    Tuna Tostados

Very loud and lively gastropub in Downingtown PA. Bar has a great selection of cocktails and craft beers on tap. Food is well done and the service is friendly. It's a small place across from the train station and it gets very very loud. Nice place to grab a bite and a cocktail or two.

Never disappoints! Love coming here for fish and chips, burgers and whatever new item is on the menu. Recently enjoyed sharing the tostadas with sushi style toppings, great tuna wasabi cream. Friendly staff. Be prepared to pay for parking in the adjacent lot before 5pm or park on the street

Wanted to head out on a Friday night and didn't want to repeat any of our regular joints. Found this place which was a 30 min drive and boy, it didn't disappoint. server Kate was great. In fact one of the customers before us complimented her saying she was the best server she had ever seen. Good and myriad collections of beer which we liked. Food was good as well. Try the jalapeno quesadilla and the poutine for sure

Greasy, over cooked, not appetizing and a great disappointment from when we were there a year ago. It really has gone downhill.

The poutine with short ribs is the best thing I've ever eaten. I know my poutine, I'm from the UP!

We have been going to The Whip for over 10 years now…read more THE #1 reason we keep going back is the staff. All of the staff make every meal a dining experience. The ambiance is great, especially in the warm weather, outside. The food is ALWAYS delicious, thanks to Dillon. Sarah and Tania are on top of their game behind the bar. I was excited for the food but unfortunately it was all pretty flavorless. I know British food is usually pretty bland but as someone who's lived in the UK, I know what to expect. Pretty disappointing. Weck Egg Roll- very crispy but not much flavor. Greasy. The creamy horseradish is good Bangers and mash- potatoes are good; fluffy and creamy. Sausages are good, savory and slightly sweet Shepards pie- weird flavor. The lamb changed the whole flavor. Sticky toffee pudding with ice cream- very good. Not overly sweet. The ice cream is a nice touch. Single stall gender neutral bdthrooms- kinda gross as a girl bc there's pee all over the floor by the toilet

We also enjoyed the bourbon butter cake, vanilla ice cream, and coffees to top off the night which was perfect. Today, the food is just pretty okay and the service level is still the same. The bar area while quaint, can still be very loud as well. My wife loved to go to the tavern on a cold day to enjoy some of their delicious warm fondue while seated by the fire. Unfortunately, we recently visited to find that the fondue is no longer on the menu(?). I found it odd that the chef removed it because this was something they were known for locally(?). The tavern once served up two kinds of fondue with several accompaniments offered, then pared it down to one - now it's just "none" (after getting us addicted over all these years)! This, after taking my favorite crab nachos off the menu a few years ago as well. While most of the food is still fairly good it's hard to get my wife to go back after they discontinued the fondue and there is not much else on the existing appetizer menu we now like either. The Octopus is good but just seems out of place here. The wings are good, but everybody has wings. Dunno, maybe the menu will change soon for the better but until then we "may?" be back.

Their specials are all revolving around the Masters which was unique! We tried the Pimento, Fried Green Tomato, Chicken Sandwich (The Pimento Birdie). This was a delicious sandwich that just screams Georgia! We also tried the Madfather Chicken Sandwich! Pesto, Vodka Sauce, Mozzarella, this thing was outstanding! The fries are always a highlight here! We got the bucket (had a bigger group) and it came with 3 sauces. 1 tiny little knock on the fry bucket....the entire bucket was not filled with fries. The bottom of the fry bucket had about an inch or 2 of crinkled up paper..... All of the food was outstanding. The beer was good. Tons of space and seating. Very easy ordering process. Go up to the counter, tell them your table number, and your food arrives shortly! Prices are high here! Expect a larger number on your check if consuming both food and alcohol!
