I recently visited this place to celebrate a friends birthday. The location is not ideal as parking cost (paid metered street parking and parking lots). Our party of 6 went on a Sunday with a reservation and were quickly seated upon arrival. What I didn't care for was the lighting. It's on the darker side and in my experience, when it's dark, it's a way to try and high imperfections. Upon walking up to our table that included a cushioned bench seat and clear chairs, I noticed the stains on the cushions which looks terribly disgusting. My mind immediately thinks about what was spilled, dropped, and leaked onto the seat so I snatched up a chair instead. Our server (I forgot her name) was fantastic. She was very pleasant and checked on us periodically without being overbearing or us being annoyed that we couldn't get her attention. Thank you! We placed our drink and food orders together and everything came out in a timely fashion. The music was really good and not so loud where we could not converse with each other. While sitting at the table I looked up at the ceiling and noticed what appeared to be a mold stain. i took a picture of it and zoomed in and it was not mold. It looks like some liquid splatter. It just reminds me why I don't like places with "poor" "mood" lighting. We were staying in the historical area of Philly and Frame was walking distance. We had a great meal from appetizer to entree. Food was beautifully plated and good sized portions for sharing. The Branzino was the highlight of the night. Each bite was like butter that melted in your mouth perfectly sautéed in a lemon sauce. Service was great and very friendly. We had multiple staff members check in with us and very attentive. The ambiance felt like a club vibe more than a restaurant and it's probably a very busy place in the late evening. Had the chance to go to Frame Philly last week while in the Ciry of Brotherly Love. The food was second to none with the drinks and the food being top notch. Frame is definitely a VIBE. Not sure if it's just the energy i felt from patrons (mostly my group) or the music being played but i barely sat down the entire time. If you're looking for somewhere to enjoy a birthday or have a fun night out this is the place! My friends and I went for her birthday and were impressed by the attentiveness and personality of the staff! We were given complimentary drinks and our waiter was hilarious, he had us laughing all night! I ordered the teriyaki salmon and it was so good I saved some to take home for later. After our delicious dinner we went upstairs to the club/lounge area and danced in between our photo taking. I was having a staycation in the area and decided to check out this restaurant for Sunday dinner. I love the intimate ambiance and sensual RnB vibes, immediately I was seated at my 7pm reservation. For starters, I had the Strawberry Julip and the Oysters. I love oysters and I was a little concerned when my oysters weren't sitting on ice. The Fresno mignonette also wasn't my favorite. It tasted like it was from a jar. Great drink, but the oysters I could've done without. For my entree, I had the Steamed Mussels and French fries. I loved the sauce the oysters were in. The white wine, herbs, and lemon really gave it a nice twang. I would add a little sugar to the sauce to round out the acidity of the dish, but it was delicious. 3.7 out of 4. Came through to celebrate a friend's birthday during their late night situation. First and foremost, vibes. The restaurant is fairly narrow but it's slightly enough space to get to and from your table. The DJ was definitely reading the room when it came to music. The food was bomb, especially the skewers. The drinks were darn good as well! We went upstairs when Unframed opened and it's really chill there as well. It's recommended to get a table, otherwise you're standing. Walking around the city we happened to find Frame. It was Saturday afternoon (brunch) and we hoped to get a table without a reservation. They were booked with large parties for the day. But, they offered that we could sit at the bar. Our bartender was super nice and drinks were great! For brunch we tried the Chicken and Waffles, Cajun Style Grits and the bartender highly suggested the breakfast potatoes. The Chicken and Waffles were good and presentation was nice, The Cajun grits had a large piece of salmon and at least 6 large shrimp. There was not a lot of grits with the entree. The flavor was great but more salmon and shrimp dish. But, I would order it again! The breakfast potatoes were ok. They looked nice. But, the potatoes were a bit underdone for our liking. To start I ordered an espresso martini to be told they were "out of espresso" after that I ordered the shishito pepper app to be told they were "out of peppers" mind you we had a 6:30 reservation. THEY OPEN AT 5:30. We asked the waitress what she recommended and I specifically asked about the crab cake entree. I was told they were a top seller, only to receive two giant balls of filler and shredded crab meat/ mush. Over $700 for one of the worst meals I've ever had. The best part of it was the complimentary slice of butter cake they gave me for my birthday. What a joke! read more

Tried this restaurant because I seen it on TikTok, the live DJ is great, security is welcoming but the service and food(rice not cooked all the way/ calamari rubbery) is absolutely trash. The bartenders are not made for the hospitality industry--no interaction w guest & no chemistry w each other. The bartenders can't even suggest anything they've tried on the menu. This bar needs real bartenders, ones who know how to give a proper shake, smile and energy for folx to come back ...... especially if they're doing automatic 20% gratuity. I was disappointed with my experience at Frame during a social event this evening. The bar area was quite full, so I asked if I could sit at a two-top, since several tables were empty and there weren't many other places to sit or stand. A staff member, possibly a manager, told me that tables were only available for dining and suggested I go upstairs. Unfortunately, the upstairs area also had no seating options--only a very small bar without chairs and more dining tables. I ordered a gin and tonic, and my bill came to $26: $20 for the drink, plus a $2 service charge and an automatic $4 tip, none of which was communicated beforehand. This left me feeling surprised and frankly taken advantage of. The space and location have potential, but the overall execution and warmth of the staff did not match the upscale pricing. The food was also very flavorful and enjoyable. We ended up ordering a few plates to share family style: Mussels, calamari, the pasta of the week (that week it was a seafood pasta) and lamb chops. Our server was very kind and attentive. The only downside and the reason that my rating is a 4 and not a 5 is because they are very strict with the timing and how long you're allowed to be dining for, which is not the best when you're trying to have a night out. No one likes to feel rushed, especially on your birthday. The manager (or whoever was in charge that night) was frustrating and for all the money we were paying for food and drinks, let us eat and stay until we please. We came for brunch and I like that they provide you will bottles of Prosecco at your table for bottomless so you can refill at your convenience. I didn't like that the mimosa's were served in a coupe cocktail glass though -- I feel like people don't drink mimosas at the super slow speed they would drink a sidecar or something of that nature (which made the drink very easy to spill). The food however, was underwhelming. I got the tacos and found them to be bland, not even the sauce on the side could hide the fact that these tacos had little to no flavor. My first visit to Frame was overall very positive. In my opinion, the biggest draw to Frame is the cocktail menu and overall ambiance. This is a great spot for a date night that could turn into a night out. While my visit was on a Thursday night, I felt like I should have ventured out in Old City while in my uber home. My boyfriend and I sat at the bar and were promptly greeted by the friendly bar staff. We tried a few different cocktails, and I loved the Midnight Rendezvous. My boyfriend enjoyed his Pisco Sour which was so beautifully done. Who doesn't love some bitters artwork in their cocktail foam?! The food experience is the reason this is a four star review and not a five star review. While everything we ate was good, the price point is on the higher side and the kitchen seemed to get pretty backed up after our starters. We waited an hour from the starters until our entrees and sides arrived. A few friends recommended trying the Braised Pork Belly and we are so glad we did. That was definitely a highlight. I really enjoyed the Poached Pear Salad and my boyfriend loved the Octopus starter. The side of brussels was another highlight that I'd recommend. After seeing some pictures, I am regretting not ordering the Truffle Fries.
