Had a fantastic first experience here and wanted to share. We had just come from another restaurant and had waited an hour and a half for our food, only for the order to have been forgotten and it to never come out. We were hangry and starving. We told our waitress this story, and in 10 mins, food arrived for us. She was amazing, did not catch her name unfortunately but we also had Kira, who may have been the manager, checking in multiple times on us and also providing great service. This restaurant continues to be a favorite of my family's! My most recent trip was over Thanksgiving week. We got a reservation the day before and were seated right away. Our server was assisted by a brand new server, and both were amazing! So friendly and they were great at their jobs! My dad and I always split the buffalo shrimp. It is the best app! One thing I love here is they change their menu seasonally. The scallops and risotto is always a favorite of mine, but this fall/winter iteration is my absolute favorite! It has scallops, herb risotto, with brussels, crispy prosciutto, and cranberry sauce. I will be dreaming of this dish for a long time! My dad had the almond crusted halibut. Poutine was regular fries, needed more gravy, and were crispy like they had been broiled to melt the cheese. Again tasty, but not something I crave. I really had high hopes for the panzanella salad. Burrata is always good. The seasoning was just overpowering, a lot of black pepper, too much vinegar, not enough oil and the heavy application of pesto was not needed. Service and drinks were good. Dined at Chop House in Exton. It was our Anniversary and wanted to make it easy, casual, but decent dining experience. We chose Chop House for the service, quality, and coziness of their booths. We requested a window side table instead of one of the tables in the middle of the restaurant. They honored our request offering either a regular booth or hightop table. For our 5pm reservation we opted for the window side booth and the shade was pulled down so as not to cast a golden hour glare on us. Our server, Kendall, was attentive, friendly, and very professional. For appetizers, we ordered French Onion Soup and shared a Kennett mushroom flatbread. Soup was tasty but a little bit on the salty side. Still good. It paired well with the mushroom flatbread with a crisp crust, gooey cheese, and marinated mushrooms. Excellent combo! For our entrees, my husband ordered the chop house burger with fries on a seeded roll and I ordered the lettuce wrap with steak. Burger was dripping juicy all over the plate. Sopped up all that flavor with the fries. The lettuce wrap was flavorful. However, bib lettuce wasn't holding up to the task. I ended up shredding the bib lettuce and placing the carrot slaw, bean sprouts, and grilled steak cubes on top. More manageable and easier to eat this way. The peanut dressing drizzled on my salad made it perfect. For dessert we kept it simple: 2 orders of creme brulee topped with a mint leaf and a few raspberries. I loved the sound of the caramelized sugar cracking as the spoon cut in. The custard was so creamy. You definitely have to order the creme brulee here. Truly the happy ending to this meal. We look forward to dining at Chop House again. Maybe we'll bring the kids... maybe not. (It's a family friendly restaurant.) read more

Stopped in on Valentine's Day for a few martinis and some appetizers. Been here before a number of occasions, and while this is an OK venueI. It frankly reminded me of why I don't go there often. I find it overpriced for what you get - which means that the value equation is a bit lopsided. There was nothing wrong with the drinks that we got but when you price a martini at $14-$18 a pop, I find that to be gouging. We're not talking craft cocktails here. These are basic drinks. By the way, they don't really publish the prices of anything but the craft drinks which were actually price lower than the martinis that we got. Pretty much the same deal, and the appetizers - while they were well executed, the value equation was off - a bit pricey, for what you get. Service was pleasant, and OK but not great and it really wasn't all that crowded. I guess where that leaves me is that this is an OK place - but there are just too many other places where I get better bang for my buck. read more

The ChopHouse Grille is a fine-looking restaurant, clean, airy, and well appointed. But, for us, that is where the positive impression stopped. The drinks came in glasses filled with small ice cubes, which meant that they were soon watery. When told that the club soda was flat, our waitress told us that the bar tender told her that club soda was supposed to be flat. Personally, I have seen it this way only when used to clean glass or stainless steel. The strawberry sangria was weak and tasteless. When we told the waitress about the watery sodas, she quickly brought new brought new ones, and made sure we were charged for both. The calamari appetizer was obviously made from frozen product, not really bad, but not really tasty, and the red sauce served with it was room temperature and bland, neither a good marinara nor a spicy cocktail sauce. What was not provided were individual plates for the appetizer. When asked for them, the waitress brought four of them for the five of us. We didn't stay to have an entrée, we had had enough of poor food and mediocre service. read more

Green beans didn't have garlic listed but it looked like they were possibly sautéed in minced garlic? The Parmesan fries were not what I expected and tasted like they had a mayo drizzle on them (I am not a fan of mayo or anything similar). I thought these would be like Parmesan truffle fries (no sauce, just grated cheese in truffle oil). Dessert didn't really match the written description and we couldn't find pictures for an idea of what the mousse cake would look like but the "toffee" and "almond" did not exist. While it was an unknown quantity--at least to me--it proved to be a solid restaurant with good food, large portions, and inventive drinks all at reasonable prices. While I didn't really eat any, the appetizers we ordered (the candied bacon and cheese plate and calamari) were hits with the group, and I very much enjoyed my steak, which typically comes with fingerling potatoes and green beans. At my request, the staff very kindly offered to switch out the potatoes with asparagus. The main course was delicious, and the grapefruit seltzer cocktail was surprisingly delicious. I restrained myself from ordering a second despite wanting it. The restaurant has high ceilings, a variety of seating options, tasteful decor, and an appealing bar area with high-tops. I'm glad that Chop opened a location in Exton. Their food is good. That said I thought they were cheap with their portion sizes. Things are also a la carte. They did not serve bread and there were no tablecloths. Another cost cutting measure because they don't have to pay to launder them. I'd advise anyone to skip Chop and head to Morton's in King of Prussia for what you're paying. I felt my short rib tacos were lacking. They were mushy without any sides. Mushy meat and onions on top. I should have e taken a photo. They were good but left me lacking. This place is a real gem in Exton. Everything that I had was delicious. The scallops and the beef & mushroom appetizer were particularly good. I also really enjoyed my espresso martini. They usually use hazelnut in their martini's but I asked to make it more classic and they nailed it. Natalie, our server was amazing.
