    Banana split cocktail
    Stan H.

Llamita Vegana pop-up was here and I had the sampler platter- Mac, shepherd's pie, beans, kale, other - all vegan and gf. Two fellow Eliters were nice and interested to join me. The food was quality and I personally loved every bit. Llamita might be on par with Vedge for me as one of my favorite vegan places. I also had the grasshopper and an Amaro which is a banana cocktail that uses a dry banana and some spices and it works so well. I would love it if they addd a grasshopper cookie to their grasshopper cocktail.

Second time here. This time the aging of whiskey completed and was bottled. Not only are their cocktails carefully crafted, but also detailed and delicious. their whiskey is refined and carries great flavors as well. I grabbed a bottle of their rye and love every sip.

Drinks were amazing, the bartender was wonderful he described and explained every drink with back stories and explained the flavor profiles so well. Inside of the bar was beautiful rounded ceiling, local art on walls, a sleek but warm and inviting space! Highly recommend.

Espresso martini is amazing here!! Love to stop by when I'm eating in the area! All the bartenders make sure that you not just have a drink, but LOVE your drink. They always ask for feedback and will remake drinks if it's not to your liking. AND all cocktails are crafted with love and care, highly recommend

I had stopped in here a little while back and really loved it, so while doing a little "tour" for my bday I asked to come here with a few friends. They now love this place too. The people working there are great and friendly- they treated us really well. The drinks are really crafted well. We really appreciated their clear ice for old fashions which they special order! The vibe and space there is really nice. Their candied bacon was DELICIOUS. Thanks for a really fun time and for taking the time to make delicious shots for us. :) I'll def be visiting here more when we cross the bridge to hang out. :)

Drinks were great and staff was super friendly! The architecture and design of the place is also really cool. Will definitely be returning soon!

Delicious cocktails. Good vibes. Friendly staff. Bring your own food. Gets pretty busy. That is all.

Four Humours is an incredible cocktail bar! My group tried about 6 different cocktails, and all were amazing. My favorite was the Clover Club, but other noteworthy ones were the Bacon Old Fashioned and the Velvet Remedy. That said, you really can't go wrong with any of these. The snacks were delicious too, and service was super friendly. The overall ambiance was fairly quiet, at least on a Sunday afternoon. Prices were super reasonable for the quality and taste. I'll definitely be planning to return the next time I'm in Philly.

Can Yelp let me give 6 stars just one time? We LOVED visiting Four Humours. When we arrived the bartenders helped us find a seat at the bar. We happened to be right in front of the head bartenders work area. When we went to order I got a recommendation to try, Son of Man. It was a delicious drink made with care. Throughout our time there, we had conversations with the bartender and he even let us sample an Amaro we saw on the shelves (on the house), and gave us good mixology tips because of my fiancés interest. One of the most notable things about this bar is the ingredients they use, they source local and high quality ingredients to make their drinks. I wish I lived across the street to come here all the time. The vibe of the bar was classy but fun, everyone was enjoying themselves and the bar was a super nice setup--very long and held a lot of people.

Being a whiskey fan, I love to hit up local distilleries. Because they were short staffed during my visit, I wasn't able to tour the facility, so I toured the old fashioned menu, instead. Great variety of offerings, nothing too "mixologist" and a few more traditional offerings. And I always appreciate a nice ice cube!

A1 cocktails in the cutest little venue. Casual yet sophisticated. Local but metropolitan scale drinks. Four Humours offers the perfect ambiance. The staff is friendly and sociable. I visited on Sunday around brunch (2pm) and we didn't wait longer than 5-10 mins for a cocktail. I'd imagine at a busier time or day the wait may be a little longer, since there isn't a ton of people working. Look forward to frequenting this 4H often

Super fresh cocktails! I've been on a cocktail tour lately and this is my favorite location in fishtown/ old Kensington so far. My first time here and will certainly be back!

I am newly 21, and I went here with my family for a fun night out! honestly, I don't really enjoy the taste of alcohol. but, the drinks here are amazing. I had the velvet remedy, which was the perfect sweet drink for me. we got an order of mini pickles (delicious) and the deviled eggs. it was my first time trying those, and I loved them. the vibes were great, and the staff gave us shots on the house. i really don't like shots, but these were great. I think they had honey in them.

You'd be unlikely to find this unless you knew to look for it. The main feature of this bar is the cocktail menu; it's creative and ambitious and yet very approachable, with helpful adjectives for each cocktail. The Mango Sticky Rice made my jaw drop; not only did the juicy mango come through, but also somehow a sense of starchiness, while being entirely balanced with the liquor. Definitely some of the best cocktails in Philly. And the music and vibe is so cozy but lively; the live records spinning create a warm atmosphere that is not sleepy nor dancey, instead you'll find yourself tapping your feet and swaying in your seat while in deep conversation or just enjoyable contemplation. I have to shout out Carl and Brianna, who made our evening especially unforgettable. They guided us seamlessly through the menu, were so knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. They really made 48 Record Bar feel like a second home we can't wait to return to. Last thing- the bathroom setup was such a fun surprise, you have to check it out!!

Huge bar, giant wall of liquor bottles, dim lighting, and a cool old-school vibe. I told the bartender that ordering a beer in a place like this felt like I was insulting him. He laughed and told me not to worry about it. The drink special was called "Naked and Famous," which honestly sounded like the perfect cocktail to order in honor of Jen. But then I spotted a dark beer on the menu that sounded too good to pass up. If you follow me, you know I'm slowly becoming a dark beer guy. I liked it a lot. The sandwich special was a cheesesteak. Sorry, I should've taken a picture of the menu. But I really enjoyed it, and for $18 it came with a mountain of seasoned fries, which feels like a bargain these days. Bomb Shell: the two people working absolutely crushed it. I don't know if they were understaffed or if Monday night got busier than expected, but they were working their tails off the entire time. Even with that, they stayed polite, friendly, helpful, and incredibly accommodating to the guy carrying around a mannequin. Great visit to Sassafras!

I ordered guacamole and chips for appetizers and it came out right away. The chips are fresh and not stale. Good amount of guacamole. Street corn aka elote. The corn is juicy. Unfortunately, it was not enrobed with mayo and cotija cheese as a typical elote should be. Fried plantain: not many slices. They are dry and not sweet . I was hoping for more ripe plantain Birria tacos: small tacos, the consommé lacks of depth of flavor. I could only taste saltines. The waiter asked if I wanted rice and beans. I said only beans. It's basically mashed refried beans. I wasn't aware that it costs extra $4. My husband ordered this dish served in half pineapple. It has chorizo and shrimp. Again , lacking depth of flavor, very salty. Service was great. The staff is friendly. Credit card is accepted but with a fee. There's an ATM if you prefer to pay with cash.

Unlike others, we felt the portions were not too small. Overall a very respectable dinner showing from Almanac. I kind of regret ordering a pre fixed cocktail because his Omakase was so on point to what he asked for and was delicious. I love rhubarb and Gin is my usual spirt of choice, so I didn't want to pass up the Hanamachi Rikki, but while I found the tart rhubarb refreshing, it fell flat when placed next to the Omakase. While I enjoyed the music choices, he did not and it was also INCREDIBLY dark/moody which isn't our preference, but makes sense for the intimate vibe they are clearly going for.

It is intimate, friendly, down-to-earth, and totally unique. I don't visit Philly as often as I'd like (I live in NYC but grew up here) and while I'm always keeping up with dining scene, it's rare and thus special when I get to put a space to the name, so the speak. Next of Kin has a quirky, playful, impressively creative menu with drinks that are memorable. We came here at around 10:30pm on a Saturday night after dinner. There was a bit of a line outside which moved slowly, but we were given cute champagne jello shot things for our patience which were delightful and a fun little preview of what to expect on the inside. The seating options consist of tables, bar, and what I believe they call "love pods", all of which are beautifully designed. We were seated at the bar, which is our preference anyway. I always like chatting with the bartenders and hearing about the craft, and it is particularly enjoyable when they're as friendly and generous as the folks who work here. We were talking to them about some of their infusions and they let us try a taste of the coconut mezcal and the bruleed banana infused rum and both were unreal on their own. We ended up getting the Coco Bello (coconut mezcal, apertif, aromatized wine) which is a white negroni variation and the Swamp Thang (green chartreuse, herbal liqueur, pineapple and poblano tepache), which was served in some particularly memorable glassware (pictured). Both drinks were exceptional and complex, the former more sophisticated and the latter wacky and wholly unique.

With the help of Yelp, we found this place. First off, the building that houses National Mechanics is absolutely beautiful inside and out, and for good reason. The pub/restaurant occupies the old Mechanics National Bank, a majestic Greek Revival building, built in 1836. Inside the restaurant, the surroundings contrasted greatly with the outside. The large, primarily wooden interior has the feel of a vintage pub. It is equally as beautiful as the front. The service at National Mechanics was great. Though the staff was clearly running shorthanded, every employee we came into contact with served us with a smile and couldn't be friendlier. The food, at least on that day, was mediocre at best, unfortunately. While the menu was filled with all sorts of tempting dishes that already made us thinking of future visits, we opted for the Mexican Burger and the Ribeye Cheesesteak, two twists on old pub standbys. Sadly, we were both disappointed in our meals. We did start off on a bright spot, food-wise. My friend and I opted to share the Batter-Fried Pickled Green Beans, which were fabulous! Too bad the good food ended there... The description of the Mexican Burger sounded amazing, with avocado, pico de gallo, pickled jalapeños, Monterrey Jack cheese, and chipotle mayo. My friend said it was kind of bland and it was quite greasy. My ribeye cheesesteak did not match well with its "Amoroso" roll and the steak itself was dry. In the end, we were both disappointed in our choice in a lunch spot. Perhaps it was the large crowd of diners and little staff that made it all come out a little...off. In the end, I'd try National Mechanics again if I were in the area, as the atmosphere and service made it a cool spot to dine in. Hopefully the food will be better next time.
