I highly suggest one never engage with the owners comments. Not only will he or his bartender tell you that they don't care if you stop coming there, or post on social media, they will remove your reservation, tell you "you are not welcome" at the restaurant but when told "I don't see you moving, I can get someone to help you to leave". I guess the customer is always right doesn't apply to the MARCHWOOD TAVERN. I am not the person that was treated this way but just couldn't help posting to nasty employee/manager of the restaurant that I observed. If you are a person of color, I would not recommend this establishment. My friend and I recently visited Marchwood Tavern while there was an adoption event taking place outside. We initially stopped because we love animals and were genuinely interested in seeing the puppies and kittens. We had also planned on grabbing something to eat afterward. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely unwelcome. Not a single employee from the tavern acknowledged us or greeted us. As we tried to walk through the crowd, people repeatedly failed to make room for us, even when we said "excuse me," leaving us to force our way through.- It was difficult not to feel singled out. As two Black women, this experience left us questioning whether we were being treated differently because of our race. We left feeling excluded, uncomfortable, and unwelcome. We had every intention of supporting the adoption event and then spending money at the tavern, but after the way we were treated, we chose to leave instead. I hope management reflects on how guests are acknowledged and treated. Everyone should feel welcome, regardless of what they look like. read more

Say what you will - but the MT is a local institution that combines watering hole with a great kitchen and live music. The weekly special ROCK IMHO. whether its the cheesesteak on monday, the wings on Wednesday, or the burger on thursday. All great - and even better a really great value for the price! Have gone for wings at least three times. $8.00 for 10 wings - and they are BIG. Burger is perfect as is the cheesesteak (believe it or not). My kinda place... divey but great. read more

I feel like I stumbled upon a hidden gem. It has the feel of a bar, but it has plenty of seating and the food is actually pretty good. Service was good, and the portions are large. Prices were reasonable, and they have a kids menu. They have live music as well. read more

Food was awful. The fries were coated with something unsavory, I had the hot roast beef sandwich had a weird after taste and I left more than half and my hubby had a cheesesteak that he left half and he usually never leaves a bite. Service was good and the room was so dark it was hard to read the menu. We remembered the food from when it was Weso's - they either changed hands or just stopped caring... definitely no comparison. read more

Ok. This is not a fancy place. It's basically the local bar with a set of regulars and an occasional outlander (that's me). My understanding is that this place came under new ownership in 2019, after many years of being owned by the some family of Tommy Lasorda (four brothers) as Tommy hailed from Norristown. There is a series of specials for each day of the week and I ate there on two different days and sampled some of the fare. Mondays is $8 cheesesteaks. Sandwiches are generous and taste beefy with real melted cheese. Thursdays is $8 burgers and fries. Burgers are thick and juicy and for $8, it's a bargain. One of our diners ordered chili (did not taste homemade) and the table shared the pretzel which seemed fresh baked and came with mustard sauces and a cheese sauce. Service both at lunch and dinner was good. Ambiance was a cross between sports and dive bar. read more

The bartender/waitress was on her phone for most of the time. Food was mediocre at best. No flavor.

I went to this bar when I was 22. The young waiter took my ID to a tall bald man in the corner of restaurant area, and returned to me saying it didn't pass "the quarter test." They wouldn't provide any further explanation, so I asked the waiter if I could show them the lease to my apartment, which I signed and legally needed to be 21 to do so. She said sure, and I showed her this. She then took my ID back to the man again, who turned out to be the owner who proceeded to kick me and my friends our (who had all already been served a drink). I was visiting a friend and am from CT, who said this was a very inaccurate representation of Exton PA. The owner seemed to not be making much sense coherently; and the young waiters seemed pretty uncomfortable around him. Restaurant environments like these are tough to work at, and my heart goes out to the high schoolers serving here. We ended up going to some other bars in the area the same night and had a much better experience! read more

We have been frequenting Marchwood Tavern for a while. Burgers are awesome- so are the wings! Wing special on Wednesdays, Burger special on Thursdays. Usually sit at the bar and get great friendly service. Nice drink selection. I had the chicken cheesesteak tonight, it was phenomenal!! The wait time was 20 minutes.... 3 minutes before I went to pickup the order we received a text that they cancelled the whole order Because they ran out of something. Had to chime in on this one. Went to Marchwood Tavern tonight. Hadn't been there since it was under previous ownership. Have to say: It was bangin'! Live music, nice atmosphere, the food was delicious, a good mix of people, some 20 somethings, but the majority of the crowd was 30+, super chill; and having a great time. Had shrimp and scallops in burgundy cream sauce over linguini. $22 for 4 scallops, 4 shrimp, and a pound of pasta. Scallops were U10-ish and shrimp were U15-ish. Sauce was great. Two meals from that entree. Cocktails were done right and service was both friendly; and attentive. A foodie companion had the French onion soup and said it was THE BEST she'd ever had. It's the holiday season, so two stars instead of one. Placed an order for carryout. Ordered two items, brisket tacos and a hot roast beef sandwich. The good news, the order was available shortly after the expected pick-up time. The disappointment includes: both items were missing items listed in the menu (side of juice and pickle for the roast beef sandwich; about half the toppings listed for the tacos). The brisket for the tacos was dried out. Without the juice, the roast beef was dry. For some reason, in addition to the bag of plain chips included with the roast beef sandwich, there were a random scattering of ridged chips under the bag and sandwich. Not appealing. The kitchen had one job to do; a FAIL. read more

Went for wings. Placed our order and got a plate of wings that were visibly overcooked and actually burned. Accompanying fries were also overcooked. When I told the waitress about the food she brought us, I got a "I'll tell the cook" response. There was no attempt to replace our food and the waitress never came back until we were sitting for approximately 30 minutes. I told her once again the food was burned and handed the plate of wings and fries to her and told her to give them to the cook. She came back with the check, never even offered an apology, much less to replace our food or take anything off the bill. The owners should be embarrassed to put that food in front of paying customers. I'll never go there again. Bad food and service. read more

So glad I found this diamond in the rough. Just recently moved to the area and was looking for a place with good takeout bar food. After 4 or 5 tries of bars in the area I found my go to spot. By far best wings in the area. Cooked perfect nice and crispy with delicious flavors. Service was even better can't wait to try out other things on the menu. Stopped in tonight kind of at rando on a family road trip because we were having trouble finding anywhere to eat out in the middle of nowhere. This place is situated weirdly in a kind of dingy, gross strip mall, so we didn't expect much, but it turned out to be pretty good. The inside is pretty sharp looking for a sports bar in the middle of nowhere. Our waitress - damn it, I want to say Chelsea? - was the best part of our experience. She was damn near perfect in every way, and honestly she should get out of there and go become head server at a more upscale place where she rakes in the dough because she could kill. The food was all really great too. I had a meatball sub that was damn near gourmet, my friend had a crab cake sandwich that was delicious, and even the loaded fries were unexpectedly GREAT. The only loss of a star is because the prices are a bit on the unreasonably high side. read more

Wesos is a dive bar with a local bar feel. This little diamond in the rough is perfect for what ever you are seeking. If you want a reasonable happy hour they got that. If you want daily food specials they got that. If you wanna watch a sporting event with big tv's they got that. Wesos has the best wing night in all of Chester County. Their wings are large and full of sauce. So finger licking good! My sons love this place. It's affordable to teenagers and they have a large sitting area to accommodate large crowds. Wesos has something for everyone. My son and I watched a hockey game and enjoyed their sweet chili wings. It had the perfect sweet to hot ratio. What I loved about the wings.
