    Cheeseburger and New York strip
    Giles D.

Visiting I was a bit skeptical because I do rely on reviews and pictures before visiting a restaurant. My friends booked a reservation which wasn't needed because it was empty. Empty because it's new and some people may not be aware of this place but once I tasted the food I knew that this was a sleeper. I wasn't able to get great pictures of all the food but I'll say, the black garlic wings, burger, roasted chicken, New York strip, pulled pork sliders, and loaded fries with pulled pork was phenomenal. The main two things that stood out to me were the pulled pork sliders and loaded fries with pulled pork. This pork was like pernil, full of flavor, not fatty by any means. Definitely a great lowkey spot to get a couple drinks, eat, play pool, and watch some sporting events.

Had a pool table and darts! Fairly spacious with both bar and booths. Nice variety if drinks. I enjoyed the chai cocktail! Haven't had anything like it before

The people are nice, I like the interior a lot, the food has declined steadily over time. I'm also troubled that for wings they just give you a small stack of cocktail napkins, get some wet wipes in ya goobers.

Fantastic experience! Came here for a friend's birthday. I sat at the bar and the bartenders were both very attentive. My friend ordered the loaded fries and I ordered the wings. The fries were extremely salty. My friend informed the bartender and he happily took it back and brought her a new batch. It was fantastic! The wings were also to die for. I ordered them well done and wow. Some of the best wings I've had in Philly! The space itself is spacious and the bonus is that they have a pool table! I'd return if I am in the area.

The drinks and vibes and music are great. Portion sizes and food is not. I wish I took a picture of my $12 'loaded fries'. I got a dollop of wiz.

I really really want to give this place a better review but the service was very bad and disappointing. The server was friendly at first even though they forgot to us bring menus. I think they forgot to put the order in entirely, came back a while later to confirm our order. We waited a bit and then all the food (appetizers, entrees) came out all together even though we asked to have them served separately. The food did not even fit on the table, the server left plates hanging off the edge of the table and then walked away with the last dish without saying anything and never came back. After finishing everything another server came and we asked what happened and explained what happened to us and the response we got was "thats just how it is". No apologies, no concerns, didn't offer to check in on the missing entree. Eventually the last entree was delivered to the table again. The cocktails were not good, specifically the manhattan was very watered down and not done well. The wine was fine. The food was actually pretty decent. The venue seems cool, there are multiple rooms: bar, seating and a larger room with a projector and high tops.

5 star food, 4 stars drinks, and 5 stars service and vibes. The lamb ribs were seasoned perfectly. It had this nice savory spice blend , sticky sweetness from the molasses, and I think the lime cuts through the sweetness well without being overly acidic. It's well balanced and the watermelon radish has a nice bitter and fresh contrast to pair. The potato pave is genuinely fun to eat. Not super seasoned so it's just potatoey layers. The smoked trout and potato croquettes was full of flavor. The trout and small chunks of potato felt almost too rich with the sauce. There is a thin crispy exterior to the croquettes. The portion is small but I think it's perfect or maybe I'd get heartburn lol. Whereas I think I could prob eat multiple portions of the potato pave.. next time.. The fritto misto almost had a buttermilk batter type feel to it. Super crunchy! Though you need to eat it fast or the more moist seafood (like the scallop) will get soggy. I'd suggest starting with the scallops. Although I didn't know this dish was supposed to have scallops? Bolt your way over to this nice new space. It's beautiful inside and spacious. I hear live music is coming soon!

I think I am mixed about Starbolt. It's convenient to the El and is a beautiful space. They have a darts hallway (just one) and a pool table. It's giving dive bar but everything was kinda expensive? I can't see myself frequenting here but I did like the vibe. We sat at a table and ordered a sour and a cocktail (Mint Logic). The cocktail was really tasty and I enjoyed it. We also ordered the green hummus. I really liked how it tasted but be for real, one pita cut into 4 pieces is not enough for a dip dish. They charged for additional pita but isn't pita dirt cheap? Just not what I expected. I will say the pita was very fresh and tasty. Somehow how we spent $45 on two drinks and an app. I think if I come back it would be after dinner and just for the $4 high lifes. I like the vibe and the staff was great. Stll mixed feelings.

You'd be unlikely to find this unless you knew to look for it. The main feature of this bar is the cocktail menu; it's creative and ambitious and yet very approachable, with helpful adjectives for each cocktail. The Mango Sticky Rice made my jaw drop; not only did the juicy mango come through, but also somehow a sense of starchiness, while being entirely balanced with the liquor. Definitely some of the best cocktails in Philly. And the music and vibe is so cozy but lively; the live records spinning create a warm atmosphere that is not sleepy nor dancey, instead you'll find yourself tapping your feet and swaying in your seat while in deep conversation or just enjoyable contemplation. I have to shout out Carl and Brianna, who made our evening especially unforgettable. They guided us seamlessly through the menu, were so knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. They really made 48 Record Bar feel like a second home we can't wait to return to. Last thing- the bathroom setup was such a fun surprise, you have to check it out!!

Huge bar, giant wall of liquor bottles, dim lighting, and a cool old-school vibe. I told the bartender that ordering a beer in a place like this felt like I was insulting him. He laughed and told me not to worry about it. The drink special was called "Naked and Famous," which honestly sounded like the perfect cocktail to order in honor of Jen. But then I spotted a dark beer on the menu that sounded too good to pass up. If you follow me, you know I'm slowly becoming a dark beer guy. I liked it a lot. The sandwich special was a cheesesteak. Sorry, I should've taken a picture of the menu. But I really enjoyed it, and for $18 it came with a mountain of seasoned fries, which feels like a bargain these days. Bomb Shell: the two people working absolutely crushed it. I don't know if they were understaffed or if Monday night got busier than expected, but they were working their tails off the entire time. I ordered guacamole and chips for appetizers and it came out right away. The chips are fresh and not stale. Good amount of guacamole. Street corn aka elote. The corn is juicy. Unfortunately, it was not enrobed with mayo and cotija cheese as a typical elote should be. Fried plantain: not many slices. They are dry and not sweet . I was hoping for more ripe plantain Birria tacos: small tacos, the consommé lacks of depth of flavor. I could only taste saltines. The waiter asked if I wanted rice and beans. I said only beans. It's basically mashed refried beans. I wasn't aware that it costs extra $4. My husband ordered this dish served in half pineapple. It has chorizo and shrimp. Again , lacking depth of flavor, very salty. Service was great. The staff is friendly. Credit card is accepted but with a fee. There's an ATM if you prefer to pay with cash.
