This farm-to-table cafe is so good, and such a local place. It has a lot of options, combined with sandwiches, pizza and soups along with appetizers. The pizza we ordered was so delicious, very light. The woman greeted us unpon our arrival and had a great vibe. It is cozy with a couch seating and also a roof deck eating space. Worst experience ever. You can only order certain items on their website which will take your payment, hit your account TWICE (which according to them should disappear in 2 days), and then, when your 30 minute delivery doesn't show up for an hour, you call them and they inform you that there is a known issue with their website and they never got your order! Now, you have a hungry family and most restaurants have shut down for the night. This is the SECOND time we have experienced terrible customer service. We tried to give them a second chance since they just rebranded and we figured the first mess was due to growing pains, but alas, it seems to be their M.O. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. I have been here before and the gluten free pizza was very good. However, this time I was extremely underwhelmed. We waited 30-40 minutes and the GF pizza was burnt (see picture below). I didn't bother asking for another because I did not want to wait another 40 minutes. Considering this place is on the pricier side, I am disappointed. read more

Fresh, healthy ingredients and tasty. They have the best salads, sandwiches, and pizzas here in the area. They also are very conscious of gluten-free. The service here is always courteous and there are typically always room for eating in as most people tend to take out from here. They have a nice patio and lots of room indoors for Dine in purposes. I took my friend here for her birthday lunch on an early January weekday. There wasn't too much of a crowd (I imagine it'll be busier once WCU students are back from their winter vacation) so we were able to order food and find a table quickly. It's a very cozy, industrial venue and appears to have rooftop seating, though it was closed. My friend enjoyed her pear-fection salad, and shared some with me. Just keep it mind it has nuts, so if you're allergic, you'll want to order something else. I had the grilled cheese and soup combo -- melty and crispy the way I like it! Placed a large carry out order as soon as they opened and they not only accommodate the large last minute order but was extremely friendly with the whole process! Jan was amazing at helping me pick out items for lunch and everything was perfectly packed when I arrived - the staff even helped me carry all the food to my car. Visited The Tomato Shack for the first--and LAST--time earlier this month. Terrible in every imaginable way. It took 30 (!!) minutes for them to prepare two sandwiches! We were standing there watching the guy make the sandwiches, and it was like he was moving in slow motion! I think most people could prepare at least 10 sandwiches in that time! The place wasn't busy, either, which apparently gave the other employees (and the woman I presume was the manager) to just stand around, not doing anything! One guy waited almost as long we did for his food, and he'd called in his sandwich order. When we finally got our sandwiches, they were lousy. Astonishing that Tomato Shack can stay in business, considering how poorly run it is! Was attracted to this place for its claims of "healthy" food, but the service is just awful, and the food is very lackluster. read more

Couch Tomato is one of my go-to places for lunch! Everything is always so fresh and good. I really enjoy their Holy Chipotle Salad, Tomato Soup, and all of their pizzas. This is going to be a long post but hear me out.. this place is the ultimate dream for a very laid back event with attentive staff, and amazing food. I emailed 3 weeks prior to an event that I was looking to have here (yes I know late on my part) but Jan and her team at the Tomato Shack were able to provide me with everything I wanted and needed plus some!! They go above and beyond and have the best communication skills! Jan and I hit it off from just our conversation on the phone and I was so blessed to work with someone who is compassionate about their work as she is. My event was yesterday and I even ordered lunch from there today. Their food never disappoints. It's clean and fresh and the atmosphere is amazing. I will be returning for future events and food!! Stopped in for lunch on a fall day. I ordered the porty pig salad and it was very fresh and delicious! My roommate got the perky turkey and a side of the tomato bisque soup. The soup was delicious and a perfect size for a side. It was sunny so we decided to eat on the rooftop area. It was very cozy and cute in the inside and nice people watching/view from outside. It was quite busy when we went and they seemed to be a bit under staff. Seemed like one person was on salads, one of pizzas and the other managing the front orders. We waited about 20 minutes for our food and the staff was very nice about it and kept up with the busyness. Def will be going here again soon! read more

She was attentive to our needs and remembered all the detailed requests as well as recommended ways to keep the food fresher if we weren't using it immediately.
