Stopped by Percy Diner and Bar around 10:30 AM and had a really great experience. The first thing I noticed was how nice and clean the place was. The interior has a really cool mix of vintage diner vibes with some modern touches, which gives it a unique and comfortable atmosphere. The waiter was very friendly and attentive, checking in at the right times without hovering. Service was also impressively fast, and our food came out quickly, which is always a plus when you're hungry. I ordered the Percy Burger with fries and also tried the Grand Slam, and both were really good. Everything tasted fresh and was cooked just right. We booked Percy for my daughter's and son-in-law's wedding and everything was great! If the management said they were going to do something, they did. No surprises. We had somewhere north of seventy guests and the space was great for dining on one side, DJ and dancing on the other side, and speeches by the bar. Not your traditional wedding food but everything that came from Percy's kitchen (and on their regular menu) was delicious including appetizers, dinner and dessert. Staff were fantastic, and took care of everyone like they were the guest of honor which helped to make the event a memorable evening. No more weddings in our future but will definitely be back for brunches and dinners! read more

Nice addition to Fishtown. Cool vibe and comfortable decor. Not really all that crazy about the food quality, pricing or customer experience . It was not that remarkable as far as breakfast items are concerned. I'd prefer to go to a local run of the mill diner. The servers were accommodating, but looked quite overwhelmed due to the busy brunch crowd. I felt bad for the host. She had to tell those with reservations that their table was not going to be ready for over 15-20, and those without reservations would have to wait over one hour. They need to manage this a lot better. Many tables were not cleaned off in a timely manner which resulted in delays. I was not impressed overall. However, I'm going to give it another try probably at a time when it's not so busy. Definitely NOT Phillys "most disappointing new restaurant". I stopped by for dinner not really expecting much from this diner but was totally blown away by the food, interior, and service. To start we ordered the shrimp cocktail which was delicious. Shrimps were large and cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed the cocktail sauce and horseradish combo- very balanced sweet and tangy. For the price I wish there were a few more shrimp but the execution was good enough for me to get it again. For entrees we ordered the friend chicken rueben and crispy barramundi. The Rueben had really crispy bread which held the structural integrity of the sandwich well- didn't get soggy at all even with all the sauce. The side of fries were also very well done. Crispy and seasoned. The barramundi dish stole the show. The fish was crispy and tender. Sliced almonds on top gave a fun texture to each bite. The side of squash complimented the fish with earthy miso butter flavors. And the broccoli and onion added freshness! The barramundi also came with a roll and compound butter. I was very surprised with how delicious this simple side was. This dish is more than sum of its parts. It seems like Percy's took some notes from feedback after its origins opening last year and has made major improvements including price. The server were nice but may be a bit too attentive/frequent while we were trying to have a conversation lol Mushroom toast and potato latkes were pretty good, a bit pricey for the portion, but the taste was good. Lamb hash was really good with potato/sweat potato, charred broccolis, tender lamb shreds and flavorful sauce. Croque Monsieur was hearty and flavorful with different layers and homemade bread, however you have to eat it right away, once it gets a bit cold (under strong AC in 10 mins), it becomes too creamy/heavy with runny yolk, thick mayo and cheese. Babka French toast was really good for share, not overly sweet, with creamy but airy vanilla custard and pecan crunch. The garden salad was too vinegary and salty, we even bit into salt cubes... The decor of the restaurant is pretty cute. As a heads up, the menu is pretty small. They only have starters, mains, and the entire back side is alcoholic drinks. They have some non-alcoholic drinks and a few desserts but we had to ask for those separate menus, which is fine. When we went, we ordered the Hokkaido Scallop Crudo. The sourness of the sauce complimented the scallop but the scallop itself was not the freshest. For the main dish, I got to try the Whole Dorade (fish), with bok choy and small potatoes. The fish was good. It was flattened and a little dry, but the sauce added a nice flavor. The small baked potatoes were tasty, but I wish the bok choy was a little less overcooked. For drinks, I got the weekly or special mocktail (mocktail that changes). It ended up being pineapple juice mixed with club soda. I was a little disappointed with the taste, since the bubbles made the drink less refreshing. Overall, the server was great. She was very nice and friendly, and she checked in us frequently. For the food, I would say that it was a 3.5 out of 5 for dinner. The Whole Dorade was a 4/5 though. The restaurant was pretty loud at some point so it was hard to hear. Because of the friendly service though (4.5 out of 5 stars), I would come back to try the brunch. read more

There's a live DJ and even a fire pit, which adds a really good touch and makes the experience even more enjoyable. The decor was pretty cool and I loved the study/work space tucked on the side. The food: We got the deviled eggs to start. Eh, I'm used to a hint of sweetness in my deviled eggs, but overall not too bad. I got the chicken and ricotta waffle. I like the hot honey on the chicken, but not the waffle. Opted for the regular honey, which worked better for me. The chicken was crispy, moist, and flavored! The waffle had a good texture and was otherwise standard in flavor. I also got bacon - it was as expected, and the potatoes. Idk what was on the potatoes besides the peppers and onions, but they seemed more boiled than pan fried, which I was not the biggest fan of from a taste or texture perspective, but they were seasoned. My friend got the ricotta pancake - which was delicious! And the Philly grand slam, which she enjoyed (though it is standard breakfast food). *I'd definitely come back to try more food. read more

This place was voted Philly's most disappointing new restaurant by the Inquirer. When I was invited to a party, I had to check this out for myself. The place is right next to the El. You can basically hear the train coming up and down the track from the bar. The place is really big. They have a main bar, seated area in another room, there was also another room that had a DJ booth and cozy/home looking seating. The bathrooms were single stalls with this funky tile I really liked. The whole place is well decorated. It was pretty easy for me to get a drink at this place even with a lot of people at this private party. The aperitivo spritz na was a very big pour. I really thought it was well done. I also got Apple cider high ball that was decent. While I was pleased with the drinks, I was less pleased about the food situation. It was a private party but they should have been better about handing food out. I had a Caesar salad which was pretty basic, some fries which were underwhelming, and a part of a bologna sandwich. The dessert was a small cream puff. Honestly, Costco makes a better cream puff. Granted, I didn't try this place for brunch which seems to have great ratings on here but I was definitely disappointed by their private event experience. read more

It was super creamy, delicious, and served in a generous portion. The staff even offered to split it into two bowls for easier sharing, which was a nice touch. I had it with a side of eggs (an interesting combo, I know) and also shared the French toast with the table. The eggs were nice and fluffy. Fluffy eggs are harder to come by than you'd think. So it's early days for this place and I have high hopes. Today my friend and I grabbed brunch. Tons of attention was paid to the aesthetic. Great energy in this place. The bar is gorgeous. I got the ricotta pancakes. They were plate sized and had sugar and cinnamon sprinkled on top with a cinnamon butter and a small two tablespoon sized thing of syrup. The pancakes were good. But for $20 for two pancakes I expected to be blown away. The 3 pieces of bacon for $5 was crisp and delicious. My friend got the babka French toast. It was lovely on the plate. The sauce it came with was great. It had a crunch from the pecans but the flavor didn't really shine. The babka was good but the edges were a bit dry in places and dark. My friend also got the duck sausage. He said it was good. They only had apple and orange juice. Meh. Idk. I like the vibe. I'll check it out nice dinner is an option. The host was extremely rude and dismissive, telling us they were no longer accepting reservations or walk-ins, without any courtesy or effort to make the situation better. It wasn't just a "no," it was the way it was delivered that left us feeling unwelcome and disrespected. I rarely leave negative reviews, but customer experience is something I value deeply. A place can have good food, but if the staff makes guests feel like they don't matter, it ruins the entire visit. And had their espresso martini which was great followed by crab croquettes, devil eggs, and carrots for appetizers. For mains had their dorado fish (must try) so good and half chicken - it was good but I have tried better it wasn't very tender, a little chewy but still overall it was good. The space is beautifully designed, and the staff were genuinely friendly--checking in with us several times throughout the meal. One thing to note: when you look at the menu on the table, there's no mention of espresso drinks, which can be a little confusing.
