Flight was delayed getting into Philly last Thursday but this place was thankfully open and within walking distance from my Airbnb. It was close to closing time but was able to get an order in. The shop itself was small, but they had a few tables setup for dine-in customers which is all you really need. Honestly, the less tables the better. Food was excellent, and this will certainly be our go-to spot to order from when we're wanting authentic Mexican. read more

Ion my way to an event where I needed to bring food and stopped in here on a whim. When I got to the event and opened up the containers everyone around me commented on how good my food smelled. Trust me, it tasted even better! By far, some of the best shrimp tacos I have ever has. All of the ingredients were so fresh. I also got birria tacos, again, SO good! This is a short walk from me, I will definitely be back. The staff was friendly and welcoming. You can see the chef from the dining room, he also looked up and engaged. Nice people, charming place, great food! read more

Free, delicious chips and salsa, incredible service, deliciously spiced... I got the shrimp tacos and they were amazing. It's a good price for good food. Will be back!! read more

You MUST get the churros at Pancho's. Hot, crisp, not too sweet, cream-filled, with a delectable chocolate dipping sauce, they were the star of the meal. The fish burrito I got was solid, too, though personally I wish it were cheesier/saucier. The quality of the ingredients and the flavors were pretty good though. Came with fresh, thick tortilla chips and some green salsa and hot sauce. Service was decently friendly and fast. The place is kind of small with only like five tables, and not super decorated, but it gets the job done. Really solid Mexican spot, though with Fishtown prices. The churros are so worth it, though. Please take this as a sign to go try them immediately. read more

Great service and staff. I recommend the Burrito California, Flan, and Churro. Nice home like environment

Ordered delivery from here, and the food arrived quickly. Food arrived hot and fresh. Ordered tacos el pastor, beans, and rice. The beans could have used a little more garlic for me, but we're good. Rice was very flavorful. The el pastor was seasoned well and was juicy. Hot sauce was really good - a creeping heat. Would definitely try other items. read more

Love this place! Could've sworn I wrote a review before. Definitely eaten other things here but these were the only photos that I could find. Usually get the fajitas or some kind of tacos, both are delicious. Brunch here was unexpectedly good...the steak Pancho was my favorite. Meat potatoes and eggs - can't go wrong. Staff here is friendly and attentive and the inside is cozy with fun decor. Great neighborhood spot! read more

We had a delicious dinner at Pancho's Cafe. It has been on our list to try since moving to fishtown and it did not disappoint. Service was great and everyone was welcoming when we entered. The restaurant has a cute atmosphere full of bright colors and plants. The food though has to be some of the best mexican in the area. It was my first time trying a la gringa. It was delicious and tasted so fresh. I also got a tinga burrito which was enormous but full of flavor. We also had the shrimp tacos which were some of the best I've ever had. We certainly needed to go boxes after everything was said and done. All in all a great meal and a restaurant we will certainly be visiting again soon! (Also doing take out :) read more

Passed this hole in the wall restaurant so many times and finally tried it! Its location is close to the train station so it is a very convenient fast-casual/take out place. I tried the al pastor tacos especial and the chicken burrito. Out of the two, I liked the chicken burrito better. Large portions for a great price-- about $13 for each entrée. Will definitely return. read more

Stop what you're doing. Yes, you...stop! Pancho's Cafe is IT. It's your go to Mexican joint you've been waiting for. The family owned and operated business is the real deal. Great value too! What we snagged; -Enchiladas in Verde Sauce (Comes with ALL the fixings) -Steak Fajitas (Comes with rice, beans, guacamole, and tortilla) The meals were LARGE and in charge. We'll have left overs for the next day. Can't be a two for 1 meal! You gotta check this place out and make it your Mexican go to joint. No pictures. Was too hungry and it was so good to have to wait for its photo opt. read more

Homey restaurant in Fishtown with amazing Mexican food. At Pancho's, I got 3 Carne Asada Tacos along with an horchata. So surprised by the tacos, close to being the best in Philly. The tortillas had a lot of flavor, and the sauces/lime added a delicious tanginess/spiciness. The horchata was a bit strange too me, had a weird artificial sweetness to it that took away from the rice/cinnamon flavor. However, the serving size of the drinks was huge, put into a soup container. Definitely trying their other drinks. I'm pretty sure the cafe is family-run or very similar vibes. The service was extremely kind. Planning on trying their specials and burritos. read more

Just ordered al pastor burrito. A fatty mess of a burrito. Usually I'd just eat around it no big deal but it's like every single piece.

Please do not order online. They have missed my online order twice in the three times I've ordered. When I called support they told them that the order was ready for pick up. When I get there. It's not ready and they hadn't even started making it. read more

It was my first time trying this place. It's a hole in the wall place that's past ACME grocery store on West Girard. I'm surprised by all the good reviews. The chicken buritto was a good size for $10 but the chicken was very dry and not very flavorful. There wasn't enough rice. The cheese felt like a pack of Mexican blend cheese thrown into the buritto. I was disappointed and will not be back again. The search for good Mexican food in Fishtown continues. read more

I am a native Californian so maybe I'm spoiled with incredible Mexican food, all I can say is this didn't pass the test. I have came here a couple of times due to it being walking distance from my house on wfh days, and each time I eat here the same plate ranges in taste and isn't consistent. The flavor of the food is majorly lacking. I can understand the good reviews as there are seldom any good Mexican spots in Philly and this place is tolerable. I would return if prices were lower as I just paid $44 for two chicken fajita plates which is ABSURD. You can get the same plate in the hood in LA for $12 with 10x the flavor. They also have an 8% tax for credit cards so bring cash... I just found out. A positive is the customer service is nice as well as the vibe inside of the restaurant. Food needs to get better or prices need to come down for me to return. read more

We've been here a few times and it can be pretty good and also lacking at the same time. Once my rice was so over cooked I didn't want to eat it but my enchiladas were amazing with a wonderful sauce and perfectly cooked meat. Then another time my chicken tasted really cheap and rubbery but otherwise good and everything else was spot on. I want to like this place. I do like this place but they are going to need to be consistent to keep me coming back time and time again. read more

Top notch Al Pastor Burrito! A bit pricy but for the size, we'll worth it. Hot Sauce on the outside looks lovely but begs you to go with the fork and spoon method. Personally, I prefer burritos wrapped in wax paper/ foil so it's way easier to get to every last bite. Def recommend giving it a shot. Might try other items soon but the Al Pastor is def my go March 9th -Update- Al Pastor (pork and pineapple bits) looks to be off the menu. I went for steak this time around. read more

I must admit in the 7 years I've been living in Philly the Mexican food has disappointed me greatly. I'm from Texas so there that, we don't play about our Mexican food. However in the last year I've found some pretty good places and this is one. I ordered a shrimp burrito and guacamole on Uber eats and it was DELICIOUS, my friend got a quesadilla and it was also good. This is a no frills, doing it right Mexican spot. I'm totally here for it, I'm still dreaming about that burrito and the prices are great too. read more

My go-to Mexican restaurant in Fishtown! While the restaurant itself may not look like much, the food is amazing, especially for the price. Skip the tacos and get their green salsa enchiladas. It's very flavorful and filling with the perfect amount of sauce and cheese. Overall, a great delivery option and more authentic than most (usually white-owned) Mexican restaurants in Philadelphia. The portions are huge and delivery is very reliable. Skip Loco Pez and support this local business if you're looking for Mexican food! read more

Authentic Mexican food to fill your bellies and hearts. The place is cute and quaint and perfect for a grand Mexican breakfast! We had the huevos a la Mexicana and what a deal! 7/17/18 around 7:00 pm for dinner... Small, "no frills;" seating at the counter right where the cooking is done. Very casual and comfortable. Woman who prepared our food was very friendly and accommodating (should have gotten her name). Breakfast all day! Prices are exceedingly fair considering the portions and the quality ($10 for my three-egg huevos rancheros, $10 for my friend's substantial veggie burrito); food was tasty and satisfying, and did not take long to be served. So, based on this inaugural eating experience (to be enthusiastically proven by future visits)... The type of restaurant that serves a reliably decent meal, for a reasonable price; one could sit and have a quick meal (but could hang around and be comfortable) or order takeout and be on their way without much of a wait. read more

Coming from LA, most Philadelphia taco joints have left me wanting. But this place left me more than satisfied. Go for the classic, taco especiales. They're big sizes so you'll be filled with three. The meat is made fresh and the perfect balance of crispy outside and chewy center. But the best part is the sour cream. The sour cream is made in house and is like no sour cream I've ever had before. No after taste and unbelievably smooth. Ask for extra on the side. read more

Thank god a decent taco place has arrived in Philadelphia, and best of all it's in my neighborhood! The best taqueria is the one that keeps it simple but fresh. Pancho's hits the mark! It's rare to have a meal that's so intimate with the chefs, and I really enjoyed seeing them cook a few feet away and all the care that they put into making the food. I had a breakfast burrito which came with a side of home fries. Let me tell you, those home fries were great; I liked them more than the burrito. They also have an orange juicer and an espresso machine in case you wanted anything to drink. It's a great little business that's just getting started, and you can tell they really care about the service that they give to their customers. They had a bowl of candies on the counter and I really needed a cough drop so that was quite handy. Give them a chance! read more
