Amazing service, one thing I must say is that he was very attentive from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Full of excitement, full of knowledge, and left us feeling really good at the end of the dining experience. The food was OK, I had a sandwich and fries and my only negative comment was that the buns were way too big for the sandwich, if the buns were a moderate size to the actual things that were in the sandwich than it would've made a much more pleasurable meal. Outside of that when it comes to service and ambience, they definitely have it. The drinks were definitely top-notch as well. read more

I've only previously been here to attend a closing night party for BlackStar Film Festival which provided the perfect space for such an occasion. Very intimate, open floor, and chill. Coming on a random weekday felt like a great way to spend an evening watching sports, catching up with friends, or a good date spot. If I lived closer, I'd probably hang here a little more often. The bartender was awesome, and had great recommendations and banter. lol I didn't have any food this time around, but I'm looking forward to revisiting and checking out some items from the menu and to play some pool. read more

Does anyone even read these anymore? Originally our party had reservations for Post Haste at 7pm, but the morning of our planned night out, the manager of PH reached out via email at 7am apologizing to say that they would have a very limited tasting menu that night and offering complimentary tickets to the tasting. We decided to try there another night since their much raved about menu is already small, and made a reservation for Star Bolt for 7:30pm, twelve hours later. We arrived at Star Bolt at 7:30 on the dot, only to be informed by the hostess she had reached out to us "earlier" (we missed a call from the restaurant NINE MINUTES EARLIER while walking over) to inform us that a party had "bought out the entire restaurant" - with a shrug and a tone that implied this had just happened a few minutes before we arrived. Incredible. To add insult to injury the hostess offered a $50 gift card to the restaurant BUT that she didn't actually have it and to redeem said gift card once we'd have to mention our name to the staff when we came back. Comical. We won't be back. You - the reader of this review - could certainly try, but fair warning they may not actually honor your reservation or even bother warning you with any reasonable amount of time to come up with a contingency plan. Oh and its worth noting that all the other nearby restaurants we tried to eat at - now without reservations - had a 1-2 hour wait. Thanks for nothing, Star Bolt. read more

Visiting I was a bit skeptical because I do rely on reviews and pictures before visiting a restaurant. My friends booked a reservation which wasn't needed because it was empty. Empty because it's new and some people may not be aware of this place but once I tasted the food I knew that this was a sleeper. I wasn't able to get great pictures of all the food but I'll say, the black garlic wings, burger, roasted chicken, New York strip, pulled pork sliders, and loaded fries with pulled pork was phenomenal. The main two things that stood out to me were the pulled pork sliders and loaded fries with pulled pork. This pork was like pernil, full of flavor, not fatty by any means. Definitely a great lowkey spot to get a couple drinks, eat, play pool, and watch some sporting events. read more

Fantastic experience! Came here for a friend's birthday. I sat at the bar and the bartenders were both very attentive. My friend ordered the loaded fries and I ordered the wings. The fries were extremely salty. My friend informed the bartender and he happily took it back and brought her a new batch. It was fantastic! The wings were also to die for. I ordered them well done and wow. Some of the best wings I've had in Philly! The space itself is spacious and the bonus is that they have a pool table! I'd return if I am in the area. read more

I really really want to give this place a better review but the service was very bad and disappointing. The server was friendly at first even though they forgot to us bring menus. I think they forgot to put the order in entirely, came back a while later to confirm our order. We waited a bit and then all the food (appetizers, entrees) came out all together even though we asked to have them served separately. The food did not even fit on the table, the server left plates hanging off the edge of the table and then walked away with the last dish without saying anything and never came back. After finishing everything another server came and we asked what happened and explained what happened to us and the response we got was "thats just how it is". No apologies, no concerns, didn't offer to check in on the missing entree. Eventually the last entree was delivered to the table again. The cocktails were not good, specifically the manhattan was very watered down and not done well. The wine was fine. The food was actually pretty decent. The venue seems cool, there are multiple rooms: bar, seating and a larger room with a projector and high tops. read more

5 star food, 4 stars drinks, and 5 stars service and vibes. The lamb ribs were seasoned perfectly. It had this nice savory spice blend , sticky sweetness from the molasses, and I think the lime cuts through the sweetness well without being overly acidic. It's well balanced and the watermelon radish has a nice bitter and fresh contrast to pair. The potato pave is genuinely fun to eat. Not super seasoned so it's just potatoey layers. The smoked trout and potato croquettes was full of flavor. The trout and small chunks of potato felt almost too rich with the sauce. There is a thin crispy exterior to the croquettes. The portion is small but I think it's perfect or maybe I'd get heartburn lol. Whereas I think I could prob eat multiple portions of the potato pave.. next time.. The fritto misto almost had a buttermilk batter type feel to it. Super crunchy! Though you need to eat it fast or the more moist seafood (like the scallop) will get soggy. I'd suggest starting with the scallops. Although I didn't know this dish was supposed to have scallops? Bolt your way over to this nice new space. It's beautiful inside and spacious. I think I am mixed about Starbolt. It's convenient to the El and is a beautiful space. They have a darts hallway (just one) and a pool table. It's giving dive bar but everything was kinda expensive? I can't see myself frequenting here but I did like the vibe. We sat at a table and ordered a sour and a cocktail (Mint Logic). The cocktail was really tasty and I enjoyed it. We also ordered the green hummus. I really liked how it tasted but be for real, one pita cut into 4 pieces is not enough for a dip dish. They charged for additional pita but isn't pita dirt cheap? Just not what I expected. I will say the pita was very fresh and tasty. Somehow how we spent $45 on two drinks and an app. I think if I come back it would be after dinner and just for the $4 high lifes. I like the vibe and the staff was great. Went here around 6:30 pm on a Saturday and asked to be seated outside on the patio - it was lovely. Service was great and the food was delicious - we got the hummus, the wings, pork sliders with fries and deviled eggs. We brought our 1 year old and she loved the hummus, pita and fries. The service is great too, we were there during a busy Eagles game afternoon and the wait for drinks and food was never long. The quality of this fish was absolutely horrible and tasted like it was sitting out for weeks and then put on our plate. The sauce was incredibly salty. I really wanted to like StarBolt. It's a new addition to a rapidly changing neighborhood. Unfortunately, there isn't much to like. The food was mediocre at its best and inedible at its worst. I ordered the roasted chicken and my partner got the cavatelli with chickpea fries. The chicken was just okay. The chickpea fries were at least unique. The cavatelli was simply horrible. It was so bad it marks the first dish either of us have ever sent back to the kitchen. Our server was really nice about it though and brought the roasted cauliflower. This was not horrible but it wasn't very good. The place was fairly busy and some people are into different things but I do not see this place thriving here without someone entirely new taking control of their kitchen. Now for drinks. I forgot I had one. I got their old fashioned and it was meh. I should have just ordered a beer I certainly won't be back and wouldn't recommend it to others. read more

The big room with projector is awesome for sports but audio was out of sync and other TVs around the bar were off sync too. No viewing angles from some of the tables in the main bar. The fries and mussels were aggressively salty. Burger and fries were good otherwise. McDonald's style. Chickpea fries were a miss. Wings were a little wet, not crispy. So excited by this new spot! Starbolt is an awesome bar and restaurant, with beautiful interior decor that pays homage to the star bolt manufacturer that was there previously, great space and TVs for watching Eagles games/throwing darts/playing pool, and gorgeous outdoor spot and secluded bar by it that gives it a really elevated vibe. The food and drinks are great (chickpea fritters! Wings, fries, cavatelli are personal faves) and the menu is well-designed. Can't wait for them to hopefully open for brunch. Let's start with the good. The space is beautiful and the bartender was friendly and attentive. Now for everything else. Cocktails need some work. The Strawberry Signal tasted like vinegar. Cavatelli was not actually in the shape of cavatelli. It was more of a rustic noodle and was so heavily seasoned with black pepper it was overpowering. I'm also fairly certain that the sauce was butternut squash and not corn purée as described on the menu. Entrees and sides were poorly timed, cold and did not come out all together. I want to love this place so badly. It's right around the corner and was super exciting to see it open up. The building is awesome with a couple bars, pool table and darts. I will say it's a great spot to catch a game and have a beer but the food has been horrible. I've tried it twice now the first time we ordered five different things. They were fine but nothing to write home about. We decided to give it another shot and left even more disappointed. We ordered four different things just to see if maybe we didn't order well the first time out. The food came out in such a strange order and the first thing out, the side of carrots, were bland and cold. The fact that there was not even salt on them blew my mind. Next out we're the croquettes and lamb ribs. They were edible at least. Our main was the pork belly and it was the last straw. I've never sent something back before but this flavorless meat had to go. Again I really want to love this place but it's hard to justify giving it another shot. read more
