I got the 2 roll special and had the lancaster roll and the philadelphia roll, and both were delicious with amazing fluffy rice and good quality fish. I got some ice cream as well. I have been frequenting Bleu Sushi now for over ten years and ever since day one I have felt at home. The owner, Hendra making it so that every single time a guest walks through that door, that every bite is a magical one, and that every need is met above and beyond that one would expect. This is also true of the entire staff; even in his absence or when his other family is present running things, everything is smooth like butter and tasting like perfection. One thing that shines above many other places that simply serve sushi is the dedication Bleu Sushi has towards quality, culinary craftsmanship, and innovation. They have come up with and continue to produce some of the most wonderfully amazing and unique rolls that I have ever had. This is not just because they are placing all sorts of ingredients together, but because a ton of thought is put into flavor, texture, color, and overall plate presentation. Another fun feature of their signature rolls are that they use names taken from local streets and surrounding suburbs. One of my personal favorites is the Temple Roll, which is topped with torched white tuna. There is a whole range of rolls that have specific cuts finished with a hand torch before being brought to the table that add to the delicious overtones of umami, both of flavor, and of the soul. One other standout I have come to adore is a roll, I cannot remember the name, but is based around a center of fried oyster! This is not to say that the signature rolls are the only thing outstanding on the menu...they are more than capable of making top tier traditional rolls as well as sushi and sashimi, and boast a wide array of non-fish/seafood based appetizers and entrees as well, rounding out the menu. You can come here with a party consisting of all palates and be just fine; it's not just for sushi lovers, but those who embrace good food, good friends, and a good time. The interior is a beautiful deep sea blue with signature fish hand painted around the ceiling trim, and in the evening, the lights dim and candlelight is the preferred method of table illumination, making the setting very intimate. On days where the weather is great, the entire front of the restaurant can be opened to the street and street-side seating is available. Simply put, this IS a place to go. If you haven't been here and you live in Philly, make a trip down to 10th and Spruce. If you don't, make it an evening and go have dinner, or lunch, and then take a walk in nearby park or go do something at one of the many things to see or enjoy downtown. If you are visiting, it's a great place if you are in the mood for sushi, the prices are reasonable, and they offer delivery from basically every service known to humanity. I had the absolute best experience at Bleu Sushi on Sunday 9/21/25 From start to finish, everything felt fresh, thoughtful, and genuinely welcoming. Their sushi rolls are not only beautifully presented but also incredibly creative , each bite had a perfect immaculate balance of flavors and textures. I also tried a few appetizers and main dishes, and every plate felt authentic yet had a unique twist that set it apart from other sushi spots. My mouth was literally watering. It also happened to be my birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make it special. They surprised me with a complimentary dessert and even came over to sing. such a kind and personal touch that I'll never forget. The atmosphere was warm and friendly yet modern and stylish. The service was attentive but never rushed and the staff really were all amazing and so welcoming. Bleu Sushi clearly puts a lot of care into both their food and their guests' experience. So many vegetarian options at Bleu Sushi! It's no surprise this restaurant has such great reviews. I placed my order online (versus in store) due to the advertisement about it being cheaper. I received a receipt via e-mail and my order was ready in about 15 minutes. I ordered the Ohio Roll, which has inari and avocado and the Pennsylvania Roll, with sweet potato tempura. Both rolls were outstanding, especially the Ohio Roll! I've never had sushi with tofu in it and it was surprisingly delicious. The ingredients tasted fresh. The soy sauce container was wrapped in cling wrap to prevent spillage. I love that they thought about that being a possibility during travels. Would happily order it again. The downside? The small restaurant was fairly empty, so I gotta admit I was a little annoyed that they placed the next few diners who arrived right next to me. I'm sure they were thrilled that I could eavesdrop and listen in to all the center city drama these 20something city dwellers had with their boyfriends, apartment and jobs. We dined in on a last min reservation on a Thursday evening and had a really wonderful time. Their sushi is so good and is made so quickly, despite a million takeout orders whizzing by you. Don't sleep on the special roll combo that lets you pick 2 rolls and get a soup and salad (which costs less than 2 of the rolls by themselves). The staff was super attentive but not overbearing. For example, one waiter saw my mom plucking ice cubes out of her water to put in her wine, and he eagerly brought over a cup of ice. I opened the yellow tail first and noticed a very small black hair but I was like okay...gross but it was by the garnish and not the fish so I ate it because whatever, I can forgive one small hair I guess. Then I opened the soup and found another hair in that when I stirred it. So I fished that out and kept checking and wouldn't you know it....another hair. I came here with the college kid to treat her to a special night out. We both shared a few maki sushi. The tuna roll was very fresh and flavorful with surprisingly excellent quality of fish. The same for a salmon roll and 2 special rolls whose names I cannot remember. Service was excellent and the dining room was clean and cute. This is a very good place to take a date or celebrate a casual, special occasion. While somewhat expensive, portion sizes are reasonable and prices are competitive with other places in Philadelphia. My only complaint is the lack of street parking and no pay lots in the area; it took me nearly 30 minutes to find an open spot on a late Friday afternoon. The blue themed restaurant was beautiful and very intimate though it was rather noisy given the large crowd for a small place but would be a great date night restaurant during off hours. The food was really good and they offered a huge selection of both sushi and non sushi dishes. Menu choices were all online. We opted for some apps and rolls. Wait staff were attentive and we appreciated that they left a pitcher of ice cold water for the table. We took a Lyft to restaurant so cannot speak to parking though parking in Philly can be a challenge so you may want to consider walking or taking a ride share. It's always a pleasure eating at Blue Sushi. I've enjoyed everything that I've ordered here, but don't sleep on the Kimchee Fries. Those things just hit differently. This sushi place is quite the place! It's a BYOB small local gem right off of 10th street. We made a reservation and was seated immediately. The staff is super friendly and welcoming and we had the pleasure of meeting the owner or manager. He asked us if we had any questions and took his time to make sure that everything was good. We ordered a lot of different rolls, and the one that stood out to me the most was their JFK Boulevard Toro roll and Villanova roll. The sushi was extremely fresh and tasteful and the rice had the perfect amount of rice vinegar. The sushi came out relatively quick too, considering how busy they were for a friday night. They also gave us complimentary ice cream after our dinner! If you go to this sushi restaurant, please take the time to look over their menu. It's quite extensive, but that just means I have to go more than once to try everything out ;) they have a lot of cool drinks on their menu that's imported from Japan! The miso soup was nice and warm, and the kani salad was flavorful. The New York roll and Jefferson rolls were well-prepared, and I especially enjoyed the textural contrast between the crispy shrimp tempura and creamy sauces in the Jefferson roll. However, I think it's a fair assumption that water would have been provided. NOPE. You had to buy a bottle of water instead (they only had VOSS so not inexpensive). We did the 2 signature roll combo which started with miso soup. It came out in these cute bowls until I saw there were 6+ chips on the bowl (I could maybe argue one chip, but serving a customer something that they could have actually nicked themselves on is...confusing). The signature rolls - UArts and Main Street roll - were good, but nothing extra to write home about. They were as you would expect, if anything on the smaller side. We also got the Gyudon which was large and flavorful. Could have had more beef but overall good dish. For all the hype, it was not worth it. Maybe takeout is better? Had a wonderful experience at Bleu Sushi. They had a ton of veggie sushi options that all sounded delicious. I tried the Pennsylvania Roll and Ohio Roll and was happy I got them! While the rolls were on the smaller side, the flavor was great in them both. The PA roll came out very warm and the tempura inside was fresh and perfectly fried. The OH roll had a lot of avocado in it that was the perfect ripeness. We came with a group of six on a weeknight and were seated right away. The food for the table came out pretty quickly. Grab your chopsticks ! What a fun time at Bleu Sushi! The place appealed to us for their generous menu - there's sushi of course but also noodle dishes, various desserts, and even some other surprises! We had taken the drive over and it didn't take too long to find parking. We had made reservations for 8:30pm, so may have just lucked out with parking given our late dinner time. I would recommend plan to circle a little otherwise since the area can be tough with parking. Once inside, the attendants quickly walked us to our table. It's fairly narrow inside and dimly lit but seems manage just fine. There's a full sushi counter in the back for additional seating that provides a show as well. They had beer as their alcoholic option and there's also exotic bottled/canned drinks to choose from - we commend their yuzu drink! For food, we stuck to their sushi offerings which they have plenty of options for vegetarians. We chose their vegetarian platter that comes with 3 rolls, along with an avocado skin roll (my first time having something like this - delicious !) The food came out very quickly and it was delicious and plentiful portion wise! I really liked the avocado skin along with their sweet potato tempura roll. Our waiter was very diligent with taking down our order and making sure all our questions were answered. Of note we also ordered dessert - fried ice cream in their matcha flavor - we both thought it looked better on paper. The texture was chewy and the flavor profile was lost in all the batter.
