It was a warm and sunny day to relax and enjoy delicious food and cocktails at the Chophouse Grille in Exton. We chose the patio for several reasons, it's a lovely area and we brought our puppy, (20 month old Newfoundland) for her first visit to our FAVORITE restaurant. She was well behaved too. We were greeted by Julia, our server, who immediately provided a large container of fresh water for our Lizzy Lou. Julia was very attentive and so pleasant. Made us feel like family. Samantha, one of the talented bar staff, made me a delicious spicy margarita, it was on point! My husband had a Grapefruit Crush, one of his favorite cocktails there and he was pleased as usual! As long as our pup was enjoying the shade provided by the big umbrellas we ordered food. We both decided on burgers, Turkey burger and the CH grille burger. Made just as we ordered! I am all about presentation, I know they were burgers, but the way they presented with the variety of layers and the rolls with grill lines on them, made them look extra appetizing. DELICIOUS Our visits to this Chophouse Grille in Exton is always a huge treat for us. The managers always make it a point to check on us, they are so very special. Dined at Chop House in Exton. It was our Anniversary and wanted to make it easy, casual, but decent dining experience. We chose Chop House for the service, quality, and coziness of their booths. We requested a window side table instead of one of the tables in the middle of the restaurant. They honored our request offering either a regular booth or hightop table. For our 5pm reservation we opted for the window side booth and the shade was pulled down so as not to cast a golden hour glare on us. Our server, Kendall, was attentive, friendly, and very professional. For appetizers, we ordered French Onion Soup and shared a Kennett mushroom flatbread. Soup was tasty but a little bit on the salty side. Still good. It paired well with the mushroom flatbread with a crisp crust, gooey cheese, and marinated mushrooms. Excellent combo! For our entrees, my husband ordered the chop house burger with fries on a seeded roll and I ordered the lettuce wrap with steak. Burger was dripping juicy all over the plate. Sopped up all that flavor with the fries. The lettuce wrap was flavorful. However, bib lettuce wasn't holding up to the task. I ended up shredding the bib lettuce and placing the carrot slaw, bean sprouts, and grilled steak cubes on top. More manageable and easier to eat this way. The peanut dressing drizzled on my salad made it perfect. For dessert we kept it simple: 2 orders of creme brulee topped with a mint leaf and a few raspberries. I loved the sound of the caramelized sugar cracking as the spoon cut in. The custard was so creamy. You definitely have to order the creme brulee here. Truly the happy ending to this meal. We look forward to dining at Chop House again. Maybe we'll bring the kids... maybe not. (It's a family friendly restaurant.) read more

Historically solid but recently disappointing. The apps and offerings for private cocktail parties (twice over the past two years) are very good. The buffalo shrimp are particularly good. The flatbread/pizzas are solid. Recent dinner experience was disappointing. The waitress recommended the spinach artichoke dip. The chips were good but the dip was not special. I had the French dip which has decent flavor but a weak (probably day old) roll. My wife had the burrata panzanella, which came with store-bought croutons (legit steakhouses must make croutons fresh). Long delay to get our bill but the wait staff is generally great. read more

Went for a birthday lunch and the experience was great. Our server Noah was very intuitive and made excellent suggestions. One of the members in my party had a small issue with their order and Noah was apologetic. He checked on us continuously throughout our visit. Had a fantastic first experience here and wanted to share. We had just come from another restaurant and had waited an hour and a half for our food, only for the order to have been forgotten and it to never come out. We were hangry and starving. We told our waitress this story, and in 10 mins, food arrived for us. She was amazing, did not catch her name unfortunately but we also had Kira, who may have been the manager, checking in multiple times on us and also providing great service. These ladies went above and beyond and had a true sense of urgency and empathy with our story and how hungry we were. Highly recommend and will definitely return. read more

My wife and I had dinner here and thoroughly enjoyed it. We are in town visiting so went with dishes that we don't find at home. I had the short rib bolognese and my wife had Cajun creole shrimp tortellini. I'm not sure they need anything else on the menu, both dishes were that excellent. Atmosphere is nice but a little loud. This restaurant continues to be a favorite of my family's! My most recent trip was over Thanksgiving week. We got a reservation the day before and were seated right away. Our server was assisted by a brand new server, and both were amazing! So friendly and they were great at their jobs! My dad and I always split the buffalo shrimp. It is the best app! One thing I love here is they change their menu seasonally. The scallops and risotto is always a favorite of mine, but this fall/winter iteration is my absolute favorite! It has scallops, herb risotto, with brussels, crispy prosciutto, and cranberry sauce. I will be dreaming of this dish for a long time! My dad had the almond crusted halibut. I had a bite and it was delish! I look forward to coming back here over the holidays! I will be getting those scallops again :) read more

Poutine was regular fries, needed more gravy, and were crispy like they had been broiled to melt the cheese. Again tasty, but not something I crave. I really had high hopes for the panzanella salad. Burrata is always good. The seasoning was just overpowering, a lot of black pepper, too much vinegar, not enough oil and the heavy application of pesto was not needed. Service and drinks were good. I got the pan seared scallops over risotto, It was good, but on the website it all had such a nice sear. The NY strip was big and juicy, and the green beans were okay and the fingerling potatoes were good. The house made steak sauce was unneeded for us, but you may enjoy it. The service was good, and this place works for a date or nice dinner option. We were too stuffed for dessert, which didn't have too many options anyway, but the entrees were worthwhile. read more

Reserved a table and tried for the first time. Was not disappointed. Ordered the calamari appetizer to start. Cooked perfectly. Both me and my wife enjoyed it tremendously. For diner I ordered the braised short ribs with yellow mash with side of vegetables. My wife ordered the 8oz fillet with green beans and fingerling potatoes. Both meals were great. My friend's parents are regulars here so I visited for a special occasion. The stars were the peach & ricotta flatbread, the Brussels sprouts, and the calamari. The calamari sauces were delicious-- green and red sauces. It was quite oily and mixed with a bunch of banana peppers. The mashed potatoes were soft & garlic flavored. I ordered the buffalo chicken flatbread for myself, and it was very cheesy! Incredible & personable service from our server Amanda. She was available for all our questions and made us feel welcomed. Got the filet mignon and it was super tender. It almost melted in my mouth and didn't need any sauce. The grilled asparagus on the side was fresh and lightly seasoned. Staff was very friendly and checked in at the right moments. It's a nice place for a slightly fancy dinner without being too formal. My drink was also made perfectly. Stopped in on Valentine's Day for a few martinis and some appetizers. Been here before a number of occasions, and while this is an OK venueI. It frankly reminded me of why I don't go there often. I find it overpriced for what you get - which means that the value equation is a bit lopsided. There was nothing wrong with the drinks that we got but when you price a martini at $14-$18 a pop, I find that to be gouging. We're not talking craft cocktails here. These are basic drinks. By the way, they don't really publish the prices of anything but the craft drinks which were actually price lower than the martinis that we got. Pretty much the same deal, and the appetizers - while they were well executed, the value equation was off - a bit pricey, for what you get. Service was pleasant, and OK but not great and it really wasn't all that crowded. I guess where that leaves me is that this is an OK place - but there are just too many other places where I get better bang for my buck. read more

The ChopHouse Grille is a fine-looking restaurant, clean, airy, and well appointed. But, for us, that is where the positive impression stopped. The drinks came in glasses filled with small ice cubes, which meant that they were soon watery. When told that the club soda was flat, our waitress told us that the bar tender told her that club soda was supposed to be flat. Personally, I have seen it this way only when used to clean glass or stainless steel. The strawberry sangria was weak and tasteless. When we told the waitress about the watery sodas, she quickly brought new brought new ones, and made sure we were charged for both. The calamari appetizer was obviously made from frozen product, not really bad, but not really tasty, and the red sauce served with it was room temperature and bland, neither a good marinara nor a spicy cocktail sauce. What was not provided were individual plates for the appetizer. When asked for them, the waitress brought four of them for the five of us. We didn't stay to have an entrée, we had had enough of poor food and mediocre service. read more

Green beans didn't have garlic listed but it looked like they were possibly sautéed in minced garlic? The Parmesan fries were not what I expected and tasted like they had a mayo drizzle on them (I am not a fan of mayo or anything similar). I thought these would be like Parmesan truffle fries (no sauce, just grated cheese in truffle oil). Dessert didn't really match the written description and we couldn't find pictures for an idea of what the mousse cake would look like but the "toffee" and "almond" did not exist.
