Somehow stumbled upon Mochiatsu in Media when I got detoured on the way home from Philadelphia Int'l. Airport. (Was driving back to Chester County.) I love mochi and donuts but never had this combination before. These mochi donuts are so good! They're like bubble waffles but in a donut ring They're mildly sweet and spongey texture like mochi but delicately crisp fried on the outside. The different favors are the icings that are only on the top so you can appreciate the mochi experience, donut crispiness, and the sweet flavor of your chosen icing. It's all in the right proportions too. The bubble donut shape makes it easy to share. You just pull apart the donut bubbles. No mess and lots of yummy goodness. The person waiting on us was very friendly and patient with us trying to figure out which flavors to go with. Honestly, any flavor there is a good flavor. Some of them even come with an iced cookie stick similar to a Pocky. The place is a small donut shop with a few round deuce tables you can sit at. We just did a take out order and brought our donuts home. These flavors are delish: Oreo, Mango, Matcha, Raspberry, Taro, Salted Caramel. We bought 1/2 dozen for $16.99. A bit pricey but so worth it. I did see online that there was a "Nutella Croffle" which I absolutely love Nutella but this particular franchise location did not carry that flavor. **Be sure to check your franchises location for their own menu** Anyway, I decided on a Strawberry Croffle & 2 donuts. Figures, I can't remember which 2 flavor donuts I picked but, OMG now this was some dessert! So glad I didn't end up at Wawa for some ice cream like I normally would have. These were freshly made, flaky & soft. The Croffle was sticky & a little harder to pull apart than the donuts (it's supposed to be) but man these were such a good ending to my night. Mochi donuts are my absolute favorite types. They're nice and chewy and cloudy (does that make sense?). Went this past weekend and grabbed half a dozen with a few bubble teas. Now, if you ask for my favorite, I don't have just one. I love the black sesame, the ube, matcha, and taro. I recommend just grabbing a half dozen or full and taking bites of each one. My mother in law came the next day and had some for the first time and fell in love. She kept coming back to the box and grabbing more "balls". Bubble teas/fruit teas - I would totally skip. Got referred to this spot by my aunt who came for an elite event. So glad I came and tried it out! It's the cutest spot with seating. The service was good. I always say if the brown sugar or taro bubble tea is good, then everything will be! We got 6 mochi donuts to try different ones and they were delicious! My only issue I had with them were that some of them tasted the same to me. The coffee and Oreo donuts were the most distinct from the others. The ones that tasted in the same realm were the strawberry, funnel cake, raspberry and banana. Overall I was very pleased with everything! A nice spot to grab a sweet treat that won't leave you feeling heavy. Both the inside and outside of the store are simple. The window seating is cute. However, the pink and white chairs need to be cleaned/replaced (that's my only criticism). The food options are anything but simple. This was my first visit. The donuts are on display waiting to be picked and I waited maybe a minute for my fresh Croffle. After sitting down and biting into my Croffle I said out loud "Oh this is good"! It was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, with a hint of sweetness. The whipped topping was light, it added that creamy layer you need with a crunchy treat. And don't worry it looks like a lot of whipped cream but it's the perfect amount (and I'm not a big fan of whipped cream). I tried a piece of my son's mochi donut, it was good. The crisper shell hid a pillow soft inside. I wasn't very try fond of the glaze but it wasn't bad. I think the Croffle made me bias. I have seen at least 4 businesses come and go but that said, Mochiatsu is very cute and a fun place to take the kids for a snack. As many have said they served 3 things - Bubble Teas/Iced Teas, Korean style batter hotdogs/mozzarella cheese and of course, the Mochi Donuts which are the star of the show. The dogs are cooked to order to be prepared to wait for a few minutes. They come out HOT! Bring a variety (the 1/2 dozen is plenty for a small office) to the office and make some friends. We've ordered from this place many times before and loved the donuts (even though they are sometimes a bit oily). But the donuts we reveived this morning arrived cold and soggy. The only explanation I can think of is that they weren't fresh--we were served yesterday's donuts. We paid $3.50 apiece for gross day-old donuts! Pulling up to the establishment I remembered that it used to be a seafood boil restaurant. There was handicap parking available out front. The inside has plenty of sunlight pouring in, two tables, order counter and a single unisex bathroom for guests. I tried the black sesame, ube and tiramisu. The texture of the donut may have been softer if it was just out of the oven. The design on the donuts were pretty. #10 Hot Cheetos Rice Korean Hot Dog was better than the Ramen hot dog. Not sure why there was sugar sprinkled on the ramen hot dog. I liked the texture of #10 with the rice. My guava black iced tea was delicious. I finished it very fast because it was a hot day. My friend got the Boba milk tea with 30% sugar. The boba chewiness was just right. I would come back again to pick up donuts to send to my son's school, for a party or always nice to give to nurses if you go to a rehab or hospital. The location is a little desolate and not by downtown Media. I hope it does well! We are surely getting into this trend of mochi donuts very late in the game since they have been out in Japan for decades and in Cali for 5+ years now. The staff are helpful and friendly. My go to Korean corn dog is cheese with potatoes and spicy mayo on top and theirs did not disappoint. Without doubt the best (only?) mochi donuts in Delco! I've had them elsewhere and these are legit. The only others I've tried were in Honolulu (more legit I would say), where the ube ones were purple throughout -- made with purple ube-- and lighter in texture. I tried just 2: black sesame & ube. The former was fabulous & with solid sesame flavor and bits of black sesame seeds, but the latter was mostly all about the color. Prices are about $3/mochi-nut. Mochiatsu is really similar to mochinut, they both makes mochi donuts. I like the food, it has that mochi texture, but the cream on top is not well mixed enough. When I bite into the taro one, I can feel bits of sugar. But overall the food is good.
