Don't bother making a dinner reservation before a show, awful experience. The food was mediocre and [[HIGHLIGHT]]we got seated at a low top table near the front.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On the surface, that sounds OK, but [[HIGHLIGHT]]all the people who didn't pay their insane prices for food and drinks ended up standing in front of us blocking our view of the show that we essentially paid a premium to see.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Seriously, save your money. If you really want to see a show here, go for the show only.

Went on a Wednesday night to see the Fabulous Arnetta Johnson! The show was Great! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was comfortable[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] & the food wasn't bad. Our waiter was attentive & checked on us frequently enough to my satisfaction. I definitely recommend 118 North to see a live show.

Although very over priced we were pretty impressed with our food. I read reviews ahead of time and did the research to know what not to order and what to order. The 118 burger did not disappoint. Surprisingly delicious and very filling. It's a double burger which is my favorite. And has Taylor pork roll on it which I've never tried before. I don't even like pork roll but this was delicious! The fries were also amazing. My bf loved his cuban - the bread looked great. We ended Up getting the last chocolate olive oil cake - it was really more like a brownie not cake. It was really big we shared it but I could've downed it on my own lol. It was amazing... the espresso beans and fresh cream and cherries were delightful. Such a good dessert. It was very rich so be aware. Overall we had a great experience.

Who's mad at this place. Music is always a good time at a bar especially when it's good music. You're gonna get a crowded spot and service is gonna be difficult the more crowded it gets. Yes they took a hot minute to clear the tables or flag em down for more drinks but it all gets done. Eat first before the show starts of you want a good spot and put up with the crowd once a show starts and enjoy the vibes. As for food we all enjoyed everything we orders. It's pretty great for a bar establishment. Prices weren't tooooo horrible for some good food. We got the brisket nachos, chicken flatbread pizza, coconut shrimp and sweet potatoes. All were winners in my eyes. Dudes especially loved the sweet potatoes and nachos. Me too. I liked the shrimp, the fillings were different from hawaiian but had a kick too it with something creamy added to the sweet chili dip. Loved the music and the vibes and the music

Excellent Gastro pub meats super cool music venue. Even if you are not a live music person you might want to swing in for a meal here. Let's start with food. The season inspired menu keeps their popular standerds while mixing it up with additions according to the seasonal vibe. Last night I tried a few new menu items. The deviled eggs with smoked trout row were simple perfection. Recently I've had deviled eggs elsewhere and I have noted that the egg white part has been rubbery. Not at 118 North, The whole egg was cooked to perfection. Yum! I highly recommend starting with an order of theses. And there is another new menu item called sweet potato fries. They are not exactly sweet potato fries like sticks and more like home fries? They absolutely outrageously, phenomenally delicious! The combination of the maple butter and bacon topped with the Remoulade and scallions made every morsel bite delicious. I literally licked the plate/Iron skillet that it came in. I would recommend getting these as an appetizer or even a dessert or just a snack. I will again, maybe tonight. They change the soup to a butternut squash that is reminiscent of their fantastic broccoli cheddar soup in the best way. I love their soup! In the past I've devoured their epic cheeseburger and recommend their short rib nachos and Brussel sprouts as well. They've added a Bavarian pretzel and also offer actual entrée dishes Like roasted chicken with sweet mashed potatoes, Bronzino, filet mignon salad, Poor boy catfish and so on. There's so many good choices in wayne and 118north totally competes. We have seen many bands at 118North ranging from funk, Rolling Stones, reggae music and Thursday night Grateful Dead tribute bands. we've even seen a couple opening acts with cellos and such. This is a very intimate setting to see live music and while I can be tight sometimes it's always has a terrific vibe. If you are afraid of super loud music please bring earplugs. I did last night and they seem to help. It's not death threateningly loud but it wouldn't hurt. It's also nice note that the women's powder room has some stock items and is kept clean. The bar is great with delicious drinks it's priced fairly and stocked nicely. The servers are super great friendly and talented. I love this place!

We were a party of four, and we took the time to socialize however after about 15 minutes the waitress returned and did take our drink orders along with an appetizer order. The busboy brought our appetizers and quickly walked away leaving us to find our own napkins for the finger food. At this point we knew the night was going to be sad, when we received our food before the busboy could leave again we asked if he could bring us some cutlery. We ordered two meals with my strip steaks and one penne pasta dish and one Mac and cheese dish, the pasta plates were the best simply due to the charcoal burnt ends of the steaks. The waitress remained vacant for the night and we had to request our bill to leave. Not quite sure what was the problem this night however just stay cautious and calm if you visit.

I haven't been to a comedy show in almost 30 years. It was a lot of fun and so much fun to laugh. The comedians did a great job improving w the audience. I would also like to add that our cocktail server was very attentive. If you go- The Vault is on The Raddison side and we parked on the casino side. Totally OK with this and we were seated right away. Never felt rushed to move and we had a few drinks, a couple appetizers and we all ordered a meal too. The fried pickle chips were fantastic. More panko type breading and not heavy in batter. Piping hot upon arrival. The wings (standard buffalo) were quite tasty too with perfect heat for standard buffalo. They make them naked or battered and we opted for the naked. I had the Carl's Favorite Chicken sandwich (Grilled breast, avocado, tomato, provolone, bacon and garlic long hots on brioche). It was not a monster of a sandwich which was great because it wasn't messy at all, but I barely detected any long hots except for one bite and avocado was two small little pieces. Skimped for sure, but I was pretty full by the point I was almost done with it. Served with store bought crinkle cut chips. They were OK but would prefer homemade chips. The band was loud, but sound quality was excellent. Lots of friendly folks bopping all around the place, enjoying live music (the way it should be). I'd return to see a show and try a few more menu items. Service was very friendly except for one guy handling drinks at the bar. They all chipped in to serve you, which was nice. No hunting down your server was much appreciated when it was time to close out. $175 with tip for four.

So I got one small boneless skinless breast for around $15.00 with the FF. The chicken was just okay .... It wasn't charred and the BBQ sauce was just average. Disappointed that a rib joint is serving boneless skinless. The hand cut FF were pretty good. I used a little salt and vinegar. Also, had Iced Tea. All in all ... it was just okay I might go back and try rye ribs but the chicken is just okay. Honestly, I'm not hopeful. Another customer was eating the ribs and they didn't looked char grilled either. Just simmered in sauce or reheated in the microwave not sure. The inside looked and smelled like an old pub and the bar was sticky more than likely from dry beer. The bartender provided food service and was singing along with the juke box.

With my first review during the early days of 2014, I was impressed with what I saw there while being critical of what needed grounds for improvement. Now nearly ten years later I need to give due thanks to them not only for fixing the snafus that I saw but also for exceeding expectations in a lot of the other departments! The first thing I love is AMH's commitment to the local area which you see in their partnership with Ripplewood that sees them sharing a kitchen and a lot of events. But you also see it in the local acts that they bring in on a regular basis, and the exterior events that they provide the music for like outdoor shows in Suburban Square, and the big Ardmore Rock n' Ride Festival. During the pandemic, AMH helped keep my sanity by still live-streaming events like two nights of the Philadelphia Music Festival and a super fun Living Colour show. I've also grown to appreciate the the brews and food that they bring have since all the food comes from Ripplewood, and their tap list might just be the most extensive and reasonably priced that I've seen for a music venue. The main reason to go to AMH is the shows. And in the past few years I've been able to see local acts like The Dead Milkmen, Low Cut Connie, and Japanese Breakfast; and well known acts like Flock of Seagulls, Fishbone and Chameleons (UK) play here. Toss in things like dance partiea and beer festivals, and it definitely runs the full gamut of providing a good time.

I ordered the roast beef sandwich with fries...my friend ordered muscles and the ham sandwich special. The muscles arrived cold. Not warm, not tepid...just cold. They were sent back for a trip in the microwave which is a place that shellfish should never journey too...if you want them to remain tender. When I ordered, I asked about a few items and was assured that "people love the roast beef". Now I've had "French Dip" style roast beef before at other restaurants, and when done right...it's a memorable experience. Crusty toasted torpedo style roll brimming with thinly sliced hot beef...provolone cheese melted over the top and down the sides...served with a side of au jus dipping sauce, that you would want to slurp down a soup bowl full. But this...was not that! The sandwich arrived on a hamburger style bun...the meat was piled "adequately" in the center but sloped off considerably as it headed for the edge of the bun. There was no need to worry about meat falling out as I took a bite...as none of it protruded past the buns edge. The cheese was there...a single uninspired round slice covered the cold and somewhat soggy bottom of the bun... and wasn't melted...at all! I suspect that the kitchen assumed that the meat would melt the cheese...but the meat would have to be hot for that to happen. In this sandwich...the closer you got to the middle of the "meat mound"...the colder it got. And little did I know when asked if I wanted provolone on the sandwich...that it would be an additional charge. Now for my fries. They weren't hot...they weren't even warm...they were "ice cold"! I sent them back light heartedly joking that there must be a door open in the kitchen (it was a cold evening) and the server returned shortly with hot fresh ones...minus the pickles that were on my plate. This goes to show that fries can reach the table...hot. The hot ham and cheese sandwich "special", served on a pretzel bun, wasn't hot...and wasn't special. I saw no melted cheese...only thin dry slices of ham, stiff as roofing shingles, protruded from the roll. There was no mustard...no sauce...no "something special" to make the "special", special... just stiff little sad ham planks...wondering where they went wrong On both recent visits...the service has been "spotty". (I know that cell service in the pub isn't spotty, because on my first visit...both servers had their heads buried in their phones). It doesn't seem like there's a real system in place for insuring that the customers receive "attentive" service. To their credit...they did remove the muscles from the check without us asking...but I never got a feeling that the next party to walk through the door...would have a better experience. When you find a good local pub with great food...it's like going to eat at grandmas house. You know that you'll always leave feeling warm, wanted, and fed really well. And you'll be excited by the thought of a return visit. I'm still looking.
