Cockroach special - The image shows a corner of a room with white vertical paneled walls and a dark patterned carpeted floor.

Went here with our son on a Friday night. Restaurant was full for 8pm and service was slow. Slower than Rt76 on a Monday morning headed into the city. Food was mediocre at best but took much longer to come out than it should have. Ambiance was ok and nothing to write about. At the end of the meal, we see this, a small cockroach walking along the baseboard. Look around for an employee to no avail. Walk up to the host stand, find our server and inform him of it and pay the bill. Didn't offer to do anything beyond the "oh, I guess I'll walk over and take care of it" like it was just a normal day at work. Overall, yeah, we won't be back. Ever.

Traditional Mojito - A tall glass contains a clear drink with fresh mint leaves and ice, placed on a napkin at a restaurant or cafe.

My husband and I walked by here while visiting last weekend (we went to Al Pastor). It looked busy and we wanted to try somewhere new this week, so we checked OpenTable. I'm so glad we booked a reservation, because it filled up fairly quick while we were dining. We were greeted by the friendly hostesses who sat us immediately. We did sit for a few moments until Jennifer came over to greet us. In all fairness, we noticed that the servers had more than enough tables, which leads me to a staff shortage (super understandable). She was incredibly friendly and answered all of our questions. She was incredibly attentive for how busy she was this evening. My husband and I ordered drinks from the bar, which took quite awhile, but again I'm assuming short staffed. The mojito was okay, but didn't taste any alcohol. When I ordered the second one, same waiting issue. It tasted like a sour watermelon (not bad, just super tart). He loved his old fashioned from the specials menu as well as the basic one. We started with half a dozen of the blue point oysters. Now, I'm a huge fan of oysters and was slightly disappointed in the size, especially for the price. The cocktail sauce had great flavor. The shrimp cocktail was good as well. We ordered the mussels, which had great flavor, but again, the size of the mussels were a bit small. Our son loved the bread that came with the mussels. The naked lobster roll was AMAZING! The flavors were unbelievably awesome. The slaw was excellent and I usually don't touch it. Fries were hot & fresh! My husband and I also split the Margherita pizza, which was so good! Definitely a decent size and came out nice and hot. The kids loved their meals! Overall, everything was good and we definitely will come back! Great service by Jennifer :)

Visited with my girlfriend for Valentine's Day! Service was great even though it was a busy night…read moredue to the holiday. We loved the decorations in the restaurant too, seeing all the local dog portraits on the wall while we were waiting for our table was enjoyable. The food was incredible. We recently moved to Exton and haven't really gotten a chance to spoil ourselves, and White Dog was a great place to do so. We started with the Mushroom Soup, Oysters, and Artisan Cheese Board. All were delicious! One of the things I loved most were the portion sizes. For the price it was only a touch expensive, but for good reason, the entrees were delicious. My girlfriend got the Salmon, I had the Seafood Bucatini, and textures were masterful. The contrast between the tenderness of the shrimp/scallops and the broccoli rabe/parmesean crisps made each bite a truly special experience. I'm going to be dreaming of how light yet flavorful the sauce was too!! The GF is telling me to stop typing but I could go on and on about this meal. Thank you!!! We will be back

This was my fourth and probably last visit since they opened. When I arrived to enjoy a nice New…read moreYears Day meal with my husband and his 83 year old mother to celebrate her birthday, Christmas, and the New Year - the hostess was wearing pajamas. At this age and point in history, it takes a bit to phase me, and I will say - I was phased. Without meaning to, I looked her up and down and gave her a stare that must've conveyed, "WTH?" I said my name and that I had a reservation for 3. I was with my mother-in-law who quite clearly has physical disabilities and the hostess asked, "Do you want to wait for the other person in your party?" Um, no, I want to get my elderly and infirm MIL seated. "No, he's parking and will be right in." "Follow me." And she proceeded to take us quite literally to the seating section that was the absolute furthest away from the front door, as my MIL hobbled along behind her. And the place was dead, so there was no need for that lack of sensitivity. Situational awareness, peeps. When we were seated, each of us was given a different menu. One read "Lunch" one read "Brunch" and one read "Dinner'. We flagged someone down and she said, "Oh, I don't know which menu it should be, let me find out." "You've been open for 4 hours and you don't know what menu you're using?" I wondered quietly to myself. Then the waiter arrived, perfectly affable, also in pajamas, and when he left, my MIL asked, "What is going on? What is everyone wearing?" I said, "Pajamas." NOT the nice meal we had in mind for her. The waiter explained it was a tradition because one day, on New Year's Day, the woman who started the restaurant in the 80s had been so drunk she was incapable of adulting and putting on proper clothes to come to work dressed professionally - so to honor her poor life skills and bad choices - all the staff is now forced to wear pajamas on New Year's Day. How nice for the rest of us. I could see that on a day like April Fools or Halloween or "Bring a Drunk Restaurant Owner to Work Day", but not New Year's Day. But hey - whatevs. The least you could do is push this fact out to people so if someone is looking to have a nice meal in a traditional atmosphere to start the new year - they could consent and/or make another choice. Which clearly, we would have. So odd.
