Hands down one of the best sandwich places in Delco! Must try one of the cutlet sandwiches that are served warm or make your own. Bread is phenomenal, seeded and non seeded rolls available. Will not be disappointed!

Customer service is top notch, but the sandwiches are about as mediocre as something from wawa.

I had A Cut Above Italian hoagie and it was delicious. I especially like the roll and the quality of the ingredients.

Best sandwiches in the tri-state area, perhaps the best hoagies in the country! I don't know how they do it.

This very morning he stepped into Van Horn's, secured two hoagies "to travel," boarded the flight from Philadelphia, and upon landing handed one to his waiting son as fare for the ride home. Even after crossing the country by air, the sandwich remained a perfect echo of home. Van Horn's plays no favorites. It feeds with equal care the souls who never left, the faithful and the wanderers who departed yet return whenever the heart grows heavy. Whether one stayed rooted in Media or lived the same boyhood as our traveler with daily walks to Rose Tree Elementary, counter duty at Old Chester Steaks, the proud opening of Joycelyn's, and countless 1 dollar meals sustained by Tiny T's Just sayin....Van Horn's delivers the genuine article. No compromises. Only home. Unwrap after the long journey, eyeball a long Italian roll soft and firm enough to hold its treasures across 3000 miles. Sharp provolone meets paper-thin stacks of genoa, capicola and ham piled high in the old-fashioned way. Oil and vinegar mingle with the shredded lettuce, the tomatoes, the onions all offer their crisp bite. Not a trace of sogginess. One bite and the traveler is transported straight back to the corner where he belongs. This correspondent has sampled every worthy hoagie from Delaware, to Chester, to the Main Line, and yep even South Street. Van Horn's does more than serve sandwiches. It restores a man to the place he never truly left. For those who stayed and those who keep coming home, this establishment is, quite simply, Home. 19063 whether you never strayed or you are only now returning make the stop.

I ordered the Satchmo, a buffalo chicken, Italian hoagie, ham hoagie, 4 chicken tenders and fries which came to a grand total of $85. Phew. This was my first time here, but I've heard the food and cheese steaks were great so I was ok with things at this point. I placed my order for pickup and was told it would be 20 minutes. I came in around the 20ish minute mark and waited for 25 more minutes. There was only 1 other person waiting with me. I did see 3-4 other people come in pickup and leave while I waited, but it wasn't busy by standards. While waiting is when I when I observed how unorganized and dis shoveled the staff were. The lady upfront was kind, attentive, and seemed to be running the show putting orders together. But, when she asked for help she didn't get any. She asked another staff member to help bag a specific sandwich for an order, several times, and it went in the guys ear and right out the other. I could also hear them scrambling in the back working on my order, and complaining about how many Italian hoagie orders came in right at the same time. Maybe they were behind, maybe they accidentally let mine go with a different order? This is all speculation but they were definitely overwhelmed and it shouldn't have taken that long for my order. The cheese steaks were good, and the Italian hoagie was very hearty! They do not skimp on meat, but the hoagie bread was so hard most of it was thrown away. I don't care for shredded gums. Overall, not a good first time experience. Minus a star for the price, minus a star for the delayed pickup time, and minus 1/2 for the rock hard Italian hoagie bread. The steaks were good but everything else outweighed the food quality.

Decor is basic, no thrills but cozy and homey. They are open for breakfast lunch and dinner, I've had everything but the dinner. Breakfast foods are good diner quality. My eggs are always a perfect over easy and my toast nicely toasted. I've had the cheesesteak for lunch, it's your average pizza place cheesesteak and does the job if that's what you are looking for. Oddly have not had the pizza but I'll have to try that one of these days. Service is friendly and efficient, but it's rarely crowded when we are there so I'd expect that. The crowd when I've been there seems to be the same regulars. Retired folks looking for something good to eat, hot coffee, and time to chat with friends without being rushed.

We typically manage 1 to 4 events a year that require boxed lunches, often up to 400 per day over a week to a week and a half. In the past, menus tended to feel repetitive, and our staff usually get uninterest throughout the week. L&G was a completely different story. In fact, a team member reached out to me personally to say these were the best lunches they've ever had while working with our company. The food was outstanding. The salads were especially impressive, the Giovanni Salad with fresh strawberries, cucumbers, and goat cheese, delicious! The packaging was also excellent, with everything carefully secured and even extra items included. Jose was an absolute pleasure to work with. She went above and beyond, from helping us select menu items for each day to ensure all dietary restrictions were properly handled and separated. She and her team were professional, communicative, and truly a joy to work with. We cannot recommend them enough!

They started TooGoodToGo and my intuition told me this would be an enjoyable pickup. Pasta was fine and not too oily. Chicken Parmesan had good sauce and seasoning. The staff asked me if I wanted anything else and I said no. I was so overwhelmed with outside life stuff but maybe next time I come, I can try a sandwich or something prepared like that too. Decent number of parking spaces. A catering? Room and another room for selling prepared food and specialty food.
