I went with a bunch of guys I work out with one morning, and we had a nice time with breakfast there. the staff was very helpful and kept our coffees filled, and the food was good as well. I think I ordered one of their classics with eggs and pancakes (think it was called Main Line something), and it was solid breakfast food. This was a place I went in high school. I live in another state but I was home for a reunion. We went to breakfast here. It was a great breakfast stop. I had a great breakfast. I love to get the scrapple. I can't get it in RI so I always get when in PA. We were greeted quickly and our waitress was wonderful. They have lots of seating here. The food is actually awful. I grew up here, I know it's a really classic spot, but the food is just awful. No complaints about the service, just the WORST food. If you are under the age of 75, go elsewhere. I got a Reuben, and it was the worst reuben I've ever eaten, no exaggeration, in my life. It wasn't even on rye, even though the menu said it would be. The meat was rubbery and lukewarm. My husband is REALLY easy to please, and even he said his burger was "really bad" and he "powered through" to get it down. My cousin got the Greek salad with chicken, and it looked decent enough. Nowhere near worth the price, but probably the best of our orders. But definitely not worth the price. read more

My family and I have been coming here for many many years. The quality came down right after the pandemic, and now I feel the quality went back up again (thankfully). The service here always has been stellar with super friendly servers. The quantity of food they give you is always plenty. Good comfort food cooked perfectly. Usually I ask for my corned beef hash BURNT, well done and crispy. I forgot, I was sleepy from taking the red eye from LAX. It was cooked perfectly! Eggs were eggactly how I love them. Potatoes were a little crispy and soft on the inside. I wanted sourdough but my only choices were white, wheat and rye. The toast was Texas toast little sister. Had a thickness to it but very light and fluffy. The server was very hospitable. Although I saw 3 people standing at the counter and I desperately wanted more water. It took a couple of minutes. My wife and I went for a late lunch on 2/18/26. I ordered the mousakka. It didn't look or taste like any mousakka I'd ever had before. Not cooked in a lasagna casserole dish as usually done. Just a bunch of stuff heaped on to the plate with sauce. Very ugly and unappealing in appearence. It had eggplant in it which was only half cooked. I couldn't get myself to eat more than 1/4 of it. My wife had the eggplant parmisian which she found substandard. Pancakes and burgers might be OK. But for anything more adventerous I can't recommend this place. read more

She ordered the pancakes with 2 scrambled eggs ($10.29), and I got the French toast with bacon ($11.79). Even though the diner was busy, we received our food in about 15 minutes. The older gentleman (may have been the owner)saying nothing and looking not too friendly took us to our booth, threw the menus on the table and walked away. Minella's is a classic main line diner, with really solid food at even better prices. To put it another way, this is the place to satisfy your breakfast cravings without breaking the bank on artisan challah french toast or anything too fancy. My favorite thing to order is the Tooz Eggs Benedict, which is a typical benny except with breakfast sausage links instead of Canadian bacon. Their sausages are savory and delicious, and the eggs they use are of good quality, as the yolks are nice and orange! We also like the main line special of bacon, eggs, sausage, and pancakes; the flank steak and eggs; and their French toast with strawberries. Some things on their menu are just ok, like the chocolate chip pancakes with the chips just in a pile on top and not mixed in. Other things I wouldn't order again, like the tuna melt- which seemed to have an entire can of oily tuna piled onto one side of an English muffin, and wasn't even hot enough to melt the cheese on top. These kinds of duds are more likely to happen when the menu is so big. It's fine just as long as you know what to order. Whenever we've come for breakfast or brunch, my boyfriend and I have been seated very promptly. The diner has a very large floor plan and room to seat big groups too. We've seen a lot of college students and their families, local groups of friends and couples, and bigger family brunches after church. It's a very comfortable and family friendly space for sure. We ordered a steak , chicken crab cake platter and disco fries to share. It was all over cooked , dry and .... They gave us well done gyro meat and told me it was medium rare filet mignon, and it didn't taste, look or smell like any steak I've ever seen. The disco fries were cold and came out 15 after our food. I didn't want a discount ( I didn't get one) and when we got up to leave the manager rushed over to the table to make sure we had money on it before we left the restaurant as if we were going to walk out without paying. Minella's was extremely clean and the service was excellent. Our waitress was very pleasant and came over with tall glasses of ice water as soon as we sat down. Pot roast, which is plated with an odd little potato croquet, tastes like what they might serve in the army. "Your meatloaf is much better than this," my husband said. Meatloaf isn't exactly my forte, but he's right. Fried chicken was salty and over-battered. And the sides? T chose coleslaw and potato salad. "These potatoes are half raw!" I said, trying a bite. "Taste these carrots," my daughter added. They appear to have been cooked in apple juice, resulting in a dish that perhaps sounds good in theory, but misses the mark. On the plus side, Andrea, our waitress was the epitome of service with a smile. An asset to Minella's! How has it been 8 years since I've reviewed this place? Time flies. Minella's now has a special meaning for me as it's where Lion and I had our first date. He is a breakfast-for-dinner guy. That's the beauty of diners. We went today for an early dinner after a hike at a nearby nature preserve. As it was early it was not super crowded, which makes us more comfortable in a COVID world. This time I ordered the Pastitso, often called Greek Lasagna. Layers of noodles, ground beef and béchamel with a tiny bit of tomato sauce. Came with a cup of soup & two sides. Lion got his breakfast-for-dinner of pancakes, scrambled eggs & sausage. The Pastitso was yummy, chicken noodle soup also quite good, veggies nice. Lion enjoyed his food - lots of eggs! We finished with a classic sundae of vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, wet walnuts and whipped cream. Yummmmm Outdoor dining area is gone, back to being a parking lot.
