This restaurant is a breath of fresh air for Conshohocken…read more With most restaurants in conshy being owned by the same 3 food groups, there isn't much variety. We decided to try Salt & Stone recently since it was a new spot and this place did not disappoint. Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted by none other than the owners. Zara & Dimitri (not great with names but I think that's what they said) were very welcoming and patient as I inquired about all the work they've done with the interior. It looks a lot nicer inside than the previous restaurant. Now the important part. The food. Absolutely incredible. I am still disappointed I didn't try this place earlier. We started with the goat cheese lollipops (amazing), Mezze, and calimari (high quality). After the first bite, I knew we were in for a great dinner. For the main course, I ordered the Rigatoni & my wife ordered the pork chop. Both were top notch. I love a good old fashioned and I enjoy other people's takes on this. Theirs was something different with a pistachio rim. It did not disappoint. These folks know what they're doing and I'm still thinking about that meal over a week later.

Worth the visit whether you are local or just passing through Conshee. My group of seven decided to try Bar Sera for a Saturday night dinner and we were not disappointed. Known for their Detroit style pizza, it was immediately a good sign when we arrived and saw a steady line of people ordering pies to go. The staff had us seated relatively quickly and took our orders promptly, setting a great tone for the night. To really experience the menu, we skipped the family style prix fixe and built our own spread of small plates and pizzas to share. That decision paid off. The arancini bites were a hit, and the calamari stood out for its unique preparation. Gochujang honey calamari was a first for all of us and it absolutely worked. The pizza is where Sera truly shines. We were blown away by the Elm Street, a deceptively simple pie with tomato sauce, Wisconsin brick cheese and pesto that delivered big flavor. The Ash Street went in the opposite direction with complexity and boldness, featuring BBQ pulled pork, jalapeño pesto, cilantro, scallions and brick cheese. Having been to Detroit and sampled true Detroit style pizza, this felt like a genuine and well executed homage. The cocktail program deserves just as much praise. Drinks like the Nightmare on Elm Street with brown butter washed bourbon, brandy, lemon, apple sage honey, almond bitters, cranberry bitters and egg white, and the Lone Ranger with fig reposado, black pepper, Grand Marnier, lemon, brown sugar and Turkish tobacco bitters wowed the table with unique and bold flavors. Overall, Bar Sera is a fantastic neighborhood spot that punches well above its weight. Great food, inventive drinks and a lively atmosphere make it well worth a visit when you are in Conshee.

We came here for Valentines dinner this year. We weren't gonna go out this year because the…read morerestaurants in Philly we wanted to go to were already booked. But then when I was looking up their burger week menu I came across the valentines menu and it looked good, so I figured I would give it try. My husband's dinner was alot better than mine so I was eating some of his, even though we always share anyway. He got the oysters with a dragonfruit sauce and they were good. I ordered crab and corn soup with grilled focaccia bread. The soup itself was fine , but it was only half a bowl and not much crab in it. I would have liked more soup instead of the bread. I gave the bread to my husband because we got a good amount of bread for the appetizer and I didn't want to fill up too much. I probably should have ordered the calamari instead , that looked pretty good. My husband's scallops with risotto was very good. Seared perfectly, creamy risotto, good flavor. Normally that is what I like to order, but I got the crab pasta because I love crab. I was disappointed In this dish. The crab tasted a little too fishy like it went bad or something. I also got a number of shells in the crab I had to spit out. I feel like they could have mixed the crab with some kind of seasoning or flavors. It seemed like they just dumped the crab right out of the can into the pasta and didn't even clean the shells out first. And they didn't even put the pasta in any kind of sauce. I would have liked maybe a creamy sauce with it. The pasta was just in like a watery garlic broth, and it broke apart and crab went all in the water and I didn't even have a spoon to pick it up. Dessert was ok. I'm glad we got the dragonfruit cheesecake instead of the chocolate cake, it was refreshing . The tiramisu wasn't bad but it was still somewhat frozen. I was kind of surprised because we are fans of the Pieri group restaurants. We have been to their sister restaurant Stonerose for burger week for a number of years now and love it. We also came to burger week at bar sera the one year and really enjoyed theirs too. I wish they did them separate weeks so we could go to both . Maybe it was just an off night tonite. Sometimes valentines menus aren't as good as their regular menu. Maybe we learned our lesson to go out the week before valentines instead for next year.

Was there earlier this month for a retirement party of 50+ people with lots of different tastes and dietary restrictions, but Hook & Ladder had us all covered. My table and I tried the generously sized charcuterie board, Brussels sprouts, mushroom soup (soooo good!!), and for my entree, I ordered the braised beef rib (also excellent). We had a lot of salmon orders at the table, too, and every plate was empty before the dessert menus came around -- I didn't try the crème brûlée or bread pudding, but they both looked like a nice end to a great meal. The staff had a bit of a hard time keeping up with drink orders and refills, but we're a pretty heavy drinking crowd with a lot of different tastes, so that's no surprise. They were friendly and timely in clearing plates and silverware though, and the bartenders were friendly and swift. It's not easy accommodating such a large group, so I can see us coming back here for future big events. I can also see how it would be a good place to celebrate any kind of special occasion with a smaller crowd, too.

We were inquiring whether we need to secure a table when our friends who were in the restaurant walked past the hostess stand and told us we could take their spots. We also have friends in multiple tables that have seats to accommodate us. I wasn't sure what the issues were that could not be communicated. We have had great experience before. We got the burger when they just opened and I had been impressed of what we had and recommended everyone to share this dish we had a great experience with. We have been here over the past couple of years and a great experience almost all the time. We are throughly perplexed tonight. Our friend is playing live music tonight and we were there to support them and to support the place we saw as an asset for the community. When we came in,we were informed that the 'standing room at the bar' was at capacity we have never heard of. Being respectful,we inquired that whether we needed to secure a table to sit down. The hostess asked if we were 'dining' I replied we would get appetizers. At this time one of our friends came over and told us we could take his place and he was going downstairs. We didn't think much and took his place, we had a wonderful time talking to a couple at the bar until I tried to order a drink from the bar. We were told by the manager that the hostess did not feel comfortable with her interaction with us and that she needed to stand up for her staff and declined to serve us. No one understood the reason for this treatment towards us. We would really love for the corporate to explain to us why we were treated this way. I understand regulations and treating everyone equally as I worked in communities but I would love for the rule be clear and transparent as no one understood why we were treated the way we were. Please take a review at the surveillance video if you have it and let us know what was the interaction we had that was so out of line that we deserved this treatment from your management. W really loved and welcomed the new venue and utterly stunted but this treatment towards loyal customers

The decor has a California farmhouse feel with lots of wood accents and open shelving. Fortunately, we were given a quieter table in the corner off the main dining room although even that room was loud. We started off with drinks and appetizers. The Orchard and Oak bourbon cocktail in a tall glass tasted like a winter drink and was slightly sweet. We shared Daisy's Nuggets which I would definitely order again. Finally, nuggets with a little heat! A few more blue cheese crumbles would have been appreciated though. We also decided to try the Smoke Show pizza which was fabulous even though I'm usually not a fan of thicker crust pizza. I especially enjoyed the combination of flavors including the ricotta on top. As an entree, my husband ordered the Short Rib Ravioli which wouldn't have been enough for him without all the appetizers as the portion was small. It seemed more like an appetizer portion than an entree. The Smash Burger, however, was a hit. Our server sang the praises of Manny's Mussels saying you could drink the broth as a soup. Unfortunately, that was not the case as the broth was too oily. Also, there weren't many mussels. Additionally, the timing of these entrees was terrible. As we were enjoying our appetizers, the mussels and burger were brought out by a food runner. It seemed as though there was no communication between the food runner and the server who later apologized for the food coming out too early. Also, despite noting it on our reservation and actually calling and speaking to someone named Lily, our birthday chocolate cake was again brought out by an oblivious food runner with no candle. I asked him to please put a candle in it, and it was brought out a second time with a candle. Additionally, our first cup of decaf was lukewarm despite our server saying she had just made a fresh pot. Our second cup was a bit warmer. Overall, we enjoyed our food and the ambiance. However, the kitchen needs a system to communicate with the servers, food runners, and reservationists in order to make it a better experience for diners.

Our table was pre-set with silverware wrapped in cloth napkins, water glasses filled and appetizer plates. My appetizer plate looked like it went through the dishwasher but had lots of crusty food stuck on it. It was gross. I cannot believe that plate made it to the table for a patron to see.
