No real welcome at the door. I walked to the counter and they promoted me to sit where I wanted. The order is submitted by you using a dry erase marker and checking off what you want; very simple. The broth was delicious. I asked them to make it spicy. Food came out quickly. I wouldn't order the same thing again, but I feel it has potential. Our table ordered the tonkotsu ramen, spicy miso ramen, takoyaki and some skewers. Ramen tasted great! Probably the best there is in media. Great flavor, toppings, and texture of the noodles. Today, I needed a quick meal and decided to stop in for a "to go" order. I ended up ordering beef fried rice - which I thought was delicious! The staff were very cordial with me as well. While I just sat there and waited for my order rather than grabbing a table, I will say that the ambiance definitely seemed like a vibe - as there was anime on a large TV screen! Service/waitstaff is always good and friendly . I order takeout as well as dine in. Lately however, our food has been lacking greatly. The steak in the soup has either been wayyy too thin or really overcooked. Almost inedible. Last time my daughter and I have had missing ingredients completely like forgotten bamboo, eggs AND fish cakes between the both of us. This was my first time having ramen and I enjoyed it. The inside was clean, maybe about 8 tables. There was really cool art on the walls of anime style characters, my son would love it here. This is probably my 10th time at this restaurant and sadly will be my last period. The food is really good. However, the service is not. I watched servers politely greet and seat an Indian family while they all just stared at me, walked past me, never greeted me all while they had three open tables to seat someone at. I am a black woman and I came to dine alone. When I called the manager, he gave me an excuse that it was busy. I am 1000% understanding of a business while they are busy and trying their best to accommodate their customers however, I think it's blatantly rude to scare me in my face and not say hello, not tell me that you need 10 minutes of time to get prepared to see me, they said nothing to me. And when I approach the server myself, she looked me up and down and said oh well, do you want to be seated now? All this while i spent a good 8 mins just standing in the middle of the restaurant by myself with all my winter gear on waiting for someone from the business to acknowledge I was there. Decided to try this as we were in the area. Stayed with gyoza and fried squid. Both were very good and authentic. Squid was served with ketchup and gyoza with soy sauce. Ordered two types of ramen, one order of seafood ramen and one shrimp ramen. The shrimp was large and fresh. Ramen noodles were good and the portions were large. We've been here before. We were pleased. HOWEVER, two weeks ago when our son chose Rayaki for his birthday dinner, we were blown away! Previously, we'd just had takeout -- boba and some appetizers. This time we sat in and tried some of the entrees. They were beautifully garnished and were delicious! The restaurant is clean, and the staff is courteous and helpful. In fact, one server approached us and asked if it was someone's birthday (We assumed she saw the wrapped gift on the seat next to me). When we said that it was, they put a recording of "Happy Birthday" on the sound system and then brought our son a slice of cake with a candle.
