Been multiple times. Hands down our favorite ramen in the city. It's easier to get a seat for one or two at the bar. But if you go with a bigger group you can always sign onto the waitlist and walk around Chinatown until your table is ready. I like the spicy ramen with shredded pork. But all are really good. Came in on a sunday evening and was pretty crowded but we were able to sit right at the bar which was fine. Service is super quick. Staff is nice and friendly! Pork bao: (5/5) These were super tasty. I really like how they add tomato and lettuce with a yummy spicy mayo sauce instead of just plain pork inside a bao bun. Pork was very slightly overcooked but it was still super good. Signature Terakawa Ramen: (4/5) I think I did myself a disservice by hyping up this place with the good reviews and expected to be blown away by this ramen. Don't get me wrong, it was good ramen, but it didn't blow me out of the water. It has a really nice creamy pork bone broth that is very comforting on a rainy day but I wish it had a little more flavor to it. Also, the pork selection I got was a little more fat and less meat than I prefer, but it was still a delicious meal. Spicy Ramen: (4/5) This ramen is packed with flavor. Was on a pre-op diet and what better than Ramen. Restaurant is a cute and cozy establishment. We were promptly seated but this place fills up quickly. My son says their Shami is some of the best this coming from someone who loves Asian Cuisine and has eaten around the world it comes as a high compliment. I wasn't a fan of the pork broth ramen but then I could only have broth so my rating may not be valid given I was not able to combine broth with all of the goodies. I absolutely love ramen so needless to say that I'm always trying to find a good bowl everywhere I go. Went to Philly to visit family and it so happened that our Airbnb was two blocks away from Chinatown. My daughter started to look for a ramen place immediately and we were shocked to discover how many places Philly has to choose from. It so happens that Terakawa was right down the street from us and is rated third on the top ten places. It's not a very large restaurant but it's very inviting. The staff greeted us at the door and we were seated immediately (yay!) We were lucky to get that table because every other seat was taken. We ordered edamame (we always do), the croquettes and their vegetarian ramen. While we waited (not long at all), we noticed all the condiments at the table you can use to spice up your meal. We were so happy with everything. The croquettes were fluffy soft on the inside and the perfect crunch on the outside. The ramen broth was very flavorful and it comes with lots of toppings. We enjoyed this establishment so much that we ended up having dinner there both nights we were in town. I ate here before an Aly & AJ concert at Franklin Music Hall a few weeks ago. I ordered takoyaki and Mayu Ramen (Natural Heritage Pork bone soup with mayu oil, topped with bamboo shoots, roast pork, chopped scallions, red ginger, kikurage mushroom, and a seasoned boiled egg). The takoyaki came out piping hot and it was delicious and generously filled. I didn't like the ramen broth because the mayu oil (dark roasted leek with crushed garlic oil) was very overpowering and I didn't get to tasty the rich pork-iness of the broth, which was probably my mistake for trying something new lol. The noodles were cooked well though with a great bounce and bite to it. The service was fine, but nothing amazing. I signed up for the wait-list on the tablet when I arrived and the host accidentally clicked a button to say my table was ready too early and then they just forgot about me lol. What was supposed to be a 10-minute wait was actually 20 mins, and it was only because I went up to the host and asked to be seated because they forgot about me and I wasn't even on the wait list anymore. There are plenty of other ramen restaurants in the area, so I think I'd rather give a different place a try next time I'm in Philly and craving ramen. read more

This broth was a little less flavorful than the miso (which has sesame already in it) but still decent. The noodles were excellent. The croquette was also tasty. Terakawa is a great Ramen spot. The bowls are typically priced between 14 and $18 depending on what you get and what add-ins you include. I got their signature Ramen which is a tonkatsu pork broth. It's a very rich and flavorful broth. Terakawa is also very customizable which I loved. You can specify the type of noodle, the consistency from soft to extra firm, and the salt level of the broth. I highly recommend the Signature Ramen with wavy noodles that are extra firm and regular salt level. It's a pretty small space but the seating is arranged well so you're not really bumping into people. They do require that your entire party is present before you're seated, so keep that in mind. They also do take credit cards which is a plus in Chinatown. Highly recommend this place. Definitely one of my favorites. read more

For ramen, I had the vegetarian miso ramen and my partner had the tan tan ramen. Both were fantastic but if I had to choose, I'd go with the Tan Tan Ramen next time. However, my experience on 02/21/26 was tainted by the extremely unprofessional and inappropriate behavior of one of your chefs, and it needs to be addressed. Although I'm sharing this a few days after my visit, I felt it was necessary to speak up rather than overlook behavior that made us uncomfortable. More specifically, I'm referring to the two main chefs positioned on the left side of the bar area, and more directly, the chef standing all the way to the far left who was working at the time. My payment was made at 10:07 PM, so if management reviews transaction logs or security footage, it should be easy to identify where we were seated and the individual involved. Throughout our time there, this chef repeatedly stared at my girlfriend in a way that was clearly uncomfortable and inappropriate. This was not a brief glance--it was persistent, noticeable, and unsettling. He repeatedly looked away only to look back again, continuing even while I was eating and after I briefly stepped away. We chose not to address it publicly at the time to avoid creating a scene, but that does not make the behavior acceptable. My girlfriend should be able to enjoy a meal without feeling watched or objectified by someone who is supposed to be working in a professional capacity. I strongly encourage management to review the security footage from that evening and address this behavior appropriately. Based on how comfortable this individual appeared behaving this way in plain view, it's difficult to believe this was an isolated incident. The quality of your food and your overall reputation deserve better than this. Guests should feel welcome and safe, not uncomfortable or disrespected. read more

The wait for us on a busy night was around 45 minutes, but if it's nice weather out there's plenty of time to stroll around Chinatown. I had forgotten to ask for utensils when I was ordering on the app, so when I asked for utensils, they told me that there is a charge and they cannot give it to me since I didn't order it. Not only do they have Yelp Waitlist which helps when it comes to their rather long wait times (because it's that good), but the ambiance and service seals the deal.
