We came back to check out Jerry's HH and it sounds like they rotate their tapas. The sushi was solid, but for $10 that 6 piece roll is not much of a HH deal imo. I'd heard great things about Jerry's chicken Caesar wrap, but since I don't eat meat I asked to substitute shrimp instead. I expected there to be an upcharge, but I was shocked when the $18 wrap became $30 because the shrimp substitution alone cost an additional $12. What makes it even more confusing is that on the regular Caesar salad, adding shrimp is $10 while adding chicken is $6, a difference of only $4. Charging $12 just to swap chicken for shrimp on the wrap seems excessive and inconsistent with the rest of the menu. The wrap itself was good, but it definitely wasn't worth $30. Decided to visit Jerry's Bar for brunch today and I was not disappointed! The host greeted us with a smile there was live music playing and our server Stephanie was great! The ambiance is relaxed and is just your perfect local hideaway gem I must say. Stephanie assisted in making some great recommendations for the table. I had the Eggs Benny which have smoked salmon over crispy hashbrowns and poached eggs. Somewhat salty but savory nonetheless. I added pancakes with cream cheese and yes it tastes equivalent to a toaster strudel so if that's your jam you must try. The salad was great as well. Came here for dinner and really enjoyed! There was some sort of bingo going on when we arrived so it was very loud even though we were on a separate floor. Still it was a fun vibe for us. I stopped by Jerry's yesterday, around 6pm, before a show at the Fillmore, and I have a feeling I will be returning. Great atmosphere, just a short walk from the other attractions in Fishtown, and with some very enjoyable happy hour deals. Their happy hour goes from 4 to 7, which is very generous. I had the city wide with bourbon and a PBR for five bucks. And for dinner, the Impossible Burger with a side Caesar salad, and an order of pretzel bites. Everything was fantastic, and the cheese that accompanied the pretzels was like something from another planet. Just amazing. Staff is very friendly. The service was a tiny bit on the slow side, but I'm aware we arrived right in the middle of happy hour. They include a 20% gratuity on all checks. I think I understand why some places do this, but it's definitely not my preference. I'm inclined to go over twenty, but something about that automatic charge makes me feel less like doing that. I don't know, not a criticism, just a thought. It's not sneaky or anything, the waitress circles that part of the check so there's no misunderstanding. Bingo was getting underway as we left, so maybe it got louder then. This crew is *the standard* for customer service!! Great customer service set the tone for our enjoying our food. Most of us had a variation of the Chicken & Waffles. I had a chance to visit Jerry's bar on a beautiful evening where they had live music, much business and a really enjoyable ambiance. It was loud, not crowded but a lively group. The bar was spacious, room for my friend and I to have some great cocktails. The Expresso Martinis were phenomenal, so tasty! It was tempting to eat or get a snack but we had dinner reservations immediately after but the menu looked good, many options and a great place to be. Jerry's has been recommended a time or two before for brunch so that's next on my list when I return. Parking can sometimes be tough, but if you have patience you'll usually find something. Staff are always good, and food is usually on point. The jazz brunch on Sundays is nice, and they have some good outdoor eating options, some with flame and/or heat lamps for the colder months. Wish that they would crack the big windows though so that the people sitting outside could enjoy the music a little more, but plenty of options typically to eat inside. They look out for their staff by including a 20% gratuity to try and give them a living wage, and don't try and hide that when the bill comes. read more

Stephanie our waitress was awesome, she had the best vibe, great personality and was thorough in her presentation of specials and suggestions. I had already picked out what I was eating after viewing a reel someone posted on Instagram. I ordered the Loaded Home Fries, Bananas Foster French Toast, a side of Turkey Bacon and of course a MOMOSA. Baybeee!!! That smoked gouda gravy on them loaded home fries sent me into something! Pure perfection, they got them home fries so absolutely right!! They were better than I imagined them tasting. The other two orders were the Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Chicken & Waffles (sorry didn't get the pic at the restaurant when it came out) but there was a to-go order placed before we left. Everything was delicious, the atmosphere was bustling as it was a Mother's Day Sunday afternoon, if I lived in Philly I'd frequent this establishment on a consistent basis. Jerry's is the kind of Philly eatery I love: tucked in the neighborhood, off the beaten path, cozy, and with a menu far more sophisticated than any neighborhood cafe in another city. The cocktails are great. The burger is delicious. The seafood is as fresh as you can get. The sides are even better than most places: grilled bok choy, roasted Brussels sprouts, hand-cut fries. I've made a meal of those and would do it again. Salads are also made with care. Even the green side salad has chopped vegetables and is elevated beyond the usual iceberg-cherry tomato-green pepper combo. Staff are great. First and foremost, the hosts and our server, Ashley, were great! They were very helpful and super accommodating. This was our first visit to Jerry's, but it won't be our last! We met friends during restaurant week and ended up ordering from the main menu instead, as it was just too much food for the price of $45 (which is a big positive); we don't like wasting food. Hubby got the hummus platter, which was enough for 2 or 3 people. I ordered the spicy tuna with crispy rice, which was my entree. I loved the flavors and the jalapeno on top! Others in our party ordered the halibut special (which she is still raving about) and the pork chop. She ordered the chop medium-well and said it was dry. However, she blamed herself for how she asked to have it prepared, as she said she could tell the meat was of excellent quality. The wide variety of cocktails and beers was fantastic, and I tried a lavender cocktail and an espresso martini. I wish the glasses were a bit larger, but the drinks were exceptional. Lastly, we had the bread pudding for dessert. It wasn't as moist and gooey as I would have liked, but that didn't stop us from eating it all :-). I am excited to try Jerry's for brunch next time. My friend and I were looking for a place to go on the night of the Super Bowl that didn't have a tv! I know...but the Eagles weren't even playing so... I actually saw Jerry's featured on "Check Please" on PBS so we gave it a try. Good choice! We were surprised to find that they were taking part in restaurant week so we decided that would be the way to go. I ordered the fish (I'm writing this weeks after so can't remember what dish.. trout? Maybe) Anyway, what I DO remember is that it was good! This place has such a warm feel and Mike took such good care of us. He gave us the low down of the menu and even some interesting facts about how Jerry's got started. came here on a Thursday and the environment was pretty fun. To my surprise as the evening got later there was a game night it seems because a dj was handing out bingo sheets throughout the place. It was a pleasant surprise. A lot of people played including myself and the prizes were pretty cool. I just came for drinks but I will be back for both drinks AND food.
