The service was excellent. It was a game night, so the place was busy. We were sat within 5 minutes on a bar height table and had a great view of the game. Our server brought our food and drinks in a timely manner. Our drinks were okay...my hubs enjoyed his Garage Lime beer (and wished it was on tap). I ordered a Blackberry Mist/Smash. Unfortunately, the bartender didn't add simple syrup or lime as promised on the menu. The mint leaf was a stalk with three leaves, wilted and sad. I asked for some simple syrup (which they accommodated) but would recommend retraining the bartender on the drink and keeping the mint in water before use. We ordered appetizers - deviled eggs and Kung Pao chicken - both were excellent. The deviled eggs had lovely crispy bacon and the Kung Pao chicken was crunchy, hot and flavorful. For entrees, we both ordered the Bacon Smash Burgers. Burgers are only good when they have potato rolls, so kudos to The Pour House for recognizing that! The bacon jam on the burgers was cloyingly sweet though...too much! I would recommend adding vinegar and salt to the jam recipe for balance. My hubs fries were tasty (clearly soaked in salt solution before frying), but slightly undercooked. My side salad was the strangest one I have had. It was entirely chicory -- no arugula, no romaine, no iceberg. One can only eat so much chicory (it's like kale, bitter and woody), so I had to leave it. I would recommend adding any other type of lettuce to the mix. Overall, the atmosphere and service were great, the food was passable. I stopped here with friends during off hours with regard to dining but during the Phillies game. The place was relatively empty and calm until the Phillies scored. You can watch the game on any of their dozen screens although only 3/4 were broadcasting the game. The food here was classic pub food. Burgers were generous and served with shoestring fries. Had a quick bite to eat before my appointment later in the afternoon. First time to this location, very spacious and open with a large wrap around the bar in the middle with some great natural wood accent for the counter. Wished I came here on Wednesday when it was dollar oysters but still tried them to see how the quality was. Cleaned well and fresh with cocktails and other sauces. Decided to get an oyster shooter, too, along with a $5 beer that was on special for the day. It was pretty lively with some sleezy old men looking at the wait staff the wrong ways. Disgusting, but the staff all acted professional and continued to take care of their other patrons without much disturbances. Horrible dinner last night. Monica was a sweet server but once our simple meal of 6 baked oysters and a Zippy Chicken sandwich took 20 minutes to come out, I knew something was wrong. I've been here several times, but just getting.around to a review now. Every time, it has mostly fired on all cylinders. Plenty of parking, service always friendly and prompt. The interior is tasteful, inviting, and fun, but without being too busy or with sensory overload like a Chili's or something. I've never had a bad meal here, the burgers and shoestring fries are always good and well cooked. I love that they have real french fries, and not those crispy coated ones that so many restaurants tend to go for. They also make pretty strong wings and other appetizers. I've never had an actual full dinner, mostly bar food, but from what I can see on the tables around me, they do pretty well with that also. read more

Different cheesesteak #1053 in the last five years. Special Wednesday with Amigo Dan. The cheesesteak was very flavorful and we think we like The Pour House. The cheesesteak wouldn't win a traditional cheesesteak contest. It is shaved prime rib, cheddar (nice change of pace cheese choice), BBQ sauce, horseradish and au jus. I know, horseradish and au jus scream French Dip. We liked it. We wish our strawberry lemonades were less than $10 or had more vodka. My Ommegang Solera draft was $6.50 and I liked that. The food is edible, the whiskey sour was not made correctly. They sent it with a lime instead of with a traditional cherry. I was given a plastic straw for my water and lemon in a time when society really needs to use more sustainable products and less plastic. I usually have travel straws with me from Grove. So, I used one of my own. They served the fish & chips without malt vinegar and they used chicken fry batter instead of fish and chip fry batter. That made some of the crunch too hard to eat. The "chips" are "fries" but in reality large chunks of potato. I went there in a pinch due to waiting hours for my truck in the service shop and being hungry. I wasn't hoping for much and I got it. We went on the 4th of July around 6 PM and opted for outdoor seating. We started with a couple drinks, including a Moscow mule, and eventually made our way to the appetizers and entrees. We ordered soft pretzel bites for an appetizer. Unfortunately, they tasted like bitter stale dough balls bathed in baking soda. Some pretzel bites were decorated in salt while others were craving at least a grain or two. I will always order pretzel bites (or soft pretzel) if it's on the menu, so I've ate my fair share. These rank somewhere lower than Wawa and Sunoco. For entrees, we ordered the cheddar mac burger with sweet potato fries and the bacon cheeseburger with regular fries. The burgers exceeded my expectations. They were cooked to our request, flavorful and warm upon being ready to devour. We brought our entrees home because of their size, so kudos on that point. The side order of sweet potato fries and regular fries also both passed inspection. Overall, I am pleased with my experience. The Pour House in Exton is a decent restaurant with a lot of potential. It's about average. I cant comment on the inside since we were outside, but I did use the bathroom and I found it to be clean enough. I can see myself returning in the future. read more

First time here, on oyster special night. I don't eat oysters so I had a hamburger, which was pretty good. It was prepared the way I like it and there were no surprises. I had a side salad. Pretty standard greens with bleu cheese dressing. We also go an order of the brussels sprouts. There were prepared fine but lacked any real punch. Essentially just the sprouts with something sprinkled on them. Not bad by any means though. Beer selection was pretty good. Nice, dark-ish dining area. We were in the area and looking for a place to grab dinner. Found the Pour House on Yelp so figured we try it out. Parking lot was full but wait for a table was about 10-15 minutes, so not too bad. Our server was very attentive and came around to check on us often. My grandmother and I ordered fish and chips (she got butternut squash instead of potato wedges) The fish and Chips was a generous portion size but the potato wedges were forgettable; they didn't have much flavor besides pepper. The fish batter also had a bit of a kick. My sister enjoyed her salad as well. They also run promotions throughout the week; I think Wednesdays had an Oyster Special of some sort. read more

We went on a Tuesday night so it was not to busy and we sat right away. For appetizers we got the goat cheese bites and street corn dip. The goat cheese wasent for me but I'm sure someone likes it, but the corn dip was amazing. It was served hot in a skillet and was super flavorful and a perfect appetizer to share or take all for yourself. For my meal I got the pickle back burger. I am a fan of pickle things so a burger with fried pickles on it was perfect for me. The savory flavor of the burger mixes nicely with the saltiness of the fried pickle chips. The fries with old bay and cheese were a great side choice too. Overall the food was great, atmosphere was good, wait staff was attentive, and prices were reasonable. Strange visit overall, but the food was pretty good We were seated promptly upon arrival, however, it did take our server a bit to get to us for drink orders, etc. (observation number one, why aren't the drinks listed anywhere on the menu, like, if you serve Coke or Pepsi, non-soda choices, etc.) Starter arrived promptly, the goat cheese fritters. They were tasty, however my husband and I had to fight over who got the last one. Odd number just seemed weird. Burgers arrived timely,, presentation was nice, my burger was cooked, medium as requested, however, my husband's medium well burger had a pretty significant amount of pink inside. (triggering the memory of why we stopped coming here a few years ago, because he was served an essentially raw burger.) Time came for the check, and we were advised that the point of service system was down, they were working on getting us some sort of bill. The poor server was back at our table, no less than three times. Every return was started with, "my manager says.", which at that point if they manager has the server running his butt off like that, manager should be out of the back and talk to the guest face-to-face, and find a solution. The suggested solution of us, leaving our credit card information to be charged when the system came back up was definitely not happening. When we told the server we would pay cash just give us a total he told us they didn't have the total. Yes, you do have the total, the prices are on the menu, write it down add it up, add the tax. Came in recently for lunch with a coworker and it was a decent experience. I forget what my coworker had to eat but I went with a couple appetizers and was very pleased with both. One was a Mexican street corn dip and the other, fried goat cheese balls. Both of these were really good but I especially loved the goat cheese! Our service was fine. The one major negative for me was that it was really cold inside and the booth was super uncomfortable. Id go back though! read more

Haven't been in this place since it was Cheeseburger in Paradise, which had great food, thought we'd give it a try. Not much of a selection of food besides sandwiches & fried food. Thought I'd try the zippy chicken, I'm not into spicy food so they did customize it for me. Food took forever to come out & the chicken sandwich was super thin, I pulled out a big chunk of fat & the chicken was so hard it was tough to bite into. My husband liked his burger but it was so small. For the price we paid , we were hungry only a few hours later & the chicken was very poor quality, I'd equate it to McDonald's chicken.
