Not a great location, yet. Located in strip mall near new housing and office space where several restaurants have already failed. Pleasant inside with patio dining. We chose inside due to breezy conditions. First impression was casual server with dirty apron. Partner got pasta. I had the overcooked salmon with corn risotto. For the love of everything holy, if you're putting corn on my plate it better be fresh otherwise you are a greasy spoon diner. I think they have potential here. Just need to pick a style or personality and go with it

We hosted a bridal shower at Avola this past weekend and the event was perfect! As the MOH, I arrived early to set up. I arrived an hour and a half early and the staff had already set up the tables and chairs. They were so kind and extremely helpful! They helped me carry floral arrangements and décor from my car and consistently asked if I or the other bridesmaids needed anything. I know one of their names was Riley but I cannot remember the others' names. The ambiance of the restaurant went perfectly with the theme of the shower - Tuscan (lemons). The food was also delicious. We started off with meatballs and calamari, followed by a Caesar salad and I had the salmon, which was delicious. A few people at my table ordered the chicken which they were surprised to find out it had come in a sandwich (it did not specify that on the menu). The servers were very attentive to our needs. The drinks had taken a bit long to come out, but it was likely one bartender for a group of 30 people mainly ordering cocktails. I can't speak of the event planning process, but the day of the event went very well. Would highly recommend Avola for your event or shower!

Food was good but like most restaurants very short staffed. Not good for lunch if on a time crunch.

This restaurant gets a solid 4. The food here is very good, but there's something about the ambiance that my husband and I didn't enjoy. The decor inside is beautiful, but we felt that that seating was way too crammed and overly filled for the size of the building. The waiters kept bumping into our table during our whole time there. That aside, what bothered us the most was it was extremely noisy - literally every word during our conversation my husband was like "What? What? I can't hear you over the crowd." And it felt like we were yelling. The food itself was great. My pork chops were cooked perfectly and covered in a really sweet gravy. My husbands Bronzino was also prepared really nicely. I got our son some buttered noodles and even those were really tasty too. The real star of the show was the pizza. I didn't get a photo, but the margarita was delicious. Great bread, the right amount of cheese and a sweet sauce. I would come again but during a quieter lunch hour perhaps. Definitely not for a date night dinner due to the overly loud environment.

We had a great experience having our rehersal dinner at Avolas on a Friday night! The atmosphere, food and planning was great. The service and price could have been a bit better but all around had a very positive night with Avolas to kick off our wedding weekend!

I hate to have to put such a negative review out but it's warranted when food safety and customer service is important! When you find foreign objects in food, that poses a safety hazard. I had food to-go from the evening prior and found three chunks of cardboard today when eating for lunch. Imagine if your kid was eating that and didn't know what it was and choked?? Not to mention, having to call three times to get the phone picked up is inconvenient and to have a full voice box is also not appropriate for a restaurant. Even when picked up, the employee has no concern over hearing a foreign object was found in food and asks for me to call later, not taking down a name or complaint. I won't be dining here again, there is obvious carelessness in all aspects of the customer experience.

Peanut and Tree-nut Allergy Safe…read more Food was delicious and fresh. Everything we ordered was hot coming out, and tasted great. Waiter was friendly, helpful and it did not take long to get our food. I have a lethal Peanut and tree-nut allergy and had no issues eating here or communicating with the staff. At the time I came the only thing that has nuts is the deserts, so I was able to pick from the whole menu when it came to food and not worry about entree cross contamination which was a delightful surprise. This includes their vegetarian options which were also nut free. I am excited to go back and try more of their menu.

I'm providing this honest review as a constructive feedback for improvement…read more We came across this place online but were only able to try it recently...I was honestly disappointed by many things: First, when a place advertises shawarma meat and posts videos of the famous Lebanese shawarma revolving cone that grills the marinated meat as the cone turns, you would expect that the shawarma plate you order is an authentic shawarma meat cut off the shawarma cone...unfortunately, this was not the case at cafe baladi. I respect the owner who's advertising authentic homemade Lebanese food but the shawarma meat we got was not an authentic shawarma meat...this was meat that was cooked either in a pan or in the oven and was not tender because it was not probably marinated and it's not grilled on the shawarma cone. Placed that have the famous shawarma cone you can usually see in the restaurant either behind the counter or through a window in the back - this was not the case. Second the plate included the choice of hummus or baba ghannouj and tabbouleh...we picked baba ghannouj and we got the tabbouleh...again, the baba ghannouj did not taste at all authentic nor homemade...it tasted like the baba ghannouj in a conserved can that you find in grocery stores. Authentic baba ghannouj is made from grilled eggplant tahini lemon juice and salt. Third, the Lebanese tabboule is made from finely chopped vegetables (parsley, tomatoes, onions, lemon juice, and burgul). Unfortunately again this tabbouleh was not finely chopped and it lacked the burgul. We were really disappointed. The only positive thing was that the service was quick.

Authentic fresh Greek food. Owners from Crete. We had a large party (12) yesterday afternoon…read more Service was flawless. Food was spectacular. We started the meal with large cold platters of hummus, dips, olives, grilled peppers and pita. Our hot appetizers included grilled octopus, grilled calamari, fried calamari, and grilled shrimp. All outstanding. Everyone got their favorite Greek meals and the variety was incredible. All the food was served hot and fresh at the very same time. (Not an easy task, but they made it happen.) After everyone was done, a couple people "in the know" got their delicious Greek coffee. What a fun and delicious place to celebrate!

My husband, daughter, and I dined here on Saturday night. My hubby's office had ordered takeout…read morefrom here in the past, and as picky of an eater as he is, he talked about how good it was; so we thought we would try their dine-in experience together. We arrived around 5:45pm to a fairly empty restaurant, which often gives me pause; but as the night went on, it quickly filled up. We were seated and tended to promptly. The interior is cool and inviting, with Greek artwork and upbeat music to enhance the ambiance. Our server was attentive and blunt in a fun, friendly way -- make sure you bring your sense of humor so you don't take anything personally! I had a bowl of the Chicken Avgolemono soup, though the smaller cup would've been more than enough. It was nice and hot. My husband and daughter both got Souvlaki platters but didn't want their Dolmades so I happily ate those. I also shared their fries and part of my daughter's Pork Souvlaki. The Dolmades were some of the best I've ever had and the fries were amazing. But the pork. Listen, I rarely choose pork as my protein and I was very unenthusiastic about it, but it was possibly the best pork I have eaten in my life. It was super tender and juicy and absolutely full of flavor. Together with the fresh pita, tzatziki, and cucumbers... I didn't have words. My husband enjoyed his Lamb Souvlaki, but he tried a bite of the pork and shared my sentiments. We shared a piece of Baklava for dessert, which was also delicious. It was a wonderfully satisfying meal! Restrooms were bright and clean, albeit you have to walk through their office-like area to get to them and kind of feel like you're intruding. If you are in the area and like Greek food or want to try something different, I highly recommend giving this spot a try. I would welcome the opportunity to go back!
