Time for an update. I need to comment on how good this happy hour is. This Friday I made my way here and met my bestie and my middle daughter here at 4pm. The bar was already filled up, but we managed to snag seats (it gets crowded for a reason). . Kat, the bartender made our experience so very good! She started off by recommending the onion crepes, and honestly this is the best thing I've eaten in a while. It was like eating French onion soup but gooey-er wrapped in a crepe. Delicious! I always get the burger and their fries are some of the best around. The bar (as I said) was crowded, but Kat was attentive and lovely and made us delicious cocktails! She is a star here. And this place is a good place to be on a Friday night!

I went for a happy hour alone and had a peaceful time. I have found that being by myself, I sometimes get rushed out or neglected but here I felt neither was the case. Bar tenders were polite and swift. I had a nice glass of red wine I forget what it was. It was very decent. The chicken sandwich was delicious, crispy and not dry. The Mac and cheese was quite good was well. The bar was nice and vibey and overall I will definitely be back.

Vibes: relaxed but elevated; bring a friend or a few to sit at the bar or mixed seating Tasting notes: - Beet salad: good size chunks of sweet, earthy beets; more so shareable between two people - Parker rolls: buttery and classic; enjoyed the chunky onion butter - Onion crepes: French onion soup in crepe form complete with the crispy melted cheese over super sweet caramelized onions - Filet: charred on the outside made for slight toughness but interior was cooked medium rare as ordered; accompanying mustard sauce cut through the butteriness of the meat; appreciated the refreshing greens - Creamed corn: kernels were plump and sweet; sauce was cheesy and rich - Fries: on the thinner side and perfectly crisp, served piping hot Other thoughts: - Service was friendly, though a bit slow. We got our appetizers before drinks even though the drinks were ordered before food - Three appetizers and two sides were enough along with an entree each for a group of five moderately hungry adults Impression: food was solid, but no particular highlights

Our server, Rhiana, was super attentive. We had oysters, beef tartare, Crab & Caviar Roll, and mini beef wellington, as well as the onion crepes. All were excellent! The onion crepes were our favorite. The cocktails were decently priced and tasted quite nice! Loved the general vibe of the restaurant, dimly lit and romantic. Great place to go!

First time at The Lesieur, and we went for happy hour. We had a really good time! The inside is dimly light and cozy (I feel like there was a variety of seating options), the servers were super nice, and the happy hour drinks and small plates were delicious. We each got a raspberry daiquiri, which came with a foam on top and was sweet; it's good if you're like me and would prefer to taste less of the alcohol. Between two people, we shared an onion crepe, Mac and cheese, and fries. All three things were well seasoned and decent sizes - we were finished and were happily full. Although we didn't try anything off their dinner menu, I definitely think the happy hour is worth it.

Bar Lesieur was on my friends list of "gotta try" and therefore....WE WENT! The atmosphere is dim, lush, sexy- french vibe accomplished! I HAD to try their specialty espresso martini which had coconut rum in it...oh lawd, was that delish! Highly recommend for all you coconut lovers out there. We started with 4 appetizers. Half we loved, half we were unimpressed by. The banger of the bunch was the french onion crepes. I've been thinking about them since trying them. Imagine french onion soup rolled into a crepe. Really, what could be bad?! We also tried the octopus which was also delicious. Perfectly tender with a lovely citrus bite. As for our not so faves of the bunch: the shrimp dumplings and wedge salad. The dumplings lacked seasoning...they had potential but the flavor majorly fell flat. While I didn't try the wedge, the deconstruction was not what the rest of our group was expecting, nor did they enjoy. For mains: we all got something different. I got the chicken, J got the wagyu short rib, Bets got the filet, and Justin got the salmon. The chicken and salmon were mid. J's wagyu short rib was pretty tasty and Betsy was happy with her filet as well! And for sides we tried the cauliflower au gratin and roasted mushrooms which both really rounded out the meal nicely! Would totally have those again if we ever return. Service was great and prices were honestly decent considering the amount of food we ordered. $160/couple- not so shabby!

We went for happy hour on our anniversary. It was our first impression and we will definitely return for a full dinner. The ambiance is great. Very dark and moody. The 2 happy hour cocktails were delicious, one much sweeter than the other but good for both preferences. We had 4 happy hour bites and each were a decent size. We split the burger, chicken sandwich, croquettes and fries and were satisfied, not overly full. The chicken sandwich was a little messy with the vegetables falling out, and the croquettes needed something, maybe salt? The fries were a little disappointing, the table next to us called them "McDonalds" fries which was accurate. The dipping sauce was nice though. They brought us a slice of cake with a sparkler for our anniversary, which wasn't the best slice but still a nice touch that we weren't expecting. We did want a real dessert though so we ordered the lemon tart, which turned out to be key lime that night and it was delicious! All in all, we are excited to try the actual dinner menu!

Came for happy hour, there were some seats at the bar but filled up quick. I enjoyed the raspberry beret. The mac and cheese was one of the best I've ever had. If was going straight home I would've gotten it to go. Service was a bit of a miss for me I feel like I had to wait a good while to ask for the check or to even get checked in on. Otherwise it was great.

Celebrating our last evening in Philadelphia at this beautiful restaurant

Mark and I found this place on Yelp. I will start by stating that food and service exceeded our expectations. It's an easy walk from the city hall and surrounding hotels. The entrance is shared with Giuseppe & Sons Restaurant. The dining area is spectacular and transported us to an elegant restaurant in France. We timed our visit for the Happy Hour which is available on Saturdays from 4pm-6pm. We ordered the mushroom toast, beef tartare, salmon tartare, fries with dijonaisse, crispy chicken sandwiches, the $42 lobster special, plus dirty martinis and queen bee cocktails. Everything was outstanding! Stephanie was our server and was super friendly and efficient. We had a great time chatting with other patrons while enjoying the delicious food and drinks. Bathrooms were beautiful, clean and elegant. We want to come back to Philadelphia just to eat and drink here again. We highly recommend this restaurant!!

Loved loved loved this spot. First time here, we enjoyed a lovely happy hour with some tasty vittles & cocktails. The gin cocktail was delicious and the beer on draft was very balanced. This place is a vibe, I got classy antique old skool Parisian lounge vibes but that's just me. Bartender, she was very lovely, attentive and accommodating. Definitely worth checking out. You can go straight from work there.

A little tricky to find, but once you get inside the ambiance is wonderful. A dark and warm atmosphere with very nicely decorated rooms. Also some tables with sofas for a more relaxed dinner. They have a happy hour menu with some great food options, and their regular menu also has some good things I'd like to try next time. Mac n cheese was wonderful and an excellent deal, great to share. Mushroom toast also was tasty. Drinks were well put together as well. Definitely worth stopping in and adding this place to your rotation. Thanks

One of the best dining and service experiences I've had in a while. A friend and I went for an early dinner during happy hour and restaurant week--a winning combination! This allowed us to try a variety of offerings, including the Onion Crepes, Shrimp Dumplings, Brussels sprouts, and steak frites. The Onion Crepes were my favorite, as they were such a unique take on French onion soup. There were a number of drinks on the happy hour menu, which allowed us to try a variety of cocktails, wines, and beers. Our server, Bryan, was very attentive, always making sure we had whatever we needed. The crème brûlée was the perfect way to finish the meal.

I went here during Center City Sips and have been dying to go back ever since. The ambience is inviting sophisticated happy hour prices are reasonable and the food was fresh. Happy hour times 4-6!

My family and I got breakfast at Enswell during our stay in Philadelphia. This swanky, hip place…read moreoffers up elevated tasty food and superb service in an exquisitely decorated, albeit small, cafe. We braved negative degree weather for the roughly 10 minute walk from our hotel. We walked in at a good time. This is the type of place where a reservation for breakfast would be required. We were sat immediately. The dining area is tight. A green velvet bench, marble tables, metal chairs, all packed into a small area. You could very well have your butt brush over the table of the patrons next to you if you have to get up for any reason. It's tight. Our server was around quickly. He was super friendly and kept things conversational, light and sophisticated. My wife ordered an iced latte, I had their hot drip coffee. For a starter, we had to try the cinnamon knot bread. While it wasn't what we were expecting, it was good. Although, we wouldn't order again. The bread is presented as a small loaf, room temperature with a cold cream cheese icing drizzled over top. The bread had a mild cinnamon flavor and was dry. It lacked the sweet, moist dough you expect from a cinnamon bread. My wife ordered the French style omelet. This had gruyere cheese and chives. Beautifully plated, perfectly cooked and the taste was spot on. It was good enough to forget that she paid $21 for just an omelet, no meat, no sides. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. Pretty standard here. The eggs had bright orange yolks which is common for farm fresh eggs. The "coffee" hollandaise didn't come across with a coffee flavor but it was rich and went well with the ham and English muffins. One thing that stuck with me was their drip coffee. Not sure if it has been a while since I had a light roast but the Rival Bros. Revolver coffee was so good, I got a bag of whole beans to bring back home with me. I may even order it again online. Enswell succeeded on all fronts. The ambiance and service was great. The decor, impeccable. The food, thoughtful and tasty. The details from the silverware to the plates added to the experience. We would come back.

I thought this place was very cute. Outdoor limited seating…read moreand indoor area as well. The appeal was to get a quick read in amd have my pup with me. I felt like I ordered the wrong combination. I was able to do an egg sandwich and swap for sourdough bread vs eng muffin. Love that. Didn't love the copper sharp cheese that was a bit messy and tangy. I kept thinking they must have added some type of sauce on it. I'd much rather come back for a simple fried egg combo and chedda cheese. I was also offered sparkling water, but I do wish it had more fizz. The service start to finish was superb in friendly and fast service. I'd come back for mimosa/bar for sure.
