I enjoyed my experience here overall. I was looking for fajitas on the menu, but they have different name! Comes served for 2 people. They were tasty. The vibe has a funky, retro kind of feel to it. Service was efficient, although I recall it not being too friendly on this particular day. I would return when in the area.

El Vez never misses! Got the carnitas tacos and they are always a favorite of mine! Such great flavor and tender. Also got the De La Hoya guac and could not stop eating it - it has a great garlic flavor! The guava mojito is also one of my favorites.

Upscale Mexican restaurant in the heart of downtown Philly. I was in town visiting and our host for the weekend brought us here. We couldn't get a reservation so our group decided to go and wait for a table. I'm so glad we did. El Vez is a gorgeous and very large space and was filled to capacity on this beautiful Saturday evening in August. There is some outdoor seating too. We had a few cocktails at the bar while waiting. Once seated in a plush corner booth with a view of the whole place we did a guacamole trio (El Vez, De La Hoya, Tito Santana). They were all really good. A little full from earlier in the day and our chips and guac, most of us got salads. The service was good and the prices reasonable. I could definitely eat here again as this El Vez still stand out in my mind as I write this review months later!

El Vez is a Philly staple for me. A massive space with a fun and bright atmosphere. Their margaritas are incredible with so many different options to choose from. They have a large food menu with a variety of shareable appetizers and classic Mexican entrees. The staff is always super friendly and helpful with navigating the menu or answering any questions. Don't forget to stop by the Photo Booth they have right in the main dining room. Overall, El Vez has never failed me and is my favorite place to bring out-of-towners

The food was okay - the flavor and texture of the steak tacos was good but portion size was tiny. I was still a bit hungry afterwards which was disappointing. Our waitress did not come back to take our orders until we had asked two other employees who were passing by to help us - we were left waiting for a long time. The interior and exterior of this restaurant is beautiful though - vibrant and festive.

Food here is scrumptious! Went in for brunch and had their taquitos divorciados the salsas had a nice kick to it. Not giving a full five stars because the drinks are a little weak.

This is my second review of one of my favorite restaurants in Philly. I recently had a friend come visit me and when I asked him what he wanted to eat, he told me he'd been wanting to go back to El Vez ever since the last time I brought him there. As always, the cool atmosphere, friendly staff, and fantastic Mexican food made for an enjoyable dining experience. Though I have never had a bad meal there, I have to give kudos to the De La Hoya guacamole (sweet touch with basil!), the birria tacos, and the spicy pineapple margaritas. All delicious! Highly recommended!

I was trying to pick a place close to the convention center for lunch and saw that Yelp had some good reviews. Weekday Lunch comes with a Mexican salad, two tacos and beans for $17.50. It was my friend's birthday and denoted it in the open table reservation. They gave us two free churros for dessert. It was really nice. It was a very dark inside for the daytime. Service was great and water glasses were kept full.

Absolutely a 5 out of 5! They offer delicious Mexican food in central Philadelphia. The serving people were all friendly and welcoming, which added extra points for my dining experience. I ordered an Oaxacan Old Fashion as my cocktail, a Birria Tacos, and a Flan as dessert. All were so good! Love this restaurant and it impressed me a lot as my first try in Philadelphia.

Such a great vibe, wonderful staff and food was incredible. They also have a Photo Booth which we used after our dinner

Loved how calm the atmosphere of the place was and I highly recommend the borrow tacos and the churros for dessert. Service was great but keep in mind that this place is always crowded, I lucked out going last week because of the blizzard!

El Vez is a lively & delicious restaurant! I have been here twice and enjoyed it both times. The interior is bright and colorful, and the menu has something for everyone. The staff is welcoming and attentive, and the everything we tried was excellent. The cocktails are well made as well. If you are looking for a fun night out, El Vez fits the bill! Check out the old school Photo Booth in the back!

Ordered take out from here. The app didn't work so I had to actually walk over and order in person. The guac and chips were delicious but really expensive for guac and chips. The ambiance is really cool in here and the vibe is great for a dinner or drinks out with friends.

This was my first time actually trying it and it definitely lived up to the hype of the Yelp reviews. My wrap had chicken, hummus, lettuce, and feta, and it was so delicious. My chicken was very good, very tender and seasoned well. It also had a great creamy hummus to tie all the other ingredients together. The feta added just enough saltiness to balance out the rest of the flavors. All of the ingredients were very fresh, and my wrap was extremely soft, yet still maintained its form completely as I ate. I also ordered a Nutella hot chocolate. It was delicious! It was my fist time having a Nutella hot Chocolate. I usually just get a normal hot chocolate. The pita chips served as an additional side item with this sandwich and proved to be quite enjoyable. The pita chips had a good crunch and were able to pair with the wrap very well. I ended up eating all of the pita chips! It was a great lunch and I enjoyed my wrap! I would likely order from Café Square One again in the future, especially, if that wrap is still on their menu!

The $10 martinis on Friday were an excellent deal and definitely one of the highlights of the evening. A well-priced martini always sets a promising tone, and these did exactly that. The bartenders were helpful and kept things moving impressively well, even with a group our size, which was much appreciated. The space itself is huge and very clean, with plenty of tables and seating, so it was easy for everyone to spread out, settle in, and enjoy themselves without feeling packed in. A major point in its favour is the setup for watching sports. They have a massive wall of TV screens, plus more TVs throughout the space, which made it very easy to keep up with multiple games at once. No awkward craning for a view, no fighting for the one good seat, just a very solid setup for a group outing. Overall, it was a fun experience and very much in line with the good times we have had at other City Tap locations in DC.
