This is a cute little taco shop in Passyunk that's def worth a visit. I would definitely recommend ordering ahead online as it was quite busy and there is very limited seating. It seems to mainly function as a takeout spot although there is a bit more seating outside weather permitting. The staff were very helpful in explaining the menu and options to me. They have breakfast/lunch tacos, bowls, dessert, and even hand-crafted drinks. I tried the Nano's fav and Migas Maximus. They were both delicious and filled with fresh ingredients. They also make the flour and vegan tortillas in-house. I won't lie, I was skeptical of broccoli on my taco at first, but I'm glad I went for it as it blended seamlessly in the taste profile. The only other thing I'd have to say is that I think they may need to iron out some operational workflows. I didn't want to take away from their rating because the food was so good and it was obvious that the staff were all working very hard. Loved Taco Heart and will certainly come back. For the first trip we got the fajita shrimp taco.... The winner ... the short rib taco and the Corinne's favorite tacos and the queso. I think next time I come I will try all the fajitas tacos as the shrimp was just so well seasoned and amazing. The queso was good but for 15 bucks needed to be hotter and also would have needed way more people to eat it. We were visiting from out of town so was a pretty big waste for the serving size. I was at a communal dinner recently in the upstairs room at Wilder when one of my dining mates mentioned they were from Texas. They were chatting about Austin delicacies and the magic of the breakfast taco came up, and that the only place they truly felt like they could have a taste of home in Philly was at Taco Heart. I quickly added it to my bookmarks after the entire table started raving, and had my first taste of Taco Heart over the weekend! The raves are warranted, people. If you're like me and maybe a bit skeptical: "it's a breakfast taco...it simply cannot be that special" I am happy to report that it is the MOST special. A few pro tips to make your experience great: 1) Order ahead. They have a really easy ordering system inside, but it gets BUSY on weekends, so your best bet is to have your order waiting for you upon arrival. I will say, the staff here does and amazing job explaining menu items and what to expect, so the "in-person" experience is also worthwhile if you have the time. 2) Two tacos is 100% a full meal. 3) Don't skip any of the salsas! They are out at the table and all SO good - great heat and great flavor. 4) Flour tortilla is a MUST. I am sure the other options are great too, but the made in house tortillas is arguably what makes these tacos so special. Other than that, you can't go wrong with any taco on the menu. The Migas was my favorite. The tacos are perfectly proportioned, ideal hangover food, and reasonably priced. This is a can't-miss dining experience and really the only place doing it at this caliber. The migas Maximus tasted very comforting. Tried Taco Heart for the first time this morning - it's awesome! An employee greeted us and asked if we'd been there before and since we hadn't, he explained the 3 types of tortillas and the vegetarian options which I always appreciate. I got 2 tacos - potato, egg and cheese on a corn tortilla and bean and cheese on a vegan flour tortilla, both were So delicious! In store they have 4 types of salsa- I tried the medium and spicy and both added great heat and flavor.
