The pork collar, rice & squash, and tart flambee dishes were by far my favorite! I was so pleasantly surprised overall by the way the dishes all complemented one another. Our waiter recommended 3-4 dishes per person which worked well for us. I do wish the rice and squash dish could be ordered as a side dish size as well. It was amazing but we filled up on it before we could get to our main course dishes and we also wished we had saved it to go with our pork and fish. The restaurant itself had a very cozy vibe. It was dimly lit but not to the point where I can't see the menu. However, it was pretty loud inside to the point where I had some trouble hearing the person sitting across from me.

Seated at bar for our Sunday evening reservation. Service was top notch and staff was knowledgeable about menu and gave great recommendations. The place is beautiful with great decor and lighting. The raw items were super fresh and complimented each other well. The rice had a hint of sweetness which was delicious and the pork collar literally melted in your mouth. The housemade sourdough was also a nice treat!

It hits and it's staying. The food was paced perfectly. Shareable and good food. Amazing service. Great vibes and honestly what was needed. Looking forward how the restaurant will continue to change.

Smattering of patio tables on both Eighth Street and Carpenter. When I saw it, I said yes before even looking at the menu. We ordered drinks at the bar and took them outside. It's very chic but also casual. There were mostly pairs or trios - no families. Not th. We saw people ordering a little bit of everything. Honestly, the menu looked great! The kale Caesar salad, the piri piri buffalo chicken dip, bacon wrapped plums, etc. The drinks were the best we had on our Philly trip! The Spanish Monk which had gin, lemon juice, frothed egg white and smoked paprika. I had the GGG which they carried over from their old menu. Can't remember what was in it but she said it was similar to Bee's Knees which is one of my favorite! There's self service still water and sparkling water in the back of the restaurant. Perfectly chilled. Perfectly bubbled! Such a lovely spot!

Reasonable. We walked upstairs into the cutest little dimly lit romantic wine bar I've ever seen. That was a lot of descriptors, but I felt them in my soul. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir and got a side of fries ($5) and pickles ($5), as there is no better date night than wine and fries. One of the most underrated combinations in the food game. They are oddly reminiscent of Brandon Roy and Lamarcus Aldridge, just so underappreciated. We sat there, watching the USC and Florida football games on our respective phones between sips of Pinot Noir and bites of these phenomenal fries. These Good King Tavern fries are my favorite I've had in Philly. Both of our teams suck this year, but both won that night. HUGE! Le Caveau delivering miracles... IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

Love this French restaurant I went to last week and already want to go back…read more I had the escargot which were a little lemony but delicious and hard to find at most restaurants. We tried the Leeks all dolled up, the vegetable was healthy and very tasty. I had myself a fortified wine for the first time! This is really the reason I tried this place, as I have never had fortified wine before. What is it you ask? Basically, wine with brandy in it making the cocktail come in at approx 15-20% bac. Fortified wine is poured in much smaller glasses than a normal wine pour, but I am thankful I got to try it. I got the duck of the day, which was duck confit, and it was amazing. My friend got the steak frites and I was very impressed with the quality steak, was ordered medium but came out beautifully medium rare which my friend was happy about as he immediately regretted telling the server he wanted it medium. I didn't have room for dessert, but this unique restaurant has so many items that you cannot find everywhere, and it makes me want to come back ASAP. As always people SYOY!!!!

Somewhat of a small space so reservations may be necessary. There is a changing special / additions menu so watch it if you're looking for some specific French dishes. Tried the croquettes and they were small and tasty bites. The creamy aioli was so thick, almost like a cheese sauce. The tavern burger was nicely cooked and meaty. There is raclette cheese melted on but the taste was subtle. Good bun that held up well to the big patties. The fries are crisped and seasoned nicely. A few other menu items I'd like to stop in and try, thanks.

USA Today not in the trenches like that smh. According to our robot friends (ChatGPT), there are 60k-70k bars in the US. Trying to narrow that down to 27 seems a bit ridiculous to me. It's giving "ESPNs top 100 athletes of the 21st century" list. They are clearly just trying to stir up some controversy to get their clicks and readership up. Yeah, you got more engagement but at what cost? How much is your soul worth? But to be fair, here I am mentioning both lists so they are doing their job lmao. Y'all won... Okay I'm yapping, but I walked into Bloomsdale hella skeptical. We walked through the cobblestone streets of South Philly and entered an ultra inviting interior. Dim lighting with candles at every table, exposed white brick on the walls, white marble tables, clean wooden floors, vintage wooden chairs, a wood burning fireplace, etc. We sat and within the first 10 minutes I already shazam'd 2 songs. I lowkey rarely shazam songs anymore, so that holds weight with me idk. Playlist was hittin. Our waitress was super engaging and jawning with us, and was great at recommending the natural wines without being too serious. I honestly can't believe I didn't get her name cuz I really want to shout her out. For food we went with the Lemon Pepper Wings, Patatas Bravas, Wedge Salad, Dry-Aged Burger, and Steak Frites. Honestly, all the food for me was a solid 8/10. Really good food, but not great. Nothing blew me away. Although my girlfriend will be mad reading this because she LOVED her burger so I gotta shout that out. This glass of orange wine I had though... my goodness. It was the best glass of wine I've had in a MINUTE. It was a natural biodynamic wine from Swartland, South Africa. Idk what "natural" or "biodynamic" wine really is, but I sound so sophisticated saying it so Imma keep running with it. All in all, top 27? Hell nah, but the vibes and wine in here are sensational. I will be back for my natural biodynamic wine from South Africa. I only drink biodynamic wine now... you wouldn't get it. Ig @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

The Caesar salad was very good but the lettuce was very large and it would've been nice to have the lettuce chopped into smaller pieces. The goat cheese dip was amazing and then calamari was perfectly fried and came with warm marinara. Our mains were very good and flavorful, but came out slow. We ended up taking the chicken parm to go since it took a while to come out and we had ordered several apps. The desserts were rich but good and we split and espresso martini which our server said container actual espresso rather than just coffee liquor.
