On to the next one, this was my final Philly cheesesteak experience during my trip to Philadelphia. I am happy that I came here because this was the best Philly cheesesteak I had! The cheesesteak I ordered was topped with provolone cheese and fired onions. I loved the sesame seed hoagie bun! It was fresh and toasted; it had the perfect crunch to it with every bite. The provolone cheese was all over, but it was all over in a good way. There was an even amount of cheese distributed throughout all 10" of the sandwich. The fried onions were cooked at a not so super crunchy state. I was incredibly happy that the fried onions were cooked better because the three other places I went to lightly cooked their fried onions at a crunchy state. I was beginning to think that was the norm. But PrimoHoagies cooked them just the way I like it! PrimoHoagies also has exceptional customer service! I was hugely impressed with how kind the cashier and cook were to me. Both ladies Both ladies greeted me as I walked into the restaurant. Both were helpful with the menu. They did not try to rush me into ordering. They were both respectful and treated me right, and I appreciate that. Because of both the delicious cheesesteak and the exceptional customer service here, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. For what Primo is, it's top notch. Many different hoagies to choose from, fresh cut meats, ample portions, good bread. And the staff at this location has always been nice, which scores brownie points. That said, the menu is long. Trying to figure out the differences between some variations on similar sandos isn't that easy. And the online ordering system, especially when using a mobile device, isn't exactly the best experience. I have less problems when using a desktop computer. This digital experience is what makes me knock off a star. If they improve this, I would easily up my rating! read more

Great Sandwiches! We were in the area looking for a bite to eat. I was all cheesesteak'd out over the weekend and wanted something different. We noticed that Primo HOagies was open. As soon as we walked in, we saw the massive menu with the endless variety of sandwiches. We decided to go with the classic italian and a chicken cutlet sandwich. One of the two staff members there took our ordered. HE was helpful and patient. The other made the sandwiches, which took longer than expected, especially since we were the only ones in there at the time (But then again maybe they had internet/phone orders). They sell other prepackages items such as olives and desserts. They also have a variety of beverages. The sandwiches were very good. Fresh ingredients and very flavorful. Prices are fair given how dense the sandwiches are...they are not cheap/skimpy with the meats. About $8ish for small (6") and $10-11 for regular (9"or so). Highly recommended...huge variety. I recently moved to Philadelphia and have never eaten at Primo Hoagies before. I went to the location on 3rd and Market Street (Old City) on July 9, 2021. When I arrived at approximately 7:40 PM, I was told that they were no longer excepting orders after 7:30 PM. I understand this completely (because they closed at 8 PM), however when I called ahead at 7:15 PM to place a phone order for pick up (I have the time stamp on my phone) I was told that they did not except phone orders AT ALL and that you could only come in person to place an order for food. That is why I went to the location to try to place an order. When I heard that information prior to my arrival at the Old City location about not being able to place a phone order, I found it odd, but I took it as the truth. The woman at the register told me that they do indeed take phone orders but that all orders cease at 7:30 PM. I now realize that whoever I spoke to when I called at 7:15 PM lied to me about not being able to place orders over the phone for pick up. I completely understand the policy of orders not being placed after 7:30 PM, but I am mostly upset that I was lied to about the ability to place orders over the phone. This lack of integrity makes me want to never attempt to eat at this restaurant again...and I was really excited to eat here, too. read more

I order my hoagie online and for pickup to make sure they got it right at the market street location because of past order mistakes. I drove there and paid to park. Picked up my Mild Italian hoagie and drive home. BIG MISTAKE TASTE YOUR ORDER WHILE IN THE STORE. THEY PUT HOT MEAT NOT MILD. I cannot eat it so I called. They never offered a refund, or to send a delivery out which they claim they don't have. Told m to drive back, pay to park, bring this hoagie back and they would make me another hoagie. Thanks to Primos, I had the easiest time hosting book club, ever! I called Primos the morning of, and they kindly accommodated my less-than-24-hours advance notice to put together a hoagie and cookie tray for me. (Whew!) After work I stopped by to pick everything up and grab some side dishes (the coleslaw and macaroni salad were top notch) and the gentlemen working there were so kind and thoughtful that they tracked down a box to package everything into because they were worried it would be too unwieldy for me to carry otherwise. When I got home, all I had to do was pop the top off the hoagie tray and put serving utensils into the side-dishes and condiments. (Primos also thoughtfully included all fixings; mayo, onions, peppers, oil, etc., on the side. This way nothing arrived soggy, and everyone could customize their sandwich.) I was ready for my guests well before their arrival time, no muss, no fuss! Based off the sparse remnants, it appears that this food selection was EXTREMELY well received. (The veggie-sandwich got the most compliments, but everything was delicious. Cookie assortment basically vanished before my eyes.) I'm glad that book club enjoyed this meal, because based off all contributing factors -- this is what they're going to be getting for dinner every time I host in the future. We ordered over 10 sandwiches from this location today. After an hour and a half, we called to check the status on the delivery only to find out from the extremely rude employee on the phone (Crystal) that the sandwiches had not been picked up by the delivery driver yet. Instead of even attempting to help, Crystal was rude, laughed at our aggravation and frustration with the situation. We cancelled the order and placed another order from the Fishtown primos (which has significantly better Yelp reviews for a reason-Crystal doesn't work there) and the sandwiches are already on the way. Terrible service. They staff with young kids who do not know what they are doing. I had to go back twice and they still got it wrong. Can you imagine, they made a hoagie without lettuce, tomato, onion, seasoning, oil/vinegar on it. That was my Audiablo, which I found out about after going back for a second time to get my other sandwich, which they forgot. They placed me on hold for 10 minutes and never came back to the phone when I tried to call and then they stopped answering the phone. The sandwiches are decent but the service is awful. Can't believe I was charged for this fiasco. There is no leadership there, which is why this store is run so poorly. They have no common sense, no customer service skills, and no understanding of how their mistakes make a terrible impression on the business. If the people can't handle it, the manager should be onsite. This is why other restaurants, which were only a few stores away, went out of business. I previously stopped in here when it first opened and the owner was working and said he was really excited and was super friendly. Service was great. However -- this past weekend I was heading to the Eagles tailgate and my boyfriend and I thought it would be a good idea to bring some hoagies with us for later in the day. We tried to call the number, it was beeping busy non-stop. Finally I opted to order online via the Primos website. The ordering experience was super easy actually. My receipt said the order would be ready in 25 minutes. 25 minutes later I arrived at Primos. There were only 3 employees working (which I found strange on such a big game day). I walked to the register, told the cashier that I had ordered online and was here to pickup my 2 hoagies. She looked blankly at me and started to groan and turned around to talk to the other 2 employees. After about 2 minutes she came back to me and told me that my hoagies hadn't been made yet. Also, there were 2 men who just walked into the place who were standing waiting for their hoagies. I am not kidding -- it took the 3 employees 25 minutes to finally make my hoagies AFTER they made the other 2 customers'. I must say, the 3 employees seemed clueless and extremely disorganized, but the hoagies were great taste wise. The experience made me very angry as I ordered online for a reason so I DIDN'T have to stand there forever waiting. Thankfully the employees apologized for the delay as they should have, but I was still very disappointed. Also -- it was SO HOT inside the store I had to repeatedly walk outside to give my boyfriend an update and to get some fresh air. It felt like a sauna. I loved that this Primos opened due to its location, but I am not sure I will be back. First primos has good hoagies. I lived in allentown and never had a problem with orders. In Philly,different story. Ordered from old city location a month ago and person rude and got 2 out of 4 hoagies wrong. Forgot sides. 3 days ago tried again and all 3 hoagies missing things and added mayo to a sandwich which was to have oil and vinegar. Dessert wrong. Person rude. Come on, can you not read? I tried jefferson location a few months ago and order ws right but waited over 20 minutes longer for order than what was promised. There were 4 other people waiting for orders hen I came in nd one guy said he hd been there 30 minutes already waiting. The two guys there would not even acknowledge anyone that came in. NEVER AGAIN!!!!! I called for a very easy order that I would pick up. An Italian hoagie - deconstructed. In other words wrap meats, cheese etc separately so I could put it together tomorrow and not be soggie. When I goT home there was no meat in the bag. I called. They did not have any delivery. I had to go all the way back to get the meat they left out and since the genius there told me that a 12 inch hoagie would be enough for 4 people that is what I ordered. It turns out that is enough for only 2 people. So I also ordered another same hoagie. When I got there I called (I was stopped right in front, no place to park) and asked if they would bring the order to the car and I would give my credit card for the 2nd hoagie. NO NO NO NO NO They would not do this. I wouldn't even be there if they had completed the original order properly and completely. I finally got a space to park. Went into the store and order was not ready, yet. Finally got another roll toppings but NO oil and vinegar, and NO CHEESE!! I still needed cheese and meat for the 1st order. When I realized that there was only enough meat and cheese for a 9 inch hoagie not a 12 inch hoagie I pointed this out. I was ignored and the man walked away and the useless girl was making a different order. I went on vacation to Philadelphia and was super excited to try this place because I really wanted an authentic philli cheese steak and this place obviously had them. I went in to a crowded tiny restaurant with very limited seating. I waited in line for probably ten minutes and there was no order to the line. Finally it was my turn and I asked if the cheese steak was really good from there. The cashier asked if I was local or just traveling (weird question). I told her I was on vacation. She told me honestly no it really wasn't that good. I was pretty upset but I was already there and had waited so long that I decided to just order it. Honestly I thought the sandwich was a pretty decent sandwich but since the girl told me it wasn't that good I had the feeling I was missing something. The counter girls are the worst here. Simple orders are wrong most of the time . Today I called to put a order in and got put on hold. I figured while I'm on hold I'll walk over since I'm just getting a quick sandwich. So I walk over there from 3rd and walnut while I'm still on hold with them , I get all the way there (still on hold) I walk in there and it's dead in there and the counter girl that put me on hold was standing there not doing anything . I said hi I'm the person that called and you still have me on hold (total of 8 mins.) She said sorry she forgot . Then my simple sandwich I ordered (just turkey mayo lettuce that's it) was wrong ...as usual . It's a shame bc they have great hoagies but the counter girls suck . It's not the people making the food messing up it's the girl who takes your order. And you keep explaining simple orders over and over and over and they just don't get why you want just turkey mayonnaise and lettuce I guess that's just a very confusing and tricky order. read more
