Went here for a post Christmas lunch w/my bf and his parents. The place was quite cold and the service was less than desirable. While we didn't wait to get seated we waited to have our server take our drinks and waited and waited for our drinks the be served. Also WAITED for her to return empty handed to take our order but only at the prompting from us. I will honestly say that we spent anywhere from 30-45 mins before getting our drinks & ultimately ordering our lunch. We were all very patient and she did apologize for the delay after stares from the table but guess what we were still waiting. When we finally got our drinks our lunch was followed maybe 10 mins after. We ordered the calamari appetizer which was good but slightly on the greasier side. Both my bf's son and mom ordered the fish tacos, I ordered the French dip, my bf got the chicken caprese sammie and his dad had the buffalo chicken flatbread. The two sammies were good but I would've like to have known that it was on a sesame seed roll. I also would've thought that for the wait the app or something would've been offered for the inconvenience. It wasn't super busy but a nice crowd. I really would've liked the manager to have at least come to the table to apologize but that didn't happen. Honestly I don't even think she checked on us after we received our meals. I'm not sure if I would be eagerly wanting to head back there anytime soon. read more

Honestly I would've paid 40 bucks for my 170$ meal, food is okay, on par with Texas Roadhouse in all honesty, even the sides were just okay not bad but if you're trying to impress a date with great food, I'd pass on this place On the. Went here on a dinner for 4. Started with a wonderful tasting lavender martini. Also tried a glass of champagne to stat dinner - it was not a recently opened bottle and was sub-par. Tried the brussel sprout and the calamari appetizers - they were both middle of the road. Two of us got steaks. The ribeye was a little overcooked; that steak and the filet mignon were middle of the road. Asked for a lot of sautéed onions and received a little dollop. Asked for more and got another 1.5 dollops. They served a sauce with the steaks - they didn't explain it and I tried it with the veggies and it gave them some added flavor but unsure if it was a dip for the veggies. Bar service was pretty good, table service middle of the road (didn't remove used plates and utensils for a while, water refills too infrequent, wait staff not very cordial). Wow. The fancier the restaurant, the worse the food. Went here while visiting Exton, hoping to find a good dinner. Ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon, it was rather forgettable and packed with no flavor. The Wild Rice that accompanied it was somewhat frightening and appeared as though someone scraped the pot in order to place something that looked like rice on to my plate. The asparagus was over-cooked. My only enjoyment was the strawberry margarita. Customer base was all white, no diversity. Not too much dressing on the Caesar salad + the Chilean sea bass was very tasty (portion was a bit tiny, so order appetizers if you showed up with an appetite!)! We saw the Chop House Grille while driving through Exton and decided to stop in and try it out. The ambiance is awesome. Great bar area, clean and modern restaurant. However, we found that the only thing that lives up to the Chop House name are the prices. As other reviewers point out, service was slow. We went on a Monday, so didn't expect it to be spectacular, but we found ourselves waiting quite a bit. For food, we got the tuna appetizer. It was average. For our meal, I got the salmon and my wife got the scallops. Scallops were good, salmon was just okay. Drinks from the bar were slow and weak. I tried the old fashioned off the menu and it was more sugar than bourbon. I would do again for a quick lunch, but not worth the price for a nice dinner. read more

Had dinner here recently for the first time. Appetizers were great, but ribeye steak (for $40!) was choice quality at best. Expected better for $40. Ordered medium rare and came out medium well. Sent it back and it came out at the correct temperature but it took too long and was tough. Everyone at the table was finished eating when it arrived. First impression left us leaning towards "may not" give it a second try. We started with the artichoke and spinach dip, stated it was made with two types of cheese and a crumbled ritz cracker. First, the cracker is not necessary, but what would be is a more flavorful cheese selection. Instead of ordinary parmesan maybe switch it to a pecorino romano parmesan to give it a little more taste. It was pretty bland. The Ahi tuna, well you can't mess that up, but the slaw was not an Asian slaw at all. It consisted of pre cut bag of purple cabbage and carrots tossed on the plate with a few pieces of seaweed salad mixed in. It was dry, (dehydrated dry) and extremely disappointing. I would suggest looking into a more true Asian slaw to accompany the tuna or maybe just serve seaweed salad. The side of asparagus, these were grilled correctly, but someone forgot to cut, (if not at the least peel), the ends. Each piece was woody and hard. The cauliflower which I was looking forward to, was also disappointing. It is not an au gratin, maybe they thought they could call cauliflower in lukewarm cheese sauce au gratin because they again crumbled that random ritz cracker on top, but that is not what makes something au gratin. Last item that we sampled were the short rib tacos. The short rib was good, we have had better, but they were cooked properly. But out of the three only one had all the fixings inside. It was like someone in the kitchen got side tracked and filled one and then tossed the plate under the heat lamp before they finished filling the last two. So the 2 stars are for the food only - BUT NOT the serves. The hostesses where friendly and greeted us immediately. The the bar staff (we sat at the bar to sample the menu) were nice, friendly and very tentative. read more

Wonderful anniversary dinner! The food was amazing & our Server was great; I highly recommend ChopHouse Grille. My husband ordered the Prime Rib and it was cooked to perfection and the steak sauce was also delicious. I had the delicious seared scallops with risotto, brussel sprouts, and butternut squash. We were celebrating our anniversary & I let the restaurant know in advance with my reservation. Our waiter greeted us at the table with complimentary glasses of champagne for our celebration. I tried Chop House in Exton 2x. My first experience...I order scallops, (probably not the best choice at a Steak House) there were 4 scallops on the plate and they were VERY salty...I could not eat them. I had the other 3 friends at the table try a piece to make sure it wasn't just me. We split one scallop into 4 pieces and EVERYONE agreed, that they were way too salty. I told our server and the response was....The Chefs don't season them, they come frozen that way. So, she returned my dish to the kitchen and they sent out another plate of scallops. This time I got 3 scallops on my plate and 1 scallop that looked as if it was chewed up and put back together. I called the manager over and she was in shock that that was how my meak came back. I did not eat them and the manager did take them off our bill. So, I thought I would give it another try last night. My second experience wasn't much better. We ordered drinks - when we got our drinks they did not come as described on the menu and 15 minutes after we got our drinks, we recieved the garnish? That was very stange, but....the drink was good. We ordered appetizers. The brussel sprouts were great. The tuna was very fishy and the calamari was WAY over cooked. Very crunchy and tasted like burnt bread crumbs - NO meat/fish! My husband got the halibut entree and it had NO FLAVOR AT ALL - VERY BLAND! NO SALT, PEPPER OR SPICE IN THE ENTIRE DISH My friend ordered the Filet Mignon, Oscar style and it also was VERY BLAND and way under par for an "up scale" Steak House. I got the shaved Prime Rib sandwich (French Dip) it tasted ok but had way too many fat pieces! Not only were our food and drinks over priced and flavorless, we also noticed NOT ONE staff member had a smile on there face. We have had our eye on this place for quite some time. We were excited to finally have a date night. We decided to check it out. We thought it was a casual bar and grill. Luckily we were dressed up. The prices were a lot higher than we had anticipated but the atmosphere was really cute. It was a romantic spot. They had really fun drinks too! This place is brand new and not far from my home. Bad combination. Been there 3 times already. Great wine list. Chic, modern decor with an open layout. Decent happy hour choices. Staff is extremely friendly, accommodating and enthusiastic. Flatbreads are amazing. Very visible from Rt. 100 and has plenty of parking room available. Have only experienced bar food so far but I plan on a serious meal soon. Hearing a lot of people talk about their Old Fashions. Roll in one night soon. You won't be disappointed. read more

The interior is gorgeous. The manager Joe stopped by during the meal and made sure everything was cooked to order and the experience was highly enjoyable. We had to had the house Manhattan made over it looked like a tan Martini. I had the Cobb salad with BC dressing on the side. The BC. And dressing were all on the side. Our friends asked their server the size of the French dip sandwich, he really didn't know. In a nutshell training is needed before you have them serving on a Friday night. And the people bussing the table were SO annoying we were still eating and they're asking us to grab our plates. AND we were charged Full price for our happy hour drinks. Very underwhelming food with an exorbitant price tag. My wife and I both had steaks that were below average; hers was a tough NY Strip and mine was a blah ribeye. We shared the mashed potatoes which were also very blah and just average. The cheese board appetizer was good but didn't come with enough bread to use up all the great jellies and cheese. ChopHouse is off to a good start but, like any new restaurant, it has some work to do. The space is great - spacious and modern - a little on the noisy side (they need to invest in noise dampeners). Check-in was quick and we were taken right to the table. Food needs some work for the level they are trying to achieve: Starter was Spinach/Artichoke cheese-dip - it was like a bowl of spinach without cheese. (C-) French Onion Soup (my litmus test on a great steakhouse) - it was a bowl of sauteed onions without broth - there was no "soup". Flavor was ok. (C-) Brussel Sprouts were charred beyond recognition (D) Shrimp Scampi was fine but average (B+) Filets were great and well seasoned (A-) accompanying sauces were weak - horseradish little flavor and whiskey peppercorn was oddly sweet Deserts - the over-priced desert-shots (the margin makers) Nice wine list Service was good and I loved seeing that there were multiple managers roaming the floor supporting their team and attentive to customers. My wife and I really enjoy coming here. Decent selection of beers on tap and nice refreshing cocktails. My go to dish is always the French dip and have to admit, its in my top five of the best French dip's I've ever had. Their flatbreads are just as awesome! My favorite is the BBQ chicken but unfortunately it's only offered during the summer months. A good alternative is the steak flatbread which is offered all year long. The only negative I can say is the bar top could be cleaner. While it's not to the point where your hands and arms are sticking to it, but you can definitely tell it's not washed after each customer leaves as you can see the ring marks, etc left by the previous customers. read more

First visit. Came here on a Friday night with my wife and one of our sons. They sat us right away at a high top by the bar. Our waitress Corin was attentive and friendly. We had the cheese trio with honey and candied bacon - its a yummy starter with some great flavors. Son got a burger and he said it was delicious. Wife got a salad and steak and loved it. We sat at our seat for 15 minutes before the waitress came over, she busy wiping down tables. The hostess stand had 3 people standing there talking and looking around, it was not busy for a Friday night. When the waitress finally came over, she looked and acted like she didn't want to be there. We ordered drinks and we received them right away. They were out of the prime rib so I ordered the filet. The meal came out very quickly. The steaks were delicious and that's why I am giving 3 stars. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food my prime rib was perfect, my wife's filet was out of this world. My daughter's shrimp scampi had the perfect balance between the butter oil and garlic. This is most definitely a keeper and we will be returning for much more. read more

Happy hour only review! They are new (just opened in late July/early August 2019 we think) and overall the place is gorgeous inside - especially to know it used to be an old TGIFridays! We went for happy hour (1/2 price flatbreads and cheese board) and sat out at the bar with the windows open and it is a new, refreshing take on Exton's restaurant scene. Staff was all very nice/welcoming and food was very tasty. Draft beer selection was small, but being a steak house their wine selection is much larger. We enjoyed the flatbreads (buffalo and veggie/goat cheese) a lot, but their chop house martini was a bit too sweet for us and the tuna in the Ahi tuna salad was a bit over cooked. The kitchen staff is getting up to speed and think any negative reviews so far were too harsh for a brand new restaurant. We will come back for a steak soon! read more

Food was good but didn't blow me away. $148 without tip for lunch. 5 drinks (most of the $$$) guacamole/lobster app, filet mignon for hubby (which he said was delish) and blue cheese buffalo chicken flatbread for me.
