We play cards tonight with friends and wife was working late so we decided on pizza. We ordered a large half cheese half pepperoni and a large fry. Wife picked up on way home and everything was piping hot. The pizza was delicious with just the right amount of cheese and pepperoni. The fries were hot and chrispy. i was up in Broomall today and decided to try this place for the 1st time since it had good reviews. Total mediocrity! Pizza just fair...not dreadful but not very good either. Ordered chicken wings too. So dry and i actually think these were frozen wings (not fresh). Ordered 2 containers of blue cheese with it and they didn't even include one container. i spoke with someone over the phone on this order too. I haven't tried the italian hoagie yet but I know what to expect. Some places are "one and done". Alfredo's Pizza goes right into that category. Great Italian deli junk food. I ordered the Italian Sausage Parm and 10 mild wings. The hoagie was quite big and packed to the gills with sausage and onions (I opted out of the peppers). The bread was soft and chewy. Unfortunately they chose to cover the sausages with sharp provolone cheese, which has a repugnant hydrochloric acid taste that really detracted from the flavor profile of the hoagie. The sausage had nice flavor, but they lacked enough fat and thus were a bit dry. The wings were big and a bit fatty, not crispy. But they were well executed and the buffalo sauce was just acidic enough. read more

I ordered take out today (a Philly Cheese Steak and a Chicken Cheese Steak) and the food was not only prepared promptly, but it was also delicious!! I had arrived a bit early for my take out so I had to wait a little, but the staff was so kind!!! The man on the phone I spoke to was very sweet as well as the cashier when I got there. We had a friendly conversation and they even gave me a slice of pizza to go for free!! This place is definitely very homey and way better than any of the pizza places around here. My wife and I came back to visit the Philadelphia area after having lived out of state for many years and were in desperate need of a an authentic Italian Philadelphia Pizza. We were not disappointed! Alfredo personally prepared for us a very special margarita pizza which in and of itself made the trip back to Pennsylvania worth it. Additionally he and the entire staff were totally friendly. The inside seating is limited but cozy - a great place to come in out of the cold! We saw the high reviews for this place on Yelp and decided to check it out. We've now tried the stromboli and cheesesteaks. The stromboli is 4 stars, but the cheesesteaks are 3-star tasting for us. We leaned toward 4 overall due to the friendly service. The cheesesteaks needed salt, but as I've mentioned in other cheesesteak reviews, this lack of salt happens, and I get it when they want to let you season it yourself since tastes can vary. That aside, the overall taste was bland. The meat and cheese didn't stand out in any way, and the roll was not as fresh tasting as other places (like Thunderbird, right down the street). I don't think Alfredo's is trying as hard at cheesesteaks as they are at other things, so this is probably not a big surprise or insult to them. They seem to really stand out with pizza instead. So pizza-wise, we did like the stromboli. We had the Italian stromboli and it was very good. There was a nice proportion of ingredients, and the crust was done just as we like it. Not burnt or too thin, like the trendy places do these days. Another reviewer mentioned that quality is not as great on Friday/Sat, so we did go to Alfredo's on another week night. All in all a good choice for stromboli/pizza cravings. read more
