Immediate fail. If you offer a dish and don't have all of the components, then you need to tell the person making the order. Then they can choose to order the dish lacking a key component or they can select something that can be prepared correctly. Sourdough with smoked salmon, tomatoes, cream cheese, red onion, and CAPERS is not the same dish without the salty briny capers. So, big fail. At almost $13 for a single slice of toast without the other items (and not enough smoked salmon to counteract the missing salty aspect) it's sad. On the upside, there were enough red onion chunks to have me breathing onions for several days. The specialty drink I ordered, which is a cold brew with an amaretto foam, was really good. It's a lot of ice and a medium sized drink, so you can gauge the value for the price. It wasn't cheap. I probably wouldn't do it again. But it did taste good. The environment is nice. Old train station, high ceilings, charming atmosphere. Old wood floors, old wood moldings, old ceiling. It does look like the windows have been replaced, but they kept the frames. The space has been upgraded while maintaining the charm. Kudos to the person who did it. Fun to see the trains speeding through the station. It's a great option for people waiting for trains or being picked up. One cold brew and one sourdough toast dish with a reasonable tip was over $21. read more

Imagine my surprise when I walked in expecting a station where I could purchase a regional rail ticket. Well, it has been several years since I've taken what used to be the R5 into the city, and Wayne was usually one of the stops I departed from. However, the girls working were very sweet and helpful when I told them how long it's been, and they proceeded to let me know I could buy a ticket on the ride into town. Oh as for the actual cafe, they had a lot of good looking treats (especially a chocolate chip muffin) but I did hold back and went with a smaller hot cocoa with oat milk. This was less than $5 (still getting adjusted to reasonable prices outside of my current city), and it was very good! Seating was throughout the narrow space, from tables and chairs to an old-school station bench which I took advantage of while I savored my beverage. There was also a separate restroom for men and women. From the barren station it was, someone really took this space and gave it new life. I imagine it's packed during the early weekday commute, but when I visited, it was almost peaceful with just a handful of people. Looks as though they haven't been open for very long, so I wish them success and look forward to the next time I can come by again while in town (and waiting for what I still call the R5). read more

Kind, helpful staff in a cute space with such a nice ambiance next to the train tracks. I ordered the Gunsmoke which is turkey, Gouda, roasted red peppers, jalapeño and aioli. It sounded like a fun take on a sandwich. Originally I wanted to get the caprese panini, but a sandwich with no meat would make my spouse sad (we share two) so... here we are. I stopped in this evening at 8:28 pm, spent $15 only to be informed by the staff that they were closing early, and locked up at 8:38. The posted sign list the closing time as 9:30, and a man who asked about tea and gelato just after I made my purchase was turned down. I want to take a moment to shout out THANKS! to the young ladies working the cafe yesterday (2/3) around 3:40pm. I had ordered a turkey sandwich when my train was still 15mins away...she assured me there would be enough time for her to get it made for me...when the train showed up 5mins early the sandwich was not yet done so I needed to run to get the train! I was bummed I never got the sandwich AND I had paid $10 + $2 tip Not the end of the world. Then this morning I woke up to find that my Venmo had been credited back the amount I had paid! I've been here thrice in the last 2 days. The first 2 times I got an iced coffee with a friend and just got a gelato. This is a nice cute cafe in the Wayne. The iced coffees were refreshing. Just what the doctor ordered after a long 9 mile hike. The gelato was good as well, got the espresso mocha flavor. This place also has a cute indoor and outdoor seating area. And free parking as well. I'd recommend this place for someone wanting something unassuming. read more

Loved every bit of this place. Nice staff and such charm. Coffee and ice cream: what could be better? It's in an old train station so that's pretty cool. They have sweet snacks, gelato and hot or cold coffees. Restrooms were clean, ample seating inside and out, and prices were reasonable. A win in my book! read more

This is a great little cafe that sells lots of local goodies. I got iced tea and a panini and they were decently priced and delicious. I sat at a nice table with a view of the train tracks and did some work. I'll be back next time I'm out that way! read more

Inside is surprisingly larger than I thought based on previous pics. Actually super cute and you just walk out and are on the Wayne platform for septa. They even have a little clock telling you the train times and if they're late! I got my usual London fog but they had a surprising amount of options. Love coming here with the kids. We hop on the train, which is always fun for them, and the cafe is right in the Wayne SEPTA station. We typically grab gelatos or some light baked goods/sweets and watch the trains come and go. It's also just off the main drag, so you can walk around before catching the train home. The staff is also friendly to the kids and the location is quaint and makes great use of the old station building. read more

Oh, did I mention the extraordinary selection of gelato flavors! The best for last, the paneni and ciabatta sandwiches, freshly made by the absolutely friendliest group of baristas on the Main Line. Ambiance -Also, this delightful place makes its home in the Regional Rail Paoli/Thorndale, inbound to center city and outbound to Malvern and or Thorndale train station. The Septa ticket office is enclosed with one of the friendliest ticket and information gentleman, whose name is Aaron. The charm of the station with two leather Wing chairs, if you are lucky enough to grab and get a seat upon entering, you get to observe the customers entering and leaving, with the sound of the tinkling of the bell. I have met several new acquaintances at the station and one of my favorite meeting places in beautiful downtown Wayne. read more

Great service on Easter morning. We went there after church to relax before everyone split up to travel. They make a true Cortado and my son thought it was delicious. I had the butter cookie latte which had the right amount of sweetness. You can get the chai latte sweetened or unsweetened which is perfect for those who want to customize. read more

Rarely have I done reviews on coffee cafes. However, the Mad Anthony Wayne Cafe inspired me to write a review. Originally this late 1800s train station would transport passengers across the main line. Now, it has been converted into the cafe by three local Radnor entrepreneurs. You can read more about this in David Bjorkgren's article in Delco Today, and learn the history of the rail road through the Radnor historical society website. This cafe stands out to me, since I'm fascinated with my local history. The interior still has a 1900s setting, and has seating for patrons to enjoy ice cream scoops or coffee. I recommend the americano with espresso shot. They also have homemade pastry's and custom pop tarts! My favorite aspect to this spot is the exterior dining area. You can eat sandwiches or enjoy a drink directly next to the active train line! Step back in time next time you're in Wayne, when you stop in to the Mad Anthony Wayne Cafe! read more

I visited this cafe last week and asked why there were no prices on the publicly displayed menu. The staff said it was because the prices change frequently/daily due to inflation. How odd since other cafes and restaurants manage to be transparent about pricing to customers. My impression is that this is a very poorly managed business and I will not frequent it myself or recommend it to friends. There are other more honest and transparent businesses in Wayne. read more

Very delicious gelato and nice atmosphere right in the train station, would definitely recommend coming for that. However, I had a disappointing experience recently where one (high-school age) worker was running the breakfast rush, which seemed like a less than optimal choice by management. The breakfast panini was decent but overpriced, and the espresso drinks we got were way too sweet and watery, not worth the price whatsoever. read more
