    Delicious dessert & amazing coffee!

Don't miss out! This is a must bakery to visit when in town. Excellent food, excellent selection and terrific staff.

Fruit tart- 9" perfect for any birthday or party

We love elegance! And here's why: -fresh soups every day made from scratch and you can't go wrong regardless of day -fresh salads of all kinds including several types of spinach salad, chicken salad, and many more -the fruit tart- see my picture. I don't need to say any more!!! -We will always use elegance for birthday cakes. Get something that isn't the traditional mound of icing from the grocery store. If you need something, call ahead and see if there's anything in the case that will work. They will put your name on it and reserve it for you! (If you can't plan ahead like me) Lunch can be a bit busy. Try to come out of the lunch rush. They do the best they can but sometimes you might not be able to wait. It wouldn't be busy if it weren't good!

This little bakery in the Paoli Shopping Center was the perfect place to meet a dear friend for a little belated birthday lunch. There was a yummy looking tomato and cheese quiche on the counter and about a dozen or so tempting salads to choose from - greek, pasta, bowtie, chicken, fruit - they all looked fresh and wonderful and you can get them to go or eat there. We shared a chicken curry wrap and an order of pasta salad. The chicken curry was delicious - tender chunks of white meat chicken in a creamy slightly sweet and nicely spicy curry dressing and the wrap and tomato were nice and fresh too - the pasta salad was tasty with crisp broccoli, cauliflower, peppers and sliced olives (canned, didn't actually love them). We couldn't pass on dessert of course and tried a miniature pecan tart and a chocolate mousse cake. The tart was scrumptious - a buttery tender/crisp crust with yummy pecan filling that was just the right amount of sweetness. The chocolate cake was good too - again not overly sweet and very chocolaty. In addition to the lovely cakes and desserts there is a nice selection of fresh breads and rolls - french, sourdough, challah etc. There are muffins, various croissants, scones, cookies and brioche and sticky buns. They have a variety of iced teas and high end chips and there was regular, bold and cinnamon coffee on offer the day we went and it was decent. The staff was very nice and they divided our order onto two plates for us which was thoughtful. Now that I have found it I can see running in here for a morning coffee and pastry or lunch for a take away salad or soup and muffin - I'll definitely be back! *Here's a little next day postscript - I got two croissants to go so we could have them for breakfast today and while they were ok in a buttery roll kind of way they are definitely not made in a million layer, flaky traditional french croissant way.

    Delicious!

My grandmother goes to this bakery every day and brings me when I visit. Their Waldorf salad is great, the ingredients are substantial pieces (chicken, apple, grapes) and not minuscule like most places. I always get some to take home with me. The baked goods are always great and the staff is extremely friendly, but that may be because they know my grandmother personally and they do take extra special care with us when we visit. I think the prices are fair for the area, I saw some other people complained about $5 for two baked goods which seems perfectly normal to me for quality food. Jackie is a doll, she always serves my grandmother personally and brings her food out because she has some difficulty getting around. I just wish it were closer to where I lived so I could visit more often!

I was the only individual that wasn't recognized as a regular yet the cozy charm was still imbued amongst the service I received and I was still greeted enthusiastically. ENVIRONMENT Cute and cozy are the first words that come to mind when walking into the breakfast nook. The environment can best be described as the dining room of a cottage. There was ample seating and a sense of familiarity that instantly makes you feel at home. FOOD Bomb coffee!!!! I have to start there. While I was waiting for my food I heard several quips amongst the regulars about the quality of the coffee and I decided to take the dive myself. I was NOT disappointed. The other standouts were the turkey sausage and THE PANCAKES. There's no shortage of breakfast spots along Mainline both commercial and locally owned. Julie Anne's stands out for the warm environment and well-made comfort food. Happy eats!

I freely admit that I was skeptical at first... But after several satisfying dinners - usually as a…read moreprelude to an evening at nearby People's Light - Fork & Bottle has not only captured my attention, it has also continued to impress. The setting, as you would undoubtedly surmise, is typically hotel-esque in nature. That being said, however, the room still manages to generate a certain generic charm. And I would also hasten to add that the service - even with our various parties of 20 or more - has been excellent in every respect. But on to the food... The dinner menu isn't quite what you'd expect. Take the starters, for instance. The usual suspects - Cesare Salad, Shrimp Cocktail, French Onion Soup, Buffalo Chicken Wings, Cheesesteak Egg Rolls - as you note, are present and accounted for. However, there are also a number of innovative diversions - such as Soft Bavarian Pretzel Sticks with Delco Lager cheese sauce, Pepperoni Bolognese Flatbread spruced up with crème fraiche, ricotta, Fontina & Parmigiano cheeses, and the Ten Million Dollar Dip that features Maine lobster, sour cream, bacon, cheddar, almond, scallions, and Ritz crackers - that manage to grab your attention. Moving on, diners may choose from either the Entrées category or take a more casual route with Sandwiches & Pub Fare. The former, which lists a number of all-too-familiar ingestibles, still manages to tempt our taste buds by teaming them up with some rather intriguing sidekicks. A not-terribly-exciting Pan Roasted Chicken, for example, is prepared agrodolce, with an alluring sour-sweet demi-glace... Chilean Sea Bass is cooked up teriyaki style... Canadian Salmon is adorned with a sweet & spicy glaze and companioned by mango & yogurt... Sautéed Lamb Sirloin is enhanced with a rich & savory Madeira sauce... and a 10oz Strip Steak basks in an addictive shallot & port wine reduction. Other main course possibilities include Angus Filet au Poivre with cognac cream, Char Grilled Pork Flat Iron marinated with garlic & oregano, Lobster Fra Diavolo, Crab Stuffed Shrimp, and Broiled Scallop & Lobster Gratin. On the other hand, should you decide to take the Sandwiches & Pub Fare route, have no fear, you will certainly not be disappointed. During previous visits, I sampled the Garganelli Pasta Bolognese and the Chicken Cobb Salad. Both were excellent. The former is comprised of buttered garganelli (egg-based pasta from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy), angus beef Bolognese, olive oil, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. The latter combines mixed lettuces, hard-boiled egg, tomato, blue cheese, bacon, and avocado sprinkled with a zesty lemon vinaigrette. Most recently, my dining companion made straight for the Crab Cake Sandwich, to which she gave an enthusiastic "thumps up." I, on the other hand, couldn't resist the considerable charms of the Chicken Cutlet & Ranch BLT, a luscious combo on toasted brioche immersed in an incredibly addictive herb ranch dressing. I should add that the delicious hand-cut French fries, which accompanied both sandwiches, were a considerable drawing card as well. The dessert menu runs the gamut... from such familiar sweet endings as Crème Brûlée and Warm Chocolate Lava Cake to Mango Lime Cheesecake with raspberry sauce, Warm Sticky Toffee Pudding garnished with vanilla ice cream, and Frozen Mississippi Mud Pie. The restaurant also offers Bassetts Ice Cream & Sorbet, should you be so inclined. For my money, however, nothing quite surpasses The Desmond's Warm Bread Pudding. Bathed in a sweet vanilla sauce, this is one outrageously rich, thoroughly delightful denouement that more than lives up to its considerable reputation. Simply not to be missed.

The food is not bad but at times it's uninteresting and the lackluster menu translates into a lack of taste. Often shortcuts are taken to save money but it does a disservice to the item and its customers. For example when you order chicken noodle soup you expect 'some' chicken but not here. After ordering it one day I went to my desk, I stirred and stirred looking for even the smallest piece of chicken. I went back to 'Dish' to be informed it's Chicken inspired soup made from homemade chicken stock. Huh???!! Additionally a cup of coffee and a bagel will set you back $4. I find this pricey since the bagel are purchased at a store. The Dish however does make EXCELLENT coffee, a very good grilled cheese sandwich and french fries (sometimes they go between shoestring and steak fries).

I typically only go now when I didn't prepare something the night before, or didn't have time to stop at Wegmans or another on the way in. If they were friendly it would help a little, but they aren't. The worst is the big guy who runs the register. You can tell he hides a very angry personality behind poorly shaded humor. And when you're in line behind a woman you have to wait while he looks them over and gives the full "Hi beautiful" "Hey darling" before turning off the charm. Unless you're in a pinch I'd recommend bringing your lunch. And may be healthier.

I really wanted the Taro Cake but whimped out when considering the taste of who I'd be sharing it with, but did get to try it. It taste, both in profile & texture, like a sweet potato. Purchased a Vanilla Strawberry Fresh Cream Cake. It was light in texture, not terribly different from Angel Food Cake, but absent of other flavors. Less sweet cakes often have overtones of almond or citrus that shine through, but this tasted like a vanilla cake minus the sugar. When I sliced into it I was hoping for more of a strawberry puree inside, but it appeared to be just sliced strawberries & a whole lot of unsweetened whipped cream. A little 1 dimensional for me. It was packaged beautifully w/ a lady finger & birthday candle. The gentleman working the counter was super helpful & I look forward to trying the Matcha & other flavors in the future. This one was a miss for me. While I barely have a sweet tooth, I need a little more going on than what was presented. That's a preference, not a criticism.
