You can't go wrong with a quick tacos + margarita combo at any loco per location. The south Philly location is my personal fave, staff are always nice, and the vibe is always welcoming.

Tacos and tequila really are the perfect pair, and this spot really delivered! We were in the area and needed a fix so we stopped here. My friend had been to a different location but it was both our first time to this one. The margaritas ($8, and not happy hour?!) were delicious. I ordered the mushroom, carne asada and al pastor tacos. I will definitely be back here the next time I do a Philly visit!

This place is so big. It has 2 bars (one on the top floor and the other downstairs). The place was packed for dollar tacos. We ended up getting all the tacos they had. The bar we sat at had a bucket of sauces so it was nice to have options from Tabasco to green cilantro sauces. The best tacos were the pez (it was basically a fried Mahi Mahi with tomatoes and some sour cream) and the gabacho taco which was a hard shell taco with ground beef, lettuce, cheese. The Al pastor and chorizo/potatoes were really good tacos as well. For dessert, we had the tres leches. I really liked how it was fluffy and the milky sauce involved with this dish. I also liked how it was loaded with pineapples.

I was walking and found this place and decided to stop in. I sat outside and the view and the weather was great. The service was okay with a little wait before the waitress came. I chose to have a couple shrimp tacos and added a side of beans and rice. The sides portions were big and I could not eat them all. I liked the beans but the rice was just okay. The food I had was mediocre lacking seasoning and did not compare to my favorite local Mexican restaurant. I had a strawberry margarita and that was okay.

I went to Loco Pez for Dollar Taco Night. The staff were so nice and patient. We had a large party, so they set up us in a half circular booth and brought over an extra table and chairs. We got through early and put in our order quickly, so the tacos also came out quickly; however, even when we placed additional orders after, the tacos didn't take unreasonably long to come out. The table had several different salsas/hot sauces. I tried all of the non-vegetarian tacos and especially enjoyed the camarones and al pastor. Can't wait to eat here again!

My 1st time at Loco Pez. When I first walked in I thought the place was really small! But then I was asked if I wanted to be seated upstairs. The upstairs section had another bar and TV's ( I was able to watch a baseball game). I ordered the house margarita ( no complaints), nachos ( they were okay), chicken taco ( pretty good). Our waitress was attentive. They have outside seating that I am Sure is popular during the spring/summer months.

You can't get a better deal than dolly taco night!! There was a long wait when we got there (5:40pm), but bar seating was first come first serve so we did that. The food came out quickly after ordering. On to the food: I felt that most of the tacos were very flavorful. My favorite was the Al Pastor because the slight sweetness from the pineapple on top complemented the saltiness of the meat perfectly. The carne asada and carnitas teetered on the edge of being dry, but they still had flavor infused into the meat. The pollo tinga was a nice surprise for me - I thought this was juicy and seasoned well. Camerones and pez were both fried to perfection and not heavy at all (I ordered without the crema though). There were variable sizes of pez, so some tacos had little meat while others had more. I'd personally get the Camerones over pez. The chorizo and potato was forgettable, nothing to write home about. Unfortunately, the veggie options were slacking in the flavor department compared to the meats. Soy chorizo tasted exactly like the soy chorizo from Trader Joe's; seitan adobo had nice texture; mushroom had no flavor and was mushy.

ITS A MUST to come and try their dollar taco nights!!!! I believe they post on their Instagram once a week on a random week day, the day that they're doing dollar tacos (on the day of). So you won't get to know which day they're doing $1 tacos, but if you're able to secure a spot at the restaurant for this special, please do!!! Went with some family a couple days ago and it was so wonderful and delicious. Our server was very kind and attentive and we did tip her a bit extra just because we could see her running around during this rush hour, it was a bit hectic on the restaurant's side of things, so I do appreciate everything they do during these crazy times!! We were seated outside and the graduate hospital location is very nice and in a nice neighborhood with nice vibes. Definitely want to try out the other locations especially for another dollar taco night. 10/10 recommend!

Pretty good taco spot in Graduate Hospital. I came here for dollar tacos night, which is on one weekday per week after 5 PM (revealed on their Instagram page). I got the fried shrimp, fried fish, chorizo, carne asada, and al pastor. The fried fish and fried shrimp have a nice crunchy texture with white sauce, and the al pastor is super flavorful. The other tacos (chorizo, pollo tinga, carne asada) are pretty average in terms of flavor. Each table has plenty of diverse salsas to choose from. Quick and friendly service. Seating for groups up to four people can take up to an hour on dollar taco night (highly recommend showing up 5pm sharp). Lots of seating on the ground and second floors.

Dollar taco night is my favorite! But also great to go any time of the week! Friendly staff, great place to watch the games at upstairs on large tv!

absolutely in love with dollar taco night! i am obsessively checking the instagram every single week, and you bet i will be back again! i've been raving about dolly tocky to my friends ever since the first time i went, and i was finally able to go again yesterday! we showed up early this time at 4:55p and beat the crowd, no wait at all and just in time for dollar taco AND happy hour. this visit, our server did let us know that it was both dollar taco and happy hour. lizzie was the absolute sweetest! we destroyed 7-8 tacos each and had a few margs as well. the margs were very strong, which was exactly what we wanted. we were seated on the first floor this time, at a very cute high top table. the chairs were comfortable enough, albeit very hard to get onto. i still can't get over how good of a deal dolly tocky is!

Ambience is simple and quiet, which I like. My husband had a spicy margarita as his drink & he said it was impressive. As for food--we remained unsure if we want to come back for it. Chicken enchiladas were amazing, birria beef tacos were just okay, & shrimp quesadillas was just not--not good at all. It didn't look or taste like one. We did like its tres leches cake! I don't think we'll drive out of our way for the food but may stop by for a drink if in neighborhood.

We were greeted as soon s we walked in by both the bartender and one of the owners. Our server brought water as soon as we sat down. She was attentive and helpful with explanations. The food here is authentic! Several different kinds of guacamole are available. We chose the one with pomegranate. It added a nice crunch and flavor. One with grasshopper was available. lol that was a no for me! The trio of empanadas were delicious. We shared a carnitas taco platter and branzino platter. The tacos were tasty. The branzino was cooked nicely with good flavor. The rice and beans and Brussels spouts and mushrooms were all delicious. I'll definitely be back!

The meat in the tacos was so dry that it was hard to chew and swallow. Some of the pieces were cooked to a crisp. No amount of salsa could make them better. I'm sorry I didn't take photos of the tacos, but trust me me I get no pleasure from leaving a bad review for this place; I am not lying or exaggerating. I thought they were going to be one of our local gems. I choked down a half a taco, gave the rest to my husband and he couldn't eat them either. The churros actually had raw batter in the middle and the outside was rubbery and hard at the same time. You could barely bite through it. I'm a cook and I know that that is about keeping the oil at an even temperature to get the inside done and not overcook the outside. Someone in the kitchen did not know what they were doing. The thing is, I have had their food before and it was pretty good. I don't know if there is a new chef or what happened, but I can't trust them after this experience.

But El Rey is good in its own right, taking familiar foods and flavors, with a bit of a fancier twist, and making a good meal that I love to eat and enjoy! Seating and service here is friendly and prompt. Even when it's pretty loud and seems packed, there are always a handful of open tables available, where we've usually been able to be seated almost immediately. Such was the case this evening. We were on a bit of a time crunch so we ordered immediately and our food came out so fast that the waiter for our table was surprised as the food beat him with our napkins to the table. We ordered the Tuna Tostada and the Yucatan Spiced Chicken Fajitas. Both were amazing! Good thing for our tight timeline, the food was gone as fast as it came. The waiter helpfully recommend the house hot sauce, which was certainly spicy and a good compliment on our fajitas. Overall, a great place to dine for Mexican-inspired!
