I had great experiences in past years but my last two visits were abysmal! The Arugula Thai beef salad I received in the past was craveably good; this last visit it was swimming in dressing (a large puddle in bottom of the bowl) which wilted the arugula; the beef was inferior and not cut against the grain so large, unchewable slabs made it embarrasingly inedible. (I say "embarrassing" because this was an important business lunch and it's a challenge to discreetly spit out unchewabke food.) I informed the waiter the salad was wilted and overdressed shortly after it was delivered. I wanted to be low key and not awkwardly delay our ability to eat together so I said I'd keep it (not that he offered otherwise), thinking it would be good enough. It was not and I left 90% of it in the bowl. There was no gesture to make an adjustment which means they are ok with serving poorly prepared food. My colleague ate very little of her meal as well -- a very over-cooked burger. (She's athletic and usually eats well.) She did murmur something about the restaurant no longer being what it was. I can't imagine how standards in both the kitchen and front of house have hit rock bottom from how wonderful they had been. This will be very hard for them to recover from; the place was not busy at all at 1pm. In the suburbs, the potential customer base is pretty fixed; one or two unapologetically-bad meals and people have no reason to return. In the past, there used to be precious few nice places to eat in the Haverford area. White Dog -- Haverford, anyway -- had become one of the best options. Now it's among the worst. There are increasingly more options that care about food quality Unless you're just at White Dog for a drink and the lovely decor, eat elsewhere. They simply no longer care if they can't even make a salad or properly cook a burger. There is no skill or concern in that kitchen any more. So disappointed.

Gina even gave me her personal cell phone number and told me to call her anytime if I needed anything. Every time I reached out, she responded immediately with professionalism, kindness, and genuine enthusiasm. She made me feel like no request was too much trouble. On the day of the event, Gina exceeded every expectation. She personally provided directions for unloading and arranged for her staff to help carry in all of my decorations. Her positive attitude never wavered. She never responded with "no" or "I can't." Instead, she focused on finding solutions and making everything work. Nearly 40 guests attended the shower, and so many of them commented on how beautiful and perfectly organized everything was. I honestly could not have pulled it off without Gina's support, guidance, and willingness to help every step of the way. The hummus was delightful. Super creamy and flavorful. I ordered the Dionysius cocktail which was quite refreshing and light. I was in the mood for a carbonated drink and this was perfect. The Estia Chips are a MUST, especially if you're a zucchini and eggplant fan. These little half moons were fried to perfection and come with a side of tzatziki. I was sad when we finished them. Their tuna is cooked rare (it's reflected on the menu as such) but oh so yummy. I was expecting a steak, but instead, squared pieces of tuna wrapped around sautéed spinach were served to me. Disappointing Ambiance Despite Good Food…read more The food was good, but unfortunately, the dining experience was ruined by excessively loud hip-hop music. For night dinners at these prices, I expected a relaxing atmosphere where I could enjoy the meal and conversation. Instead, the music played for staff's entertainment; it was so loud that it became difficult to relax and enjoy the experience. We asked the staff to lower the music, and it was lowered for about 10 minutes then was raised again. This is not creating a comfortable dining atmosphere for customers. The seating arrangement was also far too crowded. Some tables were less than two feet apart, making it very easy to overhear other customers' conversations--and for them to overhear ours. Polite standard rule is 3ft. space between tables rather than trying to fit in as many seats as possible. Having an ass in your face while eating when walking in between tables is gross! The food was good, but the loud music and overcrowded seating significantly took away from the overall experience. Unfortunately, because of the atmosphere, I won't be returning.
