I was in town for a hockey trip and had some time to kill one night, so I stopped into Brickette Lounge--and I'm really glad I did. This place is the definition of a great local hangout. They had awesome live music, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the whole vibe made me feel right at home. The place was loud in the best way--fun, energetic, and full of character. The food coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic, the cocktails had stiff pours, and the beer was cheap and ice cold. Exactly what you want from a neighborhood bar. If you're looking for a friendly, fun local spot with good music and strong drinks, Brickette Lounge is the place. I'd go back in a heartbeat. read more

Brickette has everything a good BBQ spot would need- the burnt ends and mac and cheese are to die for. Line dancing nights are so much fun- Steve is the best! The outdoor space is the perfect spot for a firepit and watching an Eagles game. The atmosphere here is unbeatable. Just wish the dance floor was a little bigger and it didn't get so hot. Military/Veteran friendly? Two military veterans walk into a bar a few beers and some pool, one gets served a free beer for their service and the other gets told the bar does NOT do anything for service members. This was our first time visiting this bar and we enjoyed the atmosphere however we felt disrespected by the lack of courtesy towards military veterans. It's one thing to not do anything at all for vets, it's another if one gets served and the other does not. Might give this place another chance but was definitely rubbed the wrong way. read more

Great bar! The live music is always great. Awesome outdoor area to enjoy the outside while still listening to music. Love this place. Bartenders here are always really nice and attentive. Just a great West Chester joint Miss the old sign outside. Bring back the sign!! The food is really good. Try their BBQ. My favorite is the bullseye sausage wrapped in bacon and their smoked wings. Last time the brisket was overly fatty and gristly but everything else was great. I also don't like their mac and cheese. It tastes like Stouffers. Everything else is worth a try. read more

Pool tables, pinball, longboard, a stage with live music, and then there's the outdoor area! Fire pit! Cornhole! It's a very easy atmosphere. Bottled beers are the #1 choice. Greeted rudely by the bouncer. I traveled a long distance to see some friends perform in a band with my 20 year old. The tiny sign on the door said she couldn't enter past 5pm. Noticed how packed this place was on the night before and decided to try it for lunch. We had a large party (2 family's with kids) and we were greeted by friendly staff that promptly served us and we took our trays to some tables behind the bar. The dining area was spacious and decor was country western with a stage on the corner. Loved the posters and signs on the wall (a honkey tonk vibe) and the music was a more traditional country. The food was very good. Brisket, pulled pork , smoked wings, a platter includes 2 sides-refreshing Cole slaw, potato salad, a huge piece of tasty corn bread (moist and deliscious). I was truly excited to come here and experience a northern honky tonk style bar. Coming from the south I was expecting the same level of hospitality but was greeted with an aggressive bouncer who threw me out for being "hostile" after providing my ID. The said employee was not at the door when my group arrived so we made our way to the bar to provide our IDs to the bartender. The "bouncer" then approached my group stating we "have to show our IDs and we can't just walk-in". Of course my entire group walked back to the front to oblige. After I apologized and stated "sorry there's just normally someone at the door when you walk in, I was confused." The man yelled at me in my face saying "dont give me attitude, I'll kick your ass out of here. Are you still confused? I'm a real a** motherf***** and I don't take attitude." As I he had my ID in his hand. I was appalled. I took two steps towards the bar only for his to yell after me- "say one more thing. I'll throw your a** out. Turn around and walk to the bar." I gladly walked towards the door. I refuse to support a business that allows its patrons to be spoken to/treated in this manor. I came to spend money. Have fun. Celebrate with my friends. To say this is a disappointment would be a gross understatement. I am truly offended at the treatment I received. I cannot return to this establishment and feel safe. If you find yourself at Brickette Lounge Honky Tonk & BBQ in Exton, PA, on a beautiful day, make sure to dine in their outdoor courtyard. The picturesque setting significantly enhances the overall dining experience. Should the weather turn chilly, the indoor area truly embodies a lounge and honky tonk atmosphere, complete with a pool table, a large bar, and a dance floor. It's essentially a Texas roadhouse transported to Eastern PA. You choose your drink at the bar separately from the walk-up BBQ counter. The good news is they didn't just bring the roadhouse vibe--they also brought a couple of 1000-gallon Texas-style smokers and authentic Texas BBQ to Southeastern PA. It's one of the best representations of Texas-style BBQ I've seen in the state. Parking is convenient, with ample spaces available in front of the building. The service at Brickette BBQ is exceptional--attentive, friendly, and efficient. The portion sizes and value are excellent. I tried the "Small Sampler Platter" (on two trips), which includes ribs, brisket, Cajun and Jalapeño Cheddar sausages, chicken, three sides, two cornbread, onions, and pickles. It's a hearty meal that can easily satisfy two hungry men. Now, onto the important part--the BBQ: * Ribs: Large spareribs passed the bite mark test. Personally, I would have preferred a heavier bark or glaze, but the flavor was excellent--juicy and tender. Most diners will love them! 8/10 * Chicken: Perfectly cooked with a light glaze of flavorful black pepper BBQ sauce. Moist and great taste. 8/10 * Pulled Pork: Perfectly cooked, moist, juicy, and flavorful with a good amount of bark mixed throughout. It would make a perfect pulled pork sandwich with the slaw and black pepper BBQ sauce. 8/10 * Brisket: As a seasoned brisket enthusiast who has sampled brisket at approximately 400 different BBQ restaurants, I found it better than most commercial spots. It passed the KCBS judging pull test and was a standout offering with just the right bark and fat cap. 8/10 * Plain Sausage: This was a pleasant surprise. It had a nice snap and excellent flavor, surpassing my usual expectations for sausage. While the Jalapeño Cheddar was good, I preferred the plain, though both were excellent products. 8/10 * Collard Greens: Very flavorful and well-prepared with bits of smoked meat throughout for seasoning. Paired perfectly with the cornbread. 8/10 * Potato Salad: Normally my favorite side dish, it looks to be homemade in-house with a mustard-based dressing. It did not disappoint. 8/10 * Slaw: Perhaps due to the heat of the day, this was my favorite side. Light, crispy, and not overdressed, it had the perfect crunchy coolness to cleanse the palate between bites of the smoky BBQ. 8/10 * Cornbread: A large, moist, crumbly portion with a hint of sweet undertones. As a Southern gentleman, I prefer cornbread without sugar, and the light sweet undertones definitely did not offend my palate. Considering the portion size and moisture, it is a very good product. 8/10 * Sauces: The tomato-based black pepper sauce (8/10) wasn't particularly hot but had a slight kick. I would buy it by the bottle if available! The Carolina mustard-style sauce (6/10) was good but not remarkable. 7/10 I wish Yelp allowed half-star ratings because Brickette BBQ is better than a 4-star but not quite a perfect five-star establishment. Sit out back at the picnic tables, play some cornhole, and have a cold one--you won't be disappointed. While they are not rated the best BBQ in PA by Yelp, they have a claim to be mentioned as a contender. I would definitely stop by again if I'm in the area. Even if the food weren't great Texas-style BBQ, the service and outdoor area would make up for it. PS: they threw in a hot, out of the oven, homemade, Smores cookie ... one word "DIVINE." I've been to the Brickette lounge many times before the pandemic, but tonight was my first time there since the new owners took over. Sadly I wasn't impressed. First of all, It's not like the food with the prior owners was amazing but it was overall decent pub/bar food. With the new owners it's mainly bbq and sides, and as I was hopeful that it would be an improvement but unfortunately it wasn't. The food wasn't fresh, macaroni and cheese dried out, sausage was meh, and the brisket was ok. Nothing about the food excited any of us. We won't eat there anymore. Secondly, they put a pool table where the dance floor and/or tables should be. I mean seriously guys this is a major DA. Move the pool table to the other side of the bar near the other pool table or get rid of it. No one will miss it. Lastly, there wasn't much seating either. Maybe the tables were removed for line dancing that night. I'm not sure. We did like the dj that led the line dancing. Cool old man bar type vibe, Otherwise, bar tenders and staff seem nice. I visited during mid-day for a drink and to try the barbecue, the place was not busy. The mac and cheese seemed a bit run of the mill, but the pork ribs were excellent, that was after paying a jaw dropping $45 for ribs, mac and cheese, and corn bread. I would give them 5 stars for the food if the prices were more reasonable. In the mean time I'll be using my Traeger to make my own rack of Baby Back ribs for about 15 dollars at home but I would consider going to the Brickette for drinks the next time I want to listen to Country Music. I went back Saturday night sometime after 11, went to the bar ordered a beer and shot. 10 dollars. did two more rounds. Total 30 bucks. bar tender asked if I wanted to do whips-it's with him which made me very confused I said no. The worst part of that he charged my card an extra $25 dollars. I went with some friends to karaoke night, figured I would try it out. When we arrived we were all hungry so I decided to order wings like 15 to be exact. To my surprise the wing dings cost me $29.00 . I was like, how and why? Because they were by the pound, really. So I walked away furious like $2.00 per wing not whole wings...I then preceeded to go get some napkins low and behold there was a gentleman ordering wings as well he ask fr what was left over only 6 lft. The worker then charged him $6 $1 a wing. So I then questioned this she said that's the price per lb . I said, "This is opsurd he paid $6.00, and I paid $29, and you do the math she then said you're wrong." I'm right. She was so rude and disrespectful to me. I asked to speak to management, and there was no management . She then began to talk to her coworkers about me like I was not there. I feel as though this was discrimination on my part. I was treated unfairly. Not to mention, the wings were dry and sitting for a while. People, I will never go back there again. I felt like I didn't belong and out of place. Some white establishments are still prejudiced to welcome us in but can't stop us from entering but will treat you like shit and upcharge you so you don't return. Brickette is a red neck bar that definitely doesn't want blacks in this establishment . They young lady was ignorant and disrespectful, very smart mouthed. My friend went to question her regarding wings as well as owns her own restaurant and was also furious about the cost. She asked if the wings weighed in front of the customer to see price. N9 was the answer, and she then said that it was 7 whole wings cut up, and that shall never cost $29.00 at all you can buy a family pack of whole wings for $15.00 . This place used to be one of the few last local places in the area. The staff is very friendly and this rating does not reflect on them. This is not Philly or bougie downtown West Chester. The prices are way out of line for West Goshen. Four pork ribs cost $29 (not the $25/lb posted) and mac and cheese was $7. Taste was good but come on, I can get same quality at other local places for better price. Definitely a place to grab a beer (not mixed drinks, much more than even in WC) but other than that, take out a loan. Will try again for music but not for food. This is a review for the Brickette renovated by 3 West Hospitality and opened in November 4 2022. Previously it was owned by a couple who a but surly, not really interested in keeping the place food oriented but did bring in some great local bands playing cover music and Americana music. The new place is really emphasizing the bbq and country music. We visited with friends on a Tuesday evening to experience the new inside and the food. We left disappointed. You queue up at the front entrance for the meats and sides. There was a good selection at 6pm. The servers were pleasant. they cut the meat and weigh it in front of you. Brisket for us, Cowboy beans, corn bread and cole slaw. Ran a tab at the bar for beers. Gave us onions and pickles, plenty. Two slices of bread. Grabbed a few cups of sauce, there was a bbq, a Carolina, and two others. We carried our food across an empty front, past the bar to some tables. The food was ok. Cold by the time we started eating eat. The cornbread was stale, would have wanted it hot or at least not so crusty. The meat was thick but frankly flavorless. I would have expected a smoky taste. The cole slaw passable and the cowboy beans have a good mix of flavors. The bartender was nice. The decor is a collection of things, some signs, an Elvis velvet poster, the original Elvis poster is gone though. The stage has been upgraded and has a better sound system and more room along with a red curtain behind it. Fancy. The room is not situated at the angle of the stage which makes it a bit better. They didn't change that corner from the front room to the back around the bar which frankly is a big mistake. They could wrap the bar around the other side and take in a few feet of the current bar near that side entrance and gain so much space. We will be back, for drinks and live music, but it's a pass on the bbq for a while. read more

I have driven past this place so many times over the past 20+ years and this is the first time I have ever been inside. I was looking for a place (through Yelp) that had country line dancing lessons for a "girl's night out" and came across the Brickette. When we first walked in at 6 pm, I was honestly scared. We were the first customers in there, and the place was empty. It's nothing like I had expected inside. Feels kind of like a fire house dining hall maybe? But they did have some really cute signs hanging up above the bar, and a funny guy (maybe one of the owners?) who came around and showered us with a few jokes. I got the feeling that there are many regulars that are like family here, which was nice. The place did fill in more and more as the night progressed. So the food: Having met up with 2 friends who 1) is a vegetarian and 2) will only eat natural and healthy things.... it probably wasn't the best choice for dinner. Healthiest thing on the menu was a chef salad, which (according to natural friend) contained processed lunch meats that were not REAL meat. The vegetarian friend ordered a grilled cheese with tomatoes. I had a BLT that was HUGE. We also ordered a large fry with cheese on the side and an order of breaded mushrooms, which was served with a side of ranch. Everything was really good and super large portions. (Doggie bags to go and enough for lunch the next day.) But don't go here expecting a really amazing entree` or 5 star meal. It's bar food, folks! And the line dancing: unfortunately, we were enjoying our food for too long, and didn't jump up when the lessons actually started. By the time we joined the instructor, we were behind. (And I am NOT coordinated at all anyway, so could have used the extra instruction!) My advice would to definitely start from the beginning. Line dancing is so much harder than I thought! I definitely should not have spent 3 hrs at the gym the night before and gone really sore already. Trying to learn the moves while the music is going fast was tough, and we ended up kind of just winging it for most of the time. The apparently very regular customers that know the moves very well were all super nice and welcoming and were trying their darnedest to help us out as much as possible. On a side note: there was a LulaRoe consultant there with tables set up so that you could purchase leggings and tops. So if anyone loves LLR.... check to see when the consultant might be back! (Not sure if this was a one time or frequent thing.) All in all, we had a great time and will definitely be back! Really loved that we were so welcomed by friendly folk there. Had dinner on a Sunday around 5. Not at all crowded. Plenty of parking, miles of seating, no wait at the food counter. The food was pretty amazing. We had the pork ribs, beef ribs, wings, cowboy beans and cole slaw. The cowboy beans are tasty, so is the slaw for that matter. The beef rib for $28 was a little hard to stomach at the cash register but my husband loved it. Pork ribs: fabulous. BBQ sauces: loved the black pepper. Big beer menu. The pricey-ness of this venue lived up to its reputation. For that reason I probably won't be back often. Wouldn't mind going back on a night when I can sit outside though! I called the restaurant to see how much takeout beef ribs were and I was right. Looks like a nice place to hang out if you don't mind kicking out some big bucks. Drink prices are a little high. Line dancing on Tues is only 2 hours. We need at least another hour. DJ sometimes says no to a requested song. It was a popular song/dance. The DJ is the instructor. She did a very good job teaching. I do wish she would teach one of the more popular dancing. They need to advertise. I've been here a few times and overall enjoyed myself especially with new ownership and friendlier bartenders. They get really good musical acts that should truly enhance a night out however the location of a second pool table in middle of what should be area to watch musical acts, While place gets busy pool table and patrons playing pool completely clog up this area and block accessibility to bar! It is the worst distraction I've ever seen in performance bar. It makes an otherwise entertaining, engaging and welcoming atmosphere completely uncomfortable! People are always being asked to move so someone can try to play pool. I've seen on numerous occasions where this causes tension because while some patrons are just trying to watch artists their being inconvenienced to move while handful of pool players dominate space. YEEE HAWWW! If you've never been to the Brickette Lounge you have to check it out. It's like walking back in time. Up to a few years ago it was just filled by cowboy types from who knows where? Probably Caln. But now it has a mix of college kids, professionals AND people from Caln. Great for people watching. The bands are hit or miss, And it's not just Country music either. They often have bands that play classic rock. Great drink prices too. You get get a JD for $5 and it's the size of a double anywhere else. read more

I have no idea how this place is here. This is a country, cowboy bar that is in the middle of a busy road near west chester. I went on a saturday night for a birthday party and it was good stuff. The bar was empty but got more crowded as the night goes on. They simply cater to the older cowboy and their friends.
