Came here during the 'pandemic' of 2020, and business wasn't any slower! Walked in around 11:45 and there was like one worker handling everything, plus more people walking in. They were doing so many call in orders that they barely had time to acknowledge me. So I went online to try to order that way and it said it would be another 15 min. I was on lunch at work so I didn't have time to wait that long... read more

We came here for a quick bite. You order at the counter, grab a number, find a seat and they bring your order to you. Got the Philly Burger on a pretzel bun and it was quite good. Interesting combination with whiz cheese. It was moist. Size a bit on the small size though. I recommend downloading the app for a free side of fries. The milkshake was quite good but nothing to write home about. Overall we had a good time. Place was clean and service was good however I'm not sure I would return as there are many many more yummier burger options around. read more

I would highly recommend Smashburger to anyone and try out their nondairy milkshake but I want them to have a vegan whipped cream added to their menu right along with non dairy milkshakes. Their food was delicious. I would give them a five star rating. read more

Besides ignoring me stsnding there for 10mins, then they were downright rude. Guess giving them business is too much for them? Once they acknowledged my mobile order they told me there were 6 orders ahead of me despite ordering it in advance and being there at the time specified. The food is decent but the complete lack of customer service makes it not worth the trip. Then order ended up being wrong but of course you dont find out until youre home. read more

Terrible, terrible experience. I never write reviews but will never go back to the Radnor Smashburger. I had never tried Smashburger before and was excited to try it. Supposed to be a treat. Terrible food and experience. Save yourself hassle and go to Five Guys - better burgers and fries. Ordered online, I arrive and I'm told it was cancelled and will need to reorder. Had to wait in line to reorder. Have to pay again. Order is ready- I can see it sitting in the window. (Fries were under the heat lamp at least 7 min then in a bag for 5 min) . I am the only person in the store now but the worker spent 6 min bagging 4 burgers for someone not even waiting while I watch my order sit there. Finally. The worker slowly starts bagging my two burgers but gets distracted literally took 5 min to bag- and why use so many individual bags what a waste! Finally hands me my order I get home everything is cold, none of the fries were filled and the onion straws were only a quarter filled. Picture is right after removing from bag. So disappointed. read more

Smashburger - Burgers Near Me - Radnor, Pennsylvania

There is a new gourmet burger joint in town and they are here to smash the competition! I'm sorry, I couldn't resist saying that. It's a good thing the owners didn't use crunch, or slam, wreck. That would be just too weird. Everyone wants to compare them to Five Guys and I get that but they really are a different animal. If you go to FG you want a burger and fries. Sure they have a couple of other things but the focus is burgers and fries. Smashburger has a much broader menu. Most importantly they have chicken and salads. They have the potential to satisfy a much broader audience. I'd have a tough time getting the lovely wife to visit FGs with me as she's not a burger person. She'd accompany me here with no problems. So what did I eat? I tried the BACON CHEESEBURGER in the regular size. I added the SMASHFRIES and a soft drink. The total was a little over $10 which is about the same as FGs. The burger was hot and juicy and very good. The toppings were fine and the bun was excellent. I liked the bun better than FGs. The smashfries were also very good with subtle rosemary and garlic flavors. Overall it was a very decent meal. So which joint would I prefer? My answer is both. Either one does a nice job. I'm addicted to FGs CAJUN FRIES. Obviously I'd need to go there for those slices of spicy heaven. Other than that, either one will do. read more

Lately there has been a surge of nicer burger places opening up in the Philadelphia area. I was particularly interested in Smash burger because they have a lot of chicken sandwiches. I don't eat beef, and it's nice to have an option other than a veggie burger sometimes. At Smashburger you order at the counter, are given a number and cup for your drinks, and then the food is brought to your table in about five minutes. I like that everything is cooked to order because it comes out nice and hot. I got a grilled chicken sandwich with truffle aioli, mushrooms, and swiss cheese. The chicken was perfectly grilled and juicy. There were a lot of mushrooms on the sandwich. My complaint was that it was so over salted. I found out that it was mostly mushrooms that had been over seasoned, so I knocked most of those off. It was better, but still too salty. The truffle flavor was there, but it wasn't overwhelming. I ordered the smash fries, which have rosemary on them. They were good, but again, a little too salty (not nearly as salty as the mushrooms though), and the rosemary flavor was there, but I would have liked more of it. More rosemary and less salt would have been a great improvement. Also, the fries were shoestring and nothing to write home about. If you love really salty food, you'll love Smashburger. If you don't, you'll walk away like I did, thirsty and disappointed. read more

I just finished my first ever Smashburger. It was delicious. I made my own and it was a whopper! Well, not that kind of whopper. It was much better. I created my own and had the following on it... Beef Patty, American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Fried Egg, Bacon, Fresh Jalapeños, Grilled Onions, and Ketchup. Then I also nabbed a fry. The burger was very delicious and filling. The prices seemed pretty much what you'd expect from a place like this and I felt like the food/price value ratio was spot on. My group was myself and two others and for under thirty bucks we all nabbed burgers that didn't skimp on toppings as well as fries. No drinks however. The fries were thin shoestrings and also pretty good. There was no wait to be had and we actually ordered take out so I have no opinion on the inside seating except that I could see the staff actively working to keep it constantly clean and pleasant. I'd eat here again if I wasn't just passing through town. I believe there's at least one of these back in my home state and I hope to find it. It reminded me a lot of Five Guys Burger's and Fries, which is also good, but the thing that really made me happy with this establishment was the ability to add fresh jalapenos. I always get fresh when I have the option as I prefer them over pickled. Eat here. Trust me. Smash that burger into your belly! read more

When it comes to burgers this place is a favorite. I always go back and forth between this and shake shack. But I'm my opinion this is better. The food is faster. The staff is friendly and orders are accurate. As opposed to shake shack Ardmore which is not as friendly and often messes up others. Warning this place is not for lightweights! Take it easy when ordering. This not Wendy's or McDonald's where you can go crazy. Keep the orders reasonable: one burger and one side.. anymore and you will get too full and go into a nap coma lol. read more

One of the greasiest burgers I have ever had. I had a regular burger with bbq sauce, bacon, and onion straws. When the burger arrived it looked like the cheese was sweating. Upon eating the burger I had to constantly free my hands of the grease. The staff was very friendly but in comparison to Five Guys the ground beef was subpar and way too greasy. read more

This is one of those reviews where I wish there was a 0.5 option for stars, yanno? I liked Smashburger. Quite a bit. Am I a fan? Is it A-OK? These are fine lines. The excellent: Burger itself. Very fresh, tasty, never frozen, bun supports it nicely without overstating its' own presence. I freelanced my burger, not going with a 'stated' option. No problem. The very good: Strawberry milkshake make with ice cream. Darn good. Also, I like the layout of the place - there are booths (open on both sides), tables with chairs, and tables with chair/banquette options. No matter what, you're going to find a seating setup you like. The good: Service. Manager kept buzzing by asking me, by name, how my meal was. That was nice borderline creepy but he pulled it off. The "meh": Yeah, people rave about the rosemary garlic smash fries. In the interest of full disclosure, I am not a big fan of rosemary, and I found the fries to have more of a rosemary flavor (scent?) than garlic. They DO make a darn good shoestring fry though and that is not easy to do. If you're like me and not a fan of rosemary in general, skip these. Definitely a solid option for fast food burgers, on par with Five Guys but still slightly below my Holy Grail: In-N-Out Burger. I'll be back with the Young 'Un and Rev. in tow. read more

Standard smashburger. Good food but the staff is always young high schoolers who have no idea what they are doing. McDonald's, taco bell, etc all train their employees, but this chain does nothing. Get the Philly burger. I loved the cheese whiz and mustard on a pretzel bun but I think it would have been better with some greens on it - lettuce, tomato, onion or at least some green peppers. read more

Service: This place has such AMAZING service it makes me want to leave a tip every time. Very friendly, very accommodating, lots of smiles, great attitude. I wish more places provided services like this place does. Hence service review is up top. Food: Smash Fries - olive oil, garlic, and rosemary. Delicious!! BBQ, Bacon & Cheddar burger - plenty of thick bacon. Bbq sauce grilled in between the burger patty and the cheese. Not a whole lot of haystack onions, but still, YUM! Spicy Baja - freshly chopped jalapenos. Loads of guacamole. Yum! Truffle Mushroom Swiss - loads of mushroom, love the egg bun. Get all your burgers with the egg bun! Sweet potato fries - meh. I don't think they go with the burgers much. Smash fries are much better. Strawberry milk shake - I believe they use Haagen Dazs ice cream to make them. Pretty good. Overall, they make really tasty burgers and fries and provide great, friendly service. read more

As the FoodDude I get calls from friends who travel less frequently than me. Recently a buddy asked me about Smashburger and I did recommend he try the chain. This out a tinkering in my head so while driving to another joint today I spotted the Smashburger and changed my plan. I got the crimimi Mushroom Swiss with truffle mayo on an egg dough bun and some smashfries which are very thin cut and tossed in olive oil and parsley. I think they douse the burger in butter as well. Hey why not... Right? This make the burger so super juicy from first bite to last. As burger chains go Smashburger is among my favorites. I haven't been to one in a long time next time I need to remember to get a double but the single burger was ample. I prefer a thicker burger but that a personal choice and does not effect this review. Shortcomings are they bus the tables a little too slowly and I saw people hunting for seats. The layout of separate entrance and exit had guest waiting to order have to circle around to get a menu while waiting. I saw this happen 5 times as I sat rich by the window across from the vestibule. I did like that they had vitamin water in the sofa machine. Smashburger is a smashing success! read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I just nearly consumed a 3x1 piece of plastic. After eating 80% of my burger I felt something alarming in my mouth. I spit it out and there it was; a 3 inch piece of melted, clear plastic that looked like it was cooked on the stovetop along with my burger. I could have choked and died tonight while eating. That would have been a horrible and stupid way to go. I likely consumed a plastic infused burger tonight - wonderful. I immediately drove back to the store where I got my to go burger and caught the manager as he was closing up shop. He reluctantly apologized for the situation and at first asked which of the two burgers had the plastic in it as his initial thought was to refund me for the sole burger. As if it mattered which burger it was! I said please refund me the entire $12.91 bill which he reluctantly did. He showed no remorse or concern for what had happened. He was genuinely unapologetic which was my biggest problem with how things unfolded tonight. Just emailed Corporate - will keep you posted as to what comes of it. Then I may change my stance on this establishment and alter the review score. Until then I will never step foot in this place or any Smashburger location again. Consumers beware! Avoid this place at all costs! read more

The Classic is probably my favorite. It's your basic cheeseburger with American, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and Smash Sauce (mayo, mustard and relish). It was cooked to perfection, a beautiful medium rare with a hard sear on the top and bottom. I really liked the simplicity here because the flavors in the well-seasoned beef patty were the most prevalent. Not too greasy, not too dry. It was perfect. That said, the BBQ bacon cheddar is not to be missed. It's got their haystack onion rings on top and is a flavor explosion! The fries are awesome. Thin, shoestrings that are cooked to perfection. The Smashfries variety has them tossed with rosemary, garlic and olive oil. Simply delicious. They also offer sweet potato fries, another simply delicious item, again, cooked just right. Smashburger is an all around delicious and gourmet alternative to the junk we're so used to eating at the big 3 fast food joints. They don't have a drive-through, so get out of your car and order inside. It won't kill you to take the extra steps, lord knows I needed them. read more

Finally tried this spot for burgers and sadly may have been the worst burger I have ever ordered. So dry.

A bunch of us had just eaten scrawny, $$$$ mainline pizza (reviewed seperately) and after popping to the place next door for a drink we decided We were still hungry so off to Smashburger it was. Pure angus burgers, shoestring fries reminiscent of the 60's which is as far back as this reviewer can remember. Shake to die for! FLASHBACK: its 1963, CY's luncheonette, West Philly. This 4 and a half YO sits spinning on the stool at the counter drinking a milkshake. I might be young but I already know what a good milkshake is. Thats what I am tasting here. A shake made with Haggan Das tastes as good as those ones from way back when all we Philly kids drank were Breyers milkshakes. Same for my burger. It tastes real and additive free. Clean. They are Moving chairs out from the table and wiping each one down as well as tabletops and condiment racks at each table. Twice I was asked if everything met with my satisfaction. I've enjoyed Old fashioned food and service in a clean modern setting. WoooooHoooo from this foodie read more

I stopped in to Smashburger yesterday to pick up a quick lunch - I was excited to see they offered grilled chicken and ordered their buffalo style sandwich and smash tots. The smash tots were okay - they were crispy which is a HUGE Plus in my book - no one likes soggy tots! But the rosemary flavor was not evenly distributed and led to some bites with an off-putting flavor. The chicken sandwich was extremely underwhelming. The chicken itself was flat and rubbery. There was not a lot of buffalo sauce on the chicken and it just did not come across as a buffalo chicken sandwich, but rather chicken with some blue cheese. All in all, not a very satisfying meal. read more

A few years ago, I used to go to Smashburger a lot and it tasted really good. I just had Smashburger for the first time in years and it tasted awful. Dry and unpleasant like something ran out it. Not to mention the toppings on it were either wilted or had MOLD on them. I cannot believe what Smashburger has turned into. Maybe it's the new company owner, maybe it's this particular location but either way, it's gone down hill. read more

I've been to Smashburger locations in North Brunswick, Maple Shade, and Glassboro, which are all on the New Jersey side of the Delaware River. I never knew there was one in DelCo Pennsylvania, so when I saw the name on the strip mall sign as I was driving through Radnor, I knew I had to come back that evening and try it. This is the same strip mall as Micro Center. Parking seemed more than sufficient, although I wasn't there during a peak shopping period. I don't like the interior of this Smashburger as much because it felt a bit cramped. Having tables and chairs/benches closer together than at other Smashburger locations caused people to block and bump into each other more, which is annoying. Aside from that, service is okay and they did refill the iced tea dispenser promptly when it ran out. As with other Smashburger locations, my quibble remains that the food is upscale-priced (for a burger joint), which is more than I expected to pay for what I got. Do try the Sin City Burger though. I'm surprised that this off-menu item is still available at every Smashburger. read more

I love, love, love smashburger. Usually only get it passing through the airport, but, as I have other business in the main line area every month or so, I've been getting my fix more regularly. Service is never bad, but it is a bit hit or miss in here - sometimes it's amazing, and other times it's nothing special. I don't love those crunchy, matchstick fries, so I save my belly space for a burger and a shake. The BBQ Bacon Cheddar is my current obsession - add the tiniest squirt of mustard to set off the BBQ sauce. The shakes are always just right, but make sure you ask for it in a to-go cup, as it is too much to finish in the dining room. read more

Smashburger was awesome. I'd definitely rank this amongst the better burger joints that are springing up everywhere (think Shake Shack and In-n-Out on the west coast). The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was super clean. I had the regular size smashburger and a side of the smashfries. The burger was great- very flavorful, perfectly cooked and most importantly I could tell it was FRESH! my only gripe was that they went too heavy on the smash sauce, which is tasty, but made it messy and I felt like I ate too quick. The smashfries were good. Shoestring fries tossed in rosemary, garlic and olive oil. They had a great flavor, but we're a little too greasy. Next time I'd prob just do regular fries. Looking forward to going back! read more

These are the burgers you try because they were the new fad! But, unless you have a coupon are you are there enough to check in and get their deals it's a little too pricey for my coin purse. The inside is kind of like a school cafeteria and everything is self serve, except the napkins lol those they give you maybe 2. This outpost of Smashburger is infinitely better-run than the one near my home. The red-shirted managers were serving the lunch crowd (Quite busy on a Friday) and very attentive. I actually ordered the Kid's meal and the portion was just fine for me. Glad to see this option. Still, I wish they'd allow upgrades to sweet-potato and/or "smash" fries from "regular" fries. The sweet potato fries (to me) are much tastier. A calorie-bomb for sure - but if you stick to salads and get grilled (not fried) chicken or the (fairly decent) turkey burger you can get away with it once in a while. read more

I have been here many times. I have not once gotten an order correct. Literally never. Went here tonight, got a simple bacon smash burger with lettuce and onion. I got back home and guess what? No lettuce or onion. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the person who takes the orders, or the back kitchen. I've worked in food service for 7 years, and I've never seen this level of ineptitude. Person who took my order reeked of weed, which I don't care at all about, but if you're messing up my order because of it it's a problem. I keep giving this place a chance because they make a good burger, but something is seriously wrong at this location. read more

This is the second location of Smashburger that I have been to. What an improvement it was at the Radnor site. I'm not a big fan of the concept of the cashier also making the milkshakes while there are people in line waiting though. The manager, Tom, explained it to me as a company policy that puts the customer that the cashier is currently with as a priority. You want a shake, I'll make it for you so you don't have to wait. The policy sounds like they are definatly putting that customer first, however, the customers that in line waiting are now having to wait to place their order during this time. This policy, in my opinion, just doesn't work. It would much better to have a separate person make the shake so the cashier can start taking the next person's order. At another location, I had to wait while the cashier made 5 shakes while I waited to place my order. So, I'll start with the bad review first... Here is how I do my reviews. I start at the highest ranking possible. So, right now, I am giving this Smashburger 5 stars. After having to wait for the cashier to make the milk shake for the guy in front of the guy waiting to place his order, we are down to 4 stars. I ordered a plain burger without cheese, an order of fries and a medium beverage. When I recieved my burger, I noticed it sticking to the bottom portion of the bun. So, I looked at the burger and noticed that it had cheese that was obviously scraped off. Add if that wasn't bad enough, because the cheese was on the bottom of my burger, I had to assume that this was an attempt to hide the fact that the cheese was just scraped off. So, down to 3 stars for the scraping off of the cheese and then 2 stars for what I perceived to be a dishonest act by deliberately hiding the fact that cheese was originally on this burger. So, I am officially at 2 stars, but then I involved the manager... I approached Tom, the manager and explained the cheese on the burger issue. Tom apologized to me for the mishap and showed the burger to the cook. "What's wrong with this burger?" He asked. The cook didn't know. Tom properly explained the situation and then said to the cook, "I want you to make a fresh burger and fresh fries please." ... back up to 3 stars. After a short wait, Tom brought the food to my table and once again apologized. The burger is now correct, 4 stars. Even though my experience didn't start out as a pleasant one, the manager probably handling the situation turned a bad start into a good finish. I want to note that Tom smiled during all of this and was sincere with his apology. I noticed other good practices such as constant hand washing by him as well. So, 4 stars for the Smashburger in Radnor. read more

I've eaten here quite a few times. I thought the burger was very good, but I didn't think it was the best I've ever had. We started going here often and then I changed it up and ordered the crispy chicken sandwich. I was pretty much done ordering burgers at that point. I could get a burger anywhere, but I can't get that crunchy, crispy, amazing, chicken sandwich. The breading and crunch is perfection in a basket. While eating with five co-workers yesterday, I took a bit of a verbal beating for eating chicken at a burger joint, but I stood by it. I might have persuaded more people to buy it, because they loved the look of it. read more
