Went to El Techo, I really like how they open the rooftop of this restaurant. It was nice to have this on a nice spring day. The food was pretty basic in my opinion. I had the chicharron, guacamole, and cauliflower taco for my appetizers/entrees. The chicharron was so big. There was a lot of it. I really liked how it came with a lot of sauce as well for dipping (the sauce was cilantro based). The guacamole was very basic. I liked the cauliflower taco. It was very unique, in my opinion. The standout feature of this restaurant was definitely the popsicles. Don't sleep on the popsicles! I had the chocolate banana popsicle. It was absolutely delicious.

Rooftop views, cocktails and tacos. You really can't go wrong, and I was glad that we visited El Techo on an unseasonably hot day in October. They have a fun take on an Aperol spritz that was infused with mezcal and lavender. Sign me UP. Hubs got a margarita and also really enjoyed it. We had some chips, guac and tacos and everything was delicious. Tacos are little, so order a few if you are hungry. The vibes were great here, and you get some nice views of the city. Ten outta ten rooftop experience in Center City.

Guess I should not complain much as I had gift cards to use given to me by the Motto as part of their Elite program. The bar/ restaurant is located in the top floor of the Motto Hotel. I had $75 dollars worth of gift cards to use so thought it would be fun on our last night to view the city lights. The views are amazing and beautiful and that is about the only nice thing I can say. Everything here is Self serve... You order and pay through app... Drinks are limited, small and costly. I ordered a glass of sparkling wine/Champagne that was flat not a bubble to be seen and seemed like it was the dregs of a bottle that had been left open for a while. The expresso martini was tasty but small. What got me was the cost and all the extra fees. I ordered nothing from kitchen but was charged a kitchen service fee, because I used gift cards from Hotel was charged a fee for that. To have most of the gift cards used for two drinks was insane with the one drink being so bad I could not drink made it worse. Getting assistance with drinks was difficult at best due to the lack of service. There are other lovely bars with a view that would be better and definitely friendly on your pocket than this one.

I ventured up eleven floors to the top of the Motto by Hilton in Rittenhouse Square, not out of curiosity or hope, but because someone once told me that rooftop bars are supposed to be enjoyable. That person owes me thirty-four dollars and an apology. To reach El Techo, you must first stand in line in the lobby of a different restaurant called Condesa. There, a hostess doles out elevator access like she's guarding a Cold War bunker. This might make sense if I weren't staying in the hotel. But I was. Still, I waited. Hotel keys mean nothing in this brave new world. When we arrived on the roof, the sun greeted us with the enthusiasm of an angry god. The space looked nice in the way showrooms look nice, carefully arranged and entirely inhospitable. There was little shade and many surfaces seemingly designed to reflect sunlight directly into your retinas. I ordered a drink called the Mango Mango. It promised rum, lime, ginger-agave syrup, and tajín. What it delivered was a watery whisper of citrus sadness. The rim was the best part, and that rim was store-bought. My wife ordered a spicy margarita. It cost an extra dollar to make it "spicy," which apparently meant placing a single slice of jalapeño in the glass like a souvenir from a better bar. It tasted like a marketing meeting in liquid form. The staff was kind, but very slow, like a dream where everyone is moving through molasses. We finished our drinks and fled before the heat could finish baking our brains. We were there for maybe twenty minutes. The drinks were forgettable. The views were mediocre. The sun was unforgettable. I give El Techo two stars, one for effort and one for the tajín. Neither belongs to the bartender.

I had a great time with friends on a Wednesday evening for dinner in November. It was actually kind of quiet and cozy. The menu and ordering was through a QR code at the table, which was easy to navigate. I got a spritz which actually had a kind of unexpected smoky taste but was refreshing. We shared the guac and chips which was very delicious, and I got a cauliflower and a shrimp taco which were both SO good. We had a great time!

Came here during happy hour time. Not sure if they have dedicated happy hour menu but definitely worth visit and going to rooftop for great ambiance. You can order everything on your phone and also pay that way which is very nice and food came out quick.

Came for brunch. The space itself is cool: you take an elevator to the 11th floor and you're transported to a rooftop restaurant. The roof is retractable so could be a nice option when warmer (it was closed when we went). We got all the salsas (free chip refills!) which came with a surprising amount of options, so that was nice. The barbacoa tacos were fine, nothing special but standard (the tortilla tore a little easier than I would have expected so a bit hard to eat). The chorizo rojo hash was delicious. A solid amount of chorizo with a delightful sauce. The menu didn't have a ton of things outside of barbacoa tacos that I was interested in so I was surprised to have enjoyed this as much as we did. The drinks were fine-standard margarita with a tajin rim. The service was a bit slow. We were one of two tables and it took a strange amount of time to get napkin refills, water, and the check.

First and foremost ! Monica was absolutely amazing! She suggested wonderful tasty margaritas! Her service was above and beyond! Now that we moved here from California, this will be our go to brunch spot! On a separate note The music doesn't match the vibe I almost felt like I was in an airport terminal E for exit.. it's loud but if they chose better music I think it would make me wanna catch another flight and stay longer Service was great though

We went to El Techo for the first time Saturday night. We arrived at 5, thinking we would 'beat the crowd'. It was standing room only-however, within 15 minutes, we had a table. The outdoor space is beautiful-it's loud and has a strong vibe. We started with a few Margaritas - they were good. We were going to have some chips and guacamole, but went straight for the tacos. We wanted to get a variety of tacos, so we ordered 4 different types. The first was the Coliflor taco, which is crispy cauliflower, with salsa verde, tomatoes, onions, cilantro and a delicious salsa macha mayo. The cauliflower was crispy outside, yet tender and very tasty inside. It was the first cauliflower taco I'd had and was an excellent introduction! The next taco was the Barbacoa, which is braised beef. It looked so appetizing, but fell short on taste and texture. It was also a little too spicy for me. We had the Camaron taco next - which turned out to be the star of the show! Beer battered shrimp, with all the fixings, including an amazing chintesle (chipotle) mayo. The shrimp were large and succulent-perfectly fried to a light crisp. We ordered another at the end of the meal because it was so delicious! The last taco was the Carnitas, with pork, guacamole, onions and cilantro. It was a tasty taco, but some of the pork was overcooked and the texture wasn't typical of pulled pork. In retrospect, the venue's rooftop is incredibly inviting on a nice summer evening. It's worth a visit just to enjoy the restaurant's unique setting. We will be back and will definitely order the shrimp and cauliflower tacos - they were truly some of the best I've had.

Hmmm could it be that my expectation was too high? I was dying to try this place and when we finally had an opportunity to check this place out, I was super excited. When we arrived, there was a long wait we put ourself on the waitlist and waited to go upstairs. This is where things get confusing, if you don't want a table, you can go upstairs as long as they're not at max capacity. So it seemed like bunch of people are cutting in line but they actually weren't? But eventually we went upstairs and typically roof top bar, no one's friendly but we also didn't expect our service to be so horrible. We didn't get napkins or sharing plate for food...so we kept asking for it. The roof top is super nice but it's very crowded so it's not even enjoyable at that point. Glad to try this place out at least once but I will be going elsewhere for my rooftop bar!

This place was amazing! It's a bit hidden but definitely worth it to go give it a try. Great views and the ambiance/environment was amazing! Not much to comment on for the service since you order via mobile app and they bring it out to you, but they were nice! I had some of their tacos, and by a good amount I would say they are one of the better tacos I've had in the city! I would definitely come back!

Pollo verde (foreground) and sweet potato chorizo (background) tacos

We started with the salsa sampler, which came with an assortment of six salsas of almost every color and heat level. I wish I had asked which was which, as I would have liked to call out my favorites (the dark red one). We also ordered the queso fundido, which we all agreed had a mild pizza-like taste, but we couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was. It was delicious either way. The chips that were served with all of the dips were delicious -- well salted and sturdy enough to support the dips, especially the thicker queso. For my entree, I ordered the sweet potato chorizo taco and pollo verde taco. I'm not sure if the sweet potato chorizo was meat-free, but it was delicious. The pairing with black beans made it even better. The flavor notes from the onion and cilantro elevated the taco to another level. I will definitely be ordering more than one of these next time. I wasn't as crazy about the pollo verde taco. The chicken wasn't well-seasoned, and the other ingredients -- pumpkin seed salsa, radish, onion, cilantro and crema -- weren't able to compensate. The taco wasn't bad, but I don't think I'd order it again. My favorite thing I had was probably the papas -- crispy potatoes, roasted poblano vinaigrette, scallions and cotija cheese. Despite the toppings and vinaigrette, the potatoes maintained their crispy texture well. The flavors melded together perfectly. I could have eaten an entire order by myself. The service was great and I actually enjoyed the order via phone system as it worked well for the format of ordering as you go. We didn't have to worry about tracking down our waiter every time we needed to order another round of drinks or food. One note: if you go during the day, there's a good chance that you'll be sitting in the direct sunlight -- shaded seats are limited. It's just something to keep in mind if you're sensitive to the sun. Since this isn't a place you run in and out of, I'd recommend bringing sunglasses and sunscreen just in case.

We braved negative degree weather for the roughly 10 minute walk from our hotel. We walked in at a good time. This is the type of place where a reservation for breakfast would be required. We were sat immediately. The dining area is tight. A green velvet bench, marble tables, metal chairs, all packed into a small area. You could very well have your butt brush over the table of the patrons next to you if you have to get up for any reason. It's tight. Our server was around quickly. He was super friendly and kept things conversational, light and sophisticated. My wife ordered an iced latte, I had their hot drip coffee. For a starter, we had to try the cinnamon knot bread. While it wasn't what we were expecting, it was good. Although, we wouldn't order again. The bread is presented as a small loaf, room temperature with a cold cream cheese icing drizzled over top. The bread had a mild cinnamon flavor and was dry. It lacked the sweet, moist dough you expect from a cinnamon bread. My wife ordered the French style omelet. This had gruyere cheese and chives. Beautifully plated, perfectly cooked and the taste was spot on. It was good enough to forget that she paid $21 for just an omelet, no meat, no sides. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. Pretty standard here. The eggs had bright orange yolks which is common for farm fresh eggs. The "coffee" hollandaise didn't come across with a coffee flavor but it was rich and went well with the ham and English muffins. One thing that stuck with me was their drip coffee. Not sure if it has been a while since I had a light roast but the Rival Bros. Revolver coffee was so good, I got a bag of whole beans to bring back home with me. I may even order it again online. Enswell succeeded on all fronts. The ambiance and service was great. The decor, impeccable. The food, thoughtful and tasty. The details from the silverware to the plates added to the experience. We would come back.

I'd much rather come back for a simple fried egg combo and chedda cheese. I was also offered sparkling water, but I do wish it had more fizz. The service start to finish was superb in friendly and fast service. I'd come back for mimosa/bar for sure.

They pick the most popular dishes to bring out to the table but also allow you to request any specifically that you'd like. By the end of night, we had a TON of food, even more than we could finish, and ended up trying at least 15 different dishes. All the food was great, with some of my favorites being the eggplant caponata (cold, very flavorful), scallops a la plancha, jamon & manchego croquetas, spiced beef empanadas, and the paellas. Favorite dessert was the chocolate cake, but we were received all the desserts other than the ice cream and sorbet. I may have liked the food experience less if I had ordered off the regular menu and only tried a few small plate, but I loved the option of trying so many dishes. By the time we finished everything, we had been there for over 3 hours (including lots of wine of course), which was really fun! The staff were immediately sympathetic, super friendly and helpful. Of course, as if I wasn't embarrassed enough, as soon as the 3 year old washed his hands, he shouted "I'm hungry" (is this sort of human I'm raising?). We were already in a restaurant so why not. Before being seated or looking at the menu, I asked for some fries to be put in and the waitress offered some chicken tenders. After finally looking over the menu, I don't think these are regular offerings so I appreciated them trying to be accommodating to a frazzled parent at dinner time. My vegan mother in law joined us and we were pleased that there were so many options for her. My absolute favourite (such that I had to order another round) was the eggplant caponata - perfectly sweet with a little bit of spice. It was so warm and comforting - exactly what I want at the end of a long cold day. My MIL's fav were the Brussels sprouts - they had a tang reminiscent of buffalo sauce and were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, textured heaven (extra bonus points for the 3 year old absolutely LOVING them - he redeemed himself). If you like hummus, try the spinach and chick pea cazuela. Squash is in season so I knew it was going to be delightful - the pomegranate was a combination that was new to me, but it didn't disappoint. We didn't try the roasted carrots (because my household is all carroted out for the moment) but someone one table over was gushing over them. As a meat eater, I have to say that the non meat tapas were standouts - I tried the empanadas, they were fine; I didn't enjoy the meatballs and I just wanted to order more of the eggplant caponata. All in all, I would definitely come back, maybe for drinks with friends or date night. The drink list looked inviting and nothing says intimacy like mood lighting and shared plates. The price (without alcohol) was very approachable - for $80 a vegan, a 3 year old and a frazzled mom left satiated.

The food was lovely, and I'd know since we ordered everything off the HH food menu. Even though some of the items I didn't like, I could still tell the quality of the ingredients. The focaccia and polenta fries were my favorites!! They reasons this isn't a perfect five for me is because the HH menu is pretty limited. Also, I've tried to come to Alimentary before, and it just didn't work out. As in the restaurant wasn't available to the public due to a private party. Also, it's quite literally just an hour long and only runs during the week.

We order so much food and all the food that was eaten by us was well prepared and high quality. The octopus was no chewy, the gnocchi was like chewing on a cloud, and the dough for the pizza has the nice black spots on the bottom and a nice chew. The pizza is also not greasy and will not hurt your digestion system. All the dessert are to die for. Prunella is legit and you should check it out!!!

Girl dinner, but make it cozy, delicious, and elevated. I recommend a party of 3-4 to really maximize your experience. However, this year, we just weren't as hungry, so we did some girl math and decided it would be cheaper to do ala cart. We ordered two of the famous spicy caesar salads (must order!!), a ricotta toast, a White Claw pizza, and a finished off our meal sharing two chocolate budinos. The White Claw is a pretty classic white pizza, mozzarella and swirls of basil pesto; the crust is amazing! It pairs perfectly with the salad. The ricotta toast is decadent and addicting, but a little bit goes a long way. The chocolate budino was outstanding - sweet, with hints of espresso. We won't talk about how I ended up with some of it on my white turtleneck... Service was friendly and QUICK! We ordered, and I swear we had our first dishes in less than 10 minutes. The server was a doll, though I can't recall his name. Downside of Prunella, like anywhere in Center City, is there is no parking. Upside, is you're just a short walk from the 13th St. Septa Station, and you're literally equidistant from Broad and Market streets. Pro-tip: Killer happy hour specials, but only at the bar. Good selection of beverages, if you're into that type of thing. Come hungry, leave happy, and maybe don't wear white.
