I ordered a cheeseburger with jalapeños, avocados, mayo, onions, on lettuce. I also order french fries. The burger was OK. the lettuce was too flimsy for me. The fries were fries! Dined@ 550 E. Lancaster Ave., Radnor, PA 19087 today and it was terrible. The location is not clean whatsoever. Almost every table had trash all over it. Tables were not wiped down. There were handprints on the windows and furniture. There was only one other patron in the establishment. Someone who appeared to be a manager, who was on a laptop, did not say hello to us, nor care the place was a mess. Our food did not come out together. It took so long that we ate most of our meal, that we asked for the remainder to be taken out. The music played in the kitchen drowns out the music playing in the seating area. Smashburger has dropped off my top tier burger list. I haven't been going frequently, there are lots of other good options in the area, but I stopped in last night and lamented the decision. It wasn't very busy and I placed my order quickly. He started making my chocolate shake immediately, and that was delivered promptly but that's the best I can say about it. It was woefully small, not even coming close to the rim of the small to go cup. I declined the whip cream, so possibly they leave an extra space for that, but this was a joke at over six dollars. Nifty-fifty's shakes cost a dollar more but are roughly triple the size. The chocolate shake seemed like vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce, or possibly chocolate ice cream with too much milk. it was really watered down and utterly disappointing. My burger and fries took almost 20 minutes to come out. I'm guessing they were short staffed as there were numerous people waiting for to go orders. The server apologized for the wait and the food was tasty. Fries were hot and the burger fresh off the grill. Besides the shake, and the wait time, the price is a bit discouraging as well. It was roughly $26 for the meal, with tip. Although this is a sign of the times, I think it's still pricey for the product, especially that little shake. I'll keep this short and to the point. I really wouldn't recommend this place unless you're in a pinch and are craving a burger. That's the exact situation I was in and I left feeling dissatisfied. When I first walked in, it was around lunch time and I was the only person in the restaurant. That should have been my first clue. When I went to the counter to order, they were out of multiple items, but I finally decided on the Double BBQ Bacon Smash burger with a side of fries and a drink. After getting my number I chose the cleanest table I could find (there weren't many), put my stuff down and got my drink. It wasn't a long wait for my food to come out which was nice since I was in a slight rush. After going to multiple tables to find a ketchup bottle that wasn't empty, it was time to eat! The fries were decent, though personally I think they could have been a little more crispy. They gave me stadium fry vibes if you know what I mean. The burger was pretty average in my opinion. It was very juicy but overall just lacked flavor and didn't have the crust that I expected to come from a smash style burger. I found the burger quality to fall somewhere between a cafeteria and a Red Robin burger. Overall the food was acceptable, but at $20 for this meal (not including tip), it's a hard sell. Lastly, the service was just not up to par. The workers seemed unhappy and generally in bad moods. The one worker was on their phone most of the time when it could have been better spent getting the front of the house in order. I ordered a regular cheese burger and large smash fry so my boyfriend and I could split them and he got a double burger (don't remember which one). Forgot that I even tried this location until I was writing this review and noticed that I was here a couple years back. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. I ordered a mushroom burger. It had one raw piece of mushroom and black remnant pieces from a dirty grill. I went to the bathroom because I started feeling sick. The bathroom looked like it was never cleaned since my last visit and to make things even worse, I could smell the odor of cannabis or a lot of partying skunks all throughout the back. We were able to dine in, all protocols are in place. The staff was very friendly. I was a bit confused about the Wawa like kiosk at the front though because it wasn't set up for you to order from but it did reveal your order on the screen as the lady put it in. My mom had the Truffle Mushroom Swiss. She said it was the best burger she's ever had in her whole life. This is coming from a person who routinely crafts her own burgers that in my family's opinion are perfect. My aunt had the Double Smoked Bacon Brisket. She too savored her burger. I had the Double Bacon Smash. Mine was delicious as well but after having it at 2pm in the afternoon I didn't want anything else to eat for the rest of the day. In fact I could have used a nap directly after. Next time I will opt for a single patty. Also, we shared a large Smash fry and it's definitely over priced and the fries were over cooked. Smashburger burgers are among my top 3 favorite burgers based on taste and quality alone. I have eaten at this location at least 4 times since it opened a few years ago, and have never been disappointed. This visit in particular had excellent service! You order and pay at the counter, then sit down, and they bring your food out to you hot and fresh. I like the regular-sized Classic Smash with beef; that's what I got this time. I also enjoy their fried pickles or Smashfries, but this time I tried the Brussels sprouts, which were fun and delicious. They offer fountain and bottled beverages, but I just opted for water this time. It was a nice surprise to get a huge cup for water instead of a little Dixie cup! The restaurant is bright and clean. There is a decent amount of seating considering how small the place is. Bathroom was clean and functional. I really have zero complaints. Can't wait to go back! read more

The place was very clean and well kept. My reason for the 3 stars is that my burger was super greasy ( hubby said his wasn't). I did like you could create your own burger with your choice of cheese snd toppings, however premium toppings like bacon or avocado were extra. They did have a decent variety of fries and sides to accompany your burger. I ordered the garlic smashfries & they were delicious. I've eaten at some burger joints, 5 guys, steak n take, shake shack etc, and NONE touched what I had. Understaffed and overpriced for what you get. Go to Wendy's or Chick-fil-A and get better customer service, and a meal that is given to you quickly... and warm! Even McDonald's has better service-- the man making the bags of meals got in a heated argument with someone in the kitchen... a lot of issues management needs to deal with. I have been here twice now and can make a final verdict - inconsistent! The first time we came here, there was one group in front of us, waited in line for about 5 minutes, and food came out in about 10 minutes. Food was fresh, juicy, and though a bit small, was still satisfactory. The second visit, we went on the same day and time, there were about 3 groups in front of us, and we ended up waiting 23 minutes just to order, and then a other 27 minutes for the food to come out. Talk about the slow fast food! It took us 50 minutes to get our food and 7 minutes to eat it because we were starving. By the time we got our food, our friend had gone next door to Roast and Chop, ordered, eaten, and still had to wait with us just to get our food. read more

Decided to give these guys a go at it. Who doesn't like a burger? I know the carnivore in me loves burgers, so this will be a great experience. I decided to go with their bacon cheeseburger with nice cuts of thick bacon. The bacon cheeseburger was good, had a nice taste to it , you can tell this want a frozen patty. Bacon goes with everything basically , and added onto this bad boy was simply perfect, with an egg bun holding it all together. They do have some interesting sandwich options, unique combinations with chicken being a second option . I know I'll be visiting a few more times to give this menu a go. Also went with an order of smash fries (shoestring) which has a a great blend of olive oil, rosemary, and garlic mixed in. These little guys (and I'll get to that in a moment) they might have been left on the fryer a little too long which turned into "Andy Fries". I'm sure they are not suppose to be crunchy , maybe I caught them on a bad batch. Only gripe I have is I'm not a fan of shoe string fries, but to each their own. Big hands equals zero patience when it comes to grabbing these little guys. The service was good, the young lady asked if everything was OK as she would periodically do her rounds. The menu has a wide variety of options to choose from soda to milkshakes with Häagen Dazs as the main ingredient. We all know how I feel about the milkshake and burger combination, it pretty much seals the deal on perfection. For those who are not carnivores that come to places like this, no need to worry, they have salads along wit veggie burgers for those not into the meat scene. The crew in here are friendly , making sure everything is to your pleasure. Nice clean establishment , with a good amount of seating. I do not understand why Burger chains have to smash the burgers down and let all of those delicious juices run out of them. I would rather have a handmade patty that is full of flavor. Their beef blend is excellent paired with the crispy burn the smash gives their burger. It really is quite excellent. The bun is pretty good, chewy, kind of Brioche-esque. Is was impressed that the mayo sauce on this burger really did have a small hit of truffle flavor that was not noxious or unnoticeable. That was pretty surprising for an $8 Burger.
