Underwhelming for the price and ambiguous online descriptions of the food. The filet was just ok, nothing special. Green beans didn't have garlic listed but it looked like they were possibly sautéed in minced garlic? The Parmesan fries were not what I expected and tasted like they had a mayo drizzle on them (I am not a fan of mayo or anything similar). I thought these would be like Parmesan truffle fries (no sauce, just grated cheese in truffle oil). Dessert didn't really match the written description and we couldn't find pictures for an idea of what the mousse cake would look like but the "toffee" and "almond" did not exist. First visit to CH grille, it's nice inside, and we were seated right away. Combination of booths, tables. The service was spotty. Our server may have been new, but on to the food. They told us the menu is seasonal and changes, and I was disappointed that they did not have the apps I was looking forward to ordering. I'm glad that Chop opened a location in Exton. Their food is good. That said I thought they were cheap with their portion sizes. Things are also a la carte. They did not serve bread and there were no tablecloths. Another cost cutting measure because they don't have to pay to launder them. I'd advise anyone to skip Chop and head to Morton's in King of Prussia for what you're paying. This place is a real gem in Exton. Everything that I had was delicious. The scallops and the beef & mushroom appetizer were particularly good. I also really enjoyed my espresso martini. They usually use hazelnut in their martini's but I asked to make it more classic and they nailed it. Natalie, our server was amazing. We really enjoyed ChopHouse Grille. A friend's 38th birthday drew us together here. While it was an unknown quantity--at least to me--it proved to be a solid restaurant with good food, large portions, and inventive drinks all at reasonable prices. While I didn't really eat any, the appetizers we ordered (the candied bacon and cheese plate and calamari) were hits with the group, and I very much enjoyed my steak, which typically comes with fingerling potatoes and green beans. At my request, the staff very kindly offered to switch out the potatoes with asparagus. The main course was delicious, and the grapefruit seltzer cocktail was surprisingly delicious. I restrained myself from ordering a second despite wanting it. The restaurant has high ceilings, a variety of seating options, tasteful decor, and an appealing bar area with high-tops. I've eaten so many that I'm putting Julius Caesar's children's children's chilren's (etc. etc. etc,) through college, and I can tell you this is NOT a Ceasar salad. It was sorta good though, as it had seeds and sun dried tomatoes on it. The steak was bad. I could definitely have made a better one at home, and I am not a chef. They give you homemade steak sauce to go with it. You might as well, as it doesn't make it worse. I felt my short rib tacos were lacking. They were mushy without any sides. Mushy meat and onions on top. I should have e taken a photo. They were good but left me lacking. My family and I had a really nice dinner at Chophouse recently. We ate dinner there before heading over to the mall for their carnival. I called at the last minute to make a reservation and we were able to be sat in their four seasons room which is technically indoor but the windows open to the outside so fresh air is constantly flowing through. Our server was very nice, at tentative and accommodating. I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich. Although it was messy to eat, it was actually really, really good. The chicken was moist and the breading was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. My husband got the bbq baby back ribs and he said they were very good. My toddler got the chicken fingers and they were able to accommodate her by getting her carrots and tomatoes that she asked for! My dad got the seared sea scallops and mom got the fillet mignon. We were all full and satisfied after dinner. I would definitely come back to the chophouse grille. Both times service was incredibly slow and the staff were visibly overwhelmed and irritated (understandably, but not a pleasant experience). They were good, just too small of a portion. We had to order another meal to fill our kids up. We tried their app and entree specials. Steak tips with Kona seasoning app. It was cooked very well, but we were not getting coffee flavor. The grouper special was good, but we loved their swordfish special we had last time better. I ordered the fish tacos, very good and light, but not filling enough. For dessert the kids had their ice cream that came with their meals. Nothing special. The kids were not fans of it. Located near Exton Mall, Chophouse is a recently new restaurant that opened in the area. The place is a modern design with a slightly upscale vibe. Super clean and causal as well. Bar area is pretty spacious with seating, and no long waits at all. Menu has a nice variety of different options. I ended up ordering the scallops with risotto and Brussel sprouts. Risotto had a nice cream cheese base and scallops were blackened. I enjoyed my dish as everything was cooked well and evenly, and seasoned great! The salmon with cauliflower and burger were also highly raved. They also have truffle fries with a garlic aioli and they were delicious, I love anything truffle. This is definitely a great spot to go to if you dont want to eat at the mall or eat after shopping. Highly recommend! read more
