Attended Mother's Day brunch. Made reservation about 2 months in advance. This is my big critique: The table we were sat at was in the way of the walking path for servers and guests. There was only about 2 feet between the back of my chair and the table behind me. I was bumped into at least 15 times while sitting at the table eating. I understand they were very busy for Mother's day but it was a large nuisance considering what we were paying for a party of t at the brunch. The buffet was restocked quickly and had a very large selection. The oysters were large and full. The blBloody Mary's base was a bit thin for my liking but they did not lack in spirits. read more

Had a nice dinner here. Happy hour specials were a plus. The lobster bisque was good but barely any lobster meat. The New England clam chowder was just ok. The clams in garlicky beer broth was excellent. Seafood paella was said to be very good. Oyster sandwich was good but only had like 3 oysters on it. The chicken caesar salad was great, I really enjoyed the dressing. We recently held a Celebration of Life for a family member in their banquet room. Carter Thompson provided excellent service in walking me through the planning and making helpful suggestions. He went out of his way in being accommodating and understanding while I was navigating this emotional event. The day of the COL everything in the room was top notch, clean and organized. The staff was outstanding- present but not overbearing. The food was good and replenished as needed- quickly and smoothly. Stopped in here four times in the past two months. This seems like a popular place for the guys to get together for lunch on a weekday. Decent hot roast beef and po' boy sandwich. We also took advantage of their $33 prime rib Sunday dinner offering of salad, primer rib with potato and veg, and crème brûlée for desert. This was a bit disappointing. Salad good, quality of beef was meh. They tried to pass off vanilla pudding as crème brûlée. Not good nor a good value overall. This promotion is no longer offered. Stopped in twice on a Wednesday for buck a shuck oysters and $5 champagne. Also ordered the nachos and pizza. This was a good value overall. Decent oysters. Better pizza than most. Nachos were loaded. The champagne was really a Prosecco which is fine but it hardly had any bubbles left so the bottle must have been open for a while. Choose wisely and you will make out ok here. The dining room is gorgeously understated. We came for Sunday brunch and I am generally very wary of buffets. I was impressed by the carving station offerings and the expansive (but not so expensive that they don't do anything very well) menu. The lavender cocktail was tasty, as was everything else I got. The standouts were the potatoes (I have never had crispy potatoes at a buffet and probably never will again anywhere else), the key lime bundt cake, and the bacon. Went here with our son on a Friday night. Restaurant was full for 8pm and service was slow. Slower than Rt76 on a Monday morning headed into the city. Food was mediocre at best but took much longer to come out than it should have. Ambiance was ok and nothing to write about. At the end of the meal, we see this, a small cockroach walking along the baseboard. Look around for an employee to no avail. Walk up to the host stand, find our server and inform him of it and pay the bill. My husband and I walked by here while visiting last weekend (we went to Al Pastor). It looked busy and we wanted to try somewhere new this week, so we checked OpenTable. I'm so glad we booked a reservation, because it filled up fairly quick while we were dining. We were greeted by the friendly hostesses who sat us immediately. We did sit for a few moments until Jennifer came over to greet us. In all fairness, we noticed that the servers had more than enough tables, which leads me to a staff shortage (super understandable). She was incredibly friendly and answered all of our questions. She was incredibly attentive for how busy she was this evening. My husband and I ordered drinks from the bar, which took quite awhile, but again I'm assuming short staffed. The mojito was okay, but didn't taste any alcohol. When I ordered the second one, same waiting issue. It tasted like a sour watermelon (not bad, just super tart). He loved his old fashioned from the specials menu as well as the basic one. We started with half a dozen of the blue point oysters. Now, I'm a huge fan of oysters and was slightly disappointed in the size, especially for the price. The cocktail sauce had great flavor. The shrimp cocktail was good as well. We ordered the mussels, which had great flavor, but again, the size of the mussels were a bit small. Our son loved the bread that came with the mussels. The naked lobster roll was AMAZING! The flavors were unbelievably awesome. The slaw was excellent and I usually don't touch it. Fries were hot & fresh! My husband and I also split the Margherita pizza, which was so good! Definitely a decent size and came out nice and hot. The kids loved their meals! We were extremely pleased hosting a baby shower (with 32 guests) in the banquet room in November. Carter Thompson (Event Manager) and his team did an fantastic job accommodating everyone. He suggested we offer the Sunday Fall Brunch-- which was exceptional!! The food was delicious and the choices were plenty. The buffet area was clean and the food stations were nicely displayed. The flow of both rooms worked very well. The most recent renovations made the banquet room cheerful and welcoming as our guests arrived! The floor to ceiling windows brightened up the entire room. For your convenience, there are outside doors to use to set up your event-- instead of having to enter through the main entrance. Overall service was definitely FIVE STAR! My party of 3 had a late lunch on 5/24/24. We chose to sit inside. We were immediately greeted by 2 very pleasant gentleman. I informed them that one of us has never eaten here. He told us they would not disappoint! It was a very positive experience. The service was excellent, our server Yanic, was both pleasant and knowledgeable of the food items Brickside served. He is definitely an asset to this restaurant. The food was delicious and presentation was on point. Our cocktails, Long Island iced tea and Mojito was just as we hoped they would be. Great Father's Day dinner! Great atmosphere outside. Started with potato skins, oysters, and chicken nachos. Huge portion of nachos and toppings evenly layered in throughout. Only downfall was that there was a strange puddle of oil at the bottom of the nachos dish. Potato skins came in order of 3 and were appropriately sized. Oysters were served in cold water not ice-weird. Not sure if the ice melted or if that is their style, but the water got into the oysters. Margherita pizza was good, slightly too much oil that the slices became soggy, but the taste was there. Crab cakes were decent, good for an inland seafood meal. Prime rib sandwich was flavorful. Great dinner overall, only losing a star for the excess oils in the meals and our service was not very attentive. Would come again. read more

The website was a little glitchy: it put my order through twice and charged me twice, but it ended up fine in the end as I just kept the second order for a meal for the other day. The potato skins were perfect, crunchy on the outside, but soft and pillowy inside. They did not skimp on the bacon or cheddar cheese. The burger I ordered was cooked more medium than medium rare, but the flavor was good. The fries that came with it were ok. The lemon aioli needed more lemon. There was lemon zest in it, but I don't think it had any lemon juice. read more

Buck a shuck on Wednesday's is an amazing deal and they have so many varieties of oysters. During covid they made great outdoor seating and this place has become our once-a-week (or more) getaway. For Father's Day this year there was a buffet until 2pm. But our server failed to mention this to us. So we had 25 minutes or so to have the buffet and many things were already missing. Last weekend I had the worst experience at this restaurant. It was a wholesome Sunday afternoon, and two post grad students who are forced to live at home due to inflation, decided to spend a nice football Sunday at none other than their local brickside. My best friend and I are frequents at this restaurant, as with our families, and have never had such an issue during a meal at Brickside. We arrived and ordered the delicious meal we had been craving, and were somewhat shocked when the order came out completely wrong, even thought it was simple and clear. Our waitress took the order back and when we got the fresh food it was a new waiter offering us dessert (very unusual considered we hadn't even ate yet), we brushed it off and ate our meal unbothered. The reason that we received a completely new waiter was none other than- homophobia. We weren't 100% convinced at first, but after talking to current employees at the restaurant our speculations became reality. This type of behavior is not acceptable at an establishment at all, we are not lesbians, and have never received such horrible service at any establishment. This is so disgusting to treat ANYONE (lesbian or not) this way and has changed the way we view Brickside. Receiving a new server without any explanation and then being awkwardly offered a dessert menu before recieveing our meal, created an extremely uncomfortable and unwelcomed environment. Not only was he super accommodating, he helped me select the perfect menu. Day of I stopped by to drop off decorations and was warmly welcomed with offers to help by the team. The space was very clean and beautifully set. During our event, our server, Brie was friendly, attentive, and provided superior service. The food was excellent and the presentation was beautiful. This restaurant is very big and has a large menu, though it certainty leans more toward a seafood restaurant than anything else. During my dining experience at Brickside I had the chance to try the nachos, clam chowder, and mussels. The nachos were GIGANTIC - big enough for four people to eat and start to feel hungry. The clam chowder was good, and the mussels were only "meh" because they were very, very tiny and extremely spicy. There isn't a lot to say about this place because it wasn't remarkable in any way. For $35 per person, they don't include drinks (lemonade, orange juice was extra). It was a complete disappointment. Food was def a one star, service was ok.
