Had a great meal! Dishes were pretty and tasted just as good. I really enjoyed my duck

Named in honor of the legendary Leopold Stokowski, music director of the Philadelphia Orchestra from 1912 to 1941, Leo recently made its debut in the Kimmel Center space formerly occupied by the late Volver. Leo had been open a scant nine days when my dining partner and I paid a call. The first thing we noticed were the subtle changes in décor, which added a pleasantly soft touch to the previous ambiance. And the restaurant's powers-that-be had obviously decided to hit the ground running, as both the food and the service proved to be right on the money. The cuisine, described as "global with a Mediterranean twist," is basically inspired by Executive Chef Chris Cryer's worldwide travels and zealously enriched with seasonal locally-sourced ingredients. Sounds good, doesn't it...? And it tastes even better. Just one caveat... The menu is rather esoteric in nature and will definitely not appeal to the diehard meat & potatoes crowd. It may also, upon occasion, send even the most sophisticated diner in search of a gastronomic glossary. We began with the Hiramasa and Lettuces, respectively. The former is the Japanese name for the high-quality sashimi grade Yellowtail Kingfish, which is farm-raised under the strictest standards. In point of fact, the fish is so highly regarded in Japan that it is hand-packed in order to avoid bruising. Its pale pink flesh is firm of texture and offers diners a sweet, rich flavor. At Leo it was companioned by slices of pomelo (a citrus fruit native to southeast Asia that has the taste of sweet grapefruit), artichoke, and Castelvetrano olive (a variety of green olive grown in Sicily and famous for its mild, buttery flavor, meaty texture, and bright green color). A definite winner in every respect. Lettuces certainly sounded innocent enough... The presentation, however, as you will note from the photo, was captivatingly colorful; and it only took one bite to realize that texture and taste were right on target as well. Seasoned breadcrumbs, morsels of candied citrus fruit, and a zippy bell pepper sauce added their own unique contributions... but it was the incomparably delicious smooth-as-silk whipped feta cheese that not only succeeded in ameliorating the roughage but also in providing diners with an extremely satisfying gastronomic gestalt. Moving on to the entrées, our piscatorial pursuits continued with the Yellowfin Tuna. Seared until seductively rare of countenance, it arrived at table swimming in a Madeira sauce supplemented with charred leek, hazelnuts, and trout roe. A triumph of both taste and texture. The Ricotta Dumplings were presented in a creamy Italian sauce infused with taleggio, a cheese known for its smooth texture and delightfully tangy flavor, accompanied by morels and rainbow chard, and crowned with a parmesan crisp. This culinary combo was, in a word, extradinarily delicious... It was also, I would hasten to add, incredibly rich and quite filling. So, unless you happen to possess the appetite - and the capacity - of a starving yak, you can count on departing with a rather ample doggie bag in tow. Dessert choices are extremely limited... After much debate - and I freely confess that I would have preferred the Walnut Cake with white chocolate and toasted vanilla ice cream - my dining partner and I eventually decided to share the Chocolate Caramel. As it turned out, the laced with caramel smooth-as-silk mascarpone and chocolate mousse sandwiched between slices of crispy chocolate turned out to be a delightfully delicious choice. In the meantime, a word about prices... They do represent, in my opinion, pretty much the going rate for upscale Center City restaurants. Appetizers peak at $21.00 for Roasted Shrimp and Foie Gras; and main courses range from $28.00 for Ricotta Dumplings to $41.00 for the Flat Iron Steak. There is also a pre-theater menu priced at $45.00 per person. This may seem like a real bargain... but it is not. First of all, your choices are very limited. Secondly, that $45.00 price tag includes appetizer and entrée only. If you want dessert, that will set you back another $12.00 or $13.00. Then you add on a few other accoutrements, tax and tip. See what I mean? My dining partner and I recently traveled the pre-theater menu route; so, permit me to add up the bad news for you. We each enjoyed a single pre-prandial libation, shared a dessert (as noted above), and ordered coffee and tea, respectively. With tax and tip, the total check exceeded the $150.00 mark. Is the food worth it...? Yes, in my opinion (although I do think that our cocktails and some of the bottled wines are significantly overpriced). Just be prepared for a major assault on your pocketbook.

Great service, great flavors. We appreciated them asking if we had a show afterwards to keep us on time.

We loved everything from the first delicious fig cocktail to the last dessert. We were a party of six, and we literally ordered the entire menu. We had all six appetizers, all six dinners, and all three desserts. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. There was not a thing we ate that was not perfectly executed and would not be ordered again.

I really love this restaurant! It was so unexpectedly amazing. I am a super foodie with a sophisticated palette. I take my food very seriously. This restaurant totally blew me away. From the start, I usually grade restaurants on their bread service. This bread came out warm with delicious sweet and salty butter. The lettuces with whipped feta were so bright and delicious! The heirloom tomatoes were perfectly executed with a touch heat. The beets with tahini and chili was such an awesome combination. The grilled shrimp was perfectly cooked. We also really enjoyed the duck breast with grilled peaches, not sure how they grilled the peaches so perfectly so that they were still crispy. Some kind of magic chef art! The pasta with crab was awesome. Desserts was tasty as well- personal favorite was the polenta cake. Everything was solid and delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

We braved negative degree weather for the roughly 10 minute walk from our hotel. We walked in at a good time. This is the type of place where a reservation for breakfast would be required. We were sat immediately. The dining area is tight. A green velvet bench, marble tables, metal chairs, all packed into a small area. You could very well have your butt brush over the table of the patrons next to you if you have to get up for any reason. It's tight. Our server was around quickly. He was super friendly and kept things conversational, light and sophisticated. My wife ordered an iced latte, I had their hot drip coffee. For a starter, we had to try the cinnamon knot bread. While it wasn't what we were expecting, it was good. Although, we wouldn't order again. The bread is presented as a small loaf, room temperature with a cold cream cheese icing drizzled over top. The bread had a mild cinnamon flavor and was dry. It lacked the sweet, moist dough you expect from a cinnamon bread. My wife ordered the French style omelet. This had gruyere cheese and chives. Beautifully plated, perfectly cooked and the taste was spot on. It was good enough to forget that she paid $21 for just an omelet, no meat, no sides. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. Pretty standard here. The eggs had bright orange yolks which is common for farm fresh eggs. The "coffee" hollandaise didn't come across with a coffee flavor but it was rich and went well with the ham and English muffins. One thing that stuck with me was their drip coffee. Not sure if it has been a while since I had a light roast but the Rival Bros. Revolver coffee was so good, I got a bag of whole beans to bring back home with me. I may even order it again online. Enswell succeeded on all fronts. The ambiance and service was great. The decor, impeccable. The food, thoughtful and tasty. The details from the silverware to the plates added to the experience. We would come back.

I felt like I ordered the wrong combination. I was able to do an egg sandwich and swap for sourdough bread vs eng muffin. Love that. Didn't love the copper sharp cheese that was a bit messy and tangy. I kept thinking they must have added some type of sauce on it. I'd much rather come back for a simple fried egg combo and chedda cheese. I was also offered sparkling water, but I do wish it had more fizz. The service start to finish was superb in friendly and fast service. I'd come back for mimosa/bar for sure.

From the moment you step inside, the ambiance wraps around you like a gentle welcome. Soft lighting, warm wood tones, and a subtle hum of conversation create an atmosphere that feels both intimate and effortlessly comfortable. It's the kind of space where you can settle in immediately, whether you're meeting a friend or savoring a quiet moment alone. The most recent time, I enjoyed the short bread sandwich--DELICIOUS horseradish cream. They have GREAT N/A drink options. I love their cheesecake. The service is consistently gracious without ever feeling over-rehearsed. Staff members greet you with genuine warmth, offering thoughtful recommendations and an easy attentiveness that enhances the experience without intruding on it. There's a natural flow to the way they interact--always available when you need them, never hovering--and it reflects a team that clearly takes pride in making guests feel at home. What truly elevates Tria Rittenhouse, though, is its beautiful design. Every detail seems considered: the artful arrangement of tables, the textures of the furnishings, even the way the bar anchors the room with understated elegance. The design strikes a balance between sophistication and approachability, creating a space that feels curated yet never pretentious. It's visually inviting in a way that encourages lingering, whether you're enjoying a glass of wine or simply taking in the surroundings. All together, the warm ambiance, gracious service, and thoughtfully crafted design make Tria Rittenhouse a place that's easy to return to again and again. It's the kind of spot that reminds you how a well-designed environment and genuinely welcoming service can transform a simple outing into something memorable.

We also got a cheeseboard to share, which was bigger than the server made it sound and not bad for a little snack between the 5 of us. Overall nothing was super special, but it was a nice spot to stop in and have a drink and a bite. Would consider coming back if I'm killing time in the area.

The tasting menu had three tiers you could choose from- $35, $45, and $55/person. We chose the $55/person option which included the full menu of tapas as well as dessert. They pick the most popular dishes to bring out to the table but also allow you to request any specifically that you'd like. By the end of night, we had a TON of food, even more than we could finish, and ended up trying at least 15 different dishes. All the food was great, with some of my favorites being the eggplant caponata (cold, very flavorful), scallops a la plancha, jamon & manchego croquetas, spiced beef empanadas, and the paellas. Favorite dessert was the chocolate cake, but we were received all the desserts other than the ice cream and sorbet. I may have liked the food experience less if I had ordered off the regular menu and only tried a few small plate, but I loved the option of trying so many dishes. By the time we finished everything, we had been there for over 3 hours (including lots of wine of course), which was really fun! The place gets packed on a Saturday night so we would not have gotten in without a reservation.

The staff were immediately sympathetic, super friendly and helpful. Of course, as if I wasn't embarrassed enough, as soon as the 3 year old washed his hands, he shouted "I'm hungry" (is this sort of human I'm raising?). We were already in a restaurant so why not. Before being seated or looking at the menu, I asked for some fries to be put in and the waitress offered some chicken tenders. After finally looking over the menu, I don't think these are regular offerings so I appreciated them trying to be accommodating to a frazzled parent at dinner time. My vegan mother in law joined us and we were pleased that there were so many options for her. My absolute favourite (such that I had to order another round) was the eggplant caponata - perfectly sweet with a little bit of spice. It was so warm and comforting - exactly what I want at the end of a long cold day. My MIL's fav were the Brussels sprouts - they had a tang reminiscent of buffalo sauce and were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, textured heaven (extra bonus points for the 3 year old absolutely LOVING them - he redeemed himself). If you like hummus, try the spinach and chick pea cazuela. Squash is in season so I knew it was going to be delightful - the pomegranate was a combination that was new to me, but it didn't disappoint. We didn't try the roasted carrots (because my household is all carroted out for the moment) but someone one table over was gushing over them. As a meat eater, I have to say that the non meat tapas were standouts - I tried the empanadas, they were fine; I didn't enjoy the meatballs and I just wanted to order more of the eggplant caponata. All in all, I would definitely come back, maybe for drinks with friends or date night. The drink list looked inviting and nothing says intimacy like mood lighting and shared plates. The price (without alcohol) was very approachable - for $80 a vegan, a 3 year old and a frazzled mom left satiated.

The White Claw is a pretty classic white pizza, mozzarella and swirls of basil pesto; the crust is amazing! It pairs perfectly with the salad. The ricotta toast is decadent and addicting, but a little bit goes a long way. The chocolate budino was outstanding - sweet, with hints of espresso.
