The raclette sandwich was a decadent grilled cheese. I got a cassis and Perrier drink that was refreshing. My spouse got a pastis cocktail and loved it. I love everything about this: casual bar with great drinks and delicious snacks. You can eat a full meal or just graze. The market has great food to go. If I lived closer I'd be a regular. read more

Ever since Superette opened, it's been on my radar to try. A friend and I stopped in on a cold night in December. It was a weeknight, but surprisingly, the place was decently full! We were able to snag a table without too much issue, which was great. It's cozy in Superette, and I love the renovated space and the overall decor - great wine bar vibes. For the cold day, it was the perfect space to warm up, but I also imagine that it's a great spot to chill in the warmer months with the windows and doors open and perhaps some outdoor seating. It was a bit loud in the restaurant, but not overly surprising given the space and the number of diners. Their beverage menu was impressive, including both wine and non-wine options. Of course, I gravitated towards the wines since they are a wine bar after all! The day called for a hearty red, which certainly helped warm me up. My friend enjoyed her mocktail (and appreciated there being ample options on that front). For eats, we shared a broccoli/cauliflower dish that featured chili oil and pomegranate seeds, as well as a cream sauce to chill it down. This was a solid vegetable dish that was fresh and light but with enticing spices. We each got one of the sandwiches - I personally loved my raclette sandwich, which was nicely encased in a ciabatta roll and paired well with the mustard and cornichons. I enjoyed the French focused menu, really leaning into the overall trend and theme of the restaurant and matching any beverage you would have selected. My friend also enjoyed her sandwich (although I can't quite remember waht it was...). The dishes we chose were filling enough without being overwhelming, and again, paired well with our bevvies. Prices were a little high, but for the quality and vibe, on par with the rest of the city and worth it. Another great stop on the E. Passyunk trail of amazing restaurants. This cute diner-esque restaurant serves options for many palettes alongside of a drink menu and small shop to boot. You can sit in the window and people watch, at a table with your party, or at the counter for the complete diner vibe. I had grilled octopus and potatoes along with the A La Plage almond mocktail. Superette is a super cute, lively addition to the neighborhood. Outdoor seating, friendly service, delicious food and drinks, soft serve and some items for purchase to enjoy by the fountain if you can't get a seat! I've enjoyed all the food and drinks I've gotten there and it's a great spot for people watching from inside. The artichoke, octopus, ravioli are all delicious. It can get a bit pricey and portions are not huge but I keep going back. My only other complaint is it's always so busy, it's hard to get a spot! Glad to see them doing well and recommend checking it out. read more

What a cool spot! Located in the trendy E. Passyunk area, parking may be hard to come by but we managed some sort of spot. It's an easy spot to locate with clear signage and prime corner real estate. Inside it's a bar, it's a marketplace, it's a vibe! It pulls at French inspiration from its menu to the decor but doesn't lose itself completely. There's a coziness to this place that makes it comfortable and its interesting set up makes it more distinguished. My wife and I shared their cheese plate (it's the charcuterie board but they subbed the meat for our vegetarian palates) along with the beet salad and raclette sandwich. We enjoyed each dish and they all came out as they were prepared. The service was attentive and very friendly. I think this could work for pre or post drinks or even a great date night like we did. What wonderful staff at Supérette! Every single person I interacted with was kind and engaged. It reminds me of an upscale 50's diner with blue vinyl bar stools and a kiss of France. I had the SOUR, vodka, tarragon-lime cordial, black pepper. It was incredible. We also ordered the Plateau of meat and cheese. It was a good snack but next visit I'm leaning into the sandwiches (I'm looking at you raciette) I perused the bottle shop, picked up a red and white and bid the team au revoir. read more

Solid place for a drink with good vibes but I don't think I'd come back as the food left much to be desired. Cheese plate was underwhelming and for the price you'd think you would get a bit more. Didn't come with enough bread and we asked for more and the person seemed annoyed we asked. Their uncut ravioli dish had an acidity I wasn't expecting that overpowered the dish. Who the hell would have "Thunk" that an old butcher shop here in South Philadelphia would turn into a super HOT bar with amazing cocktails and a pretty substantial menu to complement their drinks. First of all, Superette was so crowded on this Thursday (late) afternoon, you had to walk in sideways. This is always a good sign. Their syncopated menu had everything on it that would enhance the vibe this place gives off. We had: * Their version of what a gin martini should be. For me it had a lot of vermouth, but I actually liked it * Their "Smash" bourbon cocktail with lemon and mint was a stone cold winner * Superette somehow found a Belgium ale called Saison Dupont that was so good, I would come back here just for that!!!! * The lentil salad we had was remarkable * So was the steak tartare - just amazing Somehow, in my recent travels, I have been introduced to some extremely high end (not price wise but quality wise) cuisine. This space was too cute not to stop in. They have food to go, as well as meats and cheeses and lots of bottles to choose from, including non alcoholic options which I appreciated! We decided to wait a bit for a seat at the window and ordered a few snacks like the lentils and the escargot tarte which was so unique and the perfect size. I got my favorite non alcoholic sparkling rose and my partner tried one of the mixed drinks which also had some flair. This really is one of the best restaurants in the city imo. I've been here three times and it's so insanely good every time. However, I was disappointed to see that they removed the Lima bean dish from their menu. That was one of my favorites. Great service too. The fire alarm went off during the most recent visits and the servers brought out some complimentary wine and dessert shots as an apology for the inconvenience. read more

My new favorite wine bar spot in the city! I love this restaurant group (le caveau, good king tavern) and I really enjoyed the new vibes of this restaurant. It's more open, with bright light and clean white tiles. I love the concept of buying some groceries and a bottle of wine here too. The food was EXCELLENT.
