In late December I met up with a friend so we could catch up and grab some breakfast. I've been told numerous times to dine at Nook and Kranny. I finally had the opportunity to. Located across the street from the local fire department you will find a small dining establishment with the feel of a small hometown eatery. There are regulars, and it's a place where they will begin to learn your name. The food a pretty good. No complaints. My friend opted for eggs Benedict and scrapple. He gobbled it right up. I went classic, scrambled eggs with bacon and for a sweet treat a pancake. Everything was cooked to order and the bacon was crispy, just how I like it. Staff were extremely friendly and efficient. I wanted to try this location for over a decade, and finally made the decision to make it a breakfast meetup with a friend. We both were excited when we walked in. It is small and seating is limited. (1st come, 1st served). We were caught up with looking at everything and fighting our hunger pains that we asked the waitress for more time. I enjoyed a flavored coffee with non-alcoholic Kahlua spices, and my friend enjoyed their house brand. Our waitress was a DELIGHT! She had a sense of humor that matched ours, which made the experience more fun. I think I ate all of my Pina Colada Waffles and left some home fries for a later, and she ate half of her Monte Cristo sandwich and home fries. SO GOOOOOD!!! If we were not on a schedule, we could have sat there for hours. This will be mine new hideaway (not much of a secret anymore) spot. read more

Very few places do breakfast potatoes with any kind of flair anymore, but this place does. They have an excellent seasoning, they are fried to perfection and some of the chunks still have the skin on them, which is a nice touch. Good people, quality breakfast and very tasty potatoes. This is a cute little cafe tucked away in a small strip mall. The cafe was clean and there was a decent amount of space between diners. The staff was friendly and fun to chat with. I ordered a custom made omelette which included mushrooms, spinach and Swiss. There were plenty of breakfast options, both sweet and savory. The cafe is open for lunch too. The food was tasty. My landlady and I would come here regularly when Holly was here. Service and overall attitude of the place has gone way downhill. This is the third time I've had an awful experience... and this time I just can't forgive it. The last time things were served ice cold and were were given an attitude about asking for it to be warmed. This time - we got in at 11:30. We ordered Tea, 2 cream of mushroom soups and a pastrami sandwich. I have an hour for lunch and this place is literally across the street from my house. At 40 minutes in, we asked about the soups - "did you forget us?" - another 3 minutes later and we are being told that they don't have cream of mushroom and we'd need to get chicken noodle. It took 40 minute to tell us they? No thank you. The restaurant was not busy but apparently the to go orders were. Okay, the people that walk in should take priority. I paid and tipped the server - realizing it was late. (Mind you all we got was Tea) I asked about the sandwich we were charged for - 10 minutes had gone by and still nothing. The waitress looked back at the kitchen, and it hadn't even been started yet. I told her - keep the $18.00 - I gotta go. I gave up. Won't ever be back and we were pretty loyal customers. (Used to come 2-3 times a week) It's become a political place - nobody cares about your defiance of Governmental mandates... From the minute we walked in and were greeted with a friendly and sweet server, Jackie, I felt something special about this place. My friend and I were not disappointed. We came for lunch & I had an omelet with cheddar, spinach and mushrooms; it came with 2 sides and I had fresh fruit and toast. Everything was delicious. The fruit was ripe and beautiful, no hidden imperfect pieces. The multigrain toast was artisan thick slices, so yummy. My friend said her BLT was fantastic and gave high praise to the home made vinaigrette on her side salad. Portions were generous, especially for the price. Every coffee mug is different and quite literally might have been owned by your grandmother. The food is fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is inviting and delightful. Let me start this review off by saying I am completely disgusted by the VILE manager who runs this sorry establishment. Completely verbal abusive to all of her cooks and servers. She proceeded to berate the poor waitress in front of the entire restaurant while she was the only staff they had serving tables because food wasn't getting our fast enough. She then screamed at the cooks and made it a completely terrible experience for everyone in the dining room. The potatoes were burnt to a crisp along side with a screaming madwoman what a breakfast!! Very small establishment. Very good food and great people. They are open and welcoming. The food was very good. Nothing crazy, no outrageous ingredients, just good normal food that you want to eat. Our kids ate at a different table in the front while we sat in the back and the staff was great about it, especially when they delivered the check to the kids. My friends and I enjoyed breakfast here for the first time--ordered eggs Benedict and an omelette. The Benedict was delicious with just the right amount of hollandaise sauce and a crunchy buttery muffin! The home fries were skillet fried with peppers an onions. Great local spot for breakfast. They have fantastic coffee. It's small, not not ideal for larger groups. But you can see right into the kitchen. I went there with a couple of friends and they raved about the warm pure maple syrup. I was ordering an egg white omelet, but still had to try a little bit. Service was quick and friendly, but you don't feel rushed. I did an egg white omelet your way it came with potatoes and toast. Very filling and well cooked. I did try a piece of pancake in the warm maple syrup and of course it was amazing. While I don't usually go out for breakfast, this is certainly a place I would go if friends invited me. read more

I go bagel side of bacon and a hash brown at most places. Unfortunately this place has no hash browns. Naturally nit a big deal but today I wanted to ask why not. Well I wish I didn't because quickly I was made to believe I was the idiot for even asking why they don't sell hash browns. 1. Home fries are mediocre at best lmao and take up way more space in the freezer then hash browns. 2. The lady at counter tells me hash browns take up too much freezer space. (See attached picture). 3. Just a little redic to continue on and then say nobody likes hash browns lol uhhhh have you seen McDonald's or been to a McDonald's. They sell millions of hash browns. How is this place up in two stars they told me they cook fresh they lied they do not cook fresh they cook and then heat up leftovers because they think it's so hard to save all what you have there are six tables. I have now eaten both breakfast and lunch at this establishment and can say this is a great little eatery. The breads and rolls they use for their sandwiches and breakfast options are good quality, not your standard prepackaged fare. The fruit is freshly cut, not canned and coffee is piping hot. Everything is made to order. Seating is their only issue (and they do the best they can with the space available) with only two 4 tops and four tables for two. There are eight counter spots so if you don't mind sitting next to your group it works out fine, but this may not be everyone's cup of tea. In any case I definitely recommend giving them a try. Not coming back for a while due to rudeness of the server this morning. I came in with the intention of only ordering to takeout. However, I kindly asked the server if my dog could come inside while we waited for our order and yes, expecting a "no" is to be expected at most times. Fair enough, that was the answer (even though my dog is a service animal, I tend to ask to be kind and not bother anyone). What I didn't expect was the server after she answered me with a rude hard "NO" and dismissed me in arrogant behavior. Then, she proceeded to mock me and my question while she was serving coffee to other customers she was tending. She called me "stupid" and made comments like "a dog... Not today, not on my watch, moron" , "who does this guy think he is, get out of here" and other things of this nature. She didn't say it directly to my face but I could obviously overhear her since I was standing in line to order fairly close to her. I left because of anger towards the comments being made by the server/waitress. Not because of my dog or that he wasn't allowed in. I had already an order of 4-6 food items on my phone. Went somewhere else. I'm local and live nearby, I will stop recommending this place. Food is good, but if this employee attitudes are tolerated by the owners.
