While on a work trip we wanted to grab drinks. I wanted to find a place that was casual, but would still impress everyone I was with. Andra Hem definitely delivered unique drinks, a casual, inviting atmosphere and friendly staff.
Came into town from NYC for my birthday. We stopped in Andra Hem a little after opening on our first day in town. We sat upstairs. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor was amazing where we sat which I will refer to as the yellow corner[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] (see photos). Beyond the great ambiance the bartender upstairs was very friendly and helpful.
[[HIGHLIGHT]]I love a good speakeasy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]You'll easily miss Andra Hem if you're walking too fast.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's about 15 seats as the drinks are good. If you're in the area, stop by.
We planning on coming in for a quick drink and ended up staying here for hours. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is fun and funky, the staff is super friendly and attentive, and the drinks are great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The pickel bowl was fresh and tangy making for a great snack while we were there. The lemondrop had a nice ballance to it as well. They were great about refilling waters and striking up conversations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only two downsides is the croud and the price.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything is a little bit pricy but worth it and to be expected at a place like this. It also gets busy so most people were standing but we lucky got there early enough to get some seats at the bar. Overall a great place for a nice date.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]It's tiny and only seats maybe 20 people, but there's a back railing for some minimal standing room. All I needed![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm obsessed with the Easy on the Chais. It's boozy, smooth, and absolutely perfect. I drank it all 3 nights! I'm also obsessed with the Golden Eye. It's frothy and the nutmeg is the perfect touch. I'd drink this every day! My friends got the Pear Jordan which was so delicious but very strong ginger, it'll clear your sinuses! Delicious. The spice world was also good but not my fave. Their version of espresso martini, "Bee-DSM" used tequila and whip cream, delicious, but more of a dessert than a martini. Love this place so much!
They open at 5 and got there around 5:40 and were shown to a cute banquette upstairs. Drinks aren't cheap but very unusual. I had the Fig Around. Olive infused vodka and fig and my daughter had the Golden Eye. Coconut milk, turmeric and vodka. Both were very tasty. We ordered spicy popcorn to munch on and it was perfect. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Trendy interior and good service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
Stopped in on a whim for a birthday cocktail and were able to be seated at 6:00pm on a Saturday night. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat upstairs at the bar and the ambiance here is NICE. I love the speakeasy feel and it was packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I likely should have ordered off their standard cocktail menu but was really craving a French 75, and also found their cocktail menu to be a bit lackluster. My cocktail was nice, served in a coupe, and drank easy. Bartender was a little grumpy but the rest of the staff was super kind. Look for the martini sign out front and enter the black door. I would recommend a reservation!

The bartender came over to us to take our order, which made it a seamless process. I ordered the Golden Eye cocktail, and it was comprised of turmeric spiced vodka, herbal liqueur, coconut milk, lime, amaro, and nutmeg. The flavors all went together really nicely, and it was an all-around lovely sipper. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I wish I could've stayed longer to enjoy the ambiance but I was on a time limit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll be back again one day for sure.
Really inventive drinks! I had a yogurt washed cocktail and it tasted just like a gogurt/childhood yogurt drink and was very refreshing and nostalgic. Room was quiet and great for chatting and catching up over a drink. Service attentive and did a great job explaining different drink options! The snack board was SO delicious and big portions that were perfect for 4 people to share. The beef jerky, cheeses, and spreads were so flavorful and definitely had enough crackers and bread to enjoy
Intimate and nice atmosphere. Enjoyed the two cocktails we had-- the Gucci Breakfast and Bee's Knees. Server was really nice. Can pay for the check via QR code which was very convenient.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small place but the ambiance is cute and cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The cocktails have such unique names. They were delicious, including the non-alcoholic cocktails. They also look so pretty.

The space downstairs is nicely decorated and very cozy which was just the vibe I was going for. The first drink I ordered was the Pie in the Sky (bourbon, rhubarb amaro, strawberry, lime, and bitters) which was refreshing and delicious. It was the perfect level of sweetness for me since I don't like sweet drinks. My second cocktail of the night was the Peat Forsberg (blended scotch, Islay scotch, lemon, carrot, ginger, and honey). It was gorgeous - pretty orange due to the carrot, and the flavors were a great note to end on. I can't wait to come back and try some of the other drinks (and maybe snacks as well)!

Their menu has a few light bites to snack on but the main focus is the cocktails. Definitely a pricier, fancy spot for a nice occasion or just a memorable cocktail. Hanoi ski club is quite interesting - mix of gin, pandan, green chartreuse, vermouth, and cacao. The combo of flavor from floral, herbal, and earthy sweet was great. This works really well and if you like all those flavors individually, this one is great. Also tried the Chibiusa which was a much more straightforward sweeter drink. Usually very busy due to limited seats, but worth trying to get a spot if there is room available to try their cocktail menu. Thanks read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved everything about this cocktail bar, but I wish it was bigger.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is dark and intimate and the crafted cocktails are unique.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My friends and I were ranting about life and the bartender offered us a free glass of prosecco! I guess she could tell we needed it lol. One of my favorite low key places to have a drink. The caviar bumps are a reasonable price too. read more

We were like 2nd in line ten min before they opened last Sat and were able to get a table on the first floor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It filled up fast.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a cool spot, loved the dark walls and decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was nice. Interesting drink options but I went with their espresso martini which was good. Hubs was adventurous and got a drink with a hint of lamb... he liked it? But I'll just say it was interesting. We were able to snag same day reservations at Andra Hem for pre-dinner drinks and snacks on a Saturday evening. My husband and I were super excited as we've been wanting to check out Andra Hem since last year when it opened. I recall seeing lots of people waiting outside and it being impossible to get a table. Anyway, here we are now. We checked in with the hostess who led us upstairs. The lounge was sexy chic but felt a little too dark for my liking. I was having trouble reading the menu. For drinks, I was between the Lamb washed bourbon and Nothing Beets a Dala Horse. Hearing that was our server's favorite convinced me to go for it. My husband went with the Bee-DSM Coretto. We also shared an order of the potato pancakes. Neither of us were in the mood for Swedish meatballs. A single order of potato pancakes consisted of 3 pancakes, and it came with a micro dill, horse-radish crème dip. It was delicious. Overall, these were well-crafted cocktails. My husband enjoyed his drink, which was a tequila-based cocktail with espresso flavors. Mine tasted super beet-y and healthy. I've never had a beet flavored alcoholic drink before. Sadly, this cocktail might be too exotic for me. I'm glad we were able to check out Andra Hem though. Having our own Scandinavian cocktail lounge here in Philly is super cool. How many cities can say they have their own Scandinavian cocktail lounge? The drinks and small bites were the highlights here, complemented by a cool and trendy atmosphere. The space felt light and inviting, with aesthetic wallpaper that added to its charm. We enjoyed cocktails, warm olives, and sugar-coated nuts, all beautifully presented. The bartender was incredibly friendly and attentive. I tried the 'Stay Grassy, Philadelphia'--a unique cocktail that was clear, with a surprising kick of cacao and mint. The prices were on the higher side, but I'd still highly recommend it. Nice ambience, small bites and familiar cocktails. Complimentary warm olives were served which was good. But... the drinks menu just wasn't exciting enough. The same cocktails with the same variations that everybody is doing these days. I had the "violet! you're turning violet!" and was expecting a pretty violet drink, let's say the drink wasn't close to any shade of purple and tasted like cough syrup. On the contrary, the other drink "nothing beets a dala horse" was definitely quite enjoyable - beets and coconut cream, almost tasted like fresh beet juice - but it is also something I have had before. Unfortunately, this place didn't wow me enough to be back. read more

Made a reservation on Resy to sit at the bar. Loved the outside entrance. Place is small but feels cozy in a chic kinda way. Music is perfect volume. Loved the interior design, especially the wallpaper and picture over the bar. Had the fig cocktail and it was delicious. Didn't like the the high bar still- my feel dangled. Loved hooks under the bar. The bill came wi to a postcard and we sent it to a friend. Would love to return! read more

SUCH a great experience here! The drinks are so creative and fantastic (a little pricier than my usual, but the quality makes it well worth it!). Reservations open up at noon the day of, so set an alarm on your phone! The staff is all great and our server was helpful in recommending drinks. The space itself is really nice. Definitely recommend for a fun night out! read more

Andra hem was a bit of a miss for me. I love the speakeasy style vibe--you'd definitely miss the entrance if you weren't looking for it. But it feels like they may be trying a bit too hard with the menu and decor inside. I always go for adventurous cocktails that I couldn't make at home at places like these, but found some of the builds kind of unbalanced. Sure, when you order a beet juice based cocktail, you do expect a lot of beet, but I found it overwhelming. We came after dinner and it was pretty packed. Tables are cozy, but the service was pretty slow. You're definitely paying premium prices for these drinks too! Inside is very, very dark. I want to try it again when it's less busy; maybe order something a little less adventurous, but at this price point I'm not quite sure it's a home run yet. read more

went here for cocktails and it was lovely. service was quick and our server was kind, she came to the table at appropriate times to not disturb conversation. it's an intimate setting with low lighting and lots of booth seating (which I like). cocktails were good and balanced well. I got the pie in the sky (pictured below) and the Violet! You're turning Violet! We had a snack and got the stöetzel on gf bread and it was savory and has a good salt balance. overall good experience and will go back again to try more foods and cocktails read more

Had a chance to try this place recently and was very pleased. It's right in the thick of things near city hall. Our server, Laura, was fantastic as was our entire experience. We started with some cocktails, warm olives, and the cheeseboard. The BeeDSM Coretto was our first drink but we thought we should have ordered it with dessert, it was rather creamy. Second round we got the Fig Around which was my favorite drink, and went so well with the cheese board, which had 3 nice cheeses and accoutrements. The warm olives surprised me as well, I'm generally not an olive eater but these were really good! Next we got the Swedish meatballs, which are actually mushroom based, and the Pears for Heirs to drink. This was also good, second favorite after the Fig Around. I opted for the dessert of the day and the name unfortunately escapes me, but it was delicious! Amazing space, well decorated with an upstairs dining room and bar/table seating on the first floor. They have their own beehive on the roof and that honey is delicious! read more
THE BEST cocktail lounge I've ever been to in my life!! THE BEST Cocktails EVER! Andra Hem where have you been all my life! I've walked by this place a millions times and never knew it existed! This Scandinavian-inspired cocktail lounge is like a hidden gem of Philly although your looking right at it! As I approached the door it looked like the type of place you need to give a secret knock for exclusive entry. The cocktails here are reminiscent of the Netflix show Drink Master and are Drink Master worthy! Andra Hem gave me so much more than I was expecting from start to finish.. the ambiance...the mixology....the aromatics ...the servers. Intimate chill vibes here. Everything was top notch. I ordered the Lambhattan which is a lamb fat washed bourbon cocktail. It was very intriguing to me, I had never had a cocktail like that before so I gave it a go. The lamb fat added a very savory flavor to the cocktail. It was so amazing i ordered it three times and each time it was spot on. The cocktails here are consistent and truly perfected. Went to Andra Hem for drinks before dinner last night and really enjoyed our time. - Setting is great. Love the speakeasy-tucked away outdoor vibes, and a really nice interior as well. Dark lighting makes it an amazing date spot. - Drinks are really good. Lengthy menu and talented staff. - Only real qualm would be the prices (they're ridiculous) but that's kind of a part of the deal and expectations IMO. Love it here!! read more
