wings are AMAZING! There are TVs all over (with sports on) and a couple of huge fish tanks. There is also nautical memorabilia all over. With all of that around, my little guy was thrilled! Grabbed lunch here on a snowy weekend afternoon. The place was packed and warm - perfect spot to warm up and chill out on a cold winter day! Basic bar food and scene with drink specials daily. Menu isn't huge but has the standard bar food classics and a good list of salads and sandwiches. I got one of the daily specials - guacamole turkey burger with a side salad. Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the burger with a delicious helping of guac. For $10.99 - I was completely stuffed and satisfied.
