We almost skipped Terra Grill because of some negative reviews, and I'm so glad we didn't. We had a 6:30pm Saturday reservation but arrived early to enjoy a cocktail at the bar. After checking in, we chose to wait and head to the bar instead of being seated right away, and that decision paid off. Melissa greeted us with a big smile and thoughtfully asked what I typically enjoy drinking before offering suggestions. That alone felt more personal than the usual "What can I get you?" She made me a lemon drop martini that was fantastic, and we enjoyed chatting with her before heading to our booth. Dustin was our server and couldn't have been better. He let us dine at our own pace, made a few helpful menu recommendations, and gave us space to truly enjoy the evening. Since we're not big eaters, we shared the Parker House rolls, peppered calamari, and grilled branzino. Everything was absolutely delicious and beautifully prepared. We were tempted by the salads but honestly had no room. The parsnip purée and spinach with the branzino were standout sides...so good we wished for more. No dessert for us, but we did enjoy a few cocktails and wine with dinner. As wine enthusiasts, we found the list a bit overpriced, but that was our only minor critique. Otherwise, we loved both the food and the atmosphere. Please don't let the negative reviews stop you from trying this place. New restaurants often need time to work out the kinks, and Terra Grill is clearly heading in the right direction. We'll definitely be back. read more

OK, so I came back a second time and had a much better time. This time during HH, which was quite worth it. I pretty much bought one of everything. The chicken sando is a MUST. One of the most tender chicken I've ever had and despite a simplistic appearing dish, was quite amazing. The short rib bun and tera sliders were also delicious. The wagyu hot dog is good and it is in a flaky pastry, very reminiscent of some Asian hot dog buns but an elevated version. The service this time was impeccable and was very attentive. Our server accidentally put in the tuna tartare instead of the tuna toast that was on the HH menu. They comped the tartare, apologized, and brought out the toast (which by the way, the toast is pretty much the tartare but I guess a "technically" smaller version). I was so excited to see a new restaurant with a large outdoor space open in NoLibs, and it was the perfect spot for a warm spring day. The food was fine but not worth the money. You're basically paying Kalaya or Suraya prices for food that is just a step above the Cheesecake Factory, so you might as well walk 10 minutes farther to Fishtown if you want better food. The salad was good but not $41 good. The duck was not good at all. Service also left much to be desired (e.g., waited a long time to get water refills and to get the check) but it's likely because the place is so new and still figuring itself out. Terra Grill is definitely a good addition to the neighborhood, but there are so many better places just a smidge north to spend your money for a better experience. I'd say it's a good place to people-watch and enjoy a cocktail. (This did not factor into my overall 3-star review because I understand that not all restaurants should cater to kids. However, in case anyone is wondering if the place is kid-friendly, the answer is no, although the staff was accommodating. Go to Urban Village across the street instead. We arrived minutes after the doors opened, had a seat at the bar and ordered a few happy hour cocktails while we waited for our friends. They've only been open for a few months so everything is sleek, new and modern. All of the staff was friendly and attentive. There were a few misses with the food- fries, broccolini and mashed potatoes came to the table luke warm/cold, but everyone was apologetic, hot replacements were sent out quickly and they gave us a complimentary watermelon and tomato salad - which was delicious. Overall everyone enjoyed their food and the atmosphere was great. I'd go back again and try a few other menu items. read more

Both the brunch and dinner menus are amazing! Going with a large group was fun because I was able sample a lot of the items on the menus. You can't go wrong with any of the choices. Can't wait to go back to sit at Terra's beautiful bar and also their patio when the weather gets warm! read more

Terra is such a great new addition to Northern Liberties and honestly exactly what this neighborhood needed. It's so nice to finally have a spot like this nearby without having to head up to Fishtown every time you want a really good dinner or fun night out. The drinks were amazing, the food was amazing, and everything came out fresh and full of flavor. You can tell they really care about quality. Service was also great--everyone was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. So excited to have a place like this in the neighborhood. Definitely coming back soon. read more

Looks like we have a new favorite steakhouse! Starting with a friendly greeting by valet Sob (valet parking being most appreciated in this vibrant Northern Liberties neighborhood), to a short, pleasant check-in (we arrived early, but were seated right away), it was smooth sailing all the way. Beautifully designed interior, and a generous outdoor seating. Service by Melissa was extremely professional: helpful, insightful, and personal. Every dish was a winner, from the Parker rolls, to the filet and sides. However, the winners were the Jersey corn and the jalapeno chimichurri steak sauce. 3.5 stars is what I'd give Terra grill. My experience was a mixed bag of good and bad. Terra grill definitely has potential but needs work. I dined at 6:30pm on a Wednesday evening and it was dead. I think the price point is very high for this area and that may be why it was not busy. We were seated right away, lovely hostess. Our server was also very nice and knowledgeable about menu. We ordered Parker rolls/hamachi tartar/ Caesar salad/wedge salad/ ribeye/branzino/ asparagus/mashed potatoes/grilled cabbage and popcorn sundae for dessert. The pacing of food was slow and odd. We thought the rolls and tartar would be out right away but it was a good 15 minutes before it was served. It came out with the salads instead of before. The entrees also came slowly even though we were done with the appetizer course. The ribeye had not been rested after it cooked but it was a cooked well. The mashed potatoes lacked salt and was very stiff and dry. The asparagus was good but the cabbage needed salt too. The branzino was overcooked and accompanying sauce was meh. I think a salsa verde would've been better. The popcorn sundae was very very good. The server/food runners never wiped the table in between courses or offered fresh black pepper either. They also have paper placemats but cloth napkins. I think there is a confusion as to if they are high end steakhouse or casual steakhouse. Their price point does not match the experience. Since it opened a month ago I've eaten here (no joke) probably 6 separate times - I've sat at tables, the bar, and the outdoor patio and everything has been incredible. Food is insane & the drinks are so good. They also have a really good wine selection. Service is great and they are really accommodating & knowledgeable. Also the vibe and ambiance in there is so chic, it's a great spot for a first date or a girls night. Vibey music plays and the seating allows you to want to stay the entire night.
