Came here while in town for my best friend's birthday. We were staying at the casino and wanted to…read moreget out for a bit, so we ended up in this downtown area and found this spot. Really glad we did. The area was busier and with more foot traffic than we expected, which actually made it fun for people watching. We sat outside and the vibe was just easy and welcoming. Not packed, but well attended. Service really made the night. Angel took great care of us and didn't just check in, he actually spent time with us, talked through things, and made the whole experience feel personal. The general manager (we believe his name was) Kevin came over as well and was just as engaged, calm, and genuinely open. Food-wise, the beef and chorizo meatballs were insane. Easily one of the best things we had all weekend. The steak skewers with mashed potatoes were also excellent. Great flavor, cooked right, and the presentation was really nice. We also tried the meat paella and it didn't hit the same. The meat was overcooked and the balance felt off. We shared that honestly, and both Angel and Kevin handled it incredibly well. No defensiveness at all. Kevin comped the dish right away and said he'd talk to the chef, which I respected. Drinks were fun and creative. We tried the coconut lavender and the Honeycrisp sangria. Both really unique, just a little sweet for my taste. Overall, this is a place that clearly cares about the experience. Great service, standout dishes, and they handle feedback the right way. I'd absolutely come back for those meatballs alon

Sit on either side because it doesn't matter at all. Not much atmosphere but it's certainly not a fast food spot. I've never seen more than three tables occupied for lunch. They do take reservations! Absolutely nothing remarkable about the food. Get the "ensalada pollo" for a salad and you'll get some greens, doused in dressing, onions, some cherry tomatoes and tough chicken. It was fine. Staff are a bunch of kids. They do their best. If they forget you just go find them. They're around.

Come back, Culturas! When this tapas joint opened up in 2008, I was excited -- I already loved El…read moreSerrano, and Culturas was just a kicked up version with more options and smaller plates. It quickly became my go-to place for special occasions and date night. To get there, you walk through the main dining area and take an elevator upstairs -- it feels like you're being whisked away to your own private VIP area. The tables upstairs are smaller and fewer, so it's naturally more intimate and less noisy than the main floor, below. The menu had everything you could want -- papas rellenos, yucca, lomo, lamb lollipops, chuletas, camerones, fried avocado, and the most delicious gazpacho I've ever had. When my family was in town, we used to order two or three plates each to share and a carafe or four of Sangria for the table. They changed chefs, they switched hours, they updated the menu (which no longer included gazpacho!), and the last time I was able to go was in 2018. Now the staff tells me Culturas is temporarily closed while they try and find another chef. It's a shame, because it really was one of a kind for Lancaster, so I hope they reopen and expand the hours again. Most recently they were only open two days a week with limited hours. A real bummer.

They have a lot of interesting-sounding offerings but today i kept it simple with the steak frites with chimichurri entree. It wasn't hot. For a nice clean, plain dish i didn't hate it. It wasn't a fabulous steak tho. But it was fine. Honestly for the price it was a good basic item i shouldn't really complain. The fries were seasoned well but the bland steak juice dripping onto them, of which there was a lot, was making them unpleasant. The special tonight sounded really good I have a feeling that item would've been to a higher standard. My date liked her veg options. Next visit we'll try the cordero and the papas bravas

Our food came out within a reasonable amount of time and it was freshly prepared. Everything I had was so delicious, I certainly have to go back to try some other things. Our food was Gambas Al Ajillo (sautéed shrimp), Ragut de Setas (sautéed mushrooms) and a board (I don't remember the name) which contained fried cheese, chicken strips, fried pork chunks, empanadas and more. We had plenty to take home! The atmosphere was nice. I really liked the booths.

Dishes worth returning to: Patatas Bravas Beef skewers Croquettes Stuffed peppers The rest was meh. Cheesecake was overcooked, salad was under seasoned, salmon had a weird sauce to it, octopus was fishy and slimy. I used to love this place. It's a shame the quality has gone down. In both locations. We then had Casoncelli a veal stuffed pasta with golden raisins, amaretti and parmigiana as well as Siscillian Meatballs (3) served in escarole broda, crumble pine nuts and parmigiana. We had no room but still got dessert! The pistachio cream cake with cherry jubilee and a beautiful flor de latte ! we also had the espresso ice cream cake with toffee and salted caramel. I can not put into words how delicious and beautiful everything was! it was art on a plate. We wanted to compliment the chef and he came out to thank us!!! What a talented and nice man. The experience was a little bizarre. Their website says "Rosalie doesn't allow reservations for 1,…read moreplease just walk in". I walked in, as directed, just for a very flustered man at the front of the house to fumble with his system for a good 10 mins. Telling me there was a table, then taking it back and saying there were no tables for the night, then saying nevermind and making me a reservation for two (which I would have done if not discouraged by the website) for half an hour later. At this point I already had a very bad taste in my mouth from the level of chaos. I waited outside for my table. When I got to my table I will say my server was very nice until a strange comment came up at dessert. Once I ordered my dessert, he left and came back with two spoons, saying "I brought two spoons for us." It almost seemed implied he'd join me. I dine a lot alone, voluntarily. Most of the time it's after work and I really don't want, let alone need, company. His comment gave me anxiety as I wondered how I would politely tell this man I wanted to dine alone. When he brought the dessert he did not join me but made sure to say "I'll be back for a few bites." Maybe it was a joke but to me it was very odd and made me pretty uncomfortable. I gave three stars just for the Cacio e Pepe. It was very good. I did (without giving tmi) have a very sick stomach after the meal and the morning after so I wouldn't return just incase that was the cause. Like a said... a weird experience.

We actually ordered a second one because of how good it was. The shrimp and garlic were fresh, the size was large, and even the bread paired really well with it.
