Was supper hungry after the Philadelphia Eagles parade. I got a table for 3 and chose this place specifically because I knew it wouldn't be over run by hungry college kids! It's a small spot on south street and when you walk in you immediately feel welcomed! Walls are dark navy blue with cute positive affirmations a long the tables against the walls to your right. It was dim and ambiance was Valentine appropriate! Food: pan fried pork gyoza immaculate! With a cute heart shape carrot. They also have this ginger, garlic oil dipping sauce for the gyoza but she informed me it's for everything! I used this to my advantage with my edamame. Yummy! My Ramen was so so so good! I got tan tan noodles spicy organic ground beef, bamboo shoots scallions bean sprouts. Amazing pork bone broth. I couldn't get enough of this food and how fast and well prepared it was. If you're on South street and hungry for some good Ramen I highly recommend. I didn't get a chance to grab a taco but I have high hopes for it being everything I tasted was so delicious

Ordered on DoorDash. One of few places with smoked eel and really enjoyed it. Also have tacos. Not too many different taco options but I'm sure people love their staples.

Miso Ramen - no veggies

My favorite ramen in Philly!! People are so nice service is amazing, and ofc the food is delicious.

Shrimp Tempura Taco
Thuy H.

The shrimp tacos we had were so delicious, that we ended up getting another order at the end. However, we really only ordered the 2nd order bc our ramen really lacked protein. The ramen that my husband and kids ordered has 2 extremely thin sliced of pork in it and mine had maybe a tbsp of the ground meat in it. It also really lacked different types of veggies that most ramen places provide (corn, bamboo, mushrooms, etc). Don't get me wrong, the broth itself was delicious though. I just really wish I got more than mostly noodles and bean sprouts. Service was really nice. She came often and made sure our waters were constantly filled.

Discovered Taco & Ramen last night for dinner with a friend and was pleasantly surprised by the fantastic Shrimp Tempura Tacos, delicious Japanese soda drinks and boba, and yummy ramen. I'm a shrimp tempura lover and will be back for the tacos! The environment of the restaurant itself is very cozy and cute inside! Great for a hangout or date. I was also pleasantly surprised by the holiday goodie bags they handed out for free--I've never encountered that type of customer appreciation and thoughtfulness. It had a cute Japanese keychain and dum dums inside. For me, 5 stars!

The perfect place to go when your group can't decide on a cuisine! Just like the name says, this restaurant has a wide selection of tacos AND ramen! They have a lot of vegetarian options as well, and the spring rolls are one of my favorite items. I did not get a picture since i ate them instantly.... The restaurant itself is cozy. It can only seat maybe 25 people, so don't come with a big group. But it's perfect for a date night or group of 4.

GF Sautéed Zucchini and Mushroom Tacos (3)

A clean, modern space off the calamity that can be South Street, Taco & Ramen offers authentic flavors with positivity (you'll see when you get here what I mean by positive uplift). Fun music and relaxed ambience for a Friday lunch. For those also sensitive to or allergic to gluten: While the menu currently doesn't state it, there are gluten free taco options here. You can get a triple taco meal with soft corn tortilla and sautéed (not fried) options like shrimp, zucchini and/or mushrooms with a gluten free sauce. The staff are very friendly, approachable and caring about your dining experience. They're still investigating the best version of a gluten free noodle for ramen that is healthy for digestion. The fact that they care shows the chef's integrity and pride in the food they serve. And the boba is spot on. They know what they're doing.

Taro Milk Tea

I absolutely enjoyed my food and inhaled it. I'm talking my face was in the bowl. Whoever the chef is needs they butt ate and whoever decorated and also needs they butt ate. That place was beautiful down to the bathroom.

Mayu ramen

We tried the mayu ramen and spicy kimchi ramen which were both quite good. The spicy kimchi ramen is not super spicy so there's no need to worry in terms of spice tolerance. I'm not the biggest fan of their egg - the yolk part seemed sort of solid and chunky at parts so maybe slightly overdone? Shrimp tempura taco was as expected. Service was quick.

We called ahead on Valentine's day a half hour before and were seated right when we arrived for 3 of us. It's a small dining area but I felt it was cozy and beautifully decorated. We were given menus and our orders taken right away. They have all different kinds of ramen but I expected more of a selection of tacos since its in the name. I ordered the pork gyoza and the traditional ramen. We all had hot ginger tea to drink since they do not serve alcohol. The tea is served in the cutest mugs! The gyoza came out with this sauce to dip we loved with garlic and ginger. My friend ordered edamame and dipped it in the sauce too. The ramen was huge and delicious! The waitress was very attentive. I would definitely come back when Im in the area for a warm comforting meal.

Nice setting for dinner

This place was SOOO cute. The stairs down to the bathroom were plastered with dog and cat cartoons. These people love tacos ramen dogs and cats. Who says these things shouldn't go together??? The food was very good. We both got ramen. Though admittedly I don't remember which is one, only that I added corn. My husband got the coffee boba with bubbles and coffee jellies and that was interesting. The waitress was super nice. I fully recommend this restaurant unless you have a mobility problem... Because the bathroom is downstairs and you WILL have to pee after boba and ramen. Maybe get the taco if you have to find other pee arrangements?

Randomly popped into Taco & Ramen because I heard they had some good eats. Great spot for a quick bite. Had a few shrimp tacos and eggrolls. Taco was really a highlight. Spicy Mayo brought everything together. Service was excellent. Had a good time chatting with servers. I'll have to drop back in for some ramen.

First off those working here are SUPER NICE!!!!! They gave my toddler a pack of chocolates with stickers before we left :) The food was awesome! First time trying ramen and I loved it... it's a cute cozy place on south street in Philly. I tried the Masu I think that's what it's called. Pork broth. It was good, even my toddler enjoyed it.

I am very upset with my last experience at this establishment, after going for close to 8 years…read morethrough name changes (and I'll assume ownership changed hands) for both at one point weekly sit down service for a few months to now pick-up. I ordered my usual ramen and two sushi rolls to split with my partner, and ordered through here on yelp through DoorDash. Because of a system issue, my food was ordered twice (after paying it said there was a system error and it couldn't be completed and my cart was still full and after it happened twice I figured something was really wrong.) I had a sense something was weird, and had my partner call ahead to assure there was only ONE order, and otherwise cancel the second immediately, which he did. When I got there there were 2 orders, and the restaurant smilingly said it was already made and wanted to give me both bags. They REFUSED to cancel an order or to talk to DoorDash directly. I insisted on calling DoorDash in the store to make sure I got a refund because I couldn't afford to pay double for my food and risk it (what would be $84 for one bowl of soup and two sushi rolls.) After 45 minutes on the phone, and now cold soup and warm sushi to bring home, I was assured I would get my money back in "a few days." It has now been two months and I have not received a refund. I have been going here for years, and very upset on this lack of oversight on the restaurants part. I think they mostly interact with college students that are passive and they can manipulate. The restaurant said it was my fault because I used the ordering service they provided through yelp like I should have known better not to use it (and again, I've ordered online here many times!) They made my favorite ramen, but the countless hours I have now spent on very expensive cold soup and warm sushi-- I will not return until this is rectified. Other comparable restaurants that make ramen in other areas of the city of the same size will send me a full refund for a drink just for sending me the wrong flavor! it's so loud in the restaurant to even have a conversation or be on the phone to communicate when the issue happened (again college scene and club music.)

literally best vegetarian / vegan sushi in the city…read more okay to start, if your friend/date/family member is vegetarian or vegan, take them here. you both will have options. inside is cozy. service is really thorough and like a well oiled machine. for the vegetarians: The lime sinko roll is a classic avocado cucumber roll with a pickled vegetable layer on top and a thin slice of lime. the roll itself is great, simple, and a classic. my sister really likes the pickled vegetable and lime on top. I however, just peel it off. it's good but I prefer without it. the veggie on fire is what you need: probably their best roll on the menu. it's a cucumber avocado roll with a spicy zucchini sauce on top and crispy fried onions. it's messy. it's spicy. it's delicious. the sauce is orange in color, has tiny slivers of zucchini in it. I was hesitant to try it at first, but it's my favorite roll now. the vegan tuna roll: it's marinated tomato in place of tuna. i've never had fish or tuna, but it definitely tastes a lot more fishy. I guess that's the marinade. texture is kinda slimy? mushy? I feel like this might be the roll for someone who liked the taste of fish but went vegan and wants a replica. Not for me, but well made nonetheless. Appetizers The veggie gyoza: the gyoza itself is green, doesn't taste different to a non green dough, but visually that might matter to some people. sauce they serve on the side is very good. comes with a lot, at least 6 I think. tastes good. I don't recall any mushrooms in it and if there is they are not noticeable as i'm not the biggest fan of mushrooms. The Spring rolls: new to the menu, no meat, interesting? they are more soft inside than expected. not a lot of veggies. tiny. cute little app to share and try. they come with two. no mushrooms. I typically prefer a more veggie heavy and crispy spring roll but i'd order them again! Samosa: currently off the menu I think, but in case they add it back, this was very good. i'd order this over the spring rolls. they were crispier and I think it came with three. Miso Soup: it's a fine little bowl of miso. I typically always order miso at every Japanese restaurant to start my meal. i'm not picky about miso, but I will say, it's not my favorite miso. I still order it every time, just not the absolute best i've had. It has small little tofu chunks and some green leafs which I find are in most misos but I have no idea what they are. small little bowl. perfect to order first. edamame: very good I always order in the beginning and I have a bad habit of also ordering another for dessert. the veggie bun: I don't like mushrooms, but if you do you will love this. my sister loves it. it's not often there is a vegetarian option for a bun, so i'd get it. the sauce on it is very good. comes with two. Karaage: This is chicken, but my dad gets it and it looks very good and crispy. if I ate meat i'd order this. avocado salad: okay so the ginger dressing is a little different than typical ginger dressing which I like. it's unique and very good. the amount of avocado is amazing! it has to be a whole avocado. always fresh. the green leafs are a little big, so this can get messy fast if you're on a date and trying to be demure. this is a must order for three people in my family. every time we go it's three orders clock work. I tried sharing with my sister and we determined we cannot share this. honestly bigger than I expected and more filling than I expected. has some cut up tomato's and cucumbers inside as well. mochi: must get. one order is one mochi cut in half. so two people could share one mochi order. i'm team chocolate, but I heard strawberry is good. I think I tried all of their flavors but honestly can't remember them. I'll update as I try more of the vegetarian/vegan rolls

From my seat I could see sushi being prepared and the daily workings and prep. The seating is deceiving as there are 2 seperate sections of the restaurant. The spring rolls were good but the crispy salmon skin roll was out of this world. I will come back just for that! Service was a bit slow even sitting at the bar and my water glass was never refilled even when asked but I'll chalk it up to a busy Friday. Will definitely be back!
