We stopped in for the French onion soup and it was delicious. Nice big portion. Nice decor but a little loud and we didn't care for the music.

White cosmo was delicious

Had a fantastic first experience here and wanted to share. We had just come from another restaurant and had waited an hour and a half for our food, only for the order to have been forgotten and it to never come out. We were hangry and starving. We told our waitress this story, and in 10 mins, food arrived for us. She was amazing, did not catch her name unfortunately but we also had Kira, who may have been the manager, checking in multiple times on us and also providing great service. These ladies went above and beyond and had a true sense of urgency and empathy with our story and how hungry we were. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

Went for a birthday lunch and the experience was great. Our server Noah was very intuitive and made excellent suggestions. One of the members in my party had a small issue with their order and Noah was apologetic. He checked on us continuously throughout our visit. The supervisor/manager Lexi came to check on us to see if we were satisfied with how they addressed the small issue, which was excellent! Thank you for your attention to detail Noah. Thank you for acknowledging all of your customers Lexi.

This restaurant continues to be a favorite of my family's! My most recent trip was over Thanksgiving week. We got a reservation the day before and were seated right away. Our server was assisted by a brand new server, and both were amazing! So friendly and they were great at their jobs! My dad and I always split the buffalo shrimp. It is the best app! One thing I love here is they change their menu seasonally. The scallops and risotto is always a favorite of mine, but this fall/winter iteration is my absolute favorite! It has scallops, herb risotto, with brussels, crispy prosciutto, and cranberry sauce. I will be dreaming of this dish for a long time! My dad had the almond crusted halibut. I had a bite and it was delish! I look forward to coming back here over the holidays! I will be getting those scallops again :)

Partner suggested happy hour and I gladly agreed. We tried a variety of their offerings. The Kona beef tips were tasty. First time for a coffee rub. Partner liked them. I was there for the mushrooms. Poutine was regular fries, needed more gravy, and were crispy like they had been broiled to melt the cheese. Again tasty, but not something I crave. I really had high hopes for the panzanella salad. Burrata is always good. The seasoning was just overpowering, a lot of black pepper, too much vinegar, not enough oil and the heavy application of pesto was not needed. Service and drinks were good. Still like this place. Just a few things were not to my taste

Kennett mushroom flatbread.

Dined at Chop House in Exton. It was our Anniversary and wanted to make it easy, casual, but decent dining experience. We chose Chop House for the service, quality, and coziness of their booths. We requested a window side table instead of one of the tables in the middle of the restaurant. They honored our request offering either a regular booth or hightop table. For our 5pm reservation we opted for the window side booth and the shade was pulled down so as not to cast a golden hour glare on us. Our server, Kendall, was attentive, friendly, and very professional. For appetizers, we ordered French Onion Soup and shared a Kennett mushroom flatbread. Soup was tasty but a little bit on the salty side. Still good. It paired well with the mushroom flatbread with a crisp crust, gooey cheese, and marinated mushrooms. Excellent combo! For our entrees, my husband ordered the chop house burger with fries on a seeded roll and I ordered the lettuce wrap with steak. Burger was dripping juicy all over the plate. Sopped up all that flavor with the fries. The lettuce wrap was flavorful. However, bib lettuce wasn't holding up to the task. I ended up shredding the bib lettuce and placing the carrot slaw, bean sprouts, and grilled steak cubes on top. More manageable and easier to eat this way. The peanut dressing drizzled on my salad made it perfect. For dessert we kept it simple: 2 orders of creme brulee topped with a mint leaf and a few raspberries. I loved the sound of the caramelized sugar cracking as the spoon cut in. The custard was so creamy. You definitely have to order the creme brulee here. Truly the happy ending to this meal. We look forward to dining at Chop House again. Maybe we'll bring the kids... maybe not. (It's a family friendly restaurant.)

My friend's parents are regulars here so I visited for a special occasion. The stars were the peach & ricotta flatbread, the Brussels sprouts, and the calamari. The calamari sauces were delicious-- green and red sauces. It was quite oily and mixed with a bunch of banana peppers. The mashed potatoes were soft & garlic flavored. I ordered the buffalo chicken flatbread for myself, and it was very cheesy! Incredible & personable service from our server Amanda. She was available for all our questions and made us feel welcomed. The restaurant is cozy and beautifully decorated for the holidays.

Nice dining experience and food was tasty but expensive. Ambiance was a nice, modern vibe and not too loud. I got the pan seared scallops over risotto, It was good, but on the website it all had such a nice sear. The NY strip was big and juicy, and the green beans were okay and the fingerling potatoes were good. The house made steak sauce was unneeded for us, but you may enjoy it. The service was good, and this place works for a date or nice dinner option. We were too stuffed for dessert, which didn't have too many options anyway, but the entrees were worthwhile.

Got the filet mignon and it was super tender. It almost melted in my mouth and didn't need any sauce. The grilled asparagus on the side was fresh and lightly seasoned. Staff was very friendly and checked in at the right moments. It's a nice place for a slightly fancy dinner without being too formal. My drink was also made perfectly. I left really happy with the whole experience.

I met a friend here for happy hour. It was my first time. I had been to the previous establishment,…read morethe Ship Inn, several times. When I first drove up, I didn't not immediately recognize it as the former Ship Inn because the traffic pattern at the intersection was different and the building looked more updated. The interior was spacious. My friend was at the bar where we sat the entire time. Since my friend was a regular, he knew the bar tender, Morgan. He vouched for her Old Fashioned which just happened to be what I had planned to order. The Old Fashioned was good. She made it with Evan Williams Bourbon. It had a good blend so that it was not too sweet, too bitter or overpowered by the bourbon. My friend ordered Garlic Parmesan wings which he seemed to enjoy. We sat talking for a couple of hours and never felt rushed. The vibe at the bar was friendly as folks came in and out for drinks. I will go back and check out the restaurant next time.

I had a pizza, which was thin-crust, had flavorful sauce, and a solid cheese-sauce ratio. I would've finished the whole thing if it wasn't for the beer flights! I had two flights and each of the beers I tried I would order again. They're named nautically which made ordering them honestly fun. Wait staff was friendly and timely, so much so that I'm already planning a return! I will say that many tables were empty so it was a bit easier to serve us, but I hope in the future VK gets more business. Good people, good food, great beer.

Visited with my girlfriend for Valentine's Day! Service was great even though it was a busy night…read moredue to the holiday. We loved the decorations in the restaurant too, seeing all the local dog portraits on the wall while we were waiting for our table was enjoyable. The food was incredible. We recently moved to Exton and haven't really gotten a chance to spoil ourselves, and White Dog was a great place to do so. We started with the Mushroom Soup, Oysters, and Artisan Cheese Board. All were delicious! One of the things I loved most were the portion sizes. For the price it was only a touch expensive, but for good reason, the entrees were delicious. My girlfriend got the Salmon, I had the Seafood Bucatini, and textures were masterful. The contrast between the tenderness of the shrimp/scallops and the broccoli rabe/parmesean crisps made each bite a truly special experience. I'm going to be dreaming of how light yet flavorful the sauce was too!! The GF is telling me to stop typing but I could go on and on about this meal. Thank you!!! We will be back

When I arrived to enjoy a nice New…read moreYears Day meal with my husband and his 83 year old mother to celebrate her birthday, Christmas, and the New Year - the hostess was wearing pajamas. At this age and point in history, it takes a bit to phase me, and I will say - I was phased. Without meaning to, I looked her up and down and gave her a stare that must've conveyed, "WTH?" I said my name and that I had a reservation for 3. I was with my mother-in-law who quite clearly has physical disabilities and the hostess asked, "Do you want to wait for the other person in your party?" Um, no, I want to get my elderly and infirm MIL seated. "No, he's parking and will be right in." "Follow me." And she proceeded to take us quite literally to the seating section that was the absolute furthest away from the front door, as my MIL hobbled along behind her. And the place was dead, so there was no need for that lack of sensitivity. Situational awareness, peeps. When we were seated, each of us was given a different menu. One read "Lunch" one read "Brunch" and one read "Dinner'. We flagged someone down and she said, "Oh, I don't know which menu it should be, let me find out." "You've been open for 4 hours and you don't know what menu you're using?" I wondered quietly to myself. Then the waiter arrived, perfectly affable, also in pajamas, and when he left, my MIL asked, "What is going on? What is everyone wearing?" I said, "Pajamas." NOT the nice meal we had in mind for her. The waiter explained it was a tradition because one day, on New Year's Day, the woman who started the restaurant in the 80s had been so drunk she was incapable of adulting and putting on proper clothes to come to work dressed professionally - so to honor her poor life skills and bad choices - all the staff is now forced to wear pajamas on New Year's Day. How nice for the rest of us. I could see that on a day like April Fools or Halloween or "Bring a Drunk Restaurant Owner to Work Day", but not New Year's Day. But hey - whatevs. The least you could do is push this fact out to people so if someone is looking to have a nice meal in a traditional atmosphere to start the new year - they could consent and/or make another choice. Which clearly, we would have. So odd.
