Everything I have to say about the food is that the food was perfect. Unbelievable. Every morsel was intentional and done to perfection. The issues I have that night are related with the service. I ordered an old-fashioned and was delivered just the bourbon. I ordered salad without anchovies and was given a salad with extra anchovies. And then there was the server with the attitude. I guess because of the correction on the drink order when I asked the same lady for my check her comment was oh welcome to you again. Granted she had written my drink order down on a piece of paper. How she got it wrong then proceeded to get it wrong and then give me attitude about it later was not acceptable. This would have been a great first date place because of the atmosphere and ambiance and the low noise level, but the service didn't match the delivery of the food. read more

I remembered this place was on Louella court before. Husband took me here as a surprise for my birthday and I was so excited to finally try it! It was one of the best places we've eaten at in the Philly suburbs. Since moving from center city we've really struggled to find good restaurants on/around the main line. Everyone talks about nectar, blue elephant and goats beard etc and we do not think any of them are good at all. At the table is one of the very few places that are actually good around here and we loved it! Food here is superb. We were pleasantly surprised with the amuse-bouche starter. Such a nice touch. Then we got apps. We love the mushroom toast app.... Seriously one of the best things I've ever had! The thrice fried French fries were also delicious! We split a mushroom tortellini and rack of lamb. Both 10/10. The tortellini is a smaller portion size imo so if you're starving get more food than just that. The rack of lamb was cooked perfectly. Absolutely delicious. And the mashed potatoes and artichoke it came with were also super good - I didn't expect to like the artichoke but it was so yummy and flavorful. Everything here was great. Constant water refills - our server ashley was really friends and attentive. This was a very nice dining experience and a really cute interior as well. We came here for our anniversary dinner. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and attentive and our waitress was playing both hostess and waitress but still managed to do both with such grace and happiness. The food was also top notch! I got the wagyu steak special and my husband got the lamb chops. I was worried because the pictures on other reviews made the portions look so small for the price, but we were so full we ended up taking some home so we could have room to split a dessert! read more

My wife and I got the fixed menu. The three stars represents price be quality: I think this should have been about half the price for the quality of food. The melon soup was very good, but didn't find anything special in the rest of the menu. Scallops and bacon? I can cook at home. Octopus that only tasted of char? I can cook that poorly at home. Service and the cocktails were very good, so much so I'd recommend this only as a cocktail bar. There's too much other much more reasonably priced food in the area to revisit here--but some folks just really like overspending, so kudos to them. read more

This is about management or above: We made a reservation for a birthday dinner well over a week ago. It was confirmed. Someone from the party called to double-check on this a day or so ago. What reservation? We have no reservation! This is an incredibly busy time. So much so that "losing" a reservation means someone loses their dinner. They didn't call to tell us. It just "disappeared." Nice start - think it was a salmon mouse on either cucumber or wonton chip. Langoustine toast ~4/5. Tasty and quite decadent with the langoustine, uni, and caviar. Forgot the other tasting menu dishes, but overall was quite tasty. Seafood tower, 150 ~4/5. Tasty and a huge variety of different seafood that included lobster, oysters, scallops, caviar, and ahi tuna. NY strip and braised beef cheek, 60 Tallegio potato gratin, braised baby spinach, red wine bordelaise ~4/5. Tasty, although there was one piece of beef that was slightly too chewy. The tasting menu at At The Table is definitely in the running for my favorite BYOB dining experience! Every course was extremely well thought-out, with the small details actually being the shining stars. I can't rave enough about the ricotta tortellini (with king crab, uni, & crispy prosciutto), perfectly cooked duck breast (with honey & lavender), & tres leches cake for dessert. All of that amazing food in a BYOB atmosphere that also has live music?? You can't beat it. I hear the restaurant is moving to a bigger location, and that is much deserved. We did the tasting menu. The food was really good but my wife had two bones in her salmon. When she didn't finish they asked and covered one of the wine tastings. That was not our ask but nice they noticed. The waiter was friendly and helpful but didn't add any information about the wines. The wines were all except one sub par with a few being New York wines. The food was VERY disappointing. The only dish that was acceptable was the beet salad appetizer. I had the pan seared foie gras, which was relatively tasteless and liquid other than the pan seared coating, as well as the accompanying tasteless brioche and sauces. We waited over 50 minutes after our appetizers were done for main courses. The King crab with risotto was totally overcooked, mushy crab and little of it (for $45!), and the risotto was also absolutely tasteless as well as it feeling like overcooked rice. I asked for salt to give it some taste, which did nothing to make it better. The Dover sole was acceptable, however for $46 we expected it to have some interesting tastes, which it didn't. Thank goodness that the service was very good. Also the place was packed with noise levels very high so conversation across the table was difficult. I had the pleasure of having dinner with friends last night At the Table. We all choose to have the tasting menu with the wine pairings. While looking over the menu, it seemed interesting and well curated with some unusual wine pairings, so it seemed like the right way to go. It did not disappoint! Our amuse was Greek Salad. A perfect starter on a warm summer evening. It was followed by a Beef Carpaccio served with a Lemon Truffle Aioli, Parmesan and capers, which was paired with a French, un-oaked Chardonnay. It was a great pairing, and once again, a delightful dish on a warm summer evening. For the second course, a Langoustine Toast on Pullman Bread layered with uni, egg yolk confit, caviar, and chives. The presentation was beautiful, and it had a delightful blend of flavors pairing well with the French Viognier served with this course. Our third course was the item the piqued my interest while looking at the menu, Mexican Street Corn. It was just as good as any that I've had in Oaxaca. The dish was paired with a Sicilian Sauvignon Blanc, that was reminiscent of Marlborough Bay, NZ, Sauvignon Blancs with nice acidity and notes of eucalyptus and grapefruit. The fourth course was Duck Breast. I love duck breast and this did not disappoint. The accompanying apricot, peach accompaniments with a citrus duck jus added some bright fruit notes and added contrast to the earthiness of the duck. The red blend served with this course was an unusual wine coming from the Ventoux region of France. The primary grape varietal of this wine was Grenache. It paired well with the duck. To finish the meal, there was a lovely peach tart. A wonderful finish for the Chef's menu. I will gladly come back to At The Table on my next visit to Philadelphia. And, I would most likely have the Chef's Tasting Menu with the wine pairings. After 45 years in the restaurant industry, it's wonderful not to have to think about what to have for dinner, of what to drink with it, too. I ordered a Flat iron steak, it is the most terrible steak I ever had , it is just like a raw meat with black surface, I don't know how they cook the steak, does not look like it was pan sealed or grilled, it was not good, but cost $55. We finally got there this weekend for a night out with my wife and sister in law. The food was out of control delicious and incredibly crafted. We had a tough tim picking an app or two, so sampled a few which were just top notch, delicious and incredible. Colossal shrimp with the toppings, lamb meatballs, and the famous mushroom toast were all exquisite. The drinks were different and incredible, and I can't say enough about the service. We were treated like celebrities by everyone on their staff. Tara and Alex have done an incredible job with everything from the design, food and service. I actually resonated very well with another yelp review (Kevin) on this restaurant. After seeing all the high reviews and recommendations for their tasting menu, I was eager to try this place out with my partner. The stars finally aligned and I had a chance to celebrate my partner's birthday out in Wayne after driving around Pennsylvania chasing fall foliage. Upon arrival, we were seated outside in a tented area. This was a little unexpected as I placed a seat for standard dining, however, we were optimistic when greeted by a hospitable staff and a warm terrace. Not ideal due to the asphalt and uneven surface, but we were here for the food and experience. Let me first say, the staff is amazing! Very hospitable, made us feel at home, and always checked on us with a smile. Cc and I forgot the other young gentleman's name were both phenomenal and knowledgeable. They were the saving grace for this review to be honest. I will say, when dinner started to pick up, we were checked on less, but no harm no foul. Okay, onto the food. The main draw for us to come was the tasting menu, but we had a late lunch and couldn't stomach a 6 course meal, so we opted for a La carte. Butternut squash: Excellent! Very creamy and the creme fresh helped lift the flavors. We licked this bowl clean. Lamb Meatballs: Tahini base with dill and pickled vegetables. Both the base and vegetables were spot on. Right amount of dill to balance the dish and vegetables were pickled perfectly. The lamb, however, was fairly gamy. Now, I'm no culinary expert, but I've had delicious lamb that didn't smell. This had that distinct odor and taste. Chicken of the wood shepherds pie: This one was a bit of a let down. First, it was not served hot, more on the lukewarm side. I'm going to point to the big dinner crowd for this coming out as it did. Now, I've had amazing hen of the wood where it was grilled and seasoned to perfection, and it just melted in your mouth. This one, for some reason, was rubbery. And the pie itself was very one note in my opinion. You got starch and creamy, but that was it. The part that saved this dish was actually the pastry. It was super flakey, buttery, and overall a great bite. The rest, fell flat. Pheasant: This also came out lukewarm. The pheasant was good, but it was on the dry side. Aside from the protein, I felt the rest of the dish needed work. I can see what they were going for, but flavors were not balanced and were not cohesive. You needed to fork every ingredient together to get enough salt and freshness, where I would expect a French restaurant to highlight the main ingredient, the pheasant, and use others to compliment slightly. I found the pheasant a little under seasoned and everything else on the plate dry and rushed together. And lastly, the dish did not look super appetizing. Presentation needed work. Bread pudding: Thinking the pastry in the chicken of the wood was pretty good, I thought this dessert could be a nice finish. Unfortunately, it didn't work for us. The dessert was pretty doughy and on the harder side. Not warm and fluffy. And again, this was lukewarm. The ice cream was 1/3rd melted. I didn't take a picture because it also didn't look super appetizing. Overall, At The Table BYOB did not meet our expectations sadly. I expected more from all the reviews. Coming from Center City and haven eaten at many amazing restaurants in NY and the West Coast, this place missed the mark. Had the prices been lower, I could rate this higher, but for $45 an entree and $22 for some appetizers, I would save your money and eat in the city. Something also super nit picky, but something another reviewer mentioned was silverware sizes and plates were not consistent. I wasn't expecting a Michelin table set, but I would have liked to have the same spoon and plate as my partner for the same meal. This all being said, I am all for second chances and do think it could have been an off day. P.S. I am not sure if I would come back for the tasting menu having not tried it. Apparently, it changes every 2 weeks, which I feel isn't enough time to refine flavors and presentation. From the performance of their a la carte (which I assume is more structured and regular), I would give it some thought before trying. I had not heard of this place but when I had the opportunity to use their take out service, I was absolutely impressed with their service and food! Of course now they are take out only which is interesting for an upscale super French spot but coordinating meals and pick up was completely easy and their coordinators responded very quickly to my questions. Picking up was like taking an entire catering order in mini size- all the food was completely secure and packaged professionally and the portion sizes insane. Opening up at home I could immediately smell the herbs and still see the delicate sauces added onto the mushroom toast- as if I had just been served at the table. It is indeed all very French food with richness and layering of flavor I could have been at a bistro in the French countryside and they had everything- main course, veg and potato, bread, and dessert. All simple food but created with time and ingredients to take it to a memorable level. I did think the potatoes a bit al dente and dry, but still very cheesy and delicious. And while the dessert was a simply brownie (it was a half pan's worth!) it had that perfect balance of richness to go with tea or coffee. read more

Sesame crusted tuna with wasabi sauce Satay chicken skewer Beef tartare on cracker Shrimp ceviche crisps And my favorite crabcakes was the butlered line up. Then fabulous dinner with fresh oysters, their famous mushroom toasts, duck stuffed pasta in broth, pan seared scallops with bok choy and forbidden rice, filet with romesco sauce and potatoes all topped by deconstructed key lime pie. Breakfast today was horrible... I thought it was the worst meal of 2018. My wish was that At The Table would be the best meal I had of the year and I really think it was! When we arrived, Alex, the executive chef jokingly (I think) mentioned how my wife has been harassing him all week, which she was... She does that to me every day of my life... Tons of questions, but he said he wanted to make sure everything was perfect for her. It really was. Alex went over the entire menu and said, why I am telling you all of this, you are getting the Wagyu. We tried to order different items of the five course meal so that we could share and maximize our culinary experience. After the second course, I was looking around the room and looking at the Julia Child quote and then I noticed the cookbook in the window. Robuchon caught my eye first, but then the Noma cookbook I acquired this year was in the window too. My wife's only minor complaint was that the menu had a few subtle changes, but I've always been on the other side encouraging that. I'd much rather have a restaurant run out of something then be able to pull it from the freezer or having a ton of unfresh items laying around. With the Noma cookbook, I probably can't prepare any of those recipes, because I don't have access to those ingredients, but it's about acquiring the ingredients around you and making something fantastic with that. At the Table made substitutions from the web menu to what they offered for New Year's Eve, but everything was just so great. The foods complimented themselves with the luxurious theme of New Year's Eve running through all of the dishes. I'm not going to get into what I ordered, because the menu changes. Just don't look at the menu beforehand and just come in for an exciting meal. I am so happy that we didn't host a party this year and instead went out for a meal. Tara was a delight to work with in choosing the appropriate menu for a very special luncheon that we could serve on our own, due to Covid precautions we were taking. The food was beyond fabulous & I would highly recommend them for any event. Of course dining at their charming location in Wayne is also quite special. Located in a charming area right next door to Wayne's downtown, At the Table BYOB fell short of my expectations as soon as I sat down. From all the glowing Yelp reviews I had seen, I had added this to my bucket list of local restaurants to hit as COVID subsides and promptly made a reservation for an early summer night. After being sat down in the grassy area with silverware of all shapes, sizes, and colors, we chose to have the St. Louis BBQ Ribs, Mushroom Toast, and Lobster. The ribs were alright--dry in the true style of St. Louis BBQ--though it had more artificial undertones than a tasty profile. The mushroom toast, featured heavily in other Yelp reviews, was much more interesting but a little soggy. The lobster though failed to make much of an impression at all. Taken together, the food was not bad, but I was hoping for tastier food from a restaurant of this caliber and at peak hours. As for service, it was a bit difficult to get a hold of someone to place an order. It took a little bit of time for the food to come out, understandable given the number of diners and the small size of the establishment itself. At the time in this phase of outdoor dining, we were spread out in the park area outside the restaurant, so I certainly appreciated it. Overall, mediocre food, adequate service, but perhaps not somewhere I would return again for this price point. read more

A stellar modern French dining experience. Both execution and menu composition were nearly perfect. The lobster bisque was light, fluffy, and impossibly eggy. The mushroom toast hit earthy flavors with an ode to truffles. The foie gras was ok. The braised short rib with grits was very good. The nutella cheesecake was flavorful and found a delicate balance of sweet and salty. I was impressed that the head chef came out and greeted me upon arrival. This shows a shameless dedication to excellent service. The meal started with a bread course. The bread was ok. Could have been served warmer and softer, but the flavor was there. The bread was fresh and spongy enough in the crumb with a crisp crust that was just robust enough. The butter was splendid. It was creamy, salty, and smooth like velvet gliding over my positively joyous glistening oral orifice. Next the lobster bisque was pretty much perfect. The server poured the bisque from a ceramic carafe. The bisque base was incredibly fluffy, like almost aerated, yet dense and full bodied. I suspect this was from the kitchen's expert understanding of the emulsive properties of the egg. The flavor was adequately marine, without being overpowering. The lobster meat itself was just a little bit stringy in texture. The mushroom toast was again a stellar plate. The bread, similar to Texas Toast, was generously buttered and then slathered with truffle crême fraiche. The truffle flavor was not overpowering, but respectful of the overful palatability of the dish. The crumb of this bread was soft and chewy and very thick. It was a delightful accompaniment to offset the massive heapload of fresh (cremini?) mushrooms piled high on the two slices. This was a huge portion. The dish brought together earthy flavors from the mushrooms and truffles while balancing well with butter, crême fraiche, and doughy bread. Truly extraordinary. Next came the Foie Gras with Prosciutto accompaniment. This was the least impressive of the dishes. Foie I believe is best served mi cuit (basically seared exterior, raw inside.) This rendition was cooked through which stripped the foie of it's naturally funky buttery meatiness. The flavor was still OK, but it lacked the powerful livery/buttery punch from foie gras I've tasted elsewhere. The texture came to the palate with a more traditional liver pastiness/dryness which was just not quite at the execution level I'd prefer. Still, nevertheless a dish that was OK. Braised short rib was next. The short rib itself was extraordinarily tender and well seasoned. I did find that it lacked enough fat in its flavor profile and was maybe taken just 7-10 degrees to far. Nevertheless, a very tasty piece of meat. The grits were insanely smooth and more buttery possibly than the quiddity of "butterness" itself. If Platonic Forms exist, this was the incarnate Form of buttery smoothness. Just a spectacular complement to the short rib. I finished the meal with a nutella cheesecake. This was good. The flavor of nutella was well captured. The texture was decently smooth, though not incredibly so. The dessert had a fine balance of sweet and salty. I think this sweet ending could be touched up a bit with some added smoothness and the introduction of an acidic fruit sauce. All around, an excellent meal. I found the execution to be on par with some of the Michelin-starred establishments I've dined at recently. Perhaps what was lacking was culinary adventurousness. But, man it was an amazing meal. All my critiques are totally nitpicking. Really great place. Completely worth the money. Get a reservation and go there ASAP. read more

I made a reservation here for our anniversary dinner, and we really enjoyed our dinner! Unfortunately, the tasting menu wasn't available that evening, but we were able to order from the a la carte menu. They were really good about accommodating for my wife's gluten allergy, making adjustments as necessary. For appetizer, we decided to split the roasted beet salad. It tasted nice and fresh, with some good dressing, and it was nice to start with some veggies. We ended up each ordering a main course, and then another to split - scallops, duck, and the filet. All the proteins tasted wonderful - perfectly cooked! I've never had a filet with such a perfect crust on it, and the duck was nice and tender. Portions were a bit small, though, which is why we split another entree. We also ordered some desserts, and they tasted good, but textures on the pot de creme and creme brulee were a little weird. Overall, everything tasted great, and service was really good. A bit pricey, but I suppose to be expected for the Main Line. I would come back to try the tasting menu sometime! read more
