I almost bailed out from coming here because I thought it was just a bar. However, after watching a couple of Instagram posts by a food influencer who raved about it, I decided to give it a try. Upon entering, I saw the bar area. Further down is the dining area and an outdoor dining area on the side. I was surprised by how cute and romantic the main dining room is. Menu is very small. Our waitress was very helpful with giving us recommendations. Clams: it was suggested our waitress and she was right. It has green herb broth that makes it special. The complimentary bread is a perfect vehicle to soak it up. Roasted mushroom: I love the umami from the broth. Salad: I've never seen a salad served like this, it looks like a centerpiece for a table. Leaves of lettuce are stacked up beautifully like a floral arrangement with perfect amount of dressing. Definitely check it out. Chocolate pudding: it has a slight taste of bittersweet chocolate and coffee. It is surprisingly balanced with three cherries that add more sweetness. The cheesecake is another great dessert. Creamy with thick graham cracker crust topped with cherries. The cheesecake and the cherries aren't very sweet. The sweetness comes from the graham cracker crust. Outstanding. Their beer is enjoyable too. My husband and our guest like them a lot. I was distracted and this place was busy. Second stop with guest eater and drinker Lala. They only have 3 house beers. They do have a full beer, drinks and dinner menu. It looked like everyone else was there to eat. We got the Morning Swim. It is a nice clean crisp pale ale. We got an Old Fashion. It was very tasty and NOT ridiculously over priced. Easily one of the best bars in Philly. They pour a proper Guiness, all of their prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality of food that you get. Steph is my favorite bartender there. I dined for the first time at Meetinghouse on a Monday with my daughter who lives in Fishtown. She loves the place and it's her favorite go-to neighborhood restaurant. It's a small bar and restaurant in Port Richmond, and it's great. The vibe is friendly neighborhood hang out, with simple delicious food and a welcoming staff. They have specials every night and on Monday it was spaghetti and meatballs. I let my daughter order and we split the green salad, the turkey club sandwich and the spaghetti and meatballs. You wouldn't think they go together, but they do! Everything was very good comfort food, not fancy, just well prepared and served promptly. They have a liquor license. They also do a mystery glass of wine nightly, which is exactly that! You don't know what you'll get and they won't tell you what it is even if you ask! For dessert, we had something called caramel toast, which is as weird and delicious as it sounds. The prices are very reasonable. Located in Old Kensington, it is within walking distance of several breweries, making it an ideal stop for a quick bite after having a few pints. On a Saturday visit, my party of four sat outside on their comfortable patio and had excellent service. The inside was busy, but it was still possible to get a table with only a short wait. The menu is small yet well rounded for a casual lunch. We tried the pesto clams, their famous roast beef sandwich, and the turkey club. Every dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared. As a person who loves clams and roast beef, this menu got me very excited! The roast beef was a tad dry for my liking but paired nicely with the horseradish and the pickle. We also got the baked clams and it was delicious!! So tender and that garlic butter complimented the dish well! The crab dip was good too but more on the thinner side than what I am used to but the flavor was nice. Very rich and creamy and even though they messed up our order and put two of them in- we still paid our portion so can't complain! The service was top tier! They were quick, attentive and very friendly ! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We stepped in for food and drink on a Sunday evening. It was busy in the bar for the game but we were able to get a table in the back. The back was dim with candles and it felt very cozy. The menu was on the small side. We shared shrimp cocktail and fries. Both were okay. We did the mystery wine because the owner is a winester. It was good. Not something I would have otherwise tried. For my second glass I got the red. It was fine. My friend got another round of mystery wine and because they ran out of the first wine the second mystery wine was different and very good I thought. The back padip area is really nice with somw fun art, vines, ans plenty of seating that is perfect in nice weather. The inside on the other hand was a bit much when we got there. It eas pretty packed and hot. Outside seating only took about 15m to get though so it wasn't too long of a wait. At first I thought the beer was a great price but the size seemed about right for the cost. The beer itself was just okay as well with nothing in particular standing out about it. We were in Philly for the day and decided we had to make a stop to experience Meetinghouse. We were welcomed as soon as we walked into the entry bar area and guided to a table in the warm and cozy dining area. I loved the blue tile along the walls and the candlelight. The menu is concise and interesting. We'd heard a lot about both the Roast Beef Sandwich and the Baked Clams. Out of context, the pairing might be odd but we were ready to try these Meetinghouse stars. I was so impressed with the sandwich. The beef was so incredibly tender and flavorful, I almost didn't want to add the horseradish sauce, it really didn't need it. The kaiser roll successfully captured all the delicious juices and I rudely licked my fingers. I totally understand the appeal of this sandwich and if I had confidence it would travel well, I would have brought an extra home with me. The clams were also wonderful but I felt the sauce was the actual star and not the clams themselves. A very tasty green, almost chimichurri sauce covers the clams and fresh bread is provided to sop up any remaining. Our 5 star experience at Meetinghouse took a slight dip when shrimp cocktail was brought to our table "compliments of the house" but then appeared as a charge on our check. We were rushing to make a train home and didn't have time to ask to have it removed. Overall, an absolutely wonderful experience and meal! read more

This place has such good food. I never expected this brewery to have such an interesting menu. They have a ton of sandwich options, entrees that consist of fish/meat, appetizers, and desserts. Our server was so helpful in guiding our meal decision. She was so friendly and easy to chat with (I guess her day job is teaching but honestly she should go into sales). If the owner is looking at this: Get this woman a raise! The place has a bar with some stool seating. There is a small other room that has table seating. It's definitely important to get reservations since it is such a small space. I highly recommend the baked clams and green salad. The baked clams tasted delicious especially with the garlic butter. The green salad was presented so well. It looked like a square with dressing all over it. The Dijon vinaigrette was so tasty. Our entree was a broiled fish with potato's. I really liked the potato's. I liked the white sauce it was in. The fish was of good quality but it was kind of small. The desserts were amazing. I loved the ice cream more than the desserts actually. Sat at the bar, which was cute and personally enjoyed the ability to watch the 1990s Batman movies that were playing on the TV while we were there. And the bartender was super pleasant as she checked in on us a few times. Food: - Roast beef sandwich: overall pretty simple and straightforward so done well. Didn't end up utilizing the horseradish, but imagine some would like that. The roll was good at first but by the end was pretty soggy. - Clams in garlic butter: Really enjoyed the flavoring of this. Not a huge portion but big enough for the price (wouldn't recommend this as a main dish itself given the size). - Crab dip: Good amount of crab and the seasoning was great. Would have preferred if the crab were a bit lumpier but I didn't mind the texture for a dip. The toast given for the dip itself was rather simple, may be better served by a chip instead. The bartender gifted us an order of fries which were perfectly crispy and salty without being overly salty. She also gave us slices of 2 different breads and truly this with the salted butter were the highlight of the meal. The bread was so fresh and the butter so much more than ordinary butter. And it was great to dip this into the clams sauce. The beer options were fairly limited and overall fine. Overall, definitely hit the spot for a low-key Sunday lunch. read more

New Beer Bar in Kensington! Cozy, neighborhood bar serving beer, wine, cocktails, spirits and small bites. The food is no frills, but does the job and there is something for everyone! My husband and I got the bread & butter, cheese (manchego) and dry sausage (chorizo). The dessert is the real show stopper! We had the chocolate pot de creme, the crème brûlée and the pavlova. The pavlova was a nice surprise, with a dried meringue topper that visually looks like whipped cream, and melts in your mouth like cotton candy but has a shell like crisp. None of the desserts were overly sweet, which we preferred! The beers were good, and so was the cider! The staff was attentive and friendly, made great conversation! My friend and I have mixed feelings about Meetinghouse. It received a great NYT write up so we went in really excited for the experience. From a food and drink perspective, it mostly lived up to its hype. The roast beef sandwich was solid as were the fries (though lukewarm). The dark beer was similarly tasty. The ambience is nice - cozy and unassuming. But our service was another story. Over-rehearsed? Over-attentive? Automated? All of the above. It didn't feel warm nor genuine throughout our meal. Then, we apparently overstayed our welcome when they said it's time to wrap it up. Friday night, prime time dinner hour. I get it. The restaurant and waitstaff need to turn over tables. It's a business after all. But this restaurant needs a reminder that the restaurant industry and hospitality are intertwined. That is all. read more

Went for lunch on a slow day and had the outdoor area to ourselves. It's nice and somewhat secluded. Was able to get some shade and enjoy the warm weather. Both beers were nice and smooth, the dark one especially. The Mushroom Oysters are a must, the broth had a nice tangy flavor and the mushrooms were a good texture, not too chewy. The roast beef came with a nice amount of very good horseradish. Putting that on the sandwich just elevated it slightly above your basic roast beef. They surprised us with a salad to try and explained it's meant to be eaten with your hands and they leave stems on to do that. It was a different approach but it worked and while the vinaigrette was a bit strong it still worked. The lemon sorbetto is tart and sweet. The presentation is nice with it coming in a hallowed out lemon. We'll be back. read more

The place has a nice vibe. The service was great, and the prices were OK. The menu is a la carte, so a club sandwich in what looks like it is on Wonder Bread is $13 (in August 2025). Want fries? Add $6.25. Want a lettuce salad big enough to share as a side? Add $13.75. The $22 steak and fries special tasted fine, but the steak was only about a quarter inch thick, which was weird and not filling. Overall, it's nice not to worry with leftovers. We got the Bikini and Turkey Club sandwiches, which were both pretty good. Ordering drinks felt like a bit of a gamble. I liked my beer (got the morning swim), but wasn't exactly sure what I would be getting since there's only one word in the description for drinks (3 choices of "pale" "dark" or "hoppy" beers, and "red" "white" "sparkling" or "mystery" for wines). Meetinghouse has quickly become one of my favorite local spots. Initially, I was a bit skeptical due to its limited menu and relatively low prices, assuming it would offer typical bar food at a standard neighborhood drinking establishment. However, I was entirely mistaken. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between classy and casual. While one-half of the venue serves as a bar, the other side features an elegant dining area complete with reservations, tablecloths, and candlelight. I ordered a Roast Beef Sandwich for just $10, and it turned out to be incredible. On the night we visited, they generously offered us a few complimentary appetizers that had been mistakenly prepared. For just $10, I enjoyed one of the finest meals I've ever experienced. I can't quite figure out how this place works, but I'm definitely a fan. read more

Came here from south jersey and went with the roast beef sandwich and fries with the in house beer 9/14 after 3 not too busy. The beer is ok not my fave and I did regret buying 3 6 packs to go back home since I didn't have anything at home lol. The sandwich is good but is it go out of the way amazing to get it. No lol. I came here since bonapetit had this on best new restaurant menu. We've been excited to try this new spot in the old Memphis Taproom location and went for the New Years Eve special. The food was excellent, perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The table next to us kept ordering from the regular menu and everything smelled and looked amazing, we'll definitely be back to try more. My one gripe was that the prime rib special was for two but they only brought the one plate and one steak knife so it was a little awkward passing that back and forth, but they were busy and probably didn't notice. Service was friendly and the ambience was a little noisy but cozy. I'm also not sure I understand the "mystery wine" idea, they wouldn't even tell us if it was red or white before ordering and didn't share any more details even after drinking it. I've been to a place where they did something similar and if you could guess the wine you got it for free, but this was just odd. Is it Yellowtail? It's probably Yellowtail. Anyway we enjoyed everything we had and will be back, happy to have this place in the neighborhood! read more

First time here, it's been on my "hit list" for quite a while and definitely lived up to my expectations! Walked into a packed bar, standing room only. Bartender was super friendly. Greeted us immediately, offered menus and then brought our drinks to us. Then we checked in for our reservation, we were offered inside or outside. Inside was so charming, candles on every table. So, we decided to sit inside. Our server was just as friendly as the others we had encountered. I will say the menu is a little odd, that being said, everything we ordered was delicious and served with a genuine smile! For the four of us, we shared the green salad with a very tasty dressing, roasted mushrooms, although good, probably my least favorite. The baked clams are out of this world, broth to die for.
