Great food great restaurant and good service and prices. Seriously pissed at the credit card fee added onto our bill. They've got a small sign that says it across the restaurant. In 2026 it's absurd and I'm truly well and sick of it. Anyway the food was good and we enjoyed the experience. I literally won't come back because of the card experience because it's so frustrating to me but whatever. Good location overall in old town. Parking is probably a nightmare so definitely walk here if possible.
Do not walk, RUN to @oishii sushi & ramen! This spot is absolutely amazing! They specialize in Japanese cuisine including sushi and ramen! Recently got some new menu entrees that absolutely hit the spot! Margaretha is the owner and she is such a sweetie! She truly has a passion for everything that comes out of Oishii. Not to mention she always participates in the Lantern Festival, Sakura Festival, and the Country music festival! So be sure to check out her chicken satay, Bao buns, and corn on the cob when at those events! I got to try their blue raspberry Ramune which was a Japanese soda and I thought it was so fun! You have to push down the marble with the cap to open and I got so excited after doing this. We started off with the edamame and the pork miso ramen. Both were so tasty! The ramen hit the spot last night being that it's been so cold in Philly! So it definitely warmed us right up! We also got the dynamite roll and rock n roll! Both were so good and came out with a beautiful presentation. The dynamite roll had crab, cucumber, and avocado topped with chopped shrimp tempura, spicy mayo, and scallion. The rock n roll had shrimp tempura, snow crab, avocado and cucumber with a special sauce. We also got to try two items on their brand new menu and the pork Bao buns! We first had the chicken teriyaki don and the Yakisoba noodle shrimp! Both were so incredible. I can't say enough good things about those noodles too. One of my new favorite Japanese noodles in the city! The Bao buns were very yummy as well! I was pleasantly surprised by the Thai Green Iced Tea! I thought this drink was spectacular and so incredibly tasty! Such a great pick me up, I will definitely be craving one of these very soon! Overall a delicious dinner and a spot that I will now frequent regularly! Check it out & let me know what you think!
This is a simple and solid spot for ramen and sushi! I got a spicy tuna roll and the pork ramen. The spicy tuna was good, and I would get again. However bummed out the ginger didn't look that fantastic. The ramen was also really good. It wasn't the best, but again very solid and I would get again. Super casual and small space and perfect if you are looking to eat alone, get a quick bite, or relax with family or friends.
We were on our way to the waterfront event and wanted to stop by for some ramen/sushi based on the reviews. I got the veggie miso ramen which was beautiful in presentation and fairly good in terms of flavor profile. We got couple of their maki rolls (spider and rock'n roll), which were a bit disappointing. The main star was lacking in amount and the rolls had way too much rice in proportion, and the sauce on top was just ok. I wound return for ramen but not for their rolls.
I came here with friends for ramen and sushi. It's a small place. We made reservations, because it was restaurant week and wasn't sure how crowded it would be. When we arrived, no one was here to greet us for a while and we just sat ourselves. It wasn't crowded at all. They didn't seem to know anything about a reservation until after we ordered and someone came to ask about it. We ordered ramen and sushi. Ramen and sushi were okay. We got the rainbow, spider, and Fox Lady rolls. We also had Takoyaki, which could be better. Overall, everything could have been better.
My friend and I were craving some ramen and saw this place was open later and in a great location. The service was great, but the ramen itself could've been better. We both ordered the vegetable miso, which was topped with cabbage, broccoli, and some pickled veggies. I felt like the broth could've had more flavor, but I did like how the tofu was cooked. Overall, not a bad experience, but not good enough to keep me coming back.
The food here is absolutely spectacular - the salmon lobster roll is the best sushi I've ever had. I've been to a lot of sushi places - but this tops the spot. Not to mention the fact that the ramen is top notch, I recommend the tonkatsu ramen. I wish we had a place like this in CA. :( keep up the great work y'all.
Food was great. I used to go to a place near my home in LA. Spent 5 years looking for a place just as good and this guy beat it! Fantastic. Added cabbage and some authentic nanami togarashi chilli peppers he was kind enough to share. Service was great too. Very accommodating! Love the quaint local vibe to the business.
Spicy tonkotsu ramen. Nuff said! I ordered an extra side of chili paste. It was so good! Good to the last drop. Didn't get a chance to try anything else on the menu though.
The perfect ramen stop on a wintry evening in Philadelphia! Great location by other restaurants and shops. Cozy front with a great view of the passersby in the city. We ordered the miso ramen and the tan-tan ramen. The broth was a perfect consistency; not too thick and not too thin. There was a great variety of toppings on both of our ramens. I ordered a hot tea as well. Yum! The service was exquisite. Our waiter was so friendly and was interested in our thoughts after the meal. The cook was also very nice. I highly recommend giving this place a try. Thank you Oishii for a great dinner in a beautiful city.
We popped in when it began to downpour on our way to Penn's Landing. What a nice little spot. It's small but quite nice inside. They had a few tables for inside dining and a killer to go business going on. All our rolls were super fresh. They had some more unusual menu items so that was fun too. I would definitely recommend this place and go back if ever in the area. The only not fun detail was the QR code menu. We should have asked for a paper one. It's WAY too hard to choose sushi from an online menu where you have to click each item to see the description and then try to remember what you want.

Oishii has the best sushi and ramen I've ever had. The chicken miso ramen was incredibly flavorful with just the right amount of spice. The sushi rolls are massive and very reasonably priced. All of the sushi (volcano roll, salmon roll, spider roll and salmon nigiri) I tried was absolutely delicious. The service was quick and the servers are very nice. I'll definitely be coming back! read more
Came here for sushi, poke bowl, and Thai iced tea on a hot day! Thai iced tea was fine. The poke bowl was good but I found the sauce too salty. The interior is very small with limited seating - a no frills stop for some sushi. Just FYI, they close from 3-5pm for a break on Saturdays. Service was quick. read more
Small sushi spot that has a few tables, good for a quick lunch / dinner, or takeaway. Menu is straightforward and has some typical Japanese offerings - sushi, ramen, and gyudon bowls. Stopped in for the lunch special and got 3 rolls. Lunch special comes with a bowl of miso soup which was nice and hot, good on a cold day. The three rolls were fresh and tasty as expected. Also had two nice pieces of mackerel sashimi, good taste. All around fairly decent price and quality, thanks. read more

My friend and I were craving some ramen and saw this place was open later and in a great location. The service was great, but the ramen itself could've been better. We both ordered the vegetable miso, which was topped with cabbage, broccoli, and some pickled veggies. I felt like the broth could've had more flavor, but I did like how the tofu was cooked. Overall, not a bad experience, but not good enough to keep me coming back. read more

The food here is absolutely spectacular - the salmon lobster roll is the best sushi I've ever had. I've been to a lot of sushi places - but this tops the spot. Quite possibly the worst restaurant in Old City. Unfortunately had a bad experience here. The service was very bad and the food was below mediocre. My husband and I were seated before a table of three. We were ready to place our order, but the waiter bypassed us and took the other table's order first. This became a problem because the chef prepares food very inefficiently. Instead of preparing the same roll for multiple tables, the chef completes the orders one table at a time. This resulted in a wait time of 1 hour and 15 minutes before we got any of our food. It took our waiter 20 minutes to bring us water after we asked for it. We sat and watched the table of three as their edamame, salad, and L10 rolls came out and we had none of the 3 rolls we ordered. We were very underwhelmed with the food when we finally tasted it. It is on par with bad supermarket sushi. One of our rolls was mostly rice. See photo for reference. Where is the fish? A thin slice on top and a tiny bit of unagi in the middle. This roll was 85% rice. One piece didn't even have fish on or inside of it. Once we were ready to pay for the check, my husband went up and waited. The waiter was cleaning a table by throwing trash from one table into a plastic bag, but did not go up to help my husband until I stood up and he noticed I was obviously waiting for my husband. Throughout the night, six or seven parties were turned away and I can't but think it's because they haven't figured out how to be efficient. read more

First time here. The tonkotsu and shoyu ramen are totally AMAZING!!! I am a picky ramen eater and this place does it right. Beef bowl is excellent as well. Definitely will visit again given the opportunity. Place is clean and friendly. Take out orders are filled fast if dining room is full. read more
Enjoyed the sushi combos from here a bunch. For a solid price, you get 3 rolls and a soup, all of which came with 8 pieces, fresh fish, all rolled up in perfect little boxes. The simpler rolls are priced well for what they are, and I imagine the fancier ones would be good as well. Definitely was worth it since I had a small discount on a pick up order, but the experience has me wanting another! read more

Oishii is a new ramen and sushi place located at the Old City neighborhood. They have a good variety of sushi and ramen to choose. I ordered 2 times already and so far we've tried the classic Tonkotsu Ramen, Chicken Miso Ramen, Green Curry Ramen, Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, Volcano Roll, Las Vegas Roll, Tokyo Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll. The tonkotsu ramen has a good flavor, i'd say even better than most tonkotsu ramen i've ever tried in South Philly area so far. The soup is also not too thick, which I like very much, because I found some Tonkotsu ramen has a very thick soup since it is made out of pork broth and it could make you nauseous sometimes if you eat too much. My dad got the chicken miso and he loves it. He says it has a perfect balance of flavors. The Green Curry ramen as well as the Tonkotsu Ramen have a good spicy flavor. If you like spicy food, you'd want to try either one of them. Although, the Green Curry is more spicy than the Spicy Tonkotsu according to my husband who had it. Their Las Vegas Roll is to die for!! I personally doesn't like spicy food so I request the Las Vegas Roll without Jalapeno, which they very kindly and gladly made it for me, and it was awesome!! Their sushi overall is pretty good. They know how to make a good sushi! I don't have all the pictures of the food we've tried but what I have I posted it here. I'm so glad there's a good sushi and ramen place open up not too far from where I live. Oishii will be my go to place for sushi and ramen!! PS: they're having a grand opening promo right now (i'm not sure for how long). You can get 20% off, which is a very good deal, if you order by phone/on their website and pick them up. read more

I see why this place has 5 stars. I ordered Sushi and meant to take a picture to post as well, however it looked so good I just indulged before I remembered. I recommend getting the Vegas Rolls if you come. I remembered to take a pic of the ramen, and it did not disappoint. It was like something out of Naruto for me! Definitely plan to come back! read more

So disappointed. I ordered take out, paid $20 for a roll with eel and 3 other fish. It came out to be 90% rice. Total rip off. I was so looking forward to this and had to have another meal afterwards since I'm not going to eat white rice for dinner read more
